So congratulations Poison Club on being 1001 posts old!

Wow. :O That's old. We should do something.

Whirlipede shaped cake anyone?? :D

Centipedes are cool but so creepy up close....

Woah, I had 1000? That's good.

Here's a toxic poison for all of you guys.

Yay for 1000 posts in this club! Not that many have made it to such a point.

And I do agree that Scolipede getting Speed Boost doesn't seem fitting at first, given how huge it is, but its small legs are what allow it to go so fast. And it does make sense to me that it can coil up like most centipedes when you really look at it. I mean, it makes sense why it can learn Defense Curl, Rollout, etc, not just because its pre-evolutions can.

So since we hit 1000 posts, I decided that I would post my favorite Pokémon for POTW.

Spoiler:

Crobat!

HeartGold Pokédex: It flies so silently through the dark on its four wings that it may not be noticed even when nearby.

I have used Crobat in every game that it's been available except for OR/AS, it's one of my favorite designs along with having good stats and a decent movepool to take advantage of. Getting Acrobatics also makes it really good to use in-game these days.

I uh. . . thought we did have Crobat as a POTW. . . we did talk about it for at least a week though hahaha. Right now Eviolite Golbat hasn't failed me and it's Super Fang is handy handy. I might change plans eventually and add Crobat to the Team instead of Golbat but so far she's been holding against attacks that can KO the other members with ease. That said, I still use Crobat in my Battle Box and wished it could learn gunk shot. It's a fun move because you throw a nasty trash can at foes, but it's also weird because Arbok can learn this move. . . what? Anyways, back to Crobat's magnificent Speed!

Well, regardless I've been steeping my hands in poisonous substances trying to attain greater greatness. And behold! The first userbar I hath created for the club! It lives and holds character!

I have painstakingly pieced this together, although I can't take credit for Koga himself I think I did a fine job. I decided on putting the pink as an underlying tone because it signifies the Soul Badge in color. I couldn't find the Visitor BRK TTS, so I did what I thought looked best and I think it turned out quite well despite of that. Enjoy.

Edit: Had another thought. I know it's kind of bulky but perhaps there should be another Spoiler for Pokémon of the week? That way there is no confusion as to which ones we've discussed and perhaps label them as well? I.E. Week 1: Golbat\ Week 2: Croagunk ETC.

Yiiiisssssss
Crobat is awesome, I don't think I've ever played a Johto game without one! Unfortunately I have only used one outside of Johto, not counting my postgame one in Sapph, and that was in Diamond. She rocks though. Get it. Cause Rock kills her. But she's stronger.

Lame jokes asideI would love to see Crobat get Gunk Shot and maybe some other moves: i hear they can't learn Crunch.....?

That is correct. Crobat cannot learn Crunch but they can learn Bite. Brave Bird and a few other STAB moves make it quite the Pokémon. Acrobatics with a Flying Gem makes for a wonderful time. Stealth Rocks hurt so bad, but it can learn Defog when bred so Spikes, Toxic Spikes and Stealth Rocks won't be an issue for your team as a whole.

There is a list in the topics, I'm not making another one. I also am not on strict weekly schedule because I change it due to how the discussion flows, if the discussion goes for a while, I let it linger, if it fizzles out quickly, then it's probably going to only be a week.

That aside, I love the userbar! Koga is still my favorite Poison-type user after all these years.

Crobat should get Crunch. It gets X-scissor to hit Psychic-types, but Crunch > X-scissor if you ask me since it can take out the Ghost-types too.

I would have to agree. Steel lost it's defense against Dark (they shouldn't have done that) and Fairy Types are now also resistant to Bug Type moves, which means a whopping seven types won't get hurt too much by X-Scissor. What happened? Fairy types should be afraid of bugs. . . but right now I'm using Steel Wing as opposed to Bite or X-Scissor because it can handle the Rock and Ice types that may cause Crobat harm, and it's fast enough to put them down quickly. There's also the nice added bonus of potentially raising your Defense by one stage.

That said I hope my suggestions aren't stepping on your proverbial toes. It wasn't that I was upset that we would be talking about Crobat again, but surprised it wasn't a topic of the week considering how much we talked about it I honestly thought it was.

I do think that Crobat should get Crunch, although mostly given that bats bite on their opponents, so basically for the same reason they have Bite and Poison Fang.

But I don't mind talking about this evolution line again, i'll take this awesome that evolves from an under-appreciated (not) nuisance that people need to appreciate. :P

AAAHHHH CROBAT OMG OMG OMG

It's my most favorite Pokemon ever. Like, legit. It's so sleek and the design is so great. Plus, it takes a lot to train one. You need to love a Zubat, one of the most annoying Pokemon, in order to take it to the fantastic Crobat. Yes. YEES.

Crobat should get HORN DRILL YEAH Crunch, yes. Bite isn't really a worthy move. Plus, it covers a lot more than X-Scissor, as he already has his poison stab for grass types and Crunch would possibly take care of a few ghost types.

I have never actually used Crobat I was trying to evolve a Golbat in Gen Four but I switched it out for something else.

Let's talk about how Crobat can now (once again) be taught Super Fang! Double Team, Roost, Steel Wing and Super Fang for great fun! Also being able to use confuse ray before they can even move is also good for a laugh.

I remember when I used to not be a major fan of the Zubat line, but Marriland's use of a Crobat in both his Emerald and Platinum Nuzlockes (named Frittata and Eggpie respectively, who were both female) made me start to like Crobat and I can definitely not blame that given it has the speed to outrun lots of threats along with having some solid power backing it up.

Having access to some unusual moves like Super Fang, Steel Wing, Roost, Double Team and the common confusion and poison-inducing moves always make it a valued team member. It is kinda surprising it doesn't get Crunch despite having Bite, because you'd think everything that learns Bite would also learn Crunch.

It can take a while to raise its happiness high enough to evolve into Crobat, but with the effort you get a nice fast and strong Pokemon with solid stats across the board.

Hey Wicked can we get a new POTW topic going please? No one has responded for two days. :)
also there's only been like 3 important people who use Poison types, those being Koga, Janine, and Roxie. TT_TTU

Here you go:

Spoiler:

Swalot!

Black/White Pokédex: It swallows anything whole. It sweats toxic fluids from its follicles to douse foes.

I'm not a fan of Swalot. I've never used one and I have no plans to. It honestly reminds me of Muk and I personally like Muk much better.

Out of all of them, Koga is most important. He's my favorite Gym Leader/Elite Four of all.

Ah.
I like Swalot a lot(:D) but just because it's kinda cute. And purple.
I'm a little bit biased though because of 'Satoshi Swalot', the Poke-avatar used by the Pokemon Adventures/Special mangaka(manga artist) Satoshi Yamamoto.
Now we can generate moar chat. :P

And yeah Koga's the coolest out of those three.

I haven't actually really used Swalot or Gulpin before. I don't know why but they've just never felt really Poisonous to me. I don't know what they're supposed to be. Weezing is volatile spores and dirty air, Muk is sludge, Garbodour is land waste and Swalot is. . . Swalot. I think it should also be said that every time I've encountered them in game, whether in the wild or against trainers, they all know stockpile, swallow, and spit up. There has got to be a way to use them but I see it as a Pokémon that doesn't really excel in any one area. It's stats don't really make it stand out all too much either, and when we have the option to choose from other Poison types that are immune to ground type moves it doesn't see much use with me other than to breed certain moves, and even then not so much. It's move pool isn't too impressive and a lot of what it can learn, Muk can also learn. I feel like Swalot fell in a spot that didn't want to be good in any single department but decided to try and keep it well rounded. I don't see many people using it though. Every type has some duds and I feel like Swalot may be one of Poison's
