Welcome to the Avatar: The Last Airbender and the Legend of Korra Fan Club! For those who don't know, ATLA and LOK are wonderful products of Nickelodeon, created and produced by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.

ATLA follows the story of a boy named Aang, who is the Avatar, which is someone who can wield and control the 4 elements, Water, Earth, Fire, and Air, who was trapped inside an iceberg. Two teenagers from the Southern Water Tribe, Katara, who is a Waterbender, and Sokka, free Aang from the iceberg. Watch them as they travel around the world, bringing back justice and freedom, fight bad guys, tag along friends, and get followed by Zuko, a firebender who is bent on capturing Aang.

LOK happens 70 years after ATLA. It follows the story of Korra, the successor of Aang, and watch her and her friends, Bolin, Mako, and Asami, fight to restore balance to the world, bring forth change, and find peace amongst all.

To start off the club, we will have two topics! One is general, and the other one will be the recent episode discussion!

Why do you love ATLA and/or LOK?

and like hughes said, What did you think about "Enter the Void" and "Venom of the Red Lotus"?

The second topic should be in spoilers just for those who haven't watched the Book 3 Finale yet.

It's funny, I remember watching the first 2 episodes when they first aired on Nickelodeon. I watched the premiere and then the encore and I remember my dad asking me why I kept watching Zuko get hit in the head with a boomerang lol.

Around the time when they first recruited Toph into the crew is when I dropped Avatar. Then after I finished high school I was like, hey I should try rewatching Avatar from beginning to end. After finishing the show, I fell in love. The fights were quick but really cinematic, the music was good, the characters were great. I love all of the choreography they put into each character's fighting style. Then after finishing Avatar, Korra already finished its first season so I picked that up and caught up ever since.

Favorite Episode: Hard to say. I'd say the wan episodes are my favorite.

I didn't actually start watching ATLA until after I had seen the first three episodes of Korra. I had heard a lot of good things about the show, and since I was entranced by Korra, I wanted to know more about the universe before the series got deeper into its plot. I marathoned all 61 episodes in 4 days (this is while I was a full-time college student and working part-time). It's hard to pinpoint just one reason to love these shows, but I think if I had to say that they created a world that feels wholly like ours and yet is completely different. The characters are beyond the normal tropes you see in shows targeted for similar age groups (and even most adults shows). I could ramble forever about how great these shows are, but I'll keep it to this for now.

As for the Korra Book 3 finale:

My heart is still broken for Korra. After everything she's been through in the past year or so, you can understand why her spirit seems so crushed. Almost the entire show has been about her wrestling with her identity as the Avatar, going from a gung-ho yet naive person who relished in her title to now being broken but wiser. With the way their world is, it seems to have adapted well to not needing an Avatar, and I think she realizes that. I'm very curious to see where the direction of the show goes for Book 4.

Everything about those two episodes were top notch. The animation and suspense were flawless, and the fighting scenes as always were brilliantly choreographed. I think they told a story extremely well given the time constraints they had (if anyone didn't know, they had to shorten the episodes by one minute each as ordered by Nickelodeon).

Anyways about the Season 3 finale:

I really didn't expect Jinora to really look like Aang :O

And wow that P'li x Zaheer kiss was totally awkward. Like P'li was sooooooo taller than Zaheer, it's just :O

Too bad P'li died :( I guess the thought of it was so shocking, it got her mind blown

And, I can't see Korra be that weak wheelchaired girl, like wow, that poison must took a hit on her :( I'm guessing the poison is mercury, since it's the only liquid metal, and Suyin obviously bended it out pretty quickly.

Right??! Lmfao. I was speechless with my mouth open when I saw Jinora looking like a mini-Aang. I was so happy for her finally getting her tattoos like she always asked for. I also really felt bad about Korra. I hate seeing main characters looking so miserable because they're usually so much more charismatic. P'li's death kinda shocked me because I wasn't expecting a children's show to hint such a crazy way to die lol. The camera just moves right when you hear the explosion. I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt awkward looking at the height difference between her and Zaheer. Lastly I thought it was cool how Zaheer started flying.

The finale was amazing all in all. Bolin sealed the deal with that sock joke lol.

Book 3 ending.

the ending was really shocking. I was surprised to see how the battle went and how amazing the battle scene was. I can't really see korra being in a wheel chair for avery long time. Not with her personality the creators gave her.

I do hope that they continue on with the series. Whether its going on to book 4 for LOK, or doing a completely new story.

I am here because I love ATLA and LoK, and also because the season 3 finale destroyed my emotions, and I'm having trouble getting over it. Jinora being a Master rank, and Korra in a wheel chair really surprised me. I was not prepared.

With the whole Jinora thing, I definitely thought she'd look more like Avatar Yangchen, with the front part of her head shaved, guess not.

Favorite Character: Tough one, but I guess I'll go with Varrick and Zhu Li, Bolin being a close third to them ~
Favorite Episode: Beginnings (2) from LoK, and The Ember Island Players from ATLA

I actually watched the season finale without having watched book three altogether, soo yeah I did spoil myself quite badly, but hey, latin american Nickelodeon had already uploaded some of the mid-season LoK episodes before the book even started (which I watched before they were taken down) so I can't really say much on the matter :P

It's nice to finally see Jinora gain her Master rank and her tattoos. She really deserved it after all that she had done. Also, Korra looks like she's going to be out of service for quite a while. The poison and the fight with Zaheer had sapped away a huge amount of her spirit; she couldn't even manage a proper smile at the Master's ceremony. I also really loved all the fight scenes, and I also kinda expected to see Zaheer gain the power of flight. Overall, spectacular storyline and ending.

Favorite Character: Korra from LoK! Also Bolin from LoK and Zuko from TLA.
Favorite Episode: Favorite episode is hard but I've always adored Ember Island from TLA and pretty much all of season 3 in LoK. The former was hilarious with Zuko + co's random nonsense and season 3 from LoK was just all-around hilarious and full of just the right amount of action/comedy.

What did you think about "Enter the Void" and "Venom of the Red Lotus"?

I honestly feel like they were rushed. The Red Lotus died way too fast, all the troubles Team Avatar 2 had with them before? Non existent here.
Also Deus ex machina poison metal bending. How did Jinora even know it was metalic? It would have been way better if Zaheer accidentally told them or something.

Overall i don't like the finale, for how great the rest of Book 3 was, i think it was a letdown.

Zaheer is making me rethink my favorite element though.
