AMA 21 years on PC AMA

Alrighty. I vaguely remember when I first used the site that there used to be, like in many other vBulletin boards at the time, little icons users can add for their Social Medias such as Facebook or Skype. PC also went a little bit further with Steam links as a matter of fact.

Most of my first years on this forum was in the rom hack section, before I started branching out to the non pokemon sections of the forums these past few years. Though I've been online nearly everyday I been on a computer for the past 14 years, only time I haven't really been online is during times when I was on the road with my father back when he was a truck driver. Though I really haven't interacted with you really at all, did you buy the original pokemon games day one when they released in English?

I haven't posted a lot during the years, my most active years posting was during my early years, but I just browse daily.

I wasn't allowed to have game consoles at all when the original games came out, but Pokémon Red was the very first video game I ever owned because my brother and I got a Gameboy Color to share along with a singular copy of Red. (He won the coin flip for first play and then I overwrote his save file because I didn't like the starter he chose lmao.) Ever since then I've gotten every mainline Pokémon game on its release date (and since gen 5, on the JP release date since I knew enough to no longer have to wait!), but I might not going forward because I didn't really get into Scarlet at all. u_u We'll see.

What do you think needs to change in the Pokemon games to make them more interesting to you?

What's your favorite tsk moment
mobile tsk redemption arc even though i think i actually missed it because i wasn't here

honestly probably just go back to letting me pick cute outfits, the school pants in scarlet were abhorrent.

but also i don't like open world games so i don't want them to do it again even though i'm sure they will because it was so well-received.

Oh I didn't think this thread was still alive lol
What would you consider to be your favourite new video game release of 2023, and why? You are allowed to mention multiple games.
I think the game I enjoyed the most that came out last year (that I've played, of coruse) was Chants of Sennaar. It's a really neat game about translating unknown languages as you puzzle your way through a tower filled with different societies. Honourable mention goes to the Ghost Trick remaster but that is a rerelease so it feels like cheating.
Happy 21 years! I just hit 20 years haha
Omg I haven't seen you in ages!! Congrats on two decades lmao
How did you first find out about PC?
I genuinely don't even remember... I just joined like every Pokemon forum I could find one summer and this was one of them. But later on after I'd forgotten about it, I re-found out about it because a friend of mine had a "fanclub" here back when we still had member fanclubs and I thought that sounded weird so I went to check it out.

You're older than me on PC, I keep forgetting that. XD

I have a question, if it hasn't been answered yet but...

What are some of your most favorite memories from the early days of PC?
:D

On a scale of 1-10, how hyped are you for Dawntrail tomorrow?
Evidently I was too hyped to be checking PC during the downtime because it's now been out for like two weeks and I'm just looking at this now. I was... kinda hyped for Dawntrail? But also kinda not because I didn't like the story during Endwalker and its patches. I was really only excited for Dawntrail because of the grass and dual dye update LMAO. I hated how my wol looked in the benchmark but I found in motion I got over her update pretty immediately. And having had basically zero expectations of DT, I ended up liking it more than I thought I would! Not the best expansion, but I think it was fine for what it was. I am now however super SUPER hyped for the duties in its patches. The dungeons and trials are so fun, they actually brought challenge back to the game. I bet the alliance raid are gonna be fun again!!

Everything kinda blurs together. When I think back on early PC though I think pretty fondly on just like... everyone sorta growing up together. We were all stupid teenagers and we had teenage drama and all that, but there was something sooo sincere about everything. It feels really nostalgic to look back on.

It was fun feeling like I had to change my avatar/sig all the time to express myself, fun when new forum themes or updates would come out and we'd all ooh and aah over the changes. I liked how active the forum was for years, where people would log on and make like three dozen posts in an evening because there were that many other people doing the same thing and you could use threads like a chatroom. I've been more involved with Discord than the forum since my return and the immediacy is better in some ways but in others it's just not the same.

What year did you make the most posts on here?
I think the year Black and White came out because we took a long time to find a mod for the section iirc and I did SO much modding that summer with posts to say I was moving or closing a thread lol. I think I got 4k posts that summer alone or something absurd like that.

A great question to answer with my 33,333rd post on PC. :')

Wow I apparently have never posted in this. OK.

I genuinely can't remember this, could hazard a guess but not fathom the reason so: Favourite Tales game and why?
Were there any other names for Jude you had considered, or was Jude always the one?
When will you be giving Jude to me?
What was your 'dream job' whilst growing up?
What are your top 3 favourite things about Canada?

What was the most interesting era of PC after I left?

(Because of course the most interesting one of all was when I was getting up the courage to message you on MSN)
