Think you have what it takes to be PokeCommunity's best gamer? Prove yourself in PC's Year of Gaming Challenges! Each week a new game will be picked to see who has what it takes to get the highest score in a game ranging from old school to current modern classics. The people with the top 3 scores will be given emblems due to their abilities. At the end of the Year of Gaming, the top 3 overall performers will get unique emblems as well. "The objective of Galaga is to score as many points as possible by destroying insect-like enemies. The player controls a starfighter that can move left and right along the bottom of the playfield. Enemies swarm in groups in a formation near the top of the screen, and then begin flying down toward the player, firing bullets at and attempting to crash into them. In later stages, some enemies even break from an entering group to frantically try to crash into the player. The game ends when the player's last fighter is lost, either by colliding with an enemy, one of its bullets, or by being captured."

★. After your game is officially over when the "Game Over" screen comes on, take a screenshot of your score and comment below with said screenshot. Standings will be determined by round. Tie breakers will be determined by high score.

★. You have an unlimited amount of tries to get the greatest score. However, only the top 3 scoring members will obtain an emblem.

★. You have one week to participate in this challenge, meaning the last date to send an entry will be October 25th, 11:59 PM ET.​

Aha! A game I know! Galaga is one of my favorite arcade games ever. I actually have it on 360, haha! So I'll upload a score later.

Gave it a shot a few times, this is the type of game that gets on my nerves if i play it too long haha.

My score is 23,880 (ignore the 30,000 hi score).

I'll probably try again when I've got a bit more time, but I got 18,920 in my first try (found it funny I couldn't top that on my next 4 attempts, though).

I'm trying to top the default 3000 high score before posting, I keep landing mid 2000s though. >.<

Rankings have been updated! Just a reminder though, rankings are determined by rounds, not score. Score is used as a tiebreaker in an instance when both make it to the same round!

I decided to have my hand at this, at first I wasn't doing too great but just a little bit ago I got this score.
