6th Gen A Eraser Device - for X&Y

Let's say that I, Dragon, created a device. Now, this device will allow you to manipulate, or erase one thing that was in Pokemon X&Y, and it can be anything! Like, for example, you can use this device on characters, or maybe places, or maybe even, a certain event in the game, or perhaps any sorts of mechanics within the game.

Now, basically, with this device, you can basically change or erase anything that as disappointed you so far, and anything that needed improvement! So, with this device, what sorts of things related in Pokemon X and Pokemon Y that has disappointed you so far, that you would erase or change in some what?

What would you change to improve on them? Or would you rather just erase those specific parts from the game forever? Feel free to share thoughts and ideas!

the limitation of not being able to transfer items with your pokemon into Pokebank.if I worked really hard getting a bunch of hard to get items or traded hard bred pokemon to get other items, why do I have to lose them every new generation of games that comes out? Why can't I keep my items forever the way I can keep my pokemon forever?

Diantha's role in the story. Make it more Cynthia-like, in my opinion.

I use Cynthia as a benchmark for Champions in the games. She's a perfect example of one to me - she's both strong and necessary to the story, while Diantha's pretty much like a filler character story-wise. She's just...there. Sure, she's somewhat strong, but to me her role in the story is just to stand there and look pretty, which not gonna lie, she does well. Cynthia was well involved in the story, along with being powerful. I just wish Diantha was more like her.

I'd honestly not remove anything from X/Y. I'd probably just give everything a touch-up on mechanics or looks, but not completely get rid of anything.

Mega Evolution.
I like the concept, but I truly don't want it. =/

actually same here. I also don't like mega evolutions. If I wanted to play Digimon, I'd play digimon. On top of that, I REALLY hate the mega evolutions that are completely different than their nromal forms (so a pokemon that is strictly a special attacker suddenly becomes a physical attacker so you now have to get a nature and moveset based solely around it's mega evolved form rather than it's regular form) or pokemon that get abilities totaly different than their normal abilities (like Heracross that gets Skill Link so now you have to waste one of it's slots on a weak move rather than all strong moves just in order to make use of that ability OR not make use of that ability at all) so I agree with Destinedjagold, I too would erase Mega Evolutions if I could.

I don't even know, to be honest. If nothing else, giving the Gym Leaders and Elite Four more Pokémon. I mean with Gen V it was one thing, but this has over 400 Pokémon to choose from, so it is disappointing that they have such small rosters. Some of them can be interesting to battle, like Clemont and Valerie, but they needed more enjoyable teams to battle.

I'd get rid of Team Flare, to be honest. They are the official criminal origination of X and Y and whatnot, I understand, but thing is that they don't play much of a role in them, so I feel that it'd be better had they not existed at all. Right now, I don't exactly much plans as to how, but if it were up to me, I definitely would have tried taking some different approach. Not only would it have been fun for developers, but fans would have enjoyed it as well; it's something new. If it doesn't work out, then we could always go back to old formula in next games--not much of big deal, really, if you spend some time thinking about it.

I'd erase my 'friends'.

Can't stand it when they go all crazy and act like idiots.
Serena's fine but the other two needs to be gone.

I'd remove the EXP Share (yes I know you can turn it off, but still, like fast food, it's THERE). I wish that widespread over-leveling never even crossed their minds.

I would remove Tierno and Trevor. And probably Shauna too while I'm at it. And that's about it.

Shawn really likes his eraser device....

I don't think I'd want to erase something exactly, but there are some changes I'd like to see be made in X/Y:

1) Like Howmander said, I wanna be able to transfer items via PokeBank. Game Freak, stop trolling us with the items.
2) Team Flare. They just really didn't do it for me. They were amusing, yes, but they goofed off the whole time. The grunts were basically like "idk what our boss is doing but it's supposed to be good and we might as well follow YOLO!" At least the Galactic grunts (and Magma/Aqua grunts, but Galactic>Magma/Aqua) genuinely believed that they were helping to create a better world. Team Rocket at least knew they were the bad guys but were proud of it. And Team Plasma is best evil team. Then there was the issue of Lysandre not being fully developed.....
3) The lack of post-game. I need moar post game!

Strange thing is that's exactly what they did. Team Plasma was an attempt at a "new approach", and got a really polarized reaction; everyone either thinks they were one of the best villainous teams or that they were one of the worst. Then in the next games (X and Y), Game Freak went back to the more standard villainous team approach.

That's what I think, anyway.

There's one thing I want erased, and that's those annoying popup ads in PSS (except for the one letting you know your battery's low; that one can stay). I know I can just change to Amie or Super Training, but I like keeping the PSS up when I'm breeding/training since I'll need to access O-Powers.

There are a few things I wouldn't want erased, but instead changed:

1. Transferral of items on PokeBank. I really do dislike having to lose items I worked hard to get or items that are used to evolve Pokemon. I'd also like to be able to transfer items between my X and Y without having to trade with someone else (since I lack a second 3DS/2DS), particularly the game-exclusive Mega Stones.

2. The lack of roles the Gym Leaders + Diantha had. I guess I could do with the former not having huge roles like those in BW/BW2, but because she barely did anything in the storyline, Diantha really did not have a Champion feel to her.

3. Lack of post-game content and Gym Leader/Pokemon League rematch teams. Don't think I need to explain why.

4. Lack of Challenge Mode. I don't care if Easy Mode isn't there (especially since XY is plenty easy as is), but Challenge Mode would've been really fun.

Give Tierno/Trevor the remaining 2 Kanto starters. Or at least swap out that Corphish for a Kalos pokemon The X/Start Menu can now be reorganized... but why not PC options and the PSS menu? More bag pockets. All small nitpicks that could be easy to work in.

I'd erase the friend safari and replace it with the original. I absolutely HATE the friend safari. It's why I stopped playing the game once I reached the ending. Needing to add 30+ people just to enjoy the game past the storyline is ridiculous. It was a horrid design pigeon-holing you into adding other people. I just want to play the game, and the fact I can't even find roughly half of the pokemon without friend safari is just shameful.

I know what you're saying, but I think it's a pretty great way of doing it. And after all, you're on this site so it can't be that hard to find friends. There's numerous in game pokemon you can't get without getting at least 1 friend with the opposite version from your game, not to mention needing to trade to evolve.

See, I'm alright with the whole two opposing versions. That was how we did things when I first started playing Pokémon (red, blue, yellow; gold and silver were my last ones that I played till the 3DS). The two versions promote trading within the GTS because there's two different copies. That's fine, and trading is a good thing. That's no big deal because you can come up with SOMETHING from your game to trade (from the wild; specific to your version). With the friend safari you're forced to add people because everyone wants the friend safari pokemon. That's grindy, monotonous, and just isn't fun IMO. That's less time catching, and more time messing with a overly complicated friend system.

Want to know what it reminds me of? It reminds me of those Facebook games like Farmville that sit there and say "isn't this game GREAT!? Well, if you add your friends, you can get rewards for it the more you have!" It just takes away from what COULD be there, forcing you to go out of your way. Maybe I wouldn't be so bitter about it if, for example, each friend safari had 20 random Pokémon... but THREE? Come on now..

Seventh, I'd get rid of at least half of Lumiose City's avenues. I'm always lost, and can never find my way around that huge city. I have enough on my mind when trying to find a location there, did they have to make it any harder? This game is targeted for 10-year-olds. What 10-year-old is going to remember the entire layout of that city?

LOL. I'm 27 and the first thing I said when I got there was "WAT. How the heck is a 10 year old supposed to remember all of this when I can't even remember which street I'm on!"

My mind was blown that day.

Sixth, I'd get rid of the Fairy type. Why ruin a pretty much balanced system? It's basically trying to fix what wasn't broken. Granted, they did give the slightly-OP Dragon-type more weakness options, but there weren't a whole plethora of Dragon-types to begin with.

I disagree with this one. I for one loved the fairy typing. (Maybe the NAME could be changed, sure) But not only did it make the Steel and Poison types actually useful, but more importantly it really did balance out the plethora of dragon types. There were simply getting to be way too many dragons and everyone was using them. Don't think there were that many? https://www.serebii.net/pokedex-bw/dragon.shtml (and this is just from the last generation, not even counting what they added this time around) and they weren't even token dragon types (the way Diglett is a ground type, but it can't be classed the same as a Garchomp), they were powerful mid to late game dragon types so they all had good stats and move pools and because of that everyone was using them on their team so adding a new type to be a threat was a great idea.
