Add edit profile picture to User CP drop down.

    There's a quick link up there for your avatar and your signature already, and when most people change those, they tend to change their profile picture to match their new avatar and signatures, so it makes a lot of sense to have a quick link up there.
     
    Yesssss please do this. I would use it a lot. :3

    Edit: Actually when I read this I was reading as the 'change profile colors' thing which I think should be in the dropdown too!

    I've been wanting this feature for some time now. I always click Control Panel and wonder why it's not there, lol. So yeah, I think this would be nice and efficient.
     
    I tend to not change my Profile Picture very often, but this would be nice since everything else is already available.
     
    I would love to have this feature! Personally I find it a hassle having to go into the User CP every time I want to change my profile picture.
     
    I disagree. It takes 2 seconds to go into the user CP and choose change profile picture. I'm probably going to be overruled because it seems to be a popular idea, but I just think it's unnecessary.

    For the record, most of the themes are linked to a master template for things such as this. It would take probably the same amount of time to change that template as it would to actually change a profile picture, lol. Not like it's some huge thing that requires a plugin or extra coding.

    You make a good point, but that wasn't what I was saying at all. I was just saying that this is unnecessary, not that it would be too much effort to change the template.
     
    Well if you go by the 'unnecessary' sentiment, the entire forum is unnecessary. Extra sections are unnecessary. Anything you could possibly suggest is unnecessary. Not exactly the most airtight argument for rejecting a suggestion.

    What? I'm just saying that having a shortcut to the edit profile picture page is unnecessary, as are the other shortcuts (Signature, Avatar, Details, Options). It's easy enough to get by just clicking 'User Control Panel' and being presented with every possible option (the big list of things you can change on the left hand side) at once.

    That's just how I feel about it, but I don't get how that suddenly means I think that all the different boards and sub-boards and all the possible discussions that can take place are somehow pointless, just because I feel a certain small feature is unneeded.
     
    What I'm saying is by that logic, making a new subforum is unnecessary because, to use online games as an example, we can just put them in Video Games. The entire forum is unnecessary because we can just post on BMGf or Serebii. Making things more convenient for users is an end in itself; I can understand thinking "well I wouldn't use that", but I can't understand your logic of recommending it not be done based on the argument of other ways to get to it.

    Forums and subforums lay the foundation of any successful/popular forum and are pretty much the most important thing in order to generate quality discussion and keep the discussions organised. We're talking about only having to click once instead of twice in order to access a certain part of the forum. Without forum/subforum organisation, the forum could easily fall apart and become a complete mess, and may discourage users from continuing to use this forum and instead jumping to BMGF and Serebii. However, we can go without 'edit profile picture' in the drop down menu because we can survive without that.

    Whether or not you'd rather come here or go to BMGF or Serebii is all down to personal preference and choice. The forums are all different and unique in their own way, so no, this forum is not unnecessary just because BMGF and Serebii exist.

    My motto: If it isn't broken, don't fix it.

    I agree with that, but I don't agree with the notion that because I feel that this is unnecessary, I must feel everything else/the entire forum itself is also unnecessary. So naturally I just expressed my feeling with that.
     
    I thought at first "if it's not broken, don't fix it" too. But I guess if it's little hassle to add in and shaves off a couple of seconds then there's little reason not to have it. It's not needed at all but it'd be nice for the people who do want to use it. I don't know how easy to add these things are but I don't imagine it'd take particularly long so I'd say yes.
     
    I like the sound of this idea. I personally wouldn't use it too much, but I think it's a great liitle nifty shortcut. If it makes things easier, then I have no problem with it really. It'd be a nice little addition I think.
     
    I kinda agree with Kanto_Johto tbh, it doesn't seem all that necessary to add it imo and it takes hardly any time to get to the changing profile picture section when you do eventually get round to changing it, so it could well just end up as clutter since they don't get changed often by most users. But I guess it wouldn't hurt to include it since the majority seem to want it, and it's only one tiny extra link to look through n.n
     
    okay you know how youtube changed their hyperlink half a shade so that it would attract more users?

    yeah, so here is the same idea. Small changes that make a user's experience just that more enjoyable and thus probably making them stay a bit longer, and more ad money for Steve! Okay yeah but I hope you understand my point.

    But if you're just going to add it because, I would say nope, because that would be pointless.
     
    It's just more efficient, just like the quick links to change avatars or signatures. It's quite handy for people that change them often, like myself. I don't see why there was an unnecessary argument about things being unnecessary though, but...
