Generally speaking I'd agree, but there's exceptions. Like with newly released games it's better to wait a month or two and let the devs patch the major bugs, to have a more stable/less bug ridden playthrough.

90% Agreed, the regional dexes are perfectly fine with me.
The only reason I'm withholding 10% is because they didn't manage to give every Pokemon a game to go into on the Switch. They need to do a better job at rotating the Pokemon around instead of just filling half the regional dex, or more, with popular stuff that gets to be in pretty much every game.

It's more important to enjoy doing a hobby than it is to be good at it.

I wonder what the actual point it's okay to give up and move on from something is considered, but I know for sure that if it's something you didn't really want to do in the first place, then dropping it after the first failure makes complete sense. (like me when I was forced to try ice-skating, or me when I was forced to try skiing, or me when I was forced to learn how to ride a bike, or me whe- you get the idea)

(on that note) You should never force a kid to like something they have no interest in.
