Well in the picture thread everyone is lookin' good! I wanted to send a picture i just don't have any on my computer or got the nerves to plug in my phone for 40 seconds to move some to my computer. I will do it someday i swear! People will know my face!

But yeah usually i just try to make an image based on interests.
 
Back when I first joined, I'll be honest, I was curious as to what members looked like, and snooped through multiple pages of the picture thread :3 But now after becoming acquainted with the community, that curiosity has sort of disappeared \: Not to say that there aren't people who interest me, but rather I would prefer to form my perceptions of members based on how they portray themselves through their posts; the attitudes that are apparent through their word choice. At the same time though, like text messages, the line of communication is flawed because of the fact that it's online rather than face-to-face interactions.
 
Honestly, if I haven't seen a picture of you, I don't really think about appearances. You're like a cloud to me.
 
I'm like Dipu in that I don't really picture people when I think about members and what they look like. You're all just nondescript things whose words appear on my screen. Even after I know what someone looks like, I still don't think of them as a physical person. I just keep thinking of them as a nondescript thing.

That's how I am about everything with technology. Even people that I know in real life and see every day become nondescript things in my mind when I'm reading something they post online.
 
If I think the person sounds interesting, I'll go and check and see if they've posted in the picture thread..and then get disappointed when I find they don't. ): I then associate their avatar with them, and then get puzzled when they change it. :<
 
I picture people as their avatars more or less, especially if they've been using a specific avatar for a while or have avatars of the same thing (repeated icons of Pikachu, Zelda, etc). In my head Morkula is the kid from Bastion even if he doesn't want to be. :) Most of the time people tend to look waaay different than what I'd imagined when I'm able to see their picture.
 
I associate people through their avatars. So everyone looks like their avatar to me.

If you have no avatar, then I either form an image of you as Tuxedo Mask, or a tumblr anon avatar.
