Emerald hack: Altered Emerald (386+ patch with new maps and 7th gen battle engine/evos)

Had the same issue, you need to leave the map and let it refresh after applying the most recent patch. Luuma helped me with this.

hey, i was fishing a bit in meteor falls and found a lot of tauros (some apearing at level 50, even though i was using the old rod) so maybe you should check that

Fun fact about this glitch:
-It also affected the good rod in meteor falls
-It also affected the super rod in meteor falls
-It also affected every other time the player used any fishing rod throughout the entire game

Good catch, I've released a fix! Also decapitalised the entire rom for good measure.

I just came back to Altered Emerald after taking a nice break.
1 week ago I was about to restart my save, just putting back my money and Pokémon.
Today I've downloaded the latest version and started the journey again and found this small bug:

EDIT: Also, I just noticed this small change in the Nurse Joy, dunno if it's a bug.

EDIT2: Small error in Dewford Town's Gym tile.

EDIT3: I guess there should be an item in this spot right here, but there's nothing.

EDIT4: Having Cerulean City's music in Mauville feels weird enough, but Pallet Town's in Fallarbor? :/ ...

Noticed a few bugs in the latest version.

Facing grassy surge chikorita-once fainted it kept being restored back to life until grassy terrain ended.

Whirpool trapped/did tick damage without successfly hitting after paralysis.

Also ashamed to admit I'm stuck at fray Manor. What am I supposed to do the guy keeps porting away.

dude like this first bug is the only thing that isn't intentional
route 113 item lump was where tm32 used to be, but it's now on route 112. Left in as a throwback
archie is there because I though it would be cool. He vanishes after you beat maxie
dewford gym is just slightly too much effort to fix because it's barely noticeable
changing the music is entirely subjective and I prefer the ones I went with to the original themes, which in mauville's case was rustboro's theme to begin with. Fallarbor's theme plays in lavaridge, which in the past had the same music as oldale.
nurse joy's text change is a quality of life change. You can now cycle through everything she says in 2 A-presses rather than 5

The very latest version actually has grassy terrain removed from the game! The wrap one is new to me, but I'll leave it in because that doesn't sound too glitchy. Going through paralysis seems like a neat balance change more than anything.

In Fray manor, the guy keeps walking away into the same spot, right? Give that spot a check! Also, try to get to the room in the middle of the house, it's my fave

This is prolly not a bug, Steven didn't gave me the Dive HM.

I suppose I'll check Pacifidlog and the Shoal Cave the next time I play.


These two are prolly not bugs, but is there a point for them to be there?
Like.. that thing in Mossdeep doesn't make sense at all (also, meant to say this for a while, I think that the grey corners aren't supposed to be walked on) and the ledge thingy in Mt. Pyre (the one near the NPC) is just useless.

Thought about a suggestion, that tree could be a nice secret base. Specially considering the Flying Position.

Nice catch on most of these! The gifs do really help!
Jolteon has flash fire because vaporeon has volt absorb and flareon has water absorb
I know those trees seem weird to walk through but it's how they're done in the original game

I've fixed the three other bugs you reported. Those will be in the next update along with a couple new abilities. Then I'll be off back to uni till christmas, back midway through to drop some new routes for just before the elite 4

There's a point to both these! One's the old site of the pokemart, but based on how weird it seemed I've added a signpost to it explaining.
The ledge is there for a puzzle that gets you the item you saw at the top of mt pyre via the staircase you found to be "blocked".

I know this doesn't make a lot of sense but hear me out. Volt absorb on Vaporeon means 2x dmg electric attacks don't work. And water absorb on Flareon means 2x dmg water attacks don't work.

So have you considered making Jolteon's ability Levitate? So 2x dmg ground attacks also don't work.

I don't know how Jolteon's going to levitate since it doesn't have any wings or anything. But who's going to use neutral dmg fire moves to a Jolteon?

The point of that GIF is that it doesn't look like those karatemen and the Poké Ball are accessible.

He's walking into a patch of wall. When you talk to that part of the wall, it lets you teach a pokemon Trick Room. Gonna add this to the FAQ!

I see your point! I've already got an electric levitate user in game (electrode) so I feel like another would be excessive. Jolteon used to be on an even ground with the other eeveelutions because it was just so fast and heavy hitting. Feel like I may have left it behind a little though so I'll throw some fun new stuff its way

Ehh.. he doesn't say it after the screenshot I've took though.

He must have told me its location once, in one of the messages before giving me the Super Rod.
This isn't the first time I find this kinda problem. It'd be nice if you made Steven remind the player about the HM, since it's extremely important in order for the player to progress with the plot.

All in all it was my fault though, I shouldn't have rushed through the whole thing.

Wow, this really looks interesting. I'll be giving this a spin soon. I just wish you had probably added the DS version of Pokemon gen1-3 sprites or changed the battle backgrounds as it would make the game more attractive.

Just wondering, your previous tagline was "the one that never stops updating." At what point do you think you're going to hit a wall given that your rom hack isn't even expanded. Or is it already expanded and I'm just confused because Glazed is 32MB and yours is 16MB?

I actually really like the Pokemon Changes but I think I'm just gonna completely play this when most of the bugs in game are squashed. :D

Also, are there plans to add new Pokemons? Just for Crossgen Evolutions tho.
