I know this is a much more casual game than a lot of the games that get discussion in this section, but I wanted to see who else was into the AC games! ^-^

I've had a crazy little addiction to this game ever since I picked up my copy of Wild World a few years back. I couldn't help but download Animal Crossing New Leaf as soon as it came out, too. There's just something so relaxing and nostalgic about the game that draws me in. I am honestly fascinated by how the game is so different from anything else I've ever played (even for a simulation game!) yet works so well. It may be a little soft or cheesy, but I really do love it! ◠‿◠

But yeah! Is anyone else interested in any of the Animal Crossing games? What are some of your favorite aspects of it, as well as things you wish they would change?

(I personally wish we could go back to having villagers houses being assigned to ONLY THE AREAS WITH THE SIGNS. D< Nothing more aggravating than a villager's house killing hybrids that took ages to grow.) T-T

I go crazy on the games upon release and play them until I can't stand it anymore. I've done it for every, single AC game and unfortunately New Leaf is the newest victim of my insatiable need to be loved by pixelated animals. I'm currently at about 3 months refusing to play it. Originally it was because I was bored. Now because I am afraid of what my villagers will say AND which of them have left me.

I loved AC. Really relaxing and extremely cute to boot - played it for a long while. I don't feel I have much to do in New Leaf anymore so I've not played in a few months but like Wild World before it the game was really enjoyable. Got almost all of my dream villagers (Marshal, Poppy eee), maxed my house, nabbed a ton of good house decorations/equipment, and unlocked almost all of the shops/upgrades save for the fortune teller shop.

Did have a frustrated phase a while back because Willow (then Lolly) moved though. Not 100% my fault, or at least I like to think not, because it's a pain to be forced to play every day if you want to keep specific villagers. But luckily there are ways to prevent villagers from moving out when you're planning on going on hiatus from the game so I used one of those tricks when I stopped playing for whenever I pick it back up again!

We used to have an Animal Crossing club here! I think it's been killed off by inactivity though. :c I haven't played in months either, mainly because I'm not motivated enough to get back to it - like Sheep I've also achieved most of the main things I set out to get in the game, so it's just a little boring to wander around aimlessly in town sometimes. But I did have a lot of fun with it before, and I'm still hoping to get back into it soon.

I didn't really like how moving villagers worked in the game, because it didn't make much sense to me - the mechanics of the game make it so the villagers you're nicest to ask to move more frequently, while the villagers you never talk to or even abuse (like if you hit them with a net or push them into pitfalls) will practically never leave. It's very strange and makes it a pain to keep around the villagers you like (and to boot out the ones you don't).

I love New Leaf, but I'm sad because Ankha left me. :( I still have Marshal though. ...I'm gonna check right now and see if Rocket left. She moved in right in front of my cafe. >>

Edit: THANK GOD SHE IS FINALLY GONE AND I CAN GET SOME SANITY BACK AND MAYBE A VILLAGER I ACTUALLY LIKE

I was playing it so hardcore a couple months ago, but then one villager moved in directly in front of Reese's. Then another on the path leading to Reese's, then another, then another. I currently have 4 villagers (who are all ugly and gross) clustered around Reese, like within 2-3 tiles of each other. So I took a break from playing to wait and see if any of them moved, nobody moved, took another break, and when I checked in again, Curt moved out :\

I played for the birthday event thing a couple days ago, but other than that I have no interest in playing it. I've considered resetting my town and everything, but my house is finished and I have about 8,460,000 bells in my bank so I can't be bothered. Maybe someday I'll get the urge to play it again and clean up my town.

You have no idea how relieved I am that Rocket is gone. I don't like jock villagers honestly. Rudy just moved in a few tiles below Reese's...like perfectly placed above my path. I commend him for that, but I am not a huge fan. :( I would really like Stitches, Whitney, or Fang to move in.

And for what it's worth, my current villagers are Julian, Muffy, Lucky, Sprinkle, Static, Marshal, Grizzly, and Rudy. I'm pretty happy with all of them, but I'd like Rudy to move. I don't hate him, but he's just meh. I wouldn't be upset if Grizzly or Static moved either, but they both grew on me a lot so at this point, I probably wouldn't let them leave if they tried. I have a pretty big monopoly on popular villagers...too bad Ankha left me. :( Sigh. I'll never get over it. lol

Ex-villagers include Tiffany, Penelope, Deena, Sparro, Gladys, Rod, Ankha (;;), and now Rocket. I probably wouldn't have minded Rocket that much if she hadn't moved in right in front of my cafe though, honestly. She was a jock, but she was also wearing pink...I like pink and white villagers. lol

Fun fact: There are 7 personality types (Normal, Smug, Snooty, Jock, Cranky, Uchi and Peppy). if your town is lacking at least one villager with one of those personalities, the next villager that moves to your town will have that personality. It's a good way to cycle out villagers that you don't like and know how to replace them with someone you like that has the same personality.

Anyways, I love Animal Crossing. I unfortunately only started playing with New Leaf, but now I'm curious as to why I've never played it before. It's so much fun! I'm currently trying to get Rosie (Peppy) in my town and FINALLY got the ugliest villager to ever exist (Spork and Puddles) to leave my town! Can't wait for Rosie.

Does anyone know about the Reset Technique to get villagers you want?

    Well I guess I need to hurry and find a jock I like! Rudy isn't bad, he's just...he doesn't fit into my town IMO. At least since Ankha is gone, another snoot should move in soon, right? Whitney is snooty RIGHT?! ;o;

I love AC since I played it the first time on my GameCube!!
I had all the new AC games since then. unfortunately I don'T have much time to play right now, I play once a week just because I don'T want to lose my game. The only thing I don't like with this game is that you HAVE to play because you will lose your game if you don't...

    Yes, Whitney is snoot :P

Also, we should set up a villager exchange thing. Like, if you have a villager in boxes or one that you WANT in boxes soon, throw a line in here about it. There might be someone you want and you may have someone that someone else wants.

I usually post on Instagram about villagers leaving, if I manage to catch them in boxes anyway. I typically don't find them in boxes though lol. I just turn on the game and find that they're gone the hard way. :P

I had Rocket move right in front of my house one time so I feel the hate for that stupid pink gorilla. She actually moved out of my fiance's town and streetpassed over to me. Highly infuriating. I kept my streetpass off for the longest time out of spite. T-T

I've had a few popular villagers but I didn't really wanna keep them since all of my favorites aren't really as popular and you can usually get a good load of bells for the super popular ones. I had Ankha, Tangy, Stitches, etc. Sold them all for a couple million. Mira is my ALL TIME FAVORITE (she moved out one time and I was so sad I looked for her for months on tumblr) but I also really really love Grizzly. Such a cutie.

I agree with the villager exchange thing! We could post here if we have someone moving out that someone else may wanna trade a villager/items/bells/etc for? Maybe if there are enough members that show an interest we could make another club or something? I can't promise I'd be too active since I'm so on/off with the game and don't play it every waking moment day like I used to. I still think it'd be really fun, though. ^-^

Ewww I hate when villagers move in ridiculous places. >.< As the mayor I should at least be allowed to move them elsewhere or deny their plot choices. Meh, the lack of customization regarding your town really frustrates me. Still hate the placement of my cafe. :(

Hi, my name is Alessa and I'm addicted to Animal Crossing. Am I doing it right? :P
I never understood how a game about being in debt was so much fun... It's not nearly as much fun in real life. :c

Honestly, as much as I love it, I really only tend to play it in spurts. And it's a little overwhelming that it expects you to play daily or everything just goes to hell in a handbasket. That is to say, I've had it since last August and my house still isn't paid off, but I don't ever switch from the Beautiful Town ordinance, haha.

Really wish that adding new villagers didn't depend so heavily on their personality. Though I don't think it always does. I haven't had a Lazy villager since one moved out in December, but I managed to wind up with two more Snoots. Now I have 3 Snooty (Purrl, Eloise, Mint), 2 Peppy (Bonbon, Flora), 2 Normal (Midge, Marina), 1 Uchi (Agnes), and ew Iggly, a Jock, moved in. If I need to have dudes, I want Lazy ones, not Jocks. At least he didn't disrupt my chocolate path.. Though that only leaves me worrying about where the next animal will move in, lol.

I agree on the villager exchange thing, too. It'd be nice to have one around here. Just wish I had known Pietro was so popular before I banished him to the void. Whoops.

So I've only owned one Animal Crossing game - the one for the DS - and was just wondering how is it different from that? Seems like the same concept to me, but I could be wrong.

There were a lot of little changes, the main one being that the plot is different. For one thing, you enter the town and upon arrival there's some mistake that causes everyone to think you're the new Mayor. Tortimer, the mayor in the previous games, has retired. You have a few different dialogue options, but no matter which you choose they basically reply with something along the lines of "Don't be silly, we know you're the mayor!"
So the whole game basically revolves around you doing the same things you could do in previous games (collecting furniture, paying off your home, decorating the town with paths and plants and trees, etc) but with some major revamps seeing as, well, you're now the mayor. There's a new feature called Public Works Projects where you can set up little projects around the town; Things like benches, trellises, a campsite, etc. You can also enact ordinances, the villagers look up to you and come to you for more than they used to, etc.

So yeah, there are some little things as well as some rather big changes. It does, of course, have aspects from the previous games, but all the changes are definitely worth the buy! Especially the graphics!

The concept and core gameplay is basically the same, but they update each version with added, improved features and better graphics (I turned on Wild World the other day and couldn't believe my eyes lol).

Think of it like the Sims - gameplay always revolves around the same tasks, but the new games are just updated versions of the old ones.

(first of all, you have a AMAZING signature and avatar!)

Well, I played all animal crossing since gamecube, and I always said it was the ebst and no other animal crossing was better than this one. Always. For years. Until now.

For me the DS one was the worst. City Folks (wii) was alright, but not as Gamecube.

Animal Crossing: new leaf has better graphics than the DS, you are the mayor so you choose some decisions for the town and you have to collect money for some stuff instead of just pay your rent. You can choose the "shape" of your town. You can unlock some shops. So it's all small changes but for a fan of Animal Crossing these changes are really nice :) There is other small changes that are cool too.

A lot of people I talk to said it was the best animal crossing after gamecube.
