    Benjamin Whistler
A little disappointed Mr. Stern had disappeared instead of sticking around for the photo, Benjamin lifted the camera to his eyes, taking a few happy snaps at Ms. Briar and Mr. Lorantos. He lowered his camera and gave them a wave, gesturing he had done taking photos and they could return to whatever they were doing. He did join them at the market though, browsing through the wares with keen interest. Everything looked so... adventurous! He would have to collaborate with Mr. Fisher soon, with all these photos he had been taking. Perhaps the movie-maker knew some things about photography as well! He would have to, wouldn't he? To take wonderful scenes for this movie he was making about Apollo? Benjamin took another photo of the market and recovered his manners, pointing at some of the items.

"A P-potion and a PokéBall, p-please! Oh, and some, and some Water and Rations." The merchant handed him his items, for which he took Benjamin's money for. He stashed his new explorer-y things into his bag and turned to Mr. Briar. "It's all s-so very ex-exciting, isn't it, Ms. Br-briar?" he gave her a genuine smile. He felt so giddy with excitement right now that his stutter was a bit more pronounced than usual. Elenore gave a squark of excitement from his shoulder. He wasn't sure if she was telling him to calm down or simply agreeing with his excitement. "Where are y-you off t-t-to now?"

  • Akira Johnson - Beachcliffe Cave

    One..
    Two...

The Zubat burst from the Pokèball. Akira groaned and watched the zubat charge. It's because it used leech life.. It absorbs health points from Bon-Bon and uses it as it's own. She reminded herself. Bon-Bon, use flail!" She called, watching the Bonsly and the Zubat charge each other. "Jump Bon-Bon!" She called, just as the Zubat was about to bite. Bon-Bon pommeled the Zubat with it's lib-mbs, and backed away. The Zibat readied itself, and made a high-pitched screech that hurt Akira's ears. She looked over at Bon-Bon, who had it's back turned to her. "Bon-Bon?" She called, and was surprised to find the Bonsly was confused.

Oh, no! If Bon-Bon is confused, that means it could hurt itself! She thoughy to herself. She looked at the now dazed Bon-Bon, and knew the Zubat would attack at any moment. Guess I have to--

    Rmmbl!

The ground, it's shaking!! Akira thought. But she couldn't leave yet, not without the Pokèmon she deserved. She had waited to llng, however, and the Zubat was now charging Bon-Bon in an attemp at leech life. "Bon-Bon, use flail!" She called hopefully, begging that it could hear her. Bon-Bon stayed there, and when the Zubat got close, it pounded it's limbs against the Zubat's head. Akira breathed a sigh of relief, and waited before calling another command. "Flail!"

Bon-Bon charged into Zubat, who dodged by flapping it's wings. Zubat used supersonic again, but Bon-Bon dodged the best it could. "Copycat, go!" Akira cheered happily. Bon-Bon, copied, and used supersonic after Akira covered her ears. Zubat became confused as well, and charged into a rock with leech life. "Alright, use flail!" She called. Bon-Bon obeyed, and sent a furry of smacks off on Zubat. Zubat bounced back, and snapped out of confusion. It lowered it's height, evidently weaker now, and hopefully ready to give up.

Akira called to Bon-Bon, and used a potion. Just as Bon-Bon faced Zubat, it charged to use leech life. Bon-Bon dodged, and Akira called for flail. Pounding the Zubat with it's limbs, Bon-Bon stepped back. Akira could tell the Zubat was weak. It was flying much slower, and it's movements were sluggish. It's time. She took another ball from her belt, and threw it at the Zubat.

    C'mon..

    Barry Lorantos
Beachcliffe Village > Route 1 > Beachcliffe Cave
After Benjamin shot the photos of the two, Barry decided to head to Route 1. He wanted another Pokémon, and he never found cave Pokémon all that useful. He ran out of the building, rushed to Route 1 without halting, then he remembered the stone he had. The merchant had said something about an odd wall in Beachcliffe Cave, so he decided to head there.

A lot of people were already in the cave. A few Zubat flew overhead, A Diglett burrowed through the ground below him. Two Diglett were dueling eachother. But that was all he could see. The darkness enveloped everything behind it. It was okay for now, though, and so he continued through the cave.

For some reason, the wild Pokémon didn't seem to notice him. That is, until he stepped on one. Mistaking it for a rock, he had stomped on a Geodude as he went through the cave. The wonders of darkness.

As Buizel was behind him, the wild Geodude Tackled Buizel.
"Sonic Boom!" Barry ordered. Buizel released a painful sound that dealt high damage on the Geodude. It was barely concious after the attack.

"Go, Pokéball!" Barry called. It hit the Geodude. Barry closed his eyes and waited for the click.

After finishing her statement to Benjamin, Anise turned to conclude her discussion with the merchant, however to her surprised it seemed someone had beat her to the punch. A young man wearing a particularly noticeable Fedora just purchased the rock while she was distracted. Mr Lorantos, she believed Benjamin just called her. The boy turned to the girl and said a set of remarkable words:

"Uhh, sorry if you wanted that,"

The audacity! Anise's blood boiled as she watched him move on to talk to Benjamin. She wasn't even so upset that the boy had bought the rock before her, she honestly brought the topic up so that someone might be able to save her some money, but to go out of the way and buy the stone when it was offered to her for free and then to say that afterwards? This guy was an underserving little dirtbag who deserved something terrible to happen to him. Her mind began to contort a number of plans while the group prepared for the picture. Once the pictures were taken and Benjamin finally left the building her anger faded and she went back to the merchant.

The merchant gave a quick apology regarding the stone, but let her know that his offer still stood if she happened to find anything. Anise couldn't blame the man for taking an opportunity to make money.

"Don't worry about it, but since the stone's gone, I'll be buying one of your sols. I think I'm going start a collection."

The girl put on her usual grin. Pointing out the bead she wanted, she handed the merchant some more money (-950P) and completed her transaction. With her work done, she moved her way to leave the shop only to be stopped once again by the young man with his camera.

    "It's all s-so very ex-exciting, isn't it, Ms. Br-briar?"

She was a little put off by his stuttering, but continued with her answer as usual.

"Yeah this is all so unreal. I didn't think someone would try to cheat me so soon though." Anise gave a laugh. Goldenrod was full of scum so she was used to people trying to take advantage of her and furthermore her mother, but to really take an opportunity away from a 15 year old girl just peeved her.

"Where are y-you off t-t-to now?" The young man asked her, continuing his stutter. Anise tried to figure what he was so nervous about. Her first thought that he was probably trying to impress her, but he seemed a little too old for her, even with his dweeby disposition. Her mind quickly wandered in speculation and decided it would be best to see a little bit more of his character.

"I think I'm going off to that cave, even if Mr. Fedora stole that stone from me. There might just be something to find just yet and some revenge to be had. You want to come along?"
Anise gained:A Sol of Tyche, an incredibly dislike for Barry Lorantos, and an even more despicable plan!
    Anise lost: 950P.
    Current P: 450P.

    Spoiler:

Timothy- Day 1 Morning -Route 1
    Darumaka
Tim looked down at the glyph, staring at its image. He couldn't make heads or tails of it. It would probably be better to examine it when he had more time. Probably after he got through these woods. Tim continued forwards, tirelessly. The person at the front was now ahead of him, battling with a Bulbasaur. He was losing time. Getting to the next town before nightfall is very important. However, Tim had no idea how long this route was. Maybe a shortcut could be found by cutting through the woods. "Hah! Trainer!" A young trainer, probably in his early twenties with a Bunnelby by his side, stands in front of Timothy. "Fresh off the boat are we? How about I interest you to a Pokémon battle? Eh? Wanna taste of someone who's been to Camp Kangaskhan and back?"

Tim started at the guy. He had looked much younger than him. Those were the days, when he was more limber. More fit. When he was constantly off adventuring. The Pokemon next to the kid Tim couldn't place the name of. He new it was from the Kalos region, the only known region which Tim hadn't been to. Deciding to take advantage of the tech which was given to him, Tim pulled Heather's Pokedex out of his pocket. Holding it up at the Pokemon he pressed the red button which had 'identify' etched into it. The Pokedex droned out, "Bunnebly. The Digging Pokemon. It has ears like shovels. Digging holes strengthens its ears so much that they can sever thick roots effortlessly." That didn't sound too menacing to Tim. A creature with powerful ears. So his Darumaka just had to dodge the ears. Then again, Tim hadn't seen his Darumaka yet. What if-

"You going to fight me or not?" Tim sighed. If Darumaka fainted, well. This could be problematic to say the least. Taking a step back, Tim reached into his backpack and pulled the Pokeball from the pocket on its side. Throwing the Pokeball at the ground in front of him, his new Darumaka appeared, and the Pokeball popped back into his hand. The Darumaka looked slightly disoriented. It would probably be good to know what moves it knew, so Tim pointed at the little red ball looking Pokemon.

"Darumaka, the Zen Charm Pokemon. When its internal fire is burning, it cannot calm down and it runs around. When the fire diminishes, it falls asleep. Moves known: Tackle, Rollout." Tim waited for another move, but the Pokedex had fallen silent. Two moves. Two moves. How was he supposed to have a fighting chance with two moves? The person across from him rolled his eyes, now knowing Darumaka's move-set. That probably was not the best idea...

"Bunnelby, use Leer." Tim was caught completely off guard, as was his Darumaka. The Bunnelby glared at Darumaka with such hatred. Tim wondered if there was something wrong with the cute bundle of fur, had never seen that much aggression in a Leer before. Darumaka shrunk away from the angry Pokemon. Tim waited for Darumaka to retaliate. Instead it just stared at Tim. Oh right, Darumaka wasn't used to Tim's counter style of battling.

    "Darumaka use-"

"Bunnelby, Quick Attack." The Pokemon lunged at Darumaka as the kid's speech cut Tim's off. The Bunnelby collided with Darumaka. With its defense already low, Darumaka tumbled over.

"Tackle Darumaka." Darumaka rolled so he was standing up. The Bunnelby got up, but was met with the bulk of Darumaka. They fell over together, Darumaka lying onto of the Bunnelby, except that in its roundness, it rolled off, its tiny arms flailing in the area. Tim resisted the urge to face-palm as his Darumaka rolled around.

"Now use Tackle!" The opposing trainer called out. The Bunnelby jumped at Darumaka, but as Darumaka struggled to get up it rolled to the side, completely off balance. The Bunnelby looked angry that it missed and Tackled Darumaka which rolled off of the path and into the woods, sent twirling by the impact. This gave Tim an idea. His Darumaka was extremely good a rolling, maybe using his other move would be good.

"Darumaka use Rollout," Darumaka, which was lying haphazardly on its side complied, rolling forwards towards the Bunnelby. At a slower speed Darumaka collided with the other Pokemon, however they where not moved too much.

"Bunnelby use Agility!" The other Pokemon jumped backwards, running quickly away from Tim's Pokemon. Tim watched as Darumaka curved around, chasing after Bunnelby, gaining speed. The Bunnelby jumped to the side as Darumaka made a pass. That Agility would be very annoying. Tim had learned how to use Rollout effectively, as Sticks, his main Pokemon back at home had had it. The Bunnelby moving would be no problem soon as Darumaka gained speed. "Bunnelby! USE QUICK ATTACK!" The opposing trainer yelled out. He clearly didn't know how Rollout worked. Which was perfect. Bunnelby charged at the oncoming Darumaka which had turned around and was hurtling at the Pokemon. The Bunnelby smashed into Darumaka. Who was going very quickly at this point, and completely mowed over the Bunnelby. The Bunnelby stuck to the ground and Darumaka flew into the air, the opposing Pokemon's head causing it to jump.

The Bunnledy, crushed into the ground tried to get up, "GET UP BUNNELBY! QUICK!" Its trainer called feverishly.

"Finish it off Darumaka," Tim called out confidently. His Pokemon went in for another pass. The struggling Bunnelby got completely crushed under Darumaka. Darumaka kept rolling, its speed getting out of control. Darumaka ran into a tree, as it had no ability to stop. Darumaka got up clumsily and looked in the direction of the Bunnelby. However, it looked incredibly dizzy and fell over. It groaned a soft, "Maka..."

"Bunnelby? Bunnelby?" The trainer got no answer from the fainted Pokemon. Tim sighed as the trainer returned the Pokemon. The Rollout strategy worked well. He would have to train Darumaka's Rollout though. It was starting to look very dizzy, and repetitive usage of that move would prove a disadvantage. The other trainer groaned and walked up to Tim. He stopped in front of Tim and glared at him.

"Hello?" Tim said questioningly. What on earth was this kid doing?

The kid rolled his eyes, "Here's your prize money. Just. Go away." The kid handed over 500P and pouted walking down the path. Tim looked confusedly after the kid and pocket the money. Well they certainly did things differently here. Continuing down the path, Tim had absentminded forgot to return Darumaka who chased after him cutely. The Darumaka tapped on Tim's leg and Tim looked down at him.

"Whoops," Tim exclaimed, "Forgot about you for a second there. Okay, time for you to go back into your ball." Darumaka stared innocently up at Tim as he pulled out his Pokeball. Pressing the white button Darumaka was enveloped in a red light an carried into the Pokeball. Tim smiled vaguely, but then continued walking on his way.

The PokéDex seemed to beep loudly after Darumaka had been returned. It seemed he had fainted just after the battle! It would probably be a good idea to turn around and heal it up in case any other trainers or Pokémon ambush Timothy. It would be much safer to go to the PokéCentre in Beachcliffe than try and get through Route 1 and find a medic in the next town.

Benjamin couldn't help but laugh at Ms. Briar's comment. As nerdy as Benjamin knew he looked, he knew he couldn't go any lower than wearing a fedora. He seemed rude, but at least he had complied to a photo. He pulled out his journal, quickly jotting down a few notes as Ms. Briar asked him a question.

'Anise Briar seems nice. Barry Lorantos was rather rude, but nothing to be surprised about. I should be on the lookout for any other unsavoury journeyers. Though, which are the most likely to find the treasure? The ones who try for alliances or the ones who only help themselves?'

    "You want to come along?"

Benjamin looked up from his journal. She was much younger than him, but seemed mature for her age. Probably a lot more confident than Benjamin could ever be. Probably a thousand times better at Pokémon battling as well. If he could get some pictures... They would look great for the article or book or whatever he was writing. He shoved his journal back into his bag, nodding hastily.

"Yes please!" Elenore squarked again from his shoulder. "I think s-some photos of anything remotely historic w-would look fantastic! You d-d-don't mind if I take, if I take photos, do you?" He gestured to the camera. It had a flash on it, so hopefully that wouldn't be too distracting.

  • Akira Johnson - Beachcliffe Cave >> Route 1

    One..
    Two...
    Three..
    Click!

The pokèball fell to the ground, the Zubat trapped inside. No time to celebrate! She reminded herself, the rumbling getting louder. Returning Bon-Bon to her ball, she ran the best she could over to Zubat. Once Akira added the ball to her belt, she hightailed it out of there as fast as she could. Outside of the cave, the rumbling had finally stopped. With a loud sigh of relief, Akira headed to the Pokèmon Centre to heal. When the healing was over she thanked the nurse and released her pokèmon. The newly refreshed Bon-Bon was relaxing as usuall, and she looked over at her freshly cuaght Zubat. "You need a name.." She said thoughtfully.

"Hmm.. How about Zeus?" She asked, watching the Zubat intently. The Zubat gave a playful screech, and it was decided. Akira took the pokèball from her belt, and held it in front of Zeus. "Alright Zeus, return." She said happily. She turned to Bon-Bon, who gave a cheerful "Bon!" before waddling over to her. I used two poke-èballs before, and a potion. If I keep using up my pokèballs like that I'll be in trouble. She let Bon-Bon hop into her arms, and headed for route one.

Akira looked around the entrance. There was a long path, and she was sure there would be a few trainers up ahead. She stood there for a few moments, trying to take in the scenery, and began to venture into the route. The grass was thick, but not to the point were it was impassable. Akira put Bon-Bon in her ball, afraid to lose her in the grass, and added the ball back to her belt. She shuffled through the grass, and found herself stepping on something.

"Piiiiiiie! Something growled. "AAAAHH!" Akira screamed at the top of her lungs, startled by whatever she stepped on. She grabbed Bon-Bon's pokèball, and released her. After taking a deep breath, she peeked down at what she'd stepped on. A pokèmon?! It was so squishy!! She cringed at the feeling under her shoe. But the pokèmon was cute, that is until it used tackle on the unaware Bon-Bon. She tumbled back, and jumped up eagerly. "Booon!" Bon-Bon called, waiting for a command. Taking out her PokèDex, Akira scanned the pokèmon. Caterpie? It's kinda cute.. She thought. "Alright, use copycat!" Akira called, losing the 'it's-so-cute' attitude. Bon-Bon charged the caterpie, who flew back. Caterpie hopped up as if it were nothing, and retaliated with it's own tackle.

"Counter it with Flail Bon-Bon!" Akira shouted, watching the Caterpie charge. Just as the Caterpie was about to hit, Bon-Bon pounded it's head by flailing her head limbs. "Bon, Bon, Bon!" Caterpie cried, and lifted itself. Bending it's body in a 'C', Caterpie shot a sticky string around Bon-Bon's legs. Bon-Bon fell to the ground, and Caterpie took the opportunity to use tackle. "Wiggle out Bon-Bon!" Akira coaxed her. Bon-bon wiggled and waggled her short legs, trying her best to free herself. But unfortunately to no avail, and Caterpie soon charged head first into her side, causing the string to rip. As Bon-bon continued to roll, Akira made a face. No Caterpie's gonna make a fool of my pokèmon! She repeated mentally. "Bon-Bon, use flail on my signal!" She called angrily.

Caterpie charged, ready to make another tackle, and was surprised when Bon-Bon rolled to the side. "Now, use Flail!" Akira called. Bon-Bon wacked Caterpie with it's limbs, and continued to do so until Caterpie tackled her. Now on top of Bon-Bon, the caterpie used a head-on tackle, causing Bon-Bon to make a strangled cry. "B-Bon-Bon, use flail!" She cried. Bon-Bon managed to knock caterpie off with flail, and Akira called for copycat, making Bon-Bon tackle the caterpie relentlessly. Now weak, Akira decided to try her luck with the Caterpie, and launched a pokèball from her belt.

"Yes please! – squawk- I think s-some photos of anything remotely historic w-would look fantastic! You d-d-don't mind if I take, if I take photos, do you?" He gestured to the camera. It had a flash on it, so hopefully that wouldn't be too distracting."

Despite Benjamin continuing with his annoying stutter, Anise was quite happy with his response.

"Pictures are always nice anyways; best way to remember things after all. I don't think the flash will be a problem. It'll probably be helpful in the, presumably, dark cave anyways. "

With some words of goodbyes, the two left the merchant and proceeded to the all so popular cave. With a quick peer into the mouth of the cave footprints made it was pretty clear that there has been quite the bit of activity in this cave recently; just as Anise had planned. The girl grinned at the prospect.

"Come on Ben, most of the pokemon in the cave have probably been cleared out by now."

This was the one of the assumptions Anise had made when deciding on whether she would venture into the cave or not. She figured people would have gotten their before her either by chance or from her inquiring into the history behind the mysterious rock it in front of the growing crowd near the merchant. Her primary motivation was to find a group to go with to keep her safe in case the cave was a little too dangerous to go alone, though having people clear pathways before her was a good alternative. Ultimately, she got a little bit of both, as she has Ben by her side and people already ahead of her. She even expected that the rock would be taken away from her, in fact she initially preferred it as she would have been able to save money, though with the exact events playing out how they did, she wasn't quite the happiest with the results still the rudeness Lorantos still peeved her, but that little issue would be handled later.

Sadly, her assumption regarding the wild pokemon didn't seem to come to be true. Within just a few steps into the cave, Anise faced her first wild pokemon: a single mild-manner diglett minding his own business in front of her and Benjamin's path. Though easily ignored, Anise figured this would be a good opportunity. She looked over to Stratos, who had been flying around her vicinity since their arrival on the island, fairly disinterested in the beginning of Anise's epic. She looked over to Ben to give some words.

"I'm going to try and catch this guy, so don't disturb me."

Before waiting on a response, she went back to her Swablu and deciding to give him direction.

"Okay Stratos it's time to prove his worth, start off with a peck attack … erm …"

Anise clumsily pulled out her pokedex to make sure that the bird pokemon actually knew the move. Fortunately her guess was correct and the pokemon had already dived down, initiating a battle with the poor, innocent, sweet, darling Diglett. The Diglett didn't seem too sturdy as the sudden plop to the head dealt a good amount of damage. In response it burrowed underground to prevent future assault.

"Well that was anticlimactic…" Anise said rather sadly before being surprised by a sudden blur popping out of the ground.
It seems to make up its low defense the pokemon was very quick, in an instant the small pokemon flew from the ground and scratched at Stratos, instantly burrowing back in the ground. The movement was so quick, Anise nearly missed the attack. Her heart raced at the notion of her first real pokemon battle. She tried to analyze an appropriate means for fighting back against the Diglett.

    "Stratos use peck again!"

The bird listen to its trainer's command and waited for the Diglett to reappear. Plopping from the ground again, the bird tried to hit the speedy devil, but by the time the bird was ready to react the pokemon had already flown past it, scratch at the Swablu's face.

"He's already weaken, but I doubt Stratos will be able to hit him again easily..."

"What moves does Stratos know again? There's peck, growl, and astonish! That might just be the secret to beating this guy." Anise listed off while looking at the pokedex analysis of her pokemon. Astonish was a move that had the capability of flinching an opponent through surprise. Though Anise wasn't quite sure how the move worked, it seemed like the only viable means of attack.

"Stratos dodge and try to use astonish before he attacks you!"

While Anise was in thought, the Diglett pulled another aerial attack on Swablu. The pokemon tried to attack in response, but by the time the bird was ready, the Diglett was already in the ground, safe from assault. Her brilliant idea was a lot less helpful in practice. Anise grimaced seeing that her plan wouldn't be as easy to pull off as she had hoped. She tried to create a new strategy. Carefully watched the Diglett's tracks movements to see if there was any way she could help in the fight. There is so much thought in being a trainer Anise briefly thought, tracking the movement of the diglett's tracks. Another flying scratch attack came in forcing the Swablu to the ground.

    "Stratos!"

Fear crept into Anise's heart as she called out. Fortunately, the pokemon managed to stand, just in time for another attack from the Diglett. This was her opportunity. I like it. She grinned shouting for her pokemon to attack.

    "Now! Astonish!"

Just as the Diglett jumped from its hole a surprising screech came from the small bird pokemon. Astonished by the sudden call the Diglett made an error in its attack leading Stratos easily dodging it by flying right above it. The Swablu then pecked down on the pokemon below it, plowing it into the ground. In almost instinctual response, Anise threw out her pokemon before the Diglett had an opportunity to return to the ground.

    I hope this works...

With a flash of red light the pokeball fell to the ground, Diglett inside, it bouncing back and forth signaling the chance of capture.

"We… we did it!" a surprised Yukari jumped up and down with joy, her Misdreavus cheerfully floating around her. "Thank you so much, Yume!" the girl said and hugged her Pokémon tight.

Misdreavus felt proud of her first battle. She had learned a whole lot from it and she felt stronger and more confident in her strength and that of her trainer. Watching Yukari hop around in excitement and the pretty smile on her face, Yume felt even more determined to become stronger and make her trainer happy. The two hadn't been partners for a long time, but Yukari had been amazing as a trainer so far and managed to earn Yume's respect and adoration. That was good enough of a reason for the Pokémon to want to get even stronger and, who knows, maybe even evolve one day.

Yukari picked up the Pokéballs from the ground and sat on a rock nearby to catch her breath after all the hopping around. She looked Yume up and down proudly and she felt happy to have her as her partner. Their great success motivated the girl to learn more about what being a trainer means and to grow into a great trainer, worthy of all of her Pokémon's hard work.

As the two were enjoying a moment of rest, the noise from deep inside the cave grew even closer and was soon topped with a scream. Before she had the time to react, Yukari could see a young man fleeing the cave, running as if his life was in danger, closely followed by a tiny Zubat. She couldn't help but watch him run by, wondering what had happened. Soon enough, the ground started shaking, and Yukari found out the reason the boy ran off the way he did. A large group of furious Diglett were chasing him. The girl quickly climbed on the rock she had been sitting on and wrapped her arms around Misdreavus, holding the Pokémon tight. Fortunately, the Diglett paid no attention to her and simply returned underground, once the young man was out of sight. Just now, she was beginning to realiz that the cave was a dangerous place so she decided they should be leaving as well.

Just as she was about to get moving, she briefly caught glimpse of a dark-haired girl, heading towards the exit as well. She figured she could try catching up and maybe befriending her, but her cheeks quickly turned rosy as she shook her head and lowered her eyes shyly, as if the other girl could hear her thoughts or even see her.

Closer to the exit, she spotted the adorable-looking white-haired girl and her Swablu, accompanied by the nerdy-looking boy that loved taking pictures. The girl seemed to be busy battling a Diglett, while the boy watched the battle with a gleam in his eyes and his camera ready, as always. The girl didn't want to disturb the battle, but the two were kind of in her way so she got as close to the cave wall as she could and quietly tiptoed outside while holding her breath, her Misdreavus following her cautiously. The pair looks quite funny, trying to sneak about, but it seemed like the two she was trying so hard not to disturb, didn't even notice her.

Once she was outside, Yukari let out a sigh of relief then happily started running back towards the Marketplace.

"Hurry up, Yume! " she shouted excitedly. She was so close to obtaining the book that she could barely contain her excitement anymore. She figured she'd stop by the Pokémon Center first though so she soon changed course and went up the hill, towards the Center. Once there, she handed over her Pokémon to the Nurse and plopped herself on a couch lazily.

While waiting, she couldn't help but notice the strange young man that had dashed out of the cave followed by his Zubat. She figured he was too frightened and too busy running away to notice her back there so she didn't even bother to interact with him.

Soon enough, her Pokémon were all feeling better so she retrieved her pokéballs and dashed outside happily.

"Come out, everybody!" she shouted as she threw her Pokéballs up in the air and Yume, Zubat and Diglett popped out with happy cries.

Yukari cheerfully greeted Zubat and Diglett and could soon notice just how different they seemed, by the way they acted towards her. She decided to take a walk with her Pokémon, trying to decide which one to part with in exchange for the merchant's book. They were the first Pokémon she had captured and they already were important to her. But she made a promise and she was going to keep it, book or no book.

The group stopped on the beach and Yukari sat down on the same rock as before and sighed, causing her Pokémon to gather around her and curiously look at her.

"You know…. We won't be together for much longer" she said, looking at Zubat and Diglett with teary eyes. "I promised I'd catch a Pokémon for someone and I kept my promise, but parting with either one of you is so hard" she went on in a soft, low voice.

The Zubat and the Diglett looked at her just as curiously and cluelessly as before, as the girl struggled to make her choice.

"This is so unfair!" she finally bursted as she jumped up. "I can't choose!" she went on and then recalled both Zubat and Diglett.

She then placed both Pokéballs on the rock before her and stared at them for a great deal of time, until Yume got so worried that she used Psywave to snap her trainer out of that state.

"I know what to do now!" she finally said as she picked up both Pokéballs and turned towards Yume, softly stroking the Pokémon's cheek.

    "Let's go, Yume!"

    "Misdreavus!" Yume approved cheerfully.

The Pokémon was relieved to see her trainer feeling determined once again and smiling and hopping about cheerfully as usual. She closely followed her trainer, watching her every move with her gentle eyes. She now knew that the two of them would make a great team and that they'd forever be friends.

Soon enough, Yukari and Yume reached the merchant that promised the girl a book in exchange of a Pokémon. She cheerfully greeted the merchant then took out one of the Pokéballs from her pocket and extended her hand towards the merchant. After a brief moment of hesitation, she pulled out the second Pokéball as well and then placed them both in the clerk's hands.

"I accidentally caught two of them. You can have them both." She said and smiled kindly, convinced that this was the right thing to do.

    Alan Destin

    Pokemon:
    Spoiler:

    Spoiler:

A cool, dim light slipped between the curtains as Alan Destin's eyes flickered open, breaking his deep sleep. Having been asleep the whole night, he had not known that the ship had and was subsequently preparing to leave. Unaware of the fact, Alan moved slowly from his bed before starting his typical routine of getting ready for the day. Freshening up and dressing quite quickly, he looked to the small puppy-like Pokemon at the foot of his bed. He was a Electrike and to be more precise, Alan's new partner on his Apolloian exploration mission. Of course, Alan wouldn't leave the Pokemon with it's original name.

"Flash," the young man said. "It's time to wake up." Okay, maybe the name wasn't too unique... Nonetheless, it got the job done and his partner didn't seem to be bothered by it.

Merely flicking his ears in response, the dog-like Pokemon soon attempted to stand, stretching his body as he did so. Looking to his partner with a trustful glance, the Pokemon seemed to make a smile, prepared to leave. The two had only been together for about three days now, but even with that little amount of time, the two had already begun to understand each other's personalities and attributes, and to be honest, that was something extremely needed by partners.

But the two weren't the only ones getting close. For the past three days, multiple other trainers/explorers had been on the same ship, their eyes set on the same objective as Alan has. They were after the mysterious treasure of the ancient Apolloian royalty. Though they were essentially enemies, Alan had talked to quite a few of them and while he barely remembered many of their names, October Carter had seemed to stand out a bit. To Alan, she was a pretty nice person, but she also seemed to be one of the only experienced explorers there.

Moments passed before a horn sounded, alerting the young man of the ship's readiness to embark. "Damn," sighed Alan. "It looks like we should be running or we won't make it." Giving his new partner a smirk, Alan moved towards the door at the end of cabin, quickly opening it before running down the passage and towards the dock, Flash right behind him. Below him, Alan felt the ship begin to move with each step, the horn honking more and more before finally reaching the side closest to the dock. "So you wanna jump with me or get in your Pokeball?"

Flash barked eagerly at his trainer and jumped onto the railing, angling his trajectory before springing towards the dock, landing on all fours. "He thinks it's all a game," said Alan. "If I were to jump straight onto it I'd break my legs." Eyeing the water, Alan positioned himself to jump. "Cannon Ball!"

Within seconds, he felt the sting of impact and the loss of oxygen as he became surrounded by the ocean. Pulling himself upward, Alan coughed a bit of water from his mouth. I probably should have taken a larger breath before jumping, he thought.

Hearing a bark escape from Flash's mouth, the trainer waded towards the beach, eventually receiving a welcome tackle from the young Electrike. "You are so freaking restless." Turning his gaze to the embarked ship, Alan smiled, realizing that he could have been heading straight home had he not awoken in time. They probably even tried to wake me, he thought, and I slept right through it. Scolding himself aside, Alan took a few minutes to dry off and assess any water damage to his supplies, which was surprisingly low thanks to the tarpaulin.

Unfortunately, the supplies he did have happened to be low in the first place with only one bottle of water and no food whatsoever. If he was to make a journey through the untamed wilderness, rations may be what he needs the most. Understanding this, the young man made his way to the market which was remarkably close to the port. Seeing that the entire place seemed to be solely comprised of vendor-style stands, he went to the closest one, Flash close in tow, with a middle-aged woman behind the counter.

"Welcome to Apollo young man!" she said happily. "Feel free to browse my small, but useful collection of supplies. For most of these thing, such as the Pokéballs, we have more in the back if you need it."

Alan flashed a smile at the vendor before he let his eyes scour the stand, analyzing each and every item. Most of them were ordinary things one would find in you neighborhood PokéMart while others were more unique. They were Apollan. They were sols of two different colors and sizes, the only things similar being the shape and the small holes used to thread the stone onto something.

"Ma'am, what exactly are these sols?" he asked. If he was going to be in this region, he needed to know what he had at his disposal.

"Ah, Sols!" The merchant smiled, her eyes falling on the bead on Alan's bracelet. "Yes, they are a mysterious thing. I don't know much, but I've heard people say they can... kind of give you special abilities. Kind of. Like, some can make you lucky or somehow make people like you better. I even heard a traveler say he saw someone shoot fireballs from his mouth. I'm a bit skeptical, honestly, but you never know. There's apparently an 'appraiser'," the merchant air-quoted the word appraiser with a hint of sarcasm added on to it, "in the next town over, so he might tell you what yours can do."

Alan gave a small nod and turned his eyes to two more spots. "Do you happen to have anymore of whatever was in these empty spots?"

The woman merely gave a sigh and a small frown before answering. "Well, the item in this spot was given to me by one of the early travelers here. He had found it in the cave towards the end of the beach. It was slightly similar to the Sols, but at the same time you knew it wasn't that. Eventually, a young man had bought it while I was telling the story of it to a young girl." She gave yet another sigh as if she was slightly irritated that she had let it happen.

"I assume the both went towards the cave. I believe the girl even had her own photographer following her. Poor boy, he seemed so shy."

Alan gave a tiny smirk as he thought of the people she was referring to. It was easy to see who the boys were, especially after spending three days on a boat with them. Maybe I should head over there too, he thought. The rock must have some mystery to solve. "And what about the other slot?"

"Ah, well that one has a similar story to it. It was found by another explorer who had found it somewhere in the route to the North of here. If i remember correctly, it was a glyph in the shape of... Oh, what was it? A cross?" She gave a cough before continuing. "Anyways, do you see anything you like?"

"Well," he said, pointing at one of the sols. "I'll take that, two things of rations and a bottle of water."

The woman gave a smile and collected the items, seemingly doing the math in her head on how much he would owe. "This'll be 1500P," she said, placing the items in front of him.

Alan frowned upon realizing that was all he had. I guess I have to spend money to make money, he thought as he handed her all he had. He happily took his new items and organized them into his bag, bar the sol. That he would put on the bracelet.

Removing the accessory, Alan untied it, slowly making the string long enough to thread his new sol on to it. I so hope these things are useful.

Kindly, the vendor at Alan said their goodbyes as he walked towards the beach, Flash running before him. "Woah," he yelled, slightly surprised from the pokémon's reappearance. He was so calm during Alan's conversation, he had practically forgot about him. "It looks like someones happy."

The dog pokémon merely gave him a playful look before running ahead. Alan was so happy to have Flash as his partner. It wasn't everyday you found a pokémon so enthusiastic, especially with manners. Smiling, Alan chased after the pokémon.

The merchant beamed in happiness as Yukari approached the counter. She already had the journal and pens gripped in her hand but was rather taken aback when she handed her two PokéBalls.

"No, we can't have that! I can't take more than I asked, sweetie. See, I'll take..." the merchant stared at the balls in her hands, and deciding on the left hand, handed the right one back to Yukari. "I'll take this one."

She pushed the button on the ball, releasing a Zubat into the air above her. She shreiked in delight, pulling the unawares Zubat in for a hug.

"Thank you so much! Here, here's the journal and some pens just like I promised. There's 500P tucked in there, but here's some extra for being so generous!" She handed Yukari the journal and pens, turning her attention back to the Zubat. "Thanks again!!"

    Spoiler:
    Benjamin Whistler
Benjamin had taken photos of Pokémon Battles before but usually, he was standing in a crowd and the battlers were in the middle of a stadium. Being so close, he felt like he was a part of the action. Of course, there was nothing too historic looking in his general vacinity but the cave walls gave his pictures a rugged feel.

As Ms. Briar told her Swablu to Peck the Diglett again, Benjamin felt a snap at his feet. Ignoring it the first time, he yelped as something grabbed his leg and wouldn't let go. He looked down and shook his leg furiously, the Krabby at his leg refusing to let go. It looked like it was Benjamin's own time for a Pokémon battle if this thing wouldn't shake off.

"Ellie!" The bird on his shoulder squarked in reply. "Use... uh," of course, he had read the PokéDex thoroughly and learnt Elenore's moves, but his panic had gotten the best of him at the moment. Anise yelled at her own Pokémon to Peck, so Ben mimicked her, "use Peck!"

The Spearow dived from his shoulder, snapping her beak. She collided with the Krabby, who finally let go of poor Benjamin's leg. He stepped back and gave them some room, whimpering at the pain in his leg. The Krabby blew some rather ominous looking bubbles at Elenore. At first, Benjamin thought it was playing some kind of weird game, but no, it turned out that those were rather lethal bubbles, Elenore screeching as they popped on her feathers. Acid bubbles? Ugh, awful! At least Ben had found his tongue again.

"Leer!! And then Peck! You can do it!" Ben was half surprised that he seemed to lose his stutter when shouting and being all into the battling mood like this, but it wasn't really on his top list of things to think about right now. Elenore did a really great job of combining a terrifying look with a piercing attack, the Krabby running in the opposite direction trying to outrun both. A crab was much too slow for a vicious looking bird, and they collided together again. The Krabby wailed, tumbling over to its back, legs squirming in the air like a cockroach. Unable to attack, Elenore went for another Peck, landing it on its stomach which, according to Krabby's terrifying cry, was it's weak spot.

Right! When Pokémon were weak, you were meant to catch them! That's how it worked, right?

"Hold up, Ellie!" Elenore went for a third attack, but stopped at her trainer's request. Benjamin quickly grabbed a PokéBall from his bag, lobbing it at the crab Pokémon. His aim was terrible, smashing against the cave wall and breaking. Benjamin cursed under his breath, pulling out and throwing another. This one was less of an awful throw, hitting Krabby on the stomach and swallowing it with a red light. The ball tipped once... twice... three times... ding! Nice! He caught his first Pokémon! And he would just forget about his awful first throw and pretend it never happened.

Caught my first Pokémon within the cave underneath the cliff. A Krabby, a water type that spits lethal bubbles. I hope Elenore and it will get along alright. Lethal bubbles may come in handy one day.

With a blast the Diglett broke out of the ball. In a frantic panic the creature burrowed into the ground, and fled away from the scene. Anise considered chasing it, but on seeing that Stratos was in no condition to continue battling she dropped the idea. She called the bird over with her hands, bringing the pokemon to her arms.

"Guess I need to work on my trainer skills a little more huh?" Anise gave a weak grin while patting the birds head. "You've done a good job Stratos." With those words, Anise the weaken bird with a potion. The bird chirped in its rejuvenation, escaped from Anise's arms and proceeded to find a spot to sit on top of the girl's hat. Content with her pokemon's status she turned to Benjamin. It seems that through her focus she hadn't even notice that Benjamin began neither his own battle nor a trainer who tiptoed by earlier. Anise made a small mental note to work on her awareness during battle knowing well aware that being absent minded would get her in a lot of trouble in the future.

Anise managed to catch the last bits of his battle. She giggled when Benjamin completely missed his pokeball. I guess I shouldn't feel too bad about myself. However to her surprise however the young man managed to catch the Krabby with his second pokeball. "Congratulations!" Anise cheered, "Guess you're a better trainer than you look." Realizing how rude that statement might have come off as she quickly followed by saying, "Sorry. I guess I should say you're a much better trainer than me. Though I think I have a better arm." She tried to make light of both their shortcomings in order to feel a little better about herself. Anise was a little down about failing to catch the Diglett.

She came over to him after he finished writing in his journal.

"What are you going to name him?"
    Anise gained: Nothing.
    Anise lost: 1x Potion.

  • Akira Johnson - Route 1

Akira watched the ball shake, but soon enough a bright burst of light revealed an un-caught, fainted Caterpie. After a few moments, it lifted and scuttled away. Dang it! Thought I had it. She thought. She only had three pokèballs left, and with one potion, it was best that she went back to Beachcliffe Village.

"Can you handle a few hours of training Bon-Bon?"

The Bonsly nodded, and Akira continued on her path into the route. There weren't many trees, but there were a few berry bushes. Her first thought was to leave them be, but after she thought about it, it wasn't a bad idea. She walked over to a bush, and found three cream colored berries with dots. Sitrus berries. I'll just take two though. She thought, picking to berries from the bush. She handed a berry to Bon-Bon, who took a little nibble, gaining back a bit of her health points. Akira took the nibbled berry back, and held out her hands for Bon-Bon to jump in. She meandered down the path, holding the Bonsly in her arms. Soon enough, she had gotten lost, only to stare at the open route.

After a lot of roaming, she made it back onto the main path, and vowed not to stop for anymore berries. Unless there on the path that is... She reprimanded herself.

"How's about a switch? Get some rest Bon-Bon." Akira said.

She pulled the pokèball from her waistbelt, and sent Bon-Bon into her ball. Grabbing the next ball in the line, she released Zeus. With a burst of light, the pokèmon greetee her with a cheerful screech. Patting the Zubat, she continued on her way.

    "C'mon Zeus!" She called.

Drifting farther and farther back, the pokèmon seemed to be excited. Zeus looked at everything, and took in his suroundings. Zeus caught up, and they began their trip deeper into the route together. Zeus raced ahead at times, and Akira would have to call him back, but it was fine as long as he was having fun.

    Day 1 Chapter 1.6: Morning

    Pokemon:
    Spoiler:

    Spoiler:
    Benjamin Whistler
"I ap-apologise!" Ben said to Anise, sad that he had missed the end of Ms. Briar's battle, and even more so that she hadn't caught the Pokémon she wanted. "I hope that my b-battle had not interfered with yours! But, uh, th-thank-you very much."

"What are you going to name him?"

"Oh, uh." Benjamin looked at the PokéBall on the ground, stepping over to pick it up. It had taken him several hours to think up a name for Elenore. He wanted something bold, a nice solid name for her, but for this guy?

He released the Krabby onto the ground, who didn't immediately run to snap at his heels, much to his relief. Instead it looked up at him with its big eyes. It was a little creepy looking. Every now and again, it would snap one of its pincers, as if it was making a little song in his head. He literally picked the first name which popped into his head once he had realised that.

"Snaps!" he said, laughing a little. It sounded like a name a child would give a Pokémon, but it suited the Krabby, right? "It's kinda c-cute. Heh." He quickly jotted that down into his journal and stowed it back into his bag.

"Should we head further, further in? See what's at the end? You m-might be able to try c-catching a Pokémon again? Or just, or just train, I suppose. That t-too."

    Akira Johnson
"Hey, you!" An older trainer, maybe in her early thirties, approached Akira, a PokéBall ready in her hand. "You look like you're one of the new arrivals that just came in today! I challenge you to a Pokémon Battle!" It's too rude to refuse, and it doesn't look like she's giving you another choice anyway.

    Spoiler:

Timothy- Day 1 Morning -Route 1
    Sentrest
Tim sighed, and continued walking down the dirt path. He had beat somebody on his first try with a new Pokemon. That was good. With Sticks, his first Pokemon he faced was a Mudkip. One Water Gun fainted Sticks. He was still a Bonsly at that time. Tim's mouth curved into a smile, and his Darumaka hadn't fainted either-
a beeping noise came from the Pokedex tucked away safely in Tim's pocket. He pulled it out. Examining the layout he was slightly confused. It was different than his old Pokedex. In this Pokedex there was the red identify button on the side as usual, but there were also apps like on an X-Transciever. He scrolled through the apps finding none with notifications, until on the side he saw a roster of his team. He clicked on Darumaka. On Darumaka's page it showed a picture of a Darumaka and a bunch of traits. Accordingly Darumaka was Docile, level 6, knew the moves Tackle, Rollout, and Incinerate. Tim stopped. That last was new. Accordingly he was a male, so that was good. However, plastered over the picture of Darumaka was the big red word, "FAINTED" Darn it!

Tim turned around, there was no way he was about to use his only potion on an occasion like this, back at the town they probably had a Pokemon Center. Luckily he hadn't walked too far from the town, so he arrived at the exit pretty quickly. He looked around for a Pokemon Center. Although, he wasn't entirely sure what to look for. They obviously didn't have the big red and orange buildings like back at civilization. He finally located a sign which spelled it out for him. Inside he walked to a guy at the desk who said, "How can I help you?"

"I just need this healed, I'm kind of in a hurry, so could you do it as quickly as possible? Thanks," The man nodded and walked behind to desk to go do something. While he was waiting, Tim decided to examine to stone glyph again. It looked kind of like a t. Turning it, he tried to see anything else about it. But no. It was still just a t. On its side it looked like an x. But that wasn't that helpful. Sighing, he rubbed on it, maybe the stone was plastered on by disguise? Or he had just got a piece of junk for 900P. That was annoying. Very. Annoying. He was sure it did something though, it could have-

"Sir? Your Pokemon is done," The man interrupted his train of thought. Getting up, Tim took the Pokeball from him and put the Glyph in his backpack. He held Darumaka's Pokeball in his hand, deciding whether to let him out or not... Maybe later, here in this town with his rolling tendencies, he would just be a hazard. Tim was falling behind, on his way out of the forest a couple of people had passed him. That was not good. Tim left and room, and jogged to the forest entry, stopping there. He walked in quickly, but not jogging. In case something happened, he didn't want to use up all of his energy running. Walking quickly would suffice for now. He again considered sending out Darumaka, but it probably couldn't keep up with him. Secretly Tim knew he was delaying the inevitable. He didn't want to become too attached to this Pokemon, he didn't want to replace Sticks.

Tim walked faster, and he passed someone, but he didn't get their face. Continuing onwards, the road looked like it spilt, and Tim went to the right making a quick decision. While walking, he couldn't see the path too well. But now he could tell path was getting a lot more bumpy. Tim looked up to make sure he didn't hit anything, and it's a good thing he did too. The undergrowth had gotten thick, and he would have walked into a tree at some time or another. Tim walked forwards, now more slowly. He turned around and there was no path beind him. Sighing, he realized what had happened. He had just walked into the middle of the woods. He had walked down a small paved part of the road into nothing. Looking around, he admired the forest. On his right there was a small cottage, looking like it could fit a Pokemon. Tim stared at it. Where had he seen that design before? Hm...

A rustling came from the forest beside him. Tim looked over and saw a small Sentert. Tim smiled. A Sentret would be perfect for him. A Zigzagoon would have been better, but a Sentret would work alright. He didn't want to scare it though. Not yet anyways, it would run away. Slowly pulling out Darumaka's Pokeball he placed it on the ground and Darumaka appeared. Darumaka looked up at him smiling. Tim smiled back and whisper to his Darumaka, "Use- Incinerate, that's your new move right? Try to hit it and catch it off guard." Darumaka nodded, its whole body wobbling. It focused, concentrating on something in tangible. Suddenly it open its mouth and a short burst of fire flew out of it and strait at the Sentert. And it missed. Great. The Sentret looked at Darumaka, surprised and hissed angrily. Luckily the Incinerate hit the ground, not the the trees, otherwise they would have started a fire. That would not result well...

The Sentret squinted at Darumaka, examining him. Tim figured that was for Foresight, not that that would do anything against a fire type. "Darumaka, use Tackle!" Normally he would have ordered Rollout, but he didn't want to faint the Pokemon. Only catch it. Darumaka ran towards the little Pokemon and jumped into the air, aiming for it. The Sentret cocked its head to the side and jumped at Darumaka, brandishing its claws. The two collided, Darumaka's bulk and higher level over-powering the Sentret. It did smack Darumaka in the side of the head though, the claws digging into its fur. The Sentret flew few feet backwards, landing on the ground. Darumaka fell into a ball, and rolled, recovering easily. It scowled and rubbed the spot where the Sentret had just gouged it.

"Okay, now use Incinerate," Tim held his breath. Darumaka concentrated again, this move was starting to take too long... Darumaka opened its mouth again, and a flame emitted from it. This time the Sentret was in really close range and- the flame hit the jumped Sentret who was trying to dodge the oncoming projectile. It fell to the ground propelled into a tree. It growled again and slowly got up shaking its head. Tim reflexivly reached into his pack and threw a Pokeball, hoping it would catch it. The ball shook once. Tim gritted his teeth together with anticipation, waiting for what seemed like an eternity.

    Alan Destin

    Pokemon:

    Spoiler:

Alan smiled as he chased after the small green dog. He could feel his hair waving in the wind as he ran, his skin cooled by the moving air. "Flash," he called. "Slow down!" He knew the Pokémon was true to her superhero namesake. Why does she have to be so fast? he thought, his legs burning.

He watched as the Electrike turned around with a bark, her body turning now to run towards the water. Alan heard himself sigh as he did the same, continuing to follow his Pokémon. Gladly, Flash didn't seem to want to go farther. She merely stopped at the end of the water's reach and turned to her owner. Alan could easily see the mischievous look in her eye. Darn dog, he thought, happy despite the run. Smiling, he sat down beside the Pokémon as it gleefully licked his palm.

"You're an adventurous one," he said as he patted and rubbed her back. "We've only been here for a couple hours and I'm already going to the ends of the Earth to save you."

The only response was the Pokémon laying her head on lap, her eyes aimed at her trainer. She gave a small, but playful growl. He petted her once more and set his eyes out on the ocean. It's waves pounded against the Apollan shore in a calming and rhythmic pattern. Just overhead, he could see the sun as it approached its midday position. Often enough, he could see the Pokémon splashing around in the far-out waters. "I could sit here all day," he said to no one in particular, though Flash did seem to give a little nod.

"So Flash, what do you think we should do? We could go to the cave," he said, pointing at an opening farther down the beach. It looked as if two people were at the entrance. It may be a bit crowded over there, he thought before continuing. "Or, we can move ahead," he motioned to the forest in turn. "So?"

Flash seemed to be a bit surprised by the choice, as if she didn't expect her trainer to let her choose. Nonetheless, she sat up, looking towards both areas with a thoughtful look. It seemed like the pair sat there for a few more minutes as the young Pokémon played around with the decision.

Alan gave a smirk to his small friend. "Made your choice yet buddy?"

The dog gave him another thoughtful look before turning to the forest, giving a slight nod as if to say, "That way."

Alan stood up and began to pick up the canine Pokémon. "Looks like we're going there than. You made a good choice." Flash gave him as much a smile a Pokémon could give, a small lick showing her happiness. Alan couldn't help but smile. "Let's go then."

The partners made their way through the village slowly, taking some time to look over the many stalls. There isn't much diversity in the item department. He ended up going through the town fairly quickly, ignoring anything that would stop them. If we're gonna win, we need to hurry.

Once at the entrance of the forest, Alan put Flash back on the ground as he kneeled next to her. "Are you ready? There's probably wild Pokémon out there and even a couple trainers." The puppy gave a slight nod and took a step into the forest. It looked as if she was a little worried but at the same time she was to enthusiastic to give up. That's my Pokémon!

Taking his own look into the forest, Alan took his first step, pushing aside various low-lying vines and branches. He stared in awe at the scenery around him. Alan had been many different forests, but this one was a lot different. Apollo's flora was drastically different from any he had seen before. There were different trees, different flowers, h*ll, even different grasses. What surprised him the most however, was the amount of fauna. There were at least four different species of Pokémon visible and likely tons more in hiding. Even the amount of the individual species surprised him.

Just in front of him was a large flock of Pidgey, each individual poking at the ground in search of food. "Wanna try it out Flash?" The dog turned towards him with a bark and a gleam in her eyes. If she wasn't ready now, she never would be.

"Alright then, Flash, use Thunder Wave!" The dog barked as her trainer shouted the command, letting out waves of electricity. The paralyzing attack hit about four of the birds, causing them to slowly turn in surprise. Great, thought Alan. They're already slower! "Tackle!"

The Electrike complied and ran towards the small group of the birds where only two could evade in time. One of the Pidgeys who evaded was able attack, using it own tackle to combat its aggressor. The attack seemed to hit dead on but luckily Flash seemed to get out of it without being hurt too much. "Hurry, tackle the one who just attacked!"

The battle went on like this for awhile as Flash and the Pidgeys exchanged blows. It took some time but eventually she beat three of the birds, each of the Pokémon flying away in defeat. Using about half of his potion on his wounded Pokémon, Alan turned towards the last opponent.

The canine gave as much of a smirk as she could before running towards the remaining Pidgey. Unfortunately, the bird got out of the way, its paralysis seemingly over. It swooped in, tackling Flash as she failed to realize her mistake. "Hang in there," cried Alan. "You can do it!" His partner did just that, giving the bird another tackle just before her trainer threw a PokéBall.

Within seconds, the Pidgey was trapped inside the ball, causing it to wiggle. The ball shook against the leaf-strewn ground. The only thing Alan could do now was wait.

The stone glyph started to glow faintly. It can't really be explained, but it feels like it's got some kind of magnetic attraction towards the shack. The shack is musty and dirty and practically empty but there's something on the floor... It looks like a trap door with an X shaped indent. What does it mean?

Suddenly, before you have time to figure it out, a roar shakes the shack and echoes through your ears. It turns out a Kangaskahn has found you and isn't quite happy with you. It's not clear why, but you'd better think of something to do, and fast!

  • October Carter -
Apollo: A Journey of the Gifted [T] [IC]
Apollo: A Journey of the Gifted [T] [IC]

October bent down to the ground, scooping up the PokeBall as it gave one final shake before clicking shut. She wasn't really one for Pokémon training, barely even knew about all the type advantages and weaknesses, but she knew how to use Pokémon on excursions; most provided to her by Jacobi. However this was the first time she had actually caught a Pokemon for herself and she could not help but smile at the immense sense of accomplishment. Rotating the ball in her hand, she stopped for a moment to get away from the pressure to reach the end of the mystery to really appreciate the Pokemon she had just caught.

"Come out, January!" she called as she tossed the red and white ball to the ground in front of her, the small, green dinosaur bursting forth happily. Pulling out her last remaining potion bottle, she sprayed January until all her bruises and cuts were fully healed; the Bulbasaur gleaming happily her. Swishing the bottle around, she could tell there was a little bit left, enough to spray April back to full health as well.

With both Pokemon healed and by her side, she continued walking forward until the trees around her thinned slightly and a solid path appeared between two bushes. From what she could tell, her blundering through the woods had cut off a large portion of the route's trail, bringing her closer to the end of the route and the next town, or so she thought. As October stumbled through the large bushes lining the path, the same man who had pushed past her onto the route beforehand now sped past her, ignoring her and heading to what looked like a rundown old shack. Scowling at the guy, she continued to make her way through the undergrowth as he stopped up ahead to battle a wild Sentret he had crossed paths with. She scoffed at him; he probably stood on its tail while he was in a rush to get to the shack for whatever reason.

If this guy was in this much of a hurry to get to the cottage, surely there must have been something important on his agenda to warrant such hurry. Under his arm, October spotted the mysterious glyph that had been sitting on one of the stalls back in Beachcliffe. She had chosen not to browse those wares due to the gaggle of inexperience explorers that had been drawn to it, not to mention the merchant's over exaggeration of pieces of stone and rock. However seeing this man with the glyph under his arm and in an auspicious place like this, October could only conclude someone had told him of its significance and he had come here to work it out.

Holding back, she ushered her Pokemon to stand behind her in the bushes, creeping along the side of the route just out of sight and facing his back until she could get close enough to hear him talking to a small, red thing that battled on the ground. When she was close enough, she crouched down and peered through the bushes at the strange man as he looked from the glyph in his hands to the glyph painted on the door. Behind him there was a rustle of bushes as October hushed her Pokemon and sank lower to the ground. From her right came a mighty roar as a rather large and angry Kangaskan entered the clearing, running straight towards the oblivious man.

"Watch out!" October screamed at the man, despite her previous disposition about him, he still didn't deserve to be injured by something so fierce. "April, use Tackle!" October ordered as the blue elephant leapt out from behind her and rammed its tiny body into the Kangaskhan, causing the Pokemon to lose its focus on the man and turn its attention to October and her Pokemon.

"January, hang back and use growl," October spoke to the Bulbasaur as it ran to join April. With April being able to take the brunt of the attacks, he was the most obvious choice to be in front and dealing the damage. January's level was almost laughable going up against Kangaskhan, and so having her behind constantly pulling down the Kangaskhan's attack would mean April getting hurt less and less.

October stood and watched as her team worked well together, April leading the Kangaskhan all around the clearing by moving to and fro while intermittently tackling it proved effective in garnering it's focus while January followed behind, lowering the Pokemon's attack further and further. There were a couple of times where the Kangaskhan landed some pretty nasty Comet Punches on April, causing the Pokemon to cry out in pain, but she was strong and stood through it all.

Biting her nails, October began to see that it was slowly becoming a losing war. April had the Kangaskhan well hurt while she herself was suffering from bordering on fainting as January's growls began having little to no effect anymore. If the battle didn't end soon, April would surely faint and it wouldn't take January that long after to follow suit. Inwardly she cursed herself for helping the man, she should have just let the Pokemon run him over, but silly October had to get caught up in whatever kind of trouble she could. Snapping out, she heard April let out a weak cry as the Kangaskhan launched its large body, against the fragile Phanpy, causing April to lose her footing and slump to the ground.

"Noo!" October yelled as she pelted forwards towards the Phanpy as the Kangaskhan raised a fist, charging up for another round of Comet Punches. January ran beside her, sprinting as fast as her stumpy legs could carry her, but neither of them would make it in time to rescue April. Reaching behind and into her satchel, October clamped her hands on one of the remaining empty PokeBalls floating around in her bag. Bringing it to her chest, she let out a breath before pulling her arm back and tossing the ball straight at the angry Kangaskhan. If it didn't catch it, the ball would surely give her enough time to grab April and get clear, but for now she watched the immense body of the Kangaskhan be swallowed up in the bright light of the PokeBall before it dropped to the ground, shaking constantly.

October barely made it in the quick of time, scooping up the Phanpy before the Kangaskhan burst forth from the ball ready to strike. She leapt just as it's fist pummelled into the ground behind her, tearing out a large chunk of the ground. It roared in anger as again it reeled back it's fist ready to strike back, this time at October. As it's fist launched for her, a green blur launched from behind her as January connected the Comet Punch with a Tackle of her own, dealing a large deal of damage as it pummelled Kangaskhan once... twice... three times. Seeing this, April leapt out of October's arm, and in unison they both tackled the Kangaskhan back and forth, giving it little time to attack back with tackle's of it's own. The fight didn't last much longer as the Kangaskhan soon fell over, it's body slumping to the ground and blasting dust and dead leaves into the air as it fainted. A couple of seconds later it got up, shaking off the fainting and charged back through the tall trees, rapidly moving out of sight until it was long gone.

"Next time, be more aware of your surroundings," October spat at the guy who sheltered in the shack, turning on her heels and heading back to the Route she had stumbled off of.

Once she was away from the guy and back onto the Route, she let her Pokemon out again, splitting the only bottle of Fresh Water she had between the two and watching as they both returned to full health. Happy they had overcome that obstacle, she proceeded back north up the route, the exit appearing just on the horizon ahead. In the distance, she could see several trainers waiting on the path ahead for a trainer to come along so they could test their skills in battle. No doubt she would have to face them soon enough, but she looked at her two Pokemon and smiled, glad to have them by her side.

"I would have named him Bubb or Bubbs, kind of like Bubbles, but not so girly. But 'Snaps!'" She mimicked his inflexion when emphasizing the krabby's name, "is a pretty fitting name too." She poked at the poked at the pokemon's claws as it rhythmically snapped away.

"Should we head further, further in? See what's at the end? You m-might be able to try c-catching a Pokémon again? Or just, or just train, I suppose. That t-too."

Yeah let's keep going. I don't think I'm going to bother trying to catch another pokemon it wouldn't really be worth it I think to try. Stratos was already pretty worn out from just that one prolonged fight and I don't have any more potions. We should probably just be quick about and fend off anything that might attack us."

With her usual thinking ahead, Anise shrugged and began her walk deeper into the cave.

Timothy- Day 1 Morning -Route 1
    The Shack
Tim stared at the Pokeball as there was a clicking noise. He smiled with a wide smile, his Pokeball had done its bidding. Tim walked over to the ball, glad that Darumaka had only sustained a few scratches. Anything worse and they might have to turn back. As he walked forwards to take his prize, he got closer to the shack. He heard a faint buzz coming from somewhere, but he couldn't place where. Turning around to try and locate it, he saw Darumaka staring at his back. He creased his eyebrows, reaching inside his backpack. What his hand felt was the stone glyph. Reaching out of his backpack, he pulled out the stone glyph. From the x engraved in the center there was a faint glow. Tim look a step closer to the shack while holding the glyph. Sure enough, the glow got slightly brighter. There was something in that shack. But first things first, Tim walked over to the Pokeball and snatched it up, pocketing it.

A rustling came from the side of the woods, and Tim turned. Barreling out at him was a full-grown Kangaskhan. Tim smiled, "Sticks! Use Superpower!" He waited for a second as the Kangaskhan got neared, but nothing happened. Then he realized. Reacting quickly he said, "Darumaka! Incinerate! FAST!" Tim was mentally slapping himself. Darumaka concentrated. But not fast enough.

"Watch out!" Someone screamed from his right. Tim didn't respond, gritting his teeth. The Kangaskhan was too close, so Tim grabbed Darumaka quickly and jumped off to the side. It was just in the nick of time as well, they would have been crushed. While they were flying through the air, Darumaka's Incinerate exited his mouth, flying into the sky. It almost looked like a firecracker... "April, use Tackle!" The same person called out. Tim turned in time to see a tiny Phanapy smack into the back of a giant Kangaskhan. Tim recognized the person giving orders. She was the first person into the forest, but he had walked ahead of her, twice. The Phanapy didn't make much of a mark, did she really think it would? All that it did was turn the Kangaskhan around, and anger it.

Well, Tim sat Darumaka down on the ground in front of him, "Nice try buddy, but now fire Incinerates at its back as fast as you can, okay?" Darumaka concentrated, and Tim waited.

"January, hang back and use growl," Tim watched the battle. This girl wasn't a bad strategist. He had seen her Phanapy earlier, so he guessed that the Bulbasaur was at a lower level than the Phanapy. If the Bulbasaur continuously used growl, It could battle later with the Kangaskhan's bad attack. The two Pokemon danced around the bigger one, landing pitiful attacks. Did she think to use special attacks? Clearly not. The trainer had stupidly tried to catch the Pokemon. It didn't even have half health yet. Darumaka let out an Incinerate. It opened its mouth wide and fire burst from it. The Kangaskhan was hit in the back and it leaned forwards, almost falling. It righted itself again and was about to turn around when suddenly Pokemon on either side of it started pummeling into the large lump, throwing it around. Tim couldn't help but grin. Not a bad strategy. The Pokemon they were pummeling fell to the ground. It got up quickly, not yet fainted, and ran off.

The girl pompously said, "Next time, be more aware of your surroundings." Tim seethed as the girl walked off. Tim walked towards the shack, he had to investigate that. As he walked over he saw that the door to had been completely blocked with debris from the fighting. Some chunks of earth and tree were completely blocking it. There goes that idea. Maybe he could find an alternate way in. He scoured it for any holes, and noticed one on the top. Tree climbing time! Sadly the trees here were smooth and didn't provide any grips. He looked for a better tree. Finding one with a low branch, he swung himself up. Darumaka sat on the ground beneath him, so Tim pulled out his Pokeball and Darumaka was enveloped in a red light. Tim lifted himself up to another branch. Tim almost lost his balance, hanging off the tree. He grabbed onto a branch from another tree, and swung himself over limberly. However, the branch slipped out of his hand and he plummeted to the ground, time slowing. On reflex Tim rapped a bit of the rope hooked to his belt on the branch he just passed. It hooked on, and luckily the branch was not brittle, so the bounce brought him to the trunk.

He unhooked the rope and stood on a thick branch. Jumping off of the branch, he nimbly landed on the roof of the cottage, a hole in the roof granting him safe passage. In the dark room he could see the light radiating off of the glyph, so he took it out. Inside was very plain, but there must have been something in here to cause the glyph to react this way. He needed to find out what that was. Turning around he could tell there was no back door, and up clearly wasn't an option anymore. His only chance would be a trapdoor, if there was one. On the floor he could see one. Perfect. He tried to open it, but it would budge. Then was when he saw the X shaped indent. He looked at the glyph, and sure enough, they matched. He place the glyph on the trapdoor, and sure enough it opened.
