    Spoiler:
With one last shake, the ball gave a simple ding to signal the capture. Alan had caught many Pokémon in his career, often not only for him, but also for clients. This time felt different to him though. To him, it felt special. The catching of the Pidgey was his first in this new region. It made him feel as if he had started all over again.

He smiled at the thought and watched as Flash grabbed the ball herself, bringing it to her trainer. It was obvious that she wanted the new Pokémon out as well. She wanted another new friend. Giving her a nod, the Pidgey was released. "Well, hey there Sora," Alan greeted, having already thought of the bird's name.

Sora gave a happy coo in response before perching on her new trainer's shoulder. Healing the Pokémon with the last of the potion, Alan let her fly down to her new partner. Alan couldn't help but watch as the two communicated, seemingly giving each other good impressions. He couldn't hep but feel happy about them. His Pokémon were already becoming friends, not only with him, but with each other as well. It was perfect.

"Come on you two," he told them. "We're gonna train a bit, alright?" With a nod in reply, the two followed, taking their places by his side as they started to walk through the vast forest. Having gotten off the path a bit, each step was slightly hindered by the massive amount of foliage and low hanging branch. All around him were shadows that seemed to dance as the trees swayed and the sun moved farther into the sky. He could hear dozens of Pokémon as they made their own ways through the forest. It was a beautiful sight to have everything in such harmony.

Choosing to follow after the sounds of the Pokémon, Alan and his partners slowly made their way farther off the path. It didn't take too long to find more opponents. "So do you guys think you know what to do?" he asked, pointing at the group of Wurmple and Caterpie in the clearing. The pair gave a small nod before running (or flying in Sora's case) into the clearing. "Flash, use Thunder Wave. Sora, Tackle!" With eagerness, the pair complied, the Pokémon each doing their separate actions.

Despite the call as a warning, the opponents didn't know what hit them. With about two of the five (two of them were Caterpie, while the others were of the different species) being paralyzed, the bird Pokémon had a clear target as it tackled the paralyzed Wurmple, knocking it back a few feet. In defense, the opponents each used a stream of String Shots, each hitting their target. "Don't worry guys, just because you're a bit slower doesn't mean you can't win!"

His Pokémon seemed to understand as they took the battle into their own terms. Going for the already paralyzed bugs, both the canine and bird did the damage they needed to do. With those two out of the equation, the pair turned in time to defend themselves against the onslaught of attacks that came their way. They couldn't do much but take the brunt of the attack, but they held it together. "Good job! Sand attack Sora! Flash, do what you can!"

Without a moments hesitation they pair showed their power and within just a few minutes, the battle was over. "You guys did it!" Alan called to them as he kneeled, petting the two as they neared. "That was great you two. I'm so proud." And indeed he was, it wasn't every day that a pair of new friends could work so fluently together. They had been underdogs against those that outnumbered them, but they held through.

Smiling, the man stood up and began his way back through the forest, the Pokémon in tow as he hurried. If we're going to win this race, we can't stick around here all day, he thought to himself as they made their way to the end. Of course, there is never a goal without it's hindrances.

After just ten minutes, a bush rustled next to the group before aloud cry was heard from Sora. Hastily, turned around to see a small, but ferocious, green dinosaur growling at the group. Just beside it was Sora, who seemed to be slowly recovering from an attack.

A person would normally be very lucky to see a wild Bulbasaur, let alone one that was so aggressive. H*ll, it was rare to see a Pokémon of any kind act so rashly. Nonetheless, what a thing to be to capture it. "Quick Sora! Fly away!" Turning to Flash, he gave a nod. "Help her out, use Tackle!" And the dog did just that, running to protect her injured friend.

Ramming the opponent, the two Pokémon seemed to fall over each other, starting a wrestling match of sorts before they broke apart. They're too weak to continue fighting so much. What could he do...? Watching as the two Pokémon matched each other Tackle by Tackle, Alan attempted to formulate a plan. Could he...

"Sora, get in there and use Sand Attack!" He watched as Sora did just that, barely using the move before the dinosaur set it's sights on her. Jumping forward, it hit Sora, (despite the decreased accuracy) knocking her to the ground. Alan couldn't help himself from running to the bird.

"Sora!" he yelled before picking her up. Without a second's notice, Flash used Thunder Wave at the dinosaur, surprising her trainer. She barked at Alan, as if to tell him to protect Sora before Tackling the Bulbasaur once again. Nodding, Alan placed Sora in her Pokéball before turning back to the battle, a new, empty ball in hand. "One more tackle!"

He threw the ball as soon as the dog collided with the opponent in it's paralyzed stupor, the ball absorbing the Bulbasaur midway into the air. Would it stay caught?

Benjamin followed, returning Snaps back to his ball and keeping Elenore on his shoulder. He stuck behind her, letting her lead the way, only rushing ahead when a Zubat blocked their path. He apologised to Anise after quickly defeating it (Elenore looked like she had gotten a bit better at this battling thing!), not meaning to take anything away from her but being aware when she said her Swablu was a bit tired at the moment. Luckily, Pokémon had not bothered them all the way to the end and before they knew it, Anise and Benjamin were at the end of the cave, faced with a wall.

The wall was weird, with four stones in a circle and an indent in the center. The stones on the wall looked oddly familiar. Benjamin took a few photos of it. This seemed interesting enough to pass off as historical.

"D-do you know what th-those are, Mr. B-briar? Maybe there's s-some kind of p-puzzle to this..."

Once, twice... Dangit! The Bulbasaur burst from the ball, breaking it. It does seem quite dizzy though and not quite ready to run away yet.

    Spoiler:
The forest seemed to go quiet as the ball hit the leaf covered ground, causing a loud crunch to echo through the entirety of the woods. There was little else but silence as the ball wiggled, hinting towards the possible capture or release. Hopefully, it would be the latter. One shake... Two shakes... And... The ball opened to reaveal a bright light as the small, green dinosaur appeared from its small space. The attempt had evidently failed as Alan looked down at the broken Pokeball, its separate red and white halves broken down the middle.

Damn, the young man thought as he once more analyzed what he could of the situation. Fortunately for him, the Bulbasaur was still paralyzed and judging from its stuporous appearance, the Pokemon was slightly dizzy. If anything, one last effort could be his only chance to catch it. What can I do...?

With Sora having fainted and Flash's slow loss of health, there wasn't very many options to choose from. In all actuallity, there was only really two options: throw another Pokeball while the target was dizzy or hope that Flash could whittle its health down enough to ensure the capture without causing it to faint. Choices were such a pain in tight situations like this. After all, what else could possibly make the situation more complicated.

"Flash, go in for one more Tackle!" As soon as the command hit her ears, the Electrike was off running towards her opponent. Unfortunately for Alan, the Pokemon, despite its dizziness, the Bulbasaur was able to barely stumble out of its attacker's way. The thing is, once the Pokemon started to move out of the way, it couldn't stop til it tripped over a root, its stubby legs not giving it a chance, making the dinosaur topple over itself. Alan couldn't tell which of them had had at the worst luck at the moment, but he knew this was the only opportunity he'd have. If he didn't catch it now, it would be all over.

So in that moment, Alan threw another ball in his last-ditch effort to get the rare Pokemon. Hitting the bulb on its back, the ball sucked the Bulbasaur in, leaving the woods to its eerie silence once more.

    Spoiler:

Timothy- Day 1 Morning -Route 1
    To Camp Kangaskhan
Tim looked inside as the trapdoor opened. Yes! There was stuff inside. A pulled out some spare money, a leaf stone, and one of those Sol thingies. It was on a bracelet luckily. Tim looked back up and saw how high up the ceiling was. He looked to his belt, and fully pulled out the rope, but the tree had entirely shredded it, and it would of no use. He threw it behind him, he was sure he could get something in another camp. Now he had to get out. The glyph had served its purpose and, sure enough, it wouldn't budge. Tim decided to test the rubble covered door. From outside it wouldn't move, and now Tim saw why. There were quite a few pieces of furniture blocking the door, so Tim set about to move them.

When he finally finished, he pushed open the door, and light that greeted him was stupendous. He blinked a few times and rubbed his eyes. Walking forwards in a daze, he looked for the way he had come. He started down it as his eyes fully adjusted, and soon enough he saw the dirt road in the distance. He exited the underbrush, now on the road. He walked along its side, a few trainers passed him, paying no mind. He looked for any familiar faces, and saw none. He decided to put on the baclet he found in the shack. He put it on the opposite hand as the other one. As he walked along he stared down at the glistening rocks, he couldn't wait to get them checked out. Wondering what their purposes were, he thought about the name of his. The Sol of Eleos. The other one he was clueless as to the name. Eleos. Hm, Eleos was the name of a spirit in the mythology of pity. So he had a bracelet of pity. That was great he guessed sarcastically.

He moved his eyes from the bracelet, looking at the road at he continued on. Wow. It was long, but in the distance he could see the end, so not as long as he thought originally. In front of him a trainer was challenging the annoying girl who had fainted the Kangaskhan to a battle. Tim rolled his eyes, that would not end well for either of them. Walking past them, he admired the forest softly. It contained no traces of pollution or human life, minus the two battling behind him. He walked along, breathing in a breath of cool air. This beautiful climate was rubbing off on him, and he loved it. In front of him a little ways down the road a Pidgey landed. Tim smiled, now would be perfect time for some training of his newer, weaker Pokemon.

He pulled out the Pokeball of his newly caught Sentret and a potion, knowing it was low on health. The Sentret popped out of the Pokeball, and Tim sprayed it in the potion, leaving it confused and somewhat wet. It stared at Tim with the strangest look on its face, then turned away. Tim just looked at Sentret and said, "Use Scratch on that Pidgey." The Pokemon looked unimpressed at his 'command' so it sat there and did nothing. Tim groaned, realizing he had just wasted a potion on a Pokemon who was not about to do anything. Sentret turned away from Tim and looked at the Pidgey. Of it was going to battle, it was going to do it its own way. Tim sighed, seeing this, and sat back, knowing he had to win its trust some other way.

Sentret ran towards the Pidgey and the Pidgey saw it coming. Sentret used Scratch at the Pidgey, but it jumped into the air, flying over the oncoming rodent. Sentret turned, confused, only to be met with a Tackle in the face. Sentret wobbled backwards, but recovered Scratching Pidgey in the wing, causing it to veer off of its course into the ground. The Pidgey got up, and struggled to take off, but Sentret's Scratch had clipped one of its feathers. No doubt it would recover soon after the battle, Pokemon regenerated quickly. Sentret stared at the Pokemon, no doubt using Foresight. Tim resisted the urge to order Sentret around. Sentret's poor usage of the move caused the Pidgey to have the chance to retaliate, slamming into Sentret. Tim winced, the impact looked harsh. Sentret looked a little dazed, but sure enough Scratched Pidgey, causing it to fall to the side. With little energy left, Sentret stood up tall, and pounced on the Pidgey, using its momentum to have its claws do more damage. The Pidgey lay flat on the ground, and Sentret poked it to make sure it was fainted. Sure enough it was, and it turned to Tim triumphantly crossing its arms. A few seconds later it collasped onto the ground and Tim rolled his eyes. He returned Sentret and continued down the path.

    * * *

Tim arrived at Camp Kangaskhan not too long after that and walked inside, ready for anything.

    Attempting to catch a Pidgey.

Daniel rubbed his eyes as he stepped off the boat and out into the bright morning light, the small feline on his shoulder mimicking his actions. There was a definite cheer to Dan's step as he finally stepped down onto glorious, glorious dry land; he had never been on a boat before and after the seasick inducing time he had just spent, he never wanted to again. Still, it seemed as though the trip might have been worth it; Beachcliffe wasn't like anything that Dan had been expecting, it felt so... clean. The small, naturalistic town was a breath of fresh air, both figuratively and literally, to the city-dweller.

Dan stood there for almost a minute, just staring about the place, until a pawing at his ear and an inquisitive mewl drew his attention. Dima had been another surprise to him; growing up with little exposure to pokemon, and what little he did have that of competitive battling, he had been expecting a pokemon to be more violent. Dima was practically the word "kitten" personified: friendly, childlike, somewhat lazy; in short completely the opposite of what Dan had been expecting. IF he hadn't had her test out her scratch attack on a log shortly before they had left he wouldn't have thought her capable of fighting.

Smiling he reached up to Dima, rubbing his knuckles along the silky fur on her ears as she purred. "Cmon Di', let's have a look around." he said, quickly setting off into the town. Now that his initial daze had worn off Dan was filled with excitable energy and a strong desire to get moving. After a quick trip to the market to pick up some extra supplies - slightly complicated by Dima trying to play with shiny objects hanging from the stalls - he found himself heading up through the town and out into the imaginatively named "Route 1".

Route 1 was peaceful at first glance, wide spread trees and rambling paths providing a pleasant shade to stroll through. Despite the lack of people the route felt, if anything, even more alive than Beachcliffe. There were pokemon everywhere scurrying about as flashes of movement in the corner of Dan's eye, melting away into the undergrowth if he tried to turn his attention to them. Dima had noticed them as well and was uncharacteristically alert, head swivelling from one source of movement to another. Dan could feel her now unsheathed claws pricking his skin slightly as she kneaded her paws into his shoulder. The cuddly pokemon suddenly looked a lot more focused, sharper. With a grin Dan tilted his head to look up at her, "Go get'em Girl."

That was all the prompting Dima needed. She remained still a few moments more as she picked out a target before rocketing off Dan's shoulder and up the trunk of a nearby tree. There was a muffled but fierce rustling and then Dima fell out of the canopy, holding beneath her the screeching and squirming body of a Pidgey. The bundle of feathers and fur hit the ground bird first and Dima bounced off, landing on her feet in front of Dan before darting in to scratch at the recovering bird. She managed to deliver two scratches across it's plump front before the bird gathered it's senses and struck out surprisingly hard with a wing, sending Dima tumbling back a few paces. Regaining her feet Dima hissed at the bird but didn't charge in again, instead circling it cautiously.

Dan watched Dima move quietly, giving the pokemon a supportive smile when she caught his eye but otherwise saying nothing. The Pidgey made a vaguely cocky-sounding trill and started ruffling it's feathers, preparing to take off. Dan waited till it was raising it's wings and then called out "Now!" Dima took his cue and sprung forwards with both paws outstretched, hooking one set into each of the now unprotected wings. The Pidgey screeched and flailed but couldn't knock Dima off with her claws dug into it's muscles and was unable to stop her dragging them both to the ground.

"Nice work Di, hold it down!" Dan called, fumbling at his belt for one of the empty pokeballs he had been given. Dima nodded and put her weight on the bird, baring her teeth inches from its throat and Growling threateningly. Taking careful aim so that he didn't hit his own pokemon, Dan pulled his arm back and threw the pokeball as hard as he could at the trapped bird.

Yukari smiled shyly and nodded as she placed Diglett's Pokéball back on her belt and received the Journal and the cash from the merchant. She then walked away, waving at the clerk that waved back and happily turned towards her new Pokémon. Yukari stopped and looked at the two for a second. They seemed to get along so the girl was glad she managed to make someone else happy.

"What are we going to do now?" the girl asked as she softly nudged her Misdreavus. "I really didn't plan on catching a Diglett or, well, any other Pokémon for myself for the matter. I'm not ready yet." She went on and sighed as she hugged Yume tight.

Misdreavus gave her trainer and encouraging nudge and then pointed towards the cave, as if suggesting they go back and release the Pokémon.

"That's a great idea." Yukari said as she smiled and started running towards the cave entrance. Her worries were finally starting to fade away and she was thankful to have a smart Pokémon such as Yume by her side. She felt a little bad for the Diglett, but she knew she wasn't ready for yet another Pokémon so soon. She wanted to spend some more time with Yume and learn more about being a trainer before filling up her team.

Soon enough, the two were at the cave's entrance.

"Let's go!" Yume said cheerfully then plunged in, followed closely by Misdreavus. "Oh snap!" she said as she tripped and fell. "I forgot it's dark in here" she whined and then went back out to make herself another makeshift torch. This time she was faster than before given her previous experience, so the two entered the cave once more and made their way towards the spot the girl had caught Diglett in.

As she walked deeper into the cave, Yukari started picking up a couple of voices. She soon realized they were the voices of the pretty girl she had seen fighting a Diglett before and of her nerdy-looking companion. She STILL didn't know their names. She kept walking, the voices growing nearer until she could soon hear the nerdy-looking boy clearly say:

    "Maybe there's s-some kind of p-puzzle to this…" .

Shy as she was, Yukari couldn't resist her curiosity anymore and quickly approached the two and asked curiously:

    "A puzzle?"

  • October Carter -
Apollo: A Journey of the Gifted [T] [IC]
Apollo: A Journey of the Gifted [T] [IC]

The route seemed to stretch of forever as no matter how many steps she took, the end of the route never inched any further. It was kind of depressing really as she marched forward with her Pokémon at her side, but nether less she continued on moving forward almost willing that imaginary barrier between the route and the upcoming camp to move towards her. When it did start to draw close, October readily became elated, motioning for her Pokémon to follow her as she pelted forward along the bumpy dirt track. Just as she was about to burst forth into the open, dandelion plagued fields of the next camp, she was interrupted as a trainer literally jumped in front of her path. She was forced to stop right in front of him before he stuck out a finger in her direction, challenging her to a battle.

"Halt! Think you can take on the leader of Camp Kangaskhan? How about a test first? If you can beat me, I'll let you pass!" The boy was only slightly shorter than October, but much younger. Clad in sandals, blue shorts and a Hawaiian t-shirt, this kid reminded her a lot of an annoying kid who would walk around Kanto proclaiming how comfy shorts were.

"Kid, just move out of my way!" October tried to push past him, but the kid was strong and held his ground, moving side to side as to block her from making it to the camp. She wasn't much of a Pokémon battler; never really been interested in it from the start. Sure, October had used a Pokémon or two on previous expeditions with Jacobi, but Jacobi had often been the one to take care of any people or Pokémon in their path.

"I said I'll let you pass if you can beat me," he repeated, slightly annoyed at October's persistence to move past him. Obviously there seemed to be some unwritten rule that meant you couldn't decline battles once eyes had been locked.

Rolling her eyes, October stepped back in line with her Pokémon as the kid seemed to grin at getting his own way. "Fine then, go April!" October called as her elephantine Pokémon jumped out from behind her and into the intervening area between then.

The kid scoffed, rolling his eyes as if October had done something wrong. "Have you honestly never battled before? This is a double battle! Gem, Hearts, let's show 'em how this is done!"

From his belt, the trainer took two PokeBalls and threw them high into the foliage. Both October and the kid looked up into the trees, waiting for the balls to return to earth. It took a couple of seconds, but soon after a couple of branches breaking and some falling leaves, the balls returned. Bouncing off the ground, they emitted a large amount of light before disappearing to be replaced by a Staryu and Woobat. October watched as the Staryu twirled in mid-air before landing on what she assumed were its 'feet'. The Woobat on the other hand soared into the foliage and back around, barrel-rolling through a pair of branches before hovering just to the left side of the Staryu.

"Uh, okay then, January you're up too, I guess," Jacobi had forgotten to mention there were going to be trainers on this island; October herself previously under the assumption that the island was far from inhabited by humans. Meanwhile January sauntered forward, past October to take up position next to April on the field.

"April, January, tackle the Staryu!" October yelled as the Pokémon both scrapped their front paws against the dusty ground before charging at the starfish Pokémon. From up high, a psychic force pummelled the ground in front of the two just before they leapt. Both Pokémon had their attacks land, but while January was left to ready for another attack, Phanpy was blasted by a Water Gun, hitting it straight on and dealing an awful load of damage.

"Haha! Water-type is super effective against ground type!" The kid bragged, his smug look making October feel even more useless at battling. From up above the Woobat swooped down at January, "Hearts use Confusion!" and again another psychic force pummelled into January, sending her flying backwards.

"Tackle, April!" October called, only knowing one of the attacks she knew. October could only watch as the Phanpy dodged around the barrel of water heading for her and slamming her body into the Staryu.

Soon the fight became a simple test of commands, the trainer yelling moves for his Pokémon to use against October's seemingly easily while October herself continually tripped over her commands. On more than once she tried to get April to 'growl', or January to use 'flail', a complete beginner to the idea of double battles. Of course she had heard of them previously, she wasn't completely stupid, but October's abilities didn't quite stretch to encompass Pokémon fighting and training. If it wasn't for the PokeDex whirring in her hands, displaying her Pokémon's attacks, she would have been completely oblivious to what they actually knew.

Back and forth the two of them continued to yell commands at their Pokémon, the trainer whom October later found out was named 'Hudson' always commanding the upper hand as his knowledge of move type and advantages, not to mention the diversity of his teams moves compared to hers meant October could rapidly see herself loosing. In front of her, Hudson's Pokémon looked exhausted from the back and forth of attacks, yet her own Pokémon looked like they were on the brink of exhaustion and ready to faint.

"Come on guys, hang in there!" She yelled as Hudson smirked at her.

"There's no winning from here on out, just give up already!" he spoke down to October, making her become even more riled up than before.

"April, flail at Staryu!" The small blue elephant threw itself at the starfish, flailing about as it hit the Staryu with its trunk, body, even its feet. October cried out in success as the Staryu fainted; Hudson recalling it to its ball with a sour face.

"Beginners luck," he scoffed, "Hearts use Confusion of the Phanpy!" The Woobat swooped down from on high, aiming straight for April who stood her ground looking mightily exhausted.

"January, tackle!" October screamed as the Bulbasaur leapt at the Woobat, hitting it front on and causing the Woobat to fire prematurely at the Bulbasaur. October cried out as January fell to the ground, her small body kicking up a puff of dust. As it cleared, October's bottom lip wobbled, a single tear running down her cheek as January lay still on the ground; fainted. Recalling the Pokémon to the ball, she turned to Hudson, tears welling up around the corners of her eyes.

"That's just how a Pokémon battle goes," he brushed her off, smirking knowing that with October's meagre knowledge of Pokémon battling, he had this in the bag.

"April, flail!" She called out at the same time Hudson called for hearts to use Confusion. April's flail connected at the same point that Hearts let rip with a wave of confusion, the two Pokémon falling to the ground. As the Woobat shook the attack off, it now hung lower in the air; around Hudson's mid-section looking rather exhausted. April on the other hand returned to the ground, stumbling around in confusion.

Hudson let out a raucous laugh as he now surely had it in the bag. It made October feel weak for one of the first times in her life as she had now been thrust into a situation where she was completely out of her element. "Any last words before you pay up?" He scoffed at her.

"April, flail!" she called out angrily, watching the Phanpy stumble around the field. For a moment there it looked as if Phanpy was about to charge at her until its gaze locked onto the Woobat, leaping into the air as flail connected with the flying ball of fur. As the dust settled on the battle, Hudson's mouth dropped to the ground as he returned his Woobat to its ball, October doing the same to April.

"Here," Hudson spat as he handed the reward money to the elated October as she passed him to step through into the open air of Camp Kangaskhan.

"Don't be too hurt you got beat by a girl," October winked at him on her way past.

Apollo: A Journey of the Gifted [T] [IC]

    Anselme Gwenaël Ducreux
    Beachcliffe Village > Cliffside Cave

Anselme had intended for a peaceful break, but apparently that was too much to ask because his mind began producing troublesome thoughts and questions and he began to think. If he'd learned anything it was that thinking too much was bad for you. There were many splintered thoughts drifting about his mind, but they were all tied to one single question. Why had he come to Apollo? So far he hadn't enjoyed a moment of it. He actually hated his adventure thus far. He had made it to Apollo, so why didn't he just leave and go job hunting with a shiny new addition to his resume? Why did he go inside that cave instead of lounging about Beachcliffe? Why did he bother catching the Zubat instead if beating the crap out of it? Why did that Zubat attack him first anyway? No, now he was getting off track. The main point was why had he been acting like he cared about this?

He had come to Apollo to change his life, get a better job, not be a loser anymore, right? Hadn't he done enough for at least that? There had to be something else, something less simple. Man, this place is stressing me out bad. Damn Enzo, why did I have to listen to him…this is all his fault. All his fault. All of it. ...All of it? ...All of it! That was the explanation, the reason why he had been acting like this. He realized that he wanted a way for him to come back with an accomplishment he could rub in Enzo's smug face! More or less. Maybe deep down he had this fantasy where he came back a powerful trainer that could take down his equally-smug pokemon team, too, but that was getting into little-kid-who-wants-to-grow-up-to-be-a-cowboy-astronaut-football-champion levels of idealism, otherwise known as stupidity. More realistically, however, was the discovery he had made. Anselme pulled out the colored rock. This could be it, the thing that lead to a face-rubbing accomplishment.

But...there were still those damn ground pokemon. He remembered how he had run away. So much for being a new non-loser man. He reacted normally, right? Justified as it might be, it still pissed him off. He thought about this for a moment and came to a conclusion. He was a new man, right? He didn't have to have complete common sense like the old Anselme. He could be a badass macho mofo if he wanted, right? New Anselme wouldn't let some dirtbag pokemon push him around! He briefly wondered whether the "fresher air" of Apollo was turning him crazy, but then said, "Screw it, I'm going back in!" He was going to get to that wall, figure out what to do with the stone, beat the crap out of those ground things, go home, and rub it all in Enzo's face. Totally a sound plan, yep. It wasn't like he had much to lose, though, so he stood up fully charged with resolve.

A hard thump to the head knocked him right back down onto the couch again. "Ahh," he hissed, rubbing his wounded head. "What the hell!" He looked down and realized he had knocked into a nurse that he hadn't even noticed while lost in his own thoughts. After looking at her he realized that she didn't look half bad, so he figured it was time to see what "New Anselme" could do. He cleared his throat and tried to manipulate his voice into a deep, suave one, or at least the closest he could get to it. He reached a hand down to help her up and said, "I'm sorry miss, I can't believe I didn't notice such a dazzling beauty right in front of me. You know how distracted a man can get when he's…" Think of something cool… "remembering... war stories?" Great, now I sound like some old geezer who's stuck in the past, great job, "New" Anselme. Well, this was a bust. Time to exit. "I have some urgent discoveries to make soooo…" He slowly inched towards the door out with those words, and when he reached the extended "o" he dashed outside.

Once outside, Anselme decided to forget that pathetic attempt at coolness ever happened. New Anslelme didn't have to be cool, just tough enough to not be scared of ground things. He really needed to learn more species of pokemon. Readjusting the straps on his pack, Anselme made his way to the cave once more. He stood outside its mouth, gazing into the darkness in which resided his old enemy. Finally away from that pokemon center, he was now able to light up another cigarette. He took a great big breath of smoke and exhaled it all out before tossing the cig to the side and finally saying, "Let's do this." He changed the music on his player to something actiony and began to charge his way into the cave, straight into the darkness. New Anselme wasn't afraid of anything this cave could throw at him, not ground things, or Zubat, or darkness, or… more ground things… he realized he didn't know anything about what else could be in that cave. It didn't matter though, because New Anselme wasn't scared of that either.

He was revved up, full of energy and fighting spirit, so much so that he even began to yell a long battle cry. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" He screamed, this time not like a scared little girl but like a warrior. He ran and ran, and nothing could stop him now! "AAA-OOF!" Apparently, a stone wall could stop him fairly easily. He dizzily got up from the ground and rubbed the new bump on his head. New Anselme was proving to be a massive pain in the ass. Or rather, on the head. Nevermind that, he pulled out the stone and held it up to the wall. There were two indents in the wall where more stones like his seemed to belong, one to complete a circle shape with the ones already there and the other in the center. He put in his, completing the ring, but there was one in the center he still had yet to find.

"It has to be around here somewhere…" Anselme turned around to find himself face to face with the darkness of the cave save for the teensy tiny light that was emitted by distant entrance. Wonderful. I'd love to search for a small rock in a pitch black cave where everything else is made of rock too... He needed this for his discovery, though, so it was something he would have to do. Just find that stone, put it in, figure out the secret of the wall or whatever, then you can go back home. Simple enough. He briefly considered where to begin his search, looking out at his barely-visible surroundings. Simple. Not easy. He sighed and lit another cigarette, also making sure to change the song on his player to something a little more like his chill standard fare and got to work. Thinking it would be better to start his search where he could see better (because people who were searching for things usually needed to be able to see), he wandered off closer to the cave's entrance to start looking.

  • Akira Johnson - Route 1 >> Beachcliffe

    Akira vs. Violet

Akira glared at the woman, who so rudely interupted her. She gave the woman a once over, and was enraged by her rudeness. How dare she?! She thought, placing a hand on her hip. She turned away, and groaned. "Hag." She muttered.

    "I accept." She said smugly.

She released Bon-Bon from her ball, and watched the trainer. She was frustrated and confused, and not completely sure why her opponent had been so rude. She eye'd her, and announced her name. She then signaled Bon-Bon.

"Go Bon-Bon, use Flail!" Akira called.

Violet made a face, then laughed loudly.

"Are you that fresh that you don't even know how to battle?" she laughed again. "I haven't even let out my Pokémon!" It was true and the Bonsly's attack went nowhere. Violet gripped the ball in her hand hard and pegged it, the ball hitting the ground and releasing a Spoink. "Go, Beach Ball! Use Psywave!" The Spoink cried out, releasing a wave of purple and blue hurtling towards the Bonsly.

Arrg! Now she was upset. Bon-Bon flew back with a loud cry, and Akira straightened her posture.

"Shake it off and use copycat Bon-Bon!" Akira called.

The Pokémon focused on the Spoink, and recalled the move that had just been used. After a bit of concentration, Bon-Bon re-used her opponents moves. The Bonsly let lose a blue-ish purple wave, and forced it toward the Spoink. Let's see how you like it! She thought.

Violet laughed again. The sheer newness of this trainer was astounding. It was if she was born yesterday and somebody had given her a Pokémon somewhere in between. Indeed, the Psywave collided with the Spoink but it did almost no damage at all.

"Were you never taught type disadvantages? Psychic moves are almost useless against my Spoink! Beach Ball! Use Psywave again!" Violet cackled, but her thoughts worried her a bit. Beach Ball had nothing but Splash and Psywave, and she'd already tried Splash and knew it was as useless as lighting a fire underwater. Nevertheless, the way this battle was going she could wipe out this Bonsly with this move alone.

"Can you do nothing but insult people, hag?" Akira smirked. She looked over at Bon-Bon, who had been flung backwards. I need to calm down. I'm not thinking straight, she thought. Now. Spoink is a Psychic type, so using Copycat for it is no good. Akira groaned, and looked over at Bon-Bon.

"Alright, use flail Bon-Bon!" Akira called. The Pokémon hoped to its feet, and charged the Spoink. When Bon-Bon thought she was close enough, she began to flail her limbs.

The attack hit Spoink dead on, and Beach Ball was thrown backwards. Violet scowled, ignoring the girl's remark. Flail did more damage the more Bonsly was hurt. So if she ordered another Psywave, it might be Beach Ball's last. She needed a bit more time and had to make sure the next Psywave would take Bonsly out. An idea sprung to mind and Violet quickly rummaged through her bag, pulling out a mass of berries she had purchased from the next town over. She pulled out a certain berry, which had cost her quite a bit, but she knew it would come in handy.

"Beach Ball! Eat this!" she threw the berry and the Spoink caught it in his mouth and munched down on it.

Akira took the opportunity to attack.

"Use Flail Bon-Bon!" She called, watching the small Pokémon charge the Spoink. Bon-Bon won't be able to handle much more of this.. Akira thought, just as the Bonsly got within range.

Spoink fell back and Violet grinned. Of course, Beach Ball was on his last legs but not before he could take the Bonsly out!

"I used a Petaya Berry! It cost me an arm and a leg but I knew it would be handy in battle! Especially when it raises the power of a special move when Beach Ball's HP falls below 25%! Which it just did! Beach Ball! Use Psywave, and make it really count!"

Bon-Bon flew back, and hit the ground. The Bonsly made a weak cry before fainting were it lie. Oh, no! Akira rushed of to the fainted Pokémon, cradling it in her arms.

"You did a great job, so take a good rest." She soothed, returning Bon-Bon to her ball. SHe switched to Zeus, who let out a screech upon releasal. Akira gave the older trainer a glare, and decided that she could take the Pokémon with Zeus now that it was weak. She looked the the Spoink, and then to Zeus.

"Alright Zeus, use Astonish!" Akira called. The Zubat gave the Spoink a strange look, and released his attack.

Beach Ball fell back, eyes glazed before the orb fell from its head. Damn! That attack must have taken that last amount of damage! It was too bad... That Petaya berry had been so expensive too! She pulled the ball off her hip and returned Beach Ball, sighing a little.

"Nice job, buddy. You're next, Fang! Quick Attack!" A Rattata burst forth from the ball Violet threw, attacking from above the Zubat, aiming directly for its skull.

Akira cheered, and gave Zeus a nod after the Spoink had fainted. But she soon realized there was no time for celebration. Violet released a Rattata named Fang, and called for it to use quick attack. Zeus flew back, and lifted slowly. "Baat!" Zeus cried. Akira tensed, and decided to focus.

"Alrighty then, Zeus, use Supersonic!" Akira called. Zeus took a step back for a moment, and then bellowed a earsplitting screech.

Fang immediately became rather dizzy, toppling over itself. Violet cursed under her breath, but at least she had come prepared. She would really have to go back and thank that 'Berry Master' in Camp Kangaskahn. She pulled something out of her bag and quicky made her way over to Fang, helping him eat a Persim Berry. The dizzyness was almost instantly cured and Violet jumped out of the way, Fang ready to battle again.

Akira watched Violet pull yet another berry from her bag. This is ridiculous. Akira looked at Zeus, who seemed to be holding out pretty well. She looked at the Rattata before her, Fang if she remembered correctly, and groaned. Good thing Zeus has that Sitirus Berry. She thought to herself.

"Use Supersonic once more, Zeus!" Akira called. Zeus bellowed another screech, a little louder than the last, and Akira watched the Rattata carefully.

"Fang! Quick Attack around and out of the way!" Fang, ready for the screech, darted around behind the Zubat, out of its firing range. It had already been taken off guard by the Supersonic, there was no way that was happening again.

Gotcha! Akira pointed skyward, and commanded Zeus to go up. She looked at the Rattata and hoped to Arceus it worked.

"Spin around with Supersonic!" Akira called, as the Zubat zipped upward all the while spinning, and gave a loud screech. C'mon!

Violet grinned again. How fresh could this girl get! Everyone knew that you needed a direct attack to land a confusion. The Supersonic hit Fang, but since the Zubat was spinning, the Supersonic was weak and Fang could easily shake each one off as it passed over him.

"Tackle from underneath while it's busy! Aim for its chest!!" Violet cheered on her Rattata. Fang may look small and weak but she knew he packed a punch.

For an older trainer, Violet most have gotten hit by the confusion. It was a tactical error Violet would pay for. Dearly. There was no time like the present, so Akira began to strike.

"Heh! Zeus, flex your wings and knock 'em back!" Akira called with delight. So the first plan didn't work out, but hopefully the second would be more fruitful. This strategy is just like wing attack, but it's not the move at all. Akira thought. Zeus flexed out it's wings, and continued to spin while the Rattata charged.

Rattata was beaten down, but flung itself back up. Not being an actual attack, it was the same as a slap on the wrist rather than a punch in the face. Or maybe a slap in the face? Creative, but it wasn't enough for any kind of direct hit. Nice try. But, at the moment, Zubat was in no way an easily attacked opponent. It was time to switch to defence. That Zubat would tire itself out quick enough if it was spinning around, using weird waves of Supersonic and flapping its wings as hard as it could. Akira waited for retaliation.

Fang cried in pain, and Violet cringed at the noise. It hurt her inside for her friend to be hurting like this. She clenched her fists, wanting to dash in to save him but she knew he could save himself.

"Fang! It's so close, it's right there!! Tackle Zubat's head!" Fang, pulling hard to force himself free, used his back legs to propel himself forward, aiming right for the Zubat's skull inches away.

Zeus took the blow head on, and had he not used leech life, he'd be done for. Akira winced, and forced herself to pay attention to the battle. It was about time to end this. Zeus was almost ready to faint, and Akira had no idea how the Rattata was faring. Her only option was to keep using leech life and hope for the best. It's go time. She thought.

"Now Zeus, use leech life again!" She called, willing Zeus to stay strong. Zeus flitted hardily towards the Rattata, and droped low to add more power to the bite that was approaching. Please work, she thought helplessly.

Fang cried out again, a little louder this time, as Zubat sucked the life out of him. He managed to pull free again, not without panting heavy. It was easy to see Fang wouldn't hold out much longer and neither would Zubat. It was time to end this so that Violet could take her Pokémon back to camp to heal them.

"Fang! Give it your all! Quick Attack! Straight at it!" Fang chirped in reply, and again, used his back legs to shoot like a speeding bullet straight for the Zubat, teeth bared.

Zeus tried his best to fly away, but he was to weak, and the Zubat only managed a few inches until the Rattata charged teeth bared and clamped down on Zeus. Zeus struggled for a bit, and thn collasped. Zeus had fainted. Zeus lie there un moving until Akira rushed over and cushioned it's head. Akira gave Zeus a big smile, and put the Pokémon back in it's ball.

"You did a perfect job Zeus." Akira said happily. With no more Pokémon to battle with, the two trtainers pared ways. Akira headed back to Beachcliffe, and healed her Pokémon.

"Tail Whip, Fang!" The Rattata removed itself from the Zubat's range, and wagged its tail. Violet wasn't sure how it worked, but it was meant to lower Defence.

Zeus stopped spinning, and watchd Rattata whip it's tail. It looked weird to Zeus, who was losinng his defensive position to watch. Zeus moved closer to Rattata, and Akira could tell he was facinated by the Rattata's strange behavior. No time to play Zeus. She thought with a sigh.

"Zeus, use leech life!" Akira called. Zeus snapped back into focus, and clamped it's teeth down onto Rattata's neckline. Lifting and backing away as fast as it could, Akira waited for retaliation.

    Alan Destin

With a loud noise, the small, green dinosaur once again broke out from its captivity, breaking the forest's silence once more. Alan took a small glance at yet another broken ball and sighed. Am I really having this bad of luck? he thought as he looked upon the two green Pokemon. I just can't give up on this though... If I do, not only will I lose this rare Pokemon, but because if I were to quite, I would lose any hope for this race. It's better to fail than to give up. He knew that he needed to catch this.

Luckily, Flash seemed to have gained some strength while the Bulbasaur was stuck in the ball and not only that, but the wild Pokemon was also still confused and paralyzed. Thanks Arceus. The Pokemon seemed to be weak enough that just one more hit would do the job without fainting it. "Flash, hit it with all you've got!"

Flash did just that without a second thought, tackling the dinosaur with all her might. As if it were now or never, Alan threw one more Pokeball, seemingly putting his heart and soul into it. Anymore, this battle wasn't a test of skill, but a test of luck. Would Alan's bad luck reign supreme or will the slightest bit of good luck prevail?

  • Sean and Cody: Film Extraordinaires! -- Beachcliffe Beachside!
Apollo: A Journey of the Gifted [T] [IC]

The beach, like expected, was a lot of fun. Even though they just left the water not too long before, Sean was more than eager to take off his shoes and dive back into it. He'd never been to a beach before which was disappointing with all of the beaches he'd seen on TV. Now that he was at one, all he wanted to do was relax in the sun and enjoy it for a couple days. He probably would have forgotten about his responsibilities if it weren't for the camera, but its influence in that decision was not as high as Cody's. Cody did very little in the water and sand. She did splash around a bit, jumping in the water, tossing it around, and even tangling around Sean's feet and sending him falling into the water. At first Sean thought it was an accident, but after the third and forth time he became a little suspicious. When he caught Cody giggling quietly, he knew for sure. She was a good liar though. As soon as he turned to say something to her, she already had that far away look she always did and walked away from him. Maybe she wasn't the Pokemon he thought she was?

When they spotted a group of Wingull on the beach, Cody made sure to pull Sean's leg to get his attention. The Wingull were gathered around in a tight group, all of them hopping and flying about over something Sean couldn't quite see. He squinted his eyes and leaned forward for a better look. At the end of their group, right against the edge of the water, was a Krabby. In one of its huge claws it held some sort of fish while the other snapped to fend off the seagulls. It was a sad sight. They had the Krabby vastly outnumbered and they weren't giving it much slack. The fish it held was pulled and picked at constantly, so much so that the ends of its tail were shredded and ugly. Some Wingull were lucky when they pulled off a strip, others were snatched by the big claw and tossed away into one of their fellow Pokemon. When it had a moment's rest, the Krabby would start to bury itself under the sand, but its efforts were mostly futile. Whenever it went under, a Wingull would just grab the Krabby's leg in its peak and pull it back up.

"See that, Cody?" Sean said with a big grin. "How cool is that?" Sean turned his camera back on and filmed the spectacle. Sean cheered when Wingull were suddenly blasted away by the bubbles coming out of the Krabby's mouth. It was a nice show, but it only made the Wingull angrier and the ones circling ahead opened their mouths and returned an attack of their own. The Wingull opened their mouths wide and shot out streams of water at the Krabby. It dodged the first attack, but was helplessly pummeled by the second, third, and fourth ones.

"Urr!" Sean looked down when he heard Cody's cry and was shocked when he saw she wasn't there. When he looked up she had gone ahead of him, running towards the crowd of Wingull.

"Wait, Cody!" Sean frowned, knowing full well that if Cody went over there either the fight would break up and the scene would be ruined or she'd be attacked by the already agitated Pokemon. The Wingull's assault, however, was already in full affect and in no time the Krabby was knocked off its feet, fish free from its hands. The Wingull didn't give the Krabby a chance to pick it back up. One of them grabbed the fish and flew off, the others following behind and starting another small battle in the air. They had left Cody behind and she stood where they had been just a moment ago, eyes to the sky and arms outstretched, reaching after them. Sean lowered his camera and sighed, she looked pitiful.

Cody didn't look away from the sky until the Krabby got up on its feet and snapped its claws at her. Cody turned towards it and eyed the pokemon questioningly. The Krabby kept snapping and making what were probably threatening vocalizations. Cody must have been too close. She didn't move either, even after Sean called her to get away. Cody took a step forward and the Krabby swung its big claw at her, missing her body only by a hair. Sean stepped forward to sweep Cody away from the wild Pokemon, but she did something he didn't expect. Cody took a step back from the Krabby and dipped her head down to the side. She crossed both arms behind her back and looked up at the Krabby shyly, her eyes, normally emotionless, held a spark. For the first time her lips showed a new emotion and gave her a small smile. Sean couldn't help but think something he hadn't thought before, that maybe Cody wasn't all that creepy, but actually a bit of a cute Pokemon too. The Krabby seemed to hesitate and then lowered its claw.

"Koki..." The Krabby noised as once again Cody approached it, coveting the wary Pokemon more with each step. When she fully reached it, the Krabby had let down some of its guard, but was still weary. Sean smiled, what was Cody going to do, pet it? "Koki-?" The Krabby couldn't get much of a word out before Cody pulled her hands from behind her back and boxed the Krabby about the head. It surprised both Sean and the wild Pokemon and while they were in shock, Cody laughed. The Krabby broke out of the daze soon enough and snatched Cody quickly up with its big claw. The Krabby threw her away from it and she landed harshly in the sand.

"Hey!" Sean yelled at the Krabby that threw his Pokemon and marched right over to it. The Krabby took the same fighting stance it had when Cody approached it. "Ah, stow it!" Sean raised his foot and kicked the Krabby, sending it back into the shallows of the water. "Cody!?" He turned to assist his fallen Espurr, but by the time he'd looked she had already gotten up and stood close to his side. The playful expression from before was gone and returned to its normal, neutral state. "Are you okay?" He asked her. He went ignored. Cody pointed ahead and murmured her name. His eyes followed her hand and landed on the Krabby that had gotten back up and come back to them. Sean growled, "You want some more you little--?"

"Espurr!" Huh? Sean looked down and watched as Cody stepped ahead of him, standing before the Krabby. Did she want to fight? As though she could read his mind, Cody answered with a nod. "Esp."

"Well okay then," Sean grinned. How exactly did you battle again? He knew all he had to do was yell out commands, but Sean himself had never battled before. What moves did Cody even know? Sean had asked himself the same question on the boat, and after fiddling with the Pokedex for a bit, figured out exactly how to get them. It wasn't easy and Sean couldn't remember what he had done to even get to that screen. Luckily he had the foresight to know to write everything down. Now where was it? In his pocket? Sean dug in his pocket to find the paper, it didn't do much good though. While he searched for the paper, Cody and the Krabby had already started their battle. Cody leered at the Krabby, her eyes glowing, and the Pokemon's stance faltered. When the light faded, Cody advanced towards the Krabby and it opened its mouth as she did, sending wall of bubbles towards her. If Sean had to leave an opinion, he'd say those bubbles looked absolutely harmless, but when they hit Cody, she reacted as if each bubble was a lighter-than-air package for punches. If that were true, Sean didn't think he'd ever understand how Pokemon power worked.

"Aha!" John exclaimed when he felt the paper in his pocket and pulled out his list of Cody's attacks. He opened the wrinkled piece of paper while Cody brought her claws across the Krabby's face. Now what move was that? Oh. Scratch probably. That was one down off the list. And the others? Leer and Covet. What exactly were those moves and which one was which? Sean figured he'd have to try one and see. "Cody! Use..." What did he want to use? Hm. "Leer!" That one sounded useful. Cody was pushed back by another set of bubbles, but on Cody's command her eyes glowed again and the Krabby shuddered. Oh, so that one was Leer. He was pretty proud of himself for that one. Now, now... What next? Sean didn't know what this Covet thing was, so instead he called out Scratch. When he did, Cody pulled out her small claws and raked them down the Krabby's face another time. The Krabby responded with another bubble attack.

When Sean gave both the Pokemon a good look, he could see they were tired. The battle felt short and probably was, but the two of them breathed heavily and probably didn't have much in them before they tuckered out. Cody did look better than the Krabby, but that didn't make Sean more willing to keep her fighting. Sean knew from TV and word of mouth that the next logical step was to either faint the Pokemon or catch it. Sean was already sure he didn't want Cody to be hit by one of those bubble things again. (Which, he must add, he was hit by one and was surprised that it actually hurt.) His other option? Capture. The idea of catching a Pokemon made Sean excited, the only time he'd caught Pokemon was with his bare hands and most of them he let go.

"Purr!" Sean snapped out of his thoughts when Cody gave a cry, bubbles around her. When she got passed them, she attacked the Krabby with another scratch. The Pokemon's actions made him realize he needed to react quickly after making his decisions or else they were likely to keep going. Sean juggled his camera as he dug in the bag for a Pokeball, trying to make sure he still got a good shot all the while. He grinned when he felt one of the small orbs inside and pulled it out. A tap in the middle enlarged it.

"Okay, first catch!" Cody looked like she was going to attack the Krabby again, but the thrown ball hit it first and a red light took it away. Cody stood there for a moment, shock on her face, but in no time at all it melted back into the expressionless look she always had. Cody reached for the ball, but Sean told her no. He wanted to see what would happen first.

Apollo: A Journey of the Gifted [T] [IC]

Relieved from the stressful battle, October took her first step out of the woods and into the open air of Kangaskahn fields. She took in a deep breath, gulping it down as she relished the sunlight that now bathed her body. Returning January to her ball, October took up a quick pace, marching along the stony road with intent as she sauntered up to the Camp. With April fainted and January not far off, her main priority was to find a place to heal them both before exploring around the camp. The tents all sat in disarray on either side of the stony path that ran through the centre of the camp, making it hard to figure out which tents were stalls and which were homes. Many served as both of these purposes and more, yet she didn't have time to stop and smell the dandelions.

"Excuse me sir," she tapped an old looking man on the shoulder, his gaze seemingly cast out across the expansive field that undulated around the camp, "could you tell me where I can find a place to heal my Pokémon?" She lifted up the two tiny, red balls in her hand, showing the man.

His gaze shifted from the far corner of the field to look in her eyes, causing October to stiffen a bit. His sunken and weary eyes seemed almost lifeless as his wrinkles no doubt told tales of many adventures on Apollo. "I can," he spoke in a hoarse whisper, causing October to lean in closer to the unclean man.

"Where?" she asked hurriedly, becoming slightly annoyed at the man's attempt to slow her progress and deviate her further from her goal.

"In this camp, of course," he chuckled, revealing two rows of yellow teeth; many missing in places. October screwed up her nose as the man's breath only served to emphasise his lack of dental hygiene.

"Where in this camp?" she asked again, even more annoyed this time.

"You need to slow down, young one," the man wheezed condescendingly, "otherwise time will pass you before you know it." He continued to chew whatever foul weed he had in his mouth before spitting it out onto the ground in front of October. "Right over there," the old man nodded his head in the direction of a tent, a small, minimalistic styled PokeBall painted on the side obscured slightly by another tent.

"Thank you," she said sarcastically, finally ready to get away from the man and back to her adventure at hand. Before she could walk away, the man's frail hand wrapped around her wrist tight enough that she felt as if she tried to walk away, it would simply break off.

"It is not about the destination, but rather the journey," again his sunken weary eyes gazed deep into hers as if he was reading her very soul. It sent shivers up her spine, but soon the man let go and October rushed over to the tent.

As she opened the flap to the tent, a soft, feminine voice greeted her, "Welcome, how may I help you today?" As she entered the rather large tent, October had to stop for a moment and catch her breath.

Sitting behind a bench, an old styled recovery machine behind her sat a lady around the same age as October. Her face was flawless, as if any imperfections dared not to mar it. Her hair, long and golden blonde like the stray tussocks in the fields around them curled slightly as it sat on her shoulders. Beneath her golden fringe, a pair of lush green eyes met October's; captivating her with the most beautiful person she had ever seen before. October was simply stunned, she had never expected to see someone so beautiful out in a place like this. Her heart beat a thousand times a minute before she realised she had actually stopped halfway into the tent and was quite rudely staring.

"I'm sorry; can I get my Pokémon healed?" Her palms were sweaty, knees weak and hands shaking like she was in the middle of an earthquake. She couldn't help but stammer slightly with her words as she forced herself to strike up the courage to talk to this girl.

"Certainly," the girl smiled a most perfect smile at October before taking the balls from her hand and attaching them to two of the six slots available. Pushing a couple of buttons and typing in several commands, the recovery unit whirred into life; it's yellow light bathing each ball as it healed the Pokémon inside. "What brings you to Camp Kangaskahn, traveller?"

October gulped, words stuck in her throat as she worked up the ability to talk again after spending so much time in her head marvelling at the beauty of this girl. "I came as an explorer, for Jacobi," she blurted out, "I came to look for the treasures of old times."

The girl looked almost disappointed at October's reasoning for coming to the island, and inside her gut she felt a pang of regret for causing such emotion on one so beautiful. "Oh, I see," was all she murmured as behind her, the recovery unit 'dinged' and she handed October her Pokémon back. Bowing her head, she held the balls out on a tray in front of her, eyes cast down to the floor and arms not wavering. "I wish you luck on your journey." Were the last words she spoke before October took the balls, standing up from her knees and leaving the tent, and girl, behind her.

Once out in the open, she let out a large sigh, reminding herself that she was here on a mission for Jacobi to find this treasure; not on the hunt her the woman of her dreams. Still, she inwardly kicked herself for making herself seem like a fool in front of such a beautiful girl. If she ever came back to this Camp, she would make sure to return with the treasure in hand and whisk the girl away from her mediocre existence.

Turning on her heels, October was about to walk back onto the main path and have a look around the camp when a man called out to her from her right, "Lady! Yes, you! I see you are new to these lands, please browse my wares, I have much to offer!" The man was loud and raucous, making such a big deal about her arrival in the camp in which many of the residents had no care about in the world. His skin was worn from exposure in the sun, but his attitude seemed more high spirited than ever.

"Sure," she responded cautiously, pocketing both her Pokémon before browsing the man's wares. Among the general clutter of potions, Pokeballs and Fresh Waters, he also possessed a couple of TMs and an HM; something October wasn't all too worried about at the present time. She picked up the Kangaskhan totem that lay off to the side, rubbing her thumb over it as she admired its craftsmanship. She returned it to its original position just to the side; it bringing back the recent memories of fainting the wild Kangaskhan back in the forest. She didn't need anything else reminding her of the silly boy who decided to get in her way so much.

As the man shifted from foot to foot, hoping for October to purchase his wares, October spotted a Pokémon Egg sitting neatly on the table behind the man. "Is that egg for sale?" she asked the man politely as he handed it over for her to inspect. She palmed the egg from hand to hand, wondering what Pokémon could possibly exist inside the mysterious egg. "What can you tell me of the parents this egg came from?" October kept the egg firmly in her hands as not to drop it while she waited for the man to speak.

  • Sean and Cody: Film Extraordinaires! -- Beachcliffe Beachside!
Apollo: A Journey of the Gifted [T] [IC]

"Yeah!" Sean exclaimed, snatching up the Pokeball faster than he'd ever snatched anything. This was sweet! Sweeter than sweet! The sweetest of sweets! His first Pokemon! Wasn't that great!? Sean turned to Cody, excitement still running through him. "Cody! First Poke--!" He cut himself off when he noticed his mistake. "Second Pokemon," he corrected with a wink. "First caught though," he nodded, satisfied with the reminder. Cody's expression didn't change. In all his excitement, she still didn't care. Sean made a face and lifted up the Pokeball he had in his hand and started tapping Cody on the forehead with it. "Anybody up there?" He said with a smile. She didn't do much but squint her eyes and slap his hand away. "Okay, okay, I'm sorry." Sean still laughed, though. "Alright! Now let's see this guy!" Sean gripped the ball eagerly. "Come on out, Krabby!"

    ...!

    ...?

... Nothing happened. Huh. Sean looked down at his ball. So maybe it didn't work quite like it did on TV. Alright then. Sean turned the ball over and over. So how did you get the Pokemon out? "Do these things come with instructions?" Sean muttered to no one in particular. Cody seemed to be a little more educated than he did. She reached out with her paw and tapped the button in the middle quickly. In a moment, the ball opened and release white energy. "Oh... Why didn't I think of that?" When the light faded the Krabby from before was standing, this time under new ownership. "So how does it feel to be owned by the best?" Sean said to it.

The Krabby opened its mouth to speak, but Cody beat it to the punch. Without provocation she started beating her little paws on the Krabby's shell. Sean ended up having to snatch her up.

"Hey, hey, hey! We're not fighting anymore, yeah?" Cody kept tossing her arms around but eventually died down. The Krabby huddled into itself, injured and recently abused. "Don't hit the new guy!" Sean looked at the Krabby. "You are a guy, right?" Sean took a quick glance down. Nope! It's a girl! Well that was pretty si-- Oh wait a minute. This was some kind of crab, right? It's not that easy to find out. Well how the heck was he supposed to figure out if this thing was a girl or a boy or not? He wasn't an expert or anything like that. "Okay, one nod for a boy, two nods for a girl." The Krabby didn't react, just looked at him from under its arm with cautious eyes. Sean sighed. Why did he have to have the unresponsive Pokemon? Sean dropped his bag and rummaged through it for a bit before pulling out his blue-colored Pokedex. Maybe this thing will tell him? Sean sat down in the sand and opened up the device; it immediately turned on to its home screen. It had a pretty simple background with a tiny Pokeball icon on it. The home screen gave him a few options: POKEMON, POKEDEX, APPS, SEAN, CONTACTS, and OPTIONS. Sean had already clicked around on the thing before and was amazed at the Pokedex's look in general. He never had one before, in fact, not a lot of people did! And Sean could see why. First of all, the thing just looked expensive, second it was almost as good as a phone, and third it was a complete encyclopedia of all the Pokemon discovered. Sean had to admit, when he looked through there he didn't know half of the Pokemon in there. Very few he knew because he'd seen them before, even fewer he knew the names of. When he clicked on the Pokemon, the Pokedex opened an information box that gave him short sentences, species information, and regional information. It was pretty cool. He checked out what it said about Cody and it had a bit about her having psychic energy under her ears. Sean wanted to check it out, but when it got to the part about blasting away things three hundred feet, he changed his mind. Still the Pokedex was pretty cool, it even had an ADD POKEMON option on the off chance he discovered something never-before-seen. It also gave you the option to clear everything, you know, just in case you're some idiot who wants to rescan seven-hundred-something Pokemon on your own. Sean laughed and then declined that prompt.

Overall, the Pokedex was pretty simple to use, even though he still had trouble figuring out some things. OPTIONS was pretty straight forward. He had gone in there early and had changed the Pokedex's background colors. APPS was a little different. Apps? Where was he going to get apps from? Apps for what? SEAN was just this little thing with his information and a picture of him, kind of like a little Pokedex ID. It even showed him how many Pokemon were loaded onto the Pokedex and how many he had seen or captured (last time he checked it only said one). CONTACTS was also pretty straight forward. When Sean looked in the tab before, it had everyone that was on the boat registered, even Ms. Jacobi. You couldn't call anybody, but you could send short text messages. Sean doubted he would talk very often, if at all. But anyways, back to what he opened this thing for: the POKEMON tab. Sean clicked the icon and it opened up a dark screen with six slots going down to the bottom. The first slot was already filled with Cody's preset data. It showed a little icon of her jumping up and down vigorously, her little health bar up to max, her gender, and a little thing showing her level. Cody was level five. The Pokedex even had his Krabby registered in it already. Which was really cool. The Pokeballs must have been connected or something? Sean guessed that's why the other slots were there. They didn't say anything but PKB3, PKB4, PKB5, and PKB6. Each grey slot had a big red EMPTY on it. Along with these little icons and do-dads, were little text boxes that said "LAST UPDATED:" and then a time. The Krabby's had 2 MIN(S) while Cody's said 3 DAY(S), but Sean didn't know what that meant. Anyways, the 'dex had his Krabby listed as KRABBY and with its own little icon too! It didn't jump up and down as vigorously as Cody's did, though. In fact, the little health bar thing was reduced all of the way to red and the whole box, which was green on Cody, was also red. There was also an exclamation mark on its box. Curious, Sean pressed it.

WARNING: YOUR POKEMON KRABBY IS CLOSE TO FAINTING! PLEASE APPLY APPROPRIATE MEDICATION OR FIND A POKEMON CENTER!

The Pokedex started playing this really annoying beeping-siren-warning-noise-thing that Sean really didn't like. As soon as he closed the box, the beeping stopped too. Thank god. A second later, another icon popped up. WOULD YOU LIKE TO NICKNAME YOUR POKEMON? Sure. Sean accepted the dialogue box and was immediately given a little keyboard. On it had that Krabby icon, and conveniently, the Pokemon's gender. It was a girl! So he was right? Without much though, Sean entered KRABETTE into the keyboard, too lazy to switch to lowercase letters. When he pressed OK another dialogue box popped up.

ONCE A NAME IS ENTERED INTO THE DATABASE IT CANNOT BE CHANGED. ARE YOU SURE?

Yes! Wait... No. Dangit. Sean clicked no and put a few more seconds thought into it. Then he put in another name: GEORGETTE. Yeah, that would work. Sean closed his Pokedex finally, CODY and GEORGETTE entered into the device for the rest of eternity. Sean at his two Pokemon from over the device. They both looked tired. He could understand Georgette, but Cody's little info thing said she was perfectly fine, why was that? Sean was reminded of that warning the Pokedex gave him. He had a potion in his bag, but...

"You guys think you could walk it off, right?" Georgette groaned and Cody said nothing. That sounded close enough to a yes to him! Sean stood up and put away his Pokedex. "Alright, let's go then!" He started off in the direction of the town, his two Pokemon walking behind him, though Georgette walked the slowest. The first thing they did was sight see. There weren't that many sights to see really, wooden houses and all that, but it was enough to give an introduction of Beachcliffe. The three of them went from person to person, introducing themselves and taking short interviews about Beachcliffe. It was very nice place from the reviews they got and good food mixed with cheap prices wasn't so hard to find either! That was good news, Sean was hungry. A few people here and there asked him about his Pokemon and pointed to their little Pokemon Center which was all of the way up a hill. He'd go, he told them, but Sean knew that wouldn't be until later. After he finished surveying the people he found one of those cheap shops to get some grub. Yeah it was cheap, but Sean realized he didn't have that much money anyways. The food he got ended up taking half of the cash in his pocket, but after he and his Pokemon ate, he decided it was worth it. In fact, the food looked like it made Cody and Georgette look better, though not greatly.

Sean's last stop was at a merchant shop, but he was unimpressed by the selection. Just potions and food. Things he already had, in other words. Sean didn't really want to spend money if he didn't have to. He looked up at the hill where the Pokemon Center sat. It was a pretty big hill, as in, too big for him to want to climb it. Looking at his Pokemon he figured he should anyways. Besides, it was a hill, maybe he'd find something cool?

"Hey, do you know an easier way to get up there?" Sean asked the merchant, pointing up at the Pokemon Center.

Timothy- Day 1 Afternoon -Route 1 and Camp Kangaskahn
    Emily
Tim was walking into the town when a kid with bright red hair stopped him. "If you wanna get to Camp Kangaskahn you gotta battle me first!" Tim furrowed his eyebrows and sighed, his Pokemon where not doing great, but at the end of a long hike he couldn't stop now. He HAD to win.

    "If you say so,"

"I do say so! GO ROXY!" Out of the girl's Pokeball popped a bird that matched perfectly with the girl's bright hair. It's head and neck were exactly the same color. Tim guessed this Pokemon was from Kalos, he had never seen it like the Bunnelby thing. He pulled out his Pokedex and pressed the red button again.

"Fletchling. Tiny Robin Pokémon. These friendly Pokémon send signals to one another with beautiful chirps and tail-feather movements." Tim stared at the Pokemon on the ground. This Pokemon was just like every other first evolution bird type he had faced or had. If he was right it was normal and flying type. Perfect for Darumaka's Rollout. he sent out his rolling Pokemon.

"Okay, Darumaka, use Rollout." Darumaka rolled towards the bird, not too quickly though.

The bird flew to the side and its trainer ordered, "Roxy, Growl!" The bird screeched at Darumaka, and Darumaka slowed down a little. It made anther pass at the Fletchling, this time it hit, knocking the Fletchling back a few feet. It looked very hurt, the super effective move damaging it badly. Darumaka went in for another pass, gaining speed quickly. "ROXY! QUICK ATTACK!" the bird flew at Darumaka, smashing into it. The attack ended up doing damage to both, because Darumaka wasn't going incredibly fast, but it still had speed. The Fletchling looked like it couldn't withstand one more hit, and Darumaka smashed into it before it could react or dodge. The Pokemon fell to the ground and its trainer stared in shock. Darumaka rolled to a stop shaking its head. The other trainer solemnly returned her Pokemon. Tim returned Darumaka as well, and sent out Sentret. "Go Vivian," the opposing girl said lacking the fire she had earlier. Out of the Pokeball came a Pachurisu. Tim furrowed his eyebrows, this fight might not go well. At least there was Darumaka to lean on just in case. "Vivian, Bide." Tim knew this strategy, and he wasn't about to let it work.

"Sentret, use Defense Curl until the Pachurisu attacks, then use Scratch." The girl scowled, but Sentret made no effort to follow Tim's directions. Tim sighed as Sentret Scratched the Pachurisu. The Pachurisu made no effort to attack as Tim knew it wouldn't. Sentret looked angry that it wasn't reacting, and slammed a harder Scratch into it. The Pachurisu fell back a little and growled, but didn't attack. Not yet. Tim yelled out, "SENTRET STOP!" but alas, Sentret delivered the most powerful Scratch yet which caused Pachurisu to cry out. Luckily for it, it was done waiting. With Sentret and such a close range, it took one step backwards, and slammed into Sentret with double the power Sentret put into it. Sentret fell backwards, completely totaled. Tim groaned and said, "Next time listen to me," and returned Sentret, sending out Darumaka.

"Bide again," The trainer said triumphantly.

"You should be able to take it out with two Tackles Darumaka, so use Tackle," Tim commanded. Darumaka nodded and jumped into the Pachurisu, causing it to fall back and wince. Darumaka then threw itself at the Pachurisu, using gravity to its advantage. Darumaka picked itself up, and sure enough, under it lay an unmoving Pachurisu. The other trainer sneered and returned her Pokemon.

    Day 1 Chapter 2.2: Afternoon

    October Carter
The man lifted his head from adjusting his wares, smiling brightly at his new customer.

"That egg? Why, a traveller, much like yourself, was passing through back towards Beachcliffe. He said that he had found it in the next Route over and had no time to take care of whatever was inside of it. He was very hasty though, so something tells me he didn't just find it." The man tapped his nose, obviously his gestures meaning that the man had stolen the egg from somewhere. "That's all I know about it, unfortunately. Were you interested in purchasing it?"

The egg itself was plain looking, and nothing about it could really give an indicator what was inside it. The only thing that it was was smooth, hard and warm.

"You be daft, boy?" The merchant raised an eyebrow, poking his head out to inspect the path up Beachcliffe. "The path, you follow the path up. The only other way is rockclimbing, which I'm sure isn't as fun as it sounds!" The man chuckled, giving Sean a wink.

"Are you new here, boy? You seem like it..." He paused a moment, then a lightbulb blinked on in his head. "Listen, how about you do me a favour?" He quickly rummaged through some of the stock and held out a letter. "Go give this to the lovely lady at the Center and there'll be something in it for ya." He shook the letter a little, trying to entice Sean, if that was possible.

  • Akira Johnson - Beachcliffe >> Route 1

Akira wandered around, ane trudged down the path, reeking of depression. I'm a tacticain! How could I have lost?! She began to stomp down the path. She watched her step, but that didn't help to calm her any. She looked back to Bon Bon, who was trying her best to keep up. She slowed, and waited for the Bonsly before giving it an apologetic smile. I just don't get it. I know what I have to do, but I don't know how to get it done. She groaned, and looked down to find Bon Bon nuzzling her leg soothingly. Kneeling on her knees, Akira gave the Bondly a cheerful look and a pat on the head.

"Your right. I can just mope because of one loss. C'mon, let's go train!" She cheered happily, grabbing the now squealing Bon Bon.

    ***

Akira roamed the area, and decided to search for more Pokèmon. She hoped for another chance to prove herself as well, but that would have to wait for now. She could see a lone Pokèmon up ahead, but couldn't exactly tell what is was until she got closer. Definitely a Pidgey. They're a common appearance back home. She remembered looking at a sky full of them, but that was the only time she could remember. Now, seeing one up close, she had to have it. The Pidgey turned toward them, and began to lift from the ground.

"Bon Bon, stop it with Flail!" Akira called, willing the Bonsly forward. Bon Bon flew towards the Pidgey, and jumped above it. Soon being pulled down to earth, Bon Bon flailed her tiny limbs, knocking the Pidgey down. Pidgey, angered by it's failed escape, charged Bon Bon with tackle. Rolling back, the Bonsly hopped to it's feet. Okay, now what? Akira thought, trying to decide her next move. She looked over at Bon Bon, and called to her.

    "Use Copycat!"

Bon Bon obeyed, and focused on remembering her foes move. Pumped and ready to go, Bon Bon charged with a fierce tackle. The Pidgey flew up, dodging the move gracefully, and countered with an air-borne tackle. Bon Bon flew back, and Akira murmured something. The Bonsly, apparently close enough to hear it, jumped to it's feet. Charging the Pidgey, Bon Bon swiped her limbs across the Pidgey's head, knocking it back with Flail. With a smirk, Akira grabbed a Pokèball from her belt, and launched it at the Pidgey.

Anise was very excited about the wall there was actually something to this cave beyond Zubats and Digletts. After letting Ben do his thing, she came close to the wall to examine it. The four stones were much like the stone that originally called her to the cave. Each were an odd colour, with swirls of blue and red and white. Her thoughts were interrupted by another ease dropper. Seems to be the life of the girl these days.

"A puzzle?" She asked with her arrival. Unsure of what the girl may have though, she decided to take a kind approach and explain the situation to her.

"Yeah, there was a stone that the merchant back in town was selling that apparently came from this cave, but some jerk with a fedora came in and bought the rock after the merchant was going to give it to me for free. Make his life miserable if you ever happen on him. Anyways the stones here remind me of the rock I was originally going to buy, before Barry messed everything up.If we still had the rock would we could see what would happen if we put the stone in the slot."

Anise figured the rock may have been a key and that she would run into that Barry guy inside the cave, get the stone from him either via a battle (with some help from Benjamin) or through force if necessary, but it seemed her planning yielding little results as the boy never showed up. The whole scenario was a bit disappointing, but on further thought, the girl found insight.

"Buuuuuut, maybe the trick isn't that we need to put something in, but we have to take something out. Where do you think the trainer who sold the rock to the merchant found the rock in the first place? My bet is that he took it from this node and then away before he could see the whole picture. If I'm wrong, at least I can still bring them back to the merchant like I promised."

The notion of the trainer having something to run away from made Anise a little nervous, but there was no reason in bringing that up to Benjamin nor Yukari. With her usual confidence, the girl prodded at the embedded stones to see if they would come out. With just enough poking, the initial stone fell from its slot quickly followed by the other three. Anise grinned while pocketing each stone.

As if on cue, the wall and ground around them began to rumble violently, Ben rushing to a random stalagmite to hold on. The wall glowed dimly then, slowly lowered, the rumbling echoing throughout the cave. A wave of Diglett rushed by them, avoiding their feet to scurry towards the entrance of the cave. What were they running from?

Anise hurried over to the stalagmite Ben held onto. Stratos awoke from his respite onto of Anise's head and readied itself for battle with the prospect of all the pokemon.

"I don't think I'm ever going to like Digletts after today." Anise complained as she moved out of the way of the swarming pokemon, keeping her eye on the door and more important all the people who suddenly appeared once the prospect of a reward was in her sight.

As the door reached the floor, a Rhyhorn was visible from the other side. It looked like it was sleeping, but obviously not for long, as its eyes sprung open and it roared at Anise and Benjamin. He wasn't an expert but Ben could tell that this Pokémon was no happy chappy.

    "Th-this does not l-look g-g-ood!!"

The Rhyhorn charged out of it's confinement, charging straight after Anise, the keep of the stones. In an adrenaline filled yell she called out for her Pokémon.

    "Stratos, Astonish!"

Following the prompt, the Pokémon swooped infront of the Rhyhorn and let out an eerie cry bringing the rhyhorn to a stop. With a quick dash, it poked at the Pokémon's armor leaving it practically unharmed. Stratos flew back into the air to stay out the Rhyhorn's reach.

Anise rushed from the stalagmite to get away from the incredibly scary Rhyhorn. Quickly understanding that Stratos wasn't going to be capable of harming the Rhyhorn, she knew she was going to have to rely on some of the trainers in the cave to do work for her.

    "Ben use Snaps!"

Yukari nodded, carefully listening to the girl's explanation while holding her makeshift torch towards the wall, in order to see what everything she was listening to was exactly. She giggled upon noticing the pretty girl's grudge on the " jerk with a fedora" whose name was, apparently, Barry. She knew she wouldn't be able to make anyone's life miserable, but she nodded nonetheless.

All of the sudden, the white-haired girl whose name Yukari STILL didn't know came up with an interesting theory and started picking out the odd rocks from their intended slots. The walls and the ground started rumbling violently, causing Yukari to almost lose her balance and fall over. When the wall in front of them started glowing, the girl froze in fear, watching in amazement and was only able to move when a wave of Diglett rushed by. She immediately concluded that the stalagmite the nerdy-looking guy and, soon after, the pretty girl were holding to seemed like the safest place, so she quickly joined the two.

The sight of an opening behind the wall amazed Yukari beyond belief, but not as much as the Rhyhorn sleeping inside that woke up and attacked, probably being annoyed by having been disturbed from its sleep. The girl could somehow relate though, as she was also grumpy if ever disturbed from her sleep, but that was no time to relate to anything. The situation was dangerous.

Before she could react, Yukari saw the white-haired girl bravely command her adorable Swablu to attack. The Pokémon's attack barely did a thing and Yukari took a few steps back, pulling Yume close. She was scared, but somehow entranced by the other girl's courage and determination. As the other girl seemed to realize her Swablu wouldn't be able to take the rhyhorn down by herself, she called out for the nerdy-looking boy to use "Snaps", whatever that was, thus finding out that the boy's name was Ben.

Watching the two trainers before her, Yukari suddenly felt determined and, while gently stroking Yume, she found herself commanding her Pokémon to attack and even sending Diglett out as well to help:

"Yume, use Growl on the Rhyhorn! Diglett, come and help Yume out by using Sand-Attack!"

Yume bravely stepped up and let out a sharp cry towards the Rhyhorn while the ever-confused Diglett popped out of its PokéBall and quickly started hurling sand towards the wild Pokémon.

"Well, I've done my part for now." Yukari thought then looked over at Ben, waiting for "Snaps" to be used.

"S-snaps?" He stammered, reaching for the PokéBall he had just returned the Krabby to and releasing the crab Pokémon in front of him. Snaps was a little confused at first but almost jumped out of his shell when he spotted the rather angry looking Rhyhorn and skittered behind Benjamin's feet for protection. "You g-gotta fight, Snaps!" The Krabby was extremely reluctant, but gave some kind of crab version of an eye-roll and skittered back in front of his feet. Benjamin pulled out his PokéDex, choosing a move that might be most appropriate.

"Snaps! Bubble!" The Krabby let loose an army of rather innocent looking bubbles, which burst on the distracted Rhyhorn, causing it to cry in a similar fashion that Elenore had earlier. Benjamin could almost fell her flinch on his shoulder at it's scream.

    "This is it!"

On a sheer instinctual response to the scream Anise threw throw a pokéball at the Rhyhorn and in a flash of red light the pokémon entered the ball. She grinded at her teeth as the ball rolled back and forth. Once, twice, three times... click! The ball came to a stop, and Benjamin almost did a dance.

"N-nice g-going Ms. B-Briar! And ev-everyone else too!" He gave a big thumbs up to the newcomers, not exactly sure what else to do.

Anise cheered with the final click on the ball.

"I did it!" She was so happy with the turn of events. She picked up the ball and put it inside her bag, deciding to deal with the Rhyhorn after she sorted out the current circumstances. She turned to the rest of the party.

"Thank you so much everyone! Especially you Ben and Snaps, I don't think we would have been able to get by without you two."

She gave the young man a quick hug before moving over to Yukari. Ben made a face when Anise embraced him. He wasn't too used to human contact.

"Thank you for your help too, my names Anise by the way."

Yukari smiled and silently cheered for the pretty girl, as the Pokéball stopped shaking with a click, which meant that she caught it. She watched happily as Ben, who seemed better at expressing his joy than she was, was hugged and praised for his efforts.

Suddenly, the other girl's attention was suddenly on Yukari.

"Thank you for your help too, my names Anise by the way." the other girl said which caused Yukari to blush and shyly extend her hand.

"It's very nice to meet you! I'm Yukari and this is Yume." she answered cheerfully and Yume took what seemed like a bow, as soon as she was introduced. "So..." the girl asked curiously as she looked over Anise's shoulder and into the hidden room the Rhyhorn had been in. "Do you think there's anything else left in there?"

The girl's eyes moved from Anise to Ben and then to other person that had slammed into the wall earlier and that she hadn't really paid much attention to, due to the sudden commotion.

    "Let's t-take a look then."

Benjamin stepped in past the lowered wall cautiously, inspecting the little nook for any other surprises. Thankfully, there wasn't and his eyes caught on something sparkling at the back. He quickly snapped some pictures and hurried over to check out the loot. To him, it was just an assortment of pretty stuff (which he had thankfully already seen during his time as a journalist and knew what they were). He took another picture.

"L-look." He lifted the prizes, handing them to Anise, who seemed to be the rightful heir to them. "Five Hundred Poké, a Water Stone and," he quickly inspected the bead, finding the words "Kratos" written around the edge, "a Sol of K-Kratos... I think. This, this must have been what the Rhyhorn w-was guarding!"

"So my Rhyhorn was guarding sol? Well I can't let my Rhyhorn get separated from his treasure." Anise grinned with each emphasis on her new pokemon. She plucked the Sol from Ben's hands and pocketing in her bag. "And that makes three." She peered over to the rest of the hoard. "I don't think it would be fair if I took anything else. So why don't you guys split the gold and let Whistler have the water stone? He was the main reason we could have gotten here in the first place."

Honestly, Anise would much prefer being able to the take the whole hoard for herself, but she saw no real reason to slight the group for such a small reward. Instead she took out her pokéballl with the Rhyhorn inside and released it.With a flash of red light and a fearsome growl the pokémon was released. It remained fairly calm thanks to the pacifying influence that pokéballs tend to have. She rubbed the pokémon's rocky head to show that she meant to harm to the creature.

    "Hey there buddy."

Stratos flew down and perched itself on its forehead. Now was probably be a good time to name the Rhyhorn, but Anise had a different thought in mind. She jumped onto the creature back and in an instant response the Pokémon bolted right to the exit of the cave. Surprised at the burst of energy Anise tried kicking at the Rhyhorn with little results. Quickly giving up she turned back to the group and yelled,

"Meet me at the Pokémon Center!"

With those last words Anise left the scene.

Anise gained: A Rhyhorn! A sol of Kratos! and Four Mysterious rocks! An incredible loot for the young girl.
    Anise lost: 1x pokeball.
    Current P: 450P.
