Are you ever too old to be playing pokemon games in really enjoying them but wonder if I'm too old at 40

    nah

There's so much so very wrong with today's world that it's a waste of time and energy to be worrying about something like that. Even if the world was totally ok, it's still just something like enjoying a certain video game series and not some actual problem.

It's a waste of limited mental energy to worry about something like this.

If someone tells me "I'm too old for a video game", I'd honestly prefer they don't project those insecurities onto me. Life is short and often cruel. Let people escape into a hobby they enjoy.

Not at all. I'll be 40 next year and I'm more into Pokemon now than ever. I'm also huge into cartoons, anime, comics, manga, and I own and display many collectibles of all those things. Most of my fashion sense(or lack of 😂 ) are t-shirts and hoodies with prints from all my fav shows, movies and cartoons too. I've pretty much been told my whole life that I should grow up or that I'm too old for this and too old for that. I'll never grow up, and I'll continue to like what I like without a care in the world. Don't worry too much about what others think, just enjoy what you are passionate about and be happy 😊

Nobody is too old for Pokémon as long as their brain still works.

You don't need fast reflexes, good aiming, ability to handle advanced stick/button combinations, sense of timing or spatial awareness, or any such skills that many other games do require. All you need to use for the core gameplay of a Pokémon game is a head capable of memorizing things, choosing commands, and making strategies and decisions without any time limit.

What decides who's too old to play a game is not the art style or visual themes, it's the gameplay formula and mechanics.

Doesn't matter if it's Pokemon or anything else you wanna get into. I don't really think being too old for something exists, and you're gonna be stopping yourself from doing something you want to do that'll make you happy if you think it does.
Pokemon's been going on for almost 30 years now and I don't think the people who have been enjoying it for that long are anywhere near being "too old" for it. Go for it, enjoy yourself!

Been playing Pokemon since a kid starting with Red/Blue. Usually in and out playing the games once most of the time and then waiting for the next one.
Haven't been wasting considerably more time on them since far more recently with shiny hunting and what not lol

Just play what you games you feel like playing =3

You don't know how much it made my holiday season to know I am not the oldest here or the only one here above 25.
I just turned 38 last Saturday (Nov 30) and I don't admit that lightly. I even jokingly insist with my own family that I am 24.

And no, there is no such thing as too old for Pokemon.

In general, people should be allowed to like what they enjoy, no matter what their age.

As for me personally, I find myself falling out of interest with the series as I get older. Don't know if it's the declining quality of the games, or them adding stuff like "super-powered forms" or "regional forms" that I don't enjoy, but something about the series doesn't hold my interest like it used to. So with me, it may be more of a "Pokemon used to be better before they tried to reinvent it" rather than "I'm getting too old for it."

And there's not really anything wrong with either one of those, just like there's nothing wrong with being an "older" fan. It's all about whether a person still enjoys it or not.

If I'm 34 and I'm still into Pokémon, then it's nobody else's business but mine.
Judgmental folks don't pay my bills, so their opinion on what I choose to spend my time on is irrelevant.
