Sorry to derail the topic, but I had an interesting night. We were heading to my friends car when some girls stopped us to give us some cake. Turns out one of em had their birthday, and they didn't want anymore, so they gave it to us. Then they asked us where The Pub(actual name of the place) is, and so they wouldn't get lost we went with em. Turns out they were as generous as they seemed, and we got free beers from the birthday girl, and made some friends. Still kinda happy with this awesome surprise.

Last time I read about picking up hitchhikers the guy ended up going on a magical adventure with Shrek into the world of Far Far Away.

He went full ogre, and reeked of onion. :P

It wasn't even hitchhiking, it was random strangers chatting each other up.And hormone addled 20 year olds doing the math of 3 girls and 4 guys XD

Couldn't pay me to hitchhike or pick up one... scary.

I would never pick up a hitchiker, because you may never know what they could do if you allow them into your vehicle.

That's exactly why I pick up hitch-hikers.
I like to live dangerously.

That combined with the fact that there is nothing more amusing than picking up a hitch-hiker and proceeding to steer the conversation towards the topic of murder, just to watch them become more and more uncomfortable.

I'm actually good friends with the last Hitch-hiker I picked up. She was a 17 year old student who had no idea where she was. I broke the ice by saying;

"Did you hear about that young girl that went missing? Apparently she got kidnapped whilst hitch-hiking, I can't imagine the sort of person who would prey on vulnerable young girls when they willingly get in their car. So where you headed?"

Am I a bad person?

Kitty, that is freaking hilarious... and so wrong, omg. xD Refer to my sig for my reaction.

I pick them up all the time downtown. Mostly tourists trying to get to the Parliament buildings. Nothing's gone wrong yet :D

When I lived in Carolina, our car broke down on the side of a road in a messy rainstorm. Thankfully, we got picked up by a lady in a minivan, and my mother worked for a tower named Stewart, so we got the P.O.S. towed for free.

We wouldn't have survived then without our friends and family. I can tell you that for sure.

I can't drive with my license over there in Singapore. Think "not good enough for international use".

No big loss, since the public transport is so efficient.

I do wish I can ride on the public transport in your country again Twiggy. I was having great time riding MRT or bus when I was on vacation.

When you live in Singapore, after a while you want to stay there forever. :P

Wasn't there some crazy hitchhiker who was in the news a year ago who met someone claiming to be Jesus, and axed him? Or something like that?

It's a wild, wild world out there. I don't even know whether I can trust a random stranger these days.

I can tell you one of the worst ways of making friends. Picking someone up in your car and hoping they're friendly. I'm still young, so I've got school, but I'm not exactly sure where older members make new friends, save the Internet and bars and such.

Well, I mean, you can make friends at school. I did. O.o All of my friends are from school, actually.
