Oooo really tough question, Jirachi and Celebi are really close honorable mentions for me but I'm gonna vote for Shaymin! It's land and sky forms are amazing and it was one of the only mythicals I ever actually had before Gen 6 :)
Jirachi is my personal favourite! Jirachi: Wish Maker is such a wonderful film and has made me absolutely fall in love with the Hoenn Mythical! Zeraora, Shaymin, Mew, Diancie, & Celebi are other favourites of mine!
Have to go with the og Mew best Mythical of them all, the in game myth of how to catch it adds to the status as well, I would follow up with Hoopa with the ability to summon other legends under its control, pretty bad ass
might get cancelled for this answer but the only mythicals i think are any good at all are Mew, Shaymin and Deoxys, and out of the three Mew just slightly edges out the others because it's adorable and i love the lore around it.
of the other mythicals, things like Celebi and Arceus just don't appeal to me (beta Arceus from the gen 4 leak is awesome tho) and the mythicals from newer games are way overdesigned to the point that they don't even look like Pokemon. like what even is Hoopa Unbound. why is it like that
I really only picked Celebi because I couldn't decide between it and Mew. All the smaller ones like Shaymin, Victini, and Meloetta are cool, but they don't feel quite as special as the first three major ones (Mew, Celebi, Jirachi).
i see almost no one like deoxys typically but it is so cool and one of my favs so def in my top 3 <3 diancie, deoxys, and hmmmm maybe mew? or zeraora? i love a lot of them tbh
Mine is Zarude. At first I thought it was harmless but the more I looked into it the more I started to love it.
It's based off an actually Cambridgeshire myth, the Shug Monkey. Basically, it's a cross between a monkey and a canine that said to haunt Slough Hill Lane but then had no sightings of it after WW2. Zarude captures this well, it's clearly a monkey but it also has fangs and claws like a wolf and intense eyes to make it much more monstrous. Despite its aggressive behavior, it is capable of healing as well with its signature move Jungle Healing.
I think before this my favourite probably would have been Arceus but not much of a fan of most of them but Gen 8 released one that's a clear favourite.
