You know, that is actually a rather good question. I'd personally suppose it's the end of March (31st) because it says "welcome to the March 2014 event!" on the first post, but it doesn't seem to actually say?
That should probably be clarified, yeah...

Also I figure what the heck, and shall now post

the decisive final battle (plus a thing that is based on the following gen's "you beat the league" thing that we made because we had one space left to make it even)
Final thoughts on team:
(Basically, despite the rocky start with Ilkay's training, they turned out to be pretty cool)(Ilkay mauled most things with ice punch and surf)(we'd originally planned for sandstorm/toxic/defence curl/rollout on SHUCKIE, but then we taught her return and she started murdering things)(We should've just taught Gul giga drain or something, because we only ever used synthesis to waste a turn, like... twice)(Prosepi's affector moveset/item setup was quite useful when they took effect; confusion, paralysis and flinch... except that after a while most stuff just straight up fainted in one hit)(Danhanjay's bite was basically the only attack in the team that didn't outright murder any chansey we found... but it is very nice to note that pay day x amulet coin x lv 50+ = 200+ additional money per use)(we did try to get a lucky egg)(Tri could probably have benefited from more PP on tri-attack, but oh well; the fact that we were mostly training in an area that had quagsires at day post-league made it more annoying)
(The two most annoying parts in the fight against Red was Ilkay vs blastoise and SHUCKIE vs Snorlax; Blastoise because it actually got some decent hits, snorlax simply because REST ugh. Snorlax didn't really do much, but the continual going-to-sleep was a major waste of our PP)

I managed to beat Clair with an underleveled team, hoping I could catch up later. And apparently, later is now, since the Kimono Girls battles proved to be a bit to hard for my team. I've been grinding these past couple of days in the patch of grass above the waterfall on Rt 47, and now the level range is 35 (Persian) to 39 (Azumarill). I'm gonna check if I have any Trainer rematches, and then I'll go back to the Dance Theater. I really hope I can finish the challenge until Monday; it's gonna be a long weekend {XD}

Final Crystal Update ^^

Got the rest of my Johto badges.
Cared for Evee a lot but the little bugger didn't wanna evolve until sometime during the E4 fight which was taking place at nightc.c
Was pretty much underleveled when I faced the E4 and it took me MANY Revives and Full Restores as well as a lot of frustration and patience and flipping imaginary tables until I finally beat them.
The Kanto bit was surprisingly easy and went surprisingly fast. The Gym leaders weren't much trouble as I pretty much had their specialties covered. As I beat Erika, I accidentally let Eevee evolve and, since it was STILL night time(one hour until morning T-T), it evolved into Umbreon -.- But my last save was pretty far behind and I didn't feel like resetting just for that so I just went along with Umbreon instead x.x (hope that's alright u.u)
Going up Mt. Silver was pretty fun xD And then I faced Red and , as he sent out his Pikachu that was about 40 levels above my Pokémon, I facepalmed so hard and flipped more imaginary tables as I pretty much thought in G/S/C Red's team had lower levels c.c. His Pikachu was easy to beat. Just spam Flash and Toxic, Full Restore like a maniac, Tri Attack a few times and Pikachu fainted. Venusaur went down pretty quickly as well. Red's Espeon went against my Umbreon and a combo of attract,Bite and Shadow Ball did the trick. Now, his Snorlax... oooh boy -.- I hated that thing. I just made sure to poison him and then kept poking, even tho he took like 1/4 of my team down and then I just got lucky. His Charizard was harder than I expected him to be, even against Azumarill and all that water type STAB, but eventually it went down as well. His Blastoise seemed bulkier than I emembered, the darn thing managing to 1 hit KO my Bellossom and my Electabuzz only managed to land 1 hit before fainting as well. Once again, Umbreon bravely saved the day as it used Attract and then a spam of Bite/Shadow Ball and Psychic. I love how well Attract worked in Gen 2 xDD so much infatuation *-* it's what won me the battle actually.

Team Impressions

I usually don't do this kind of stuff, because I seem to end up using similar teams all over the place so there isn't much to say about them. But this time I used a lot of Pokémon for the first time ever so I feel that they need some talking about.

Porygon2

Spoiler:

I only used Porygon because I finally had the chance to. It didn't really shine all that much at first, but once I learned how to effectively use its Conversion2, it did pretty well. And the move Flash wasn't a wasted move slot on it at all. I mean, I thought it was at first, but during the E4 and Red battles, it proved EXTREMELY useful. It saved my team a whole lot. Its Tri Attack was also fun to use as it almost always burned or froze the opponent which gave me some extra turns to revive/heal other team members most of the time. Overall, even though I didn'tuse it all that much and it fell behind a few levels at some point, Porygon2 was fun to play with and did shine when it was supposed to.

Electabuzz

Spoiler:

When Elekid popped out of the Odd Egg, I was SO EXCITED about it, because I couldn't wait to finally get to use an Electabuzz. It totally owned trainers and Gym Leaders with its elemental punches and I spent a great deal of time trying to focus on it more, having high hopes for it in the E4 battle. But it failed so hard. Will's Jynx 1 hit KO'ed it with Psychic, whenever I tried using it, everything else seemed faster and its HP would go down the drain so fast that I ended up getting REALLY frustrated with it, even tho it did alright against most any other trainer, including Blue.

Bellossom

Spoiler:

As Oddish and Gloom, it didn't really shine that much, even though its Acid did really well and turned the tides of battle a few times. I honestly ended up using it only when needed, against Pokémon usually weak to grass types. I was a bit torn when it comes to Bellossom as, I always liked the Pokémon, but never got to use it until now. Maybe if I leveled it more and gave it a better moveset without wasting a slot on Cut, things would have been better. I deffinetly want to try this one again sometimes.

Delibird

Spoiler:

I never used Delibird until now but all I have to say is : NEVER AGAIN! EVER! It sucked SO HARD! It was weak, it always fainted fast and the only times it did okish was against the Rockets at the Radio Tower. Then it started getting lame. It couldn't 1 hit a thing and it would just die in 1 hit most of the times. If I was lucky to score more than 1 hit with Delibird, it would be a reason to celebrate. I mostly ended up using it as a filler to revive/heal another Pokémon.

Azumarill

Spoiler:

I've used Azumarill before and I can't really say it failed me or anything. Its bulk helped me against some hard-hitting opponents, his STAB was alright, with it pretty much soloing Blaine's Gym without any healing needed. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that I slowly hadto turn it into a HM-slave kind of thing, with it only having HM moves as part of its moveset in the end. But overall, it STILL did a lot better than some other teammates, despite not having a slightly better moveset (yes, I'm looking at you, Delibird! :V)

Umbreon

Spoiler:

Never in my life has evolving an Eevee take me so damn long, only for it to accidentally evolve into the opposite Eeveelution than the one I was supposed to get (because fast forward derp c.c). But overall, it did amazingly well, even against the Elite Four, when it was still an Eevee. Attract worked like a charm on the little fellow and Swift was pretty awesome too, with Shadow Ball and Bite doing a pretty good job too. So yeah, despite being a bit slow in finally wanting to evolve, even after all the pampering and stuff, I've never been more proud of an Eevee in my life. Neither did I use one as an Eevee for so long in a game before. But things got even more amazing after it accidentally evolved into Umbreon. With Psychic added to its movesets, it became a beast.It battled three of Red's Pokémon and was the last Pokémon standing in that battle. It took Espeon down so gracefully with its Attract and Bite and Shadow Ball combo. I don't think I ever used an Umbreon before, but I loved it and I'd do it again! Umbreon (well, as Eevee for like 3/4of the game) was the star of the team in the end.

Arrived at the Pokemon League Reception Gate and went through Victory Road and defeated my rival
Trained my Dodrio to be on par with my team's level
Got my team around level 40 and faced the Elite 4
Fought Will and easily won thanks to Jynx
Defeated Koga easily thanks to Flareon surprisingly

I'm sorry to say I'm dropping out of the challenge. I am over 10 levels under the weakest trainer in Drayden's Gym and just don't think I can beat the game by tomorrow and keep my sanity. This challenge was a bad idea to participate in on my part and next time I won't join an event so late. It cut into most of my Spring Break and I would like to enjoy my last 2 days off playing some other games. Sorry, Syd.

SoulSilver update: I have all 16 badges and I'm ready to face Red -- really underleved; my highest is my Azumarill at lv 55, and the rest are a bit above 50. I guess I'll battle whatever trainer I can, learn whatever moves that are super-effective against Red's team and pack as many healing items as I can. And then maybe I'll stand a chance. Reading here that people have beaten him with an underleveled team gives me hope, but maybe gen 2 Red was easier? I'm gonna be doing it tomorrow though, 'cause I've had way too many hours of Pokemon today; I assume we'll have the entire day to update on the 31st, I hope?

As far as my team goes, I have finally evolved my Togekiss and Bellossom (I'm going with Giga Drain for her healing move), and the rest are Typhlosion, Magneton, Azumarill and Persian.
