Tons and tons of characters throughout all media, but out of all of them, are there any you strongly relate too?
I can only think of 2 that I really relate to. Bocchi because I have social anxiety and Bocchi pretty much captures what it's like exactly lol. And Pit for a multitude of reasons, his personality is kinda identical to mine, minus me actually knowing how to read of course lol.
I've said this in other threads, but the one I instantly think of is Starscream from Transformers Armada. It certainly helped that I didn't exactly grow up with the series, but instead got into it around the lowest point in my life during my early to mid teens. His character helped me get through a lot of hard times from the way he did. (in the show lol, I know it's fiction)
Several, actually. I think i am very similar to Bocchi as well, but also Ryo. I sense quite an affinity with Rei from Eva.
I am sure i forgot someone lol
Since you all know about me and interests, hence making this reply was harder! Since this thread is visible and new, hence I thought to find something so that I can make a reply here. Therefore, in order to make this happen, I recalled all the cartoons which I had watched so far in my life, and chose characters from there.
It is very hard for me to "strongly" relate how I am to single or multiple characters. Hence I had chosen those characters with whom I can loosely associated with. And as we had studied in chemistry, that a triple bond is stronger than a single bond, even though each bonds in triple bond are short. So I guess multiple loose bonds can make acceptable amount of association of my personality with few characters !!
So the cartoons which I chose are:
Pokemon
Naruto(the early one, when they all were kids)
Beyblade
So here is my loose generalization :
Spoiler:
Spoiler: Part 1
Beyblade:
Shu Kurenai
He is character from Beyblade Burst, if I remember correctly. The reason why I chose him are :
Doesn't talks much, and whenever talks then all the conversations are formal and to the point.
Not interested in making many friends.
Helpful if someone asks for help.
Self-confident.
Spoiler: Part 2
Naruto(Kiddo era):
Sasuke
He is probably famous character which many people know, and for following reason I chose him in this reply:
Not interested in making many friends.
Likes to stay alone, mostly.
Don't expect himself to lose, and neither wants to lose.
Aggressive kind of person, and fiercely competitive.
Looks closely into his opponents like silent predator.
Don't trusts other easily.
Spoiler: Part 3
Same as previous !!
Naruto
This was expected, considering how things went on with me in recent times !!
Never give up attitude.
Strong belief on his ideas.
Volatile when having fun.
Highly optimistic about what he wants to achieve, and never deviating from it.
Had got the tag of loser, due to certain exams, just like me, despite having the skills.
Tends to trust others if someone is good with him(although nowadays I am very careful before placing my trust on others)
Spoiler: Part 4
Ash Ketchum
The only famous character whom I had seen the most on TV, hence want to consider him:
I want to be very best, like no one ever was....
Every challenge along the way, With courage I will face; I will battle every day to claim my rightful place.
Likes Pokemon Battles, and catches few Pokemon and make them stronger, as in my case, who doesn't grind to fill Pokedex pages and shiny hunt.
Has fixed set of approach but with out of the box application.
Always tends to lose the matches in business end of tournament, as happened with me in last couple years, where I felled from grace despite being topper.
Again, keen observation about the opponents.
And if you look into the details inside the spoiler, then you can find that there are lots of overlapping, and those overlapping can be considered a part of me.
Mega Rayquaza is there, just because of the term "Delta". And I purely chose it because I like Mega Black Rayquaza since black being my favorite, and Delta because my real name also starts with D, hence chose it. Zacian-Crowned because I make my offensive presence feel whenever I play any sports, and that is reflected in my style of play.
I relate to Dimitri from Fire Emblem, which is why he's my favorite character.
I understand his personal struggles, especially when it comes to trying to do better after past actions. I find his story and resilience inspiring.
Oh gosh... I have so many I relate to! One of them would have to be Lilo from Lilo & Stitch. The reason is because she is basically me when I was a kid. I didn't know I was autistic at the time, so I always really struggled with socializing and understanding it. I got bullied a lot for being different as a kid etc etc. There's so many others I relate to that I can't name off the top of my head. XD
It's a hard question, because usually a big appeal of watching an anime for me is a character who appeals to me or who I think I can relate to. A more accurate answer for me might be to say there's at least one character in almost anything I've watched in the past several years I could relate to on some level. I often mention the same names but I identify using Setsuna Yuki's name here on PC, so I guess she's the specific character I'd pick. I haven't really talked about her specifically here in who knows how long.
The most appealing thing about Setsuna is her passion. Her idea of shouting your love for the things you enjoy and are passionate about resonates with me a lot, as I'm someone who was bullied for what I enjoyed and was interested in growing up, and it felt really heartwarming to see a character who inspired me to not be ashamed about what I enjoy. I think that as she inspired me to become more outgoing and expressive about who I am as a person and what I enjoy, I find myself relating to her more and more, and can identify with her. Setsuna has taught me that it's worth it to put yourself out there, identify yourself by who you really are and what you really love instead of hiding it all to fit in, and that you should speak up for yourself and what you believe in. Without both being inspired by and relating to Setsuna Yuki, I'd be a much more boring person who'd keep everything special about me buried inside and not have the passion, interest, or courage to share anything with the world and show them who I am. So she's incredibly important to me, enough to use her name here and to forever feel like it just... suits me.
I can relate to Light from Death Note, obviously not the whole "murdering hundreds of thousands of people with a magical notebook" part; and I'm way more insecure then he was. But I've pretty much always gotten really good grades and been presumed as someone who will become successful, as well as generally having a reserved demeanor similar to his. My father was also in the military like how Light's was in the police force, and I have a younger sister with roughly the same age gap; so I can also heavily relate to that family dynamic/situation.
