Nah rather the supporters who feel like stepping up and leading the forum should just do so without bold names :3 I don't think I've ever seen a report made in the VIP area haha

It's kinda funny when you consider the majority of staff right now have supporter status underneath their bold names. There's currently 45 staff all in total, and only 9 of those aren't supporters.

And speaking of supporters, the highest dominating supporter tier among the current staff list is Crystal, with 21 staff members represented in that supporter tier. The second biggest tier present is a tie between Platinum and Gold, with 6 staff members each, while Silver has the least with just 4.

Crystal is like big, really big. That explains why most of the supporter names you see floating around are blue, maybe this is because lots of people seemed to want the really good stuff that tier gets or something.

Wow Hikari, did you just check up on all that now or have you, like, memorized.

I guess it's because I remember the time under the old system when supporters all had userbars displayed in the postbit/profile and staff also had those mini tags with the supporter tier number on it. But yeah some interesting information there.

I once jokingly thought being a supporter increased your chances of becoming a staff member, but nope it was just coincidental that most staff members donated long before they got promoted. Although I recall one who wasn't a supporter at the time of their promotion only for someone to eventually donate to them afterwards.

There's no supporter userbars anymore? I have them turned off by default so I wouldn't know :B

Definitely didn't remember them until now. XD Probably did a lot for distinguishing between mods and supporters.

Well, supporters did have userbars... but then the system changed and as a result there aren't any new supporter userbars yet. They just need to make new ones to go with the new Silver/Gold/Crystal/Platinum tier system that's now in place, so for the time being the supporters have text under their name.

It does feel inconsistent though, but I'm sure those admins are working hard on the new supporter userbars. It'd be kinda interesting if they had Lugia (Silver), Ho-Oh (Gold), Suicune (Crystal) and Giratina (Platinum) on them since they were the version mascots of the Pokemon games of the corresponding color.

We're talking about moderatorness? k I will relive my story deal with it puppies c: I don't care if I'm late it's on the same page so it's okay!!!

Moderating Black and White was literally the best thing ever. I modded it from speculation period right up to when the next generation was announced even. That was the cool thing, like, from its inception pretty much until when it became Fifth Generation it was something that I could help mould into a fun place. And I did make it stand out from every other generation before and after. Not by myself ofc, but with the help of Kaori. We argued a lot, we disagreed a lot, but despite that, we had the best interests for the forum at heart, and we really loved it. Even now we're sad about how the forum is different and how our best FAQ ever isn't stickied anymore. Going through the journey with Kaori was great, and we were literally the best team. It made sense why we argued though because like, we both wanted to make the forum the best and we each wanted to be the one to make it even BETTER. We even did things like roleplay as Isshu and pretend that Isshu was sad or happy! It was so much fun, and despite everything that happened, I wouldn't have gone through the journey with anyone else. For me even though it was just a forum on a Pokemon forum, it was so much more, because it was something we made into the coolest place ever. We made people happy, we did unique events, many more emblems than other Pokemon gaming forums at the time, and we had the most creative ideas ever. Plus we had so much fun speculating and deciding on what to host. It truly was an amazing time.

Nowadays (it's relevant k), I'm a moderator on Smogon, and it's different than here. Both my forums have completely different roles. One is designing, implementing, bringing forth programs to represent new members, and help bring them into the community, while the other is a pretty much bi-monthly online magazine. Neither are the same as B/W, but they're both special in a way. The former is being able to help out new people, help people get over their fears (it's different to NU/W here because it's more of a program, like the Adoption Center but to an advanced extent) of the community. While the latter... it's so different to moderating Black and White was. It was like, report, see if appropriate, if not then lock or merge or move. On Smogon it's different because I'm part of those in charge of approving articles for the magazine, reminding people of deadlines, deciding deadlines, bumping things, it's just so different. That's the cool thing though, different experiences. And I've certainly had those. Also no I'm not advertising Smogon, I'm just discussing.

The final thing I'll mention is servers. When I was a moderator on our PO server I was so excited (albeit unnecessary at the time since we didn't really need moderators exactly) because it was live moderation. Live decision making, live communicating with the community that I found cool for so long. It was awesome. When we moved to PS, I was surprised that I became a co-leader with Wolf, and helping lead the server for almost two years (September!) is a completely different experience too. Appointing all these amazing staff, deciding rules, important decisions, and so on, it's always something fun there. It's a pretty amazing server to be part of. On the other side, when I was a moderator on the main showdown server, it was completely different. It was like instant 5 mod actions at once, people were crazy. Deciding what was okay or not, helping people out, trying to talk in the chat and modchatting when a spammer came on... that was all happening at once, and all happened within a few minutes, constantly. It was fast paced but I loved it a lot. I'd like to go back as staff there one day but... it'll be a long while before that happens.

To conclude, moderating is cool. C:

I was always curious as to why Crystal attracts more new supporters than any other tier. And with the new system its perks are even more enticing than they have been previously, such as the customizable usertitles.

And Nica that is such an amazing story from you there, I surely remember the days when I was a very active poster in Black & White ever since I started playing the games for the first time. Those Weekly Polls and all the other events you held there meant you knew how to make a Pokemon gaming section stand out.

Moderating Smogon is easily the easiest thing I've moderated out of everything I listed lmao :x

Still hard to believe :)

That's easy, Crystal doesn't require lots of money support to get it. Platinum requires 4 times Crystal (correct me if I'm wrong), even if it requires less, it's harder for most people to afford that :)

Hahaha now I see. But it's kinda ironic I ended up in this tier and I'm someone who's in a family so tight-budgeted that I'm pretty much banned from donating to anything (my mother is like extremely strict). The reason how I made it here was all because of a Get-Together event a few years back where someone gave me their supporter prize because they were already a supporter at the time.

I was originally in what is now part of the Gold tier, but then I got bumped up by a $5 gift donation weeks afterwards. When I joined PC I thought I'd never become a supporter (I used to be jealous of their profile perks lol) let alone one of the higher tiers, but now that it has happened it changed my views on the forum forever. And that's all due to the discovery of the VIP Forum which I never would have imagined it to be what it turned out to be for me.

I must say, same thing happened to me. I never thought I'd become supporter too, simply because I couldn't afford it and didn't have bank account etc. When I started working, earning money, I haven't had time and I didn't feel like posting at this time back then. Then last year April happened, and it was rather spontaneous from me I must say. I decided to do that gradually, at first tier 4, then shortly later tier 5 and so on, then I finally reached over 100$ and saw tier 6 under my nickname. T'was a pretty nice feeling.

I don't think I want to jump to Platinum. I'm happy with where I am, and Crystal obviously has the better username color, at least to me.

Fair enough. To be honest Tier 6 doesn't give any more special bonuses, mostly it's all about different nickname color and bigger pm box. In my case that pm box will never be full :)

Although they still do get extra stuff with their usertitles, while Crystals/Tier 5 can only do the bold/underline/italic/color/font functions. And even though I finally started enabling PMs again after leaving them disabled for 2 years due to constant annoying from people asking me to help with their ROM hacks (I have zero knowledge in those, hence why I'm non-existent in the ROM Hacking boards) I still rarely use the feature.

I stick to VMs most of the time, since I can respond to those faster.

I honestly don't know how to do that sparkly or animation things in usertitles (CSS if I'm not wrong), so I stick with regular bold and underline.

If it comes to PM's, I don't have that problem. People mostly ask me about friend code or where is my avatar/signature from :)

When I first donated, the VIP forums where fairly dead. There wasn't much going on in this section. I am glad to see that activity is way up.
