Can't wait to watch the news reveal !

They are taking a break now it seems.
Yeah, seems they want to keep to their schedule for the news. Maybe they'll show the remaining 4 or 5 (if Juan appears, and assuming Wallace is also a gym leader) gym leaders, and the remaining 2 E4 along with new Megas, and Rayquaza's role/Mega/Primal.''

Mega Rayquaza is what they're talking about it sounds like!

You'll notice a strong gale when Mega Rayquaza comes out /Megas, perhaps my idea of it having a flying type weather ability has come true :3?

Edit: btw the new move is called 'Dragon Ascent', while the new ability is called 'Delta Stream'. At least there's acknowledgement of Rayquaza as the Delta to Groudon's Omega, and Kyogre's Alpha.

The official site mentions "The Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza is said to achieve Mega Evolution in a unique way—unlike that of other Pokémon—due to its unique biology." I assume this has to do with it being made out of ozone particles. Perhaps even it's age.

I had a feeling it was going to be a Mega rather than a Primal (even though I wanted it to be one) seeing how unlike the other two (and I think I brought this up once) Rayquaza didn't seek the natural energy that Groudon and Kyogre did.

The official site also mentions this: "Delta Stream is an Ability that only Mega Rayquaza possesses: it fills the air with mysterious strong winds that affect the weather. These strong winds cannot be dispelled by changing the weather condition, except by a very limited number of Pokémon." I wonder what that limited number is...maybe those who possess Cloud Nine?

Ability : Delta stream

Attack : Dragon Ascent

My golly that design is really over-the-top but it was a Mega we all saw coming. That Delta Stream ability looks to be overpowered stuff, but I think I should inform the battling community soon and see what they think. Dragon Ascent seems like a very "uber" attack if you ask me.

So Just Mega Rayquaza ???
Its not really surprising since we all knew its coming.
Seriously Game Freak , if ya talk about revealing something Surprising then make sure it really does Surprise us.

am i the only one actually excited for Mega Rayquaza? i mean, just imagine how awesome it'll look shiny...
i'm surprised (and maybe even slightly disappointed) it's not a Primal though, but at least this way we'll get to use it in battle ourselves for sure. and holy fudge does Dragon Ascent look incredible!

... also, i didn't know a stream was going on? is there anywhere i can watch it in full afterwards? ( ´ ▽ ` )ゞ

Little surprised it's not Primal, but it looks so cool! Can't wait to find out exactly what Delta Stream does
It does: "Its Ability is named Delta Stream - "Powerful moves like Rain Dance, Sunny Day, Sandstorm, and Hail will fail in the face of strong winds whipped up by Mega Rayquaza, while Abilities like Drizzle, Drought, Sand Stream, and Snow Warning will not even activate. In addition, moves of a type to which Flying-type Pokemon are usually susceptible will only deal normal damage." (source: Pokebeach).

Let's see Primal Groudon ability turns it's 4x weakness to water into a immunity, Mega Rayquaza's turns it's 4x weakness to ice into a 2x weakness (or maybe 1x if it doesn't care about secondary typings...), while Primal Kyogre's ability weakens it's 1/2x resistance and turns it into an immunity...sounds like Kyogre got the short end of the stick here.''

Uh, I heard Dragon Ascent is actually a FLYING type move, not actually a dragon type move despite it's name...but it's what I wanted, a strong flying type move for it :3

The ability's effect nerfs Ice, Electric and Rock moves so if we have something that's normally 2x weak to those types, it'll become just neutral damage when Mega Rayquaza is active. I think that if the Pokemon in question has a 4x weakness to either of the three it'll get nerfed to a 2x weakness.

And just to point out your error, Groudon's Water immunity becomes a 4x weakness.

I know, just pointing out their major weaknesses. But yeah, Rayquaza's ability will give it a 1x weakness to Rock now (now Electric may be 1/2x).

Uh...Primal Groudon without it's ability will be 4x weak, but it's ability evaporates water moves, hence it give it an immunity to water, not the other way around...

Is there going to be anymore News ???

Mega Rayqauza looks amazing, and the ability is going to be so useful competitively against weather-based teams. Btw, this is my new favorite mega.

Interesting story.

Spoiler:

Perhaps we will see some elements of the Emerald storyline after all.
