6th Gen Confirmed Information Discussion

I apparently saw in a gif image on Tumblr that Sootopolis likely keeps its ice tile puzzle but the scenery looks very different this time around. That was one of my least fave gym puzzles ever so yeah kinda disappointed.

At least I'm happy with how everything else looks at this stage, especially how much bigger Mt. Pyre looks now.
Yeah, it was one of the most difficult.
I love the scene/view change around the Space Center.

Yeah the camera angle changes in this game are just phenomenal. The huge zoom out when you're on Mt. Pyre has to be an awesome one, and Pacifidlog Town looks even more beautiful on the water now.

And apparently someone on Tumblr pointed out in a screenshot of Route 120 (which showed the small bush for Secret Bases near very tall grass and a pond) that the berries are on small bushes again like the original games. In fact I recall making a secret base in that area so it does bring back memories.

The game according to Serebii is bigger than 1.8 GB which is 100 MB bigger than XY. Kalos had a very big region, but Hoenn is smaller (as we can see from the video's and screen shots). Sure there are more Megas and the return of features not in XY, but it makes you wonder what else that 1.8 GB is of.

I have a gut feeling that Game Freak have been putting a lot of work into these remakes. Not only by keeping many key features of the original games but also adding the new mechanics that were never present before so that they can make Hoenn relevant again.

It's the whole point of remakes. Taking the key features and scenery of the originals and give it a fresh coat of paint.

There's that, but even all that doesn't quite explain the huge size of the games.

Well you got the whole contest stuff that is not in XY same with Secret Bases. Maybe we get more post-game too.

Hope we get more post-game, maybe going to a faraway place like the Sevii Islands, but that's speculation.

That sort of explains it, but I wonder if that means Emerald's Battle Frontier might get carried over as well? I know that with HG/SS they carried over Crystal's Battle Tower but instead made it the same Battle Frontier from Platinum.

Aside from what's been mentioned, I also saw a Level 23 Grovyle using Leaf Blade against Brawly's Makuhita. I'd imagine most Pokémon will keep their level-up lineups from B2W2/XY, but this is a sign some will likely be changed and have darn strong moves to use early on. Now to just hope Move Tutors are present.

Kyogre still has that hideous cry tho ):

I think this part of the trailer is Winona's Gym -Pic Attached

That is not Wionna's gym. It's more like Wallace's gym since the floor is thin ice and the waterfall is in the background.

Wionna's gym has turnstiles.

it could be her gym considering the new fortree city redesign also has a rainforest theme and they could have changed the puzzle

Wow I didn't even know Grovyle learned it that early. But with the changes in level-up movesets as of late I'm happy with this. Like how B2/W2 made Azumarill learn good physical moves like Aqua Tail at earlier levels now, and even Leafeon iirc had a similar update so it could get its best move Leaf Blade earlier too.

And yeah they keep the annoying 6th Gen cries... but oddly enough I haven't heard Kyogre's new "inferior" cry yet so maybe when I play Alpha Sapphire I should try and listen for it.

That looks more like Wallace's Gym (I'm assuming Wallace because Steven is the Champion) because it had a puzzle involving stepping on all the ice tiles only once. The trees in the background do make it look even more interesting though.

I'm pretty sure that ice gym we saw is Wallace's gym. Seems his (or Juan's if he's the gym leader) is the closest to the original out of the ones we've seen. Btw this means that the gym with the strands of light is likely Mossdeeps' gym after all.

After watching the trailer, there was one particular scene I was curious about and it was this one with the Pikachu's tail sticking out of the grass:

I looked up maps of every single land-based route in Hoenn and I don't think any matched up with them plus the only routes in Hoenn with the really tall grass (which is shown in the top of the gif here) are Routes 119 and 120, and I know that no routes in Hoenn had both really tall grass and normal grass together. Maybe this could mean there's a new postgame location that we never knew about until now.

I thinks someone mentioned it earlier or perhaps in a different thread but it could be a location within the safari zone with certain Pokemon appearing out of the grass nibbling on the PokeBlocks. But i hope it is a new post game route as XY had none. I doubt we'll revisit the Sevii islands but perhaps all those islands in the sea will finally be accessible and it could be a route there.
