    How would you feel about playing a main series Pokemon on a console that wasn't a handheld, aka the Wii U? Do you think that Nintendo should bring main series Pokemon games to other consoles, or stick with the 3DS line? Since they're only going to stick with Nintendo consoles that limits our options, but completely hypothetically if you could bring a main series Pokemon game to any other console what would it be?

    Personally I would love one to see Pokemon make an appearance on a powerful console such as the Xbox One or PS4, I think that this power would offer amazing possibilities for the pokemon games and would surely bring new multiplayer elements to the game such as coop etc.

    But from a marketing point of view Nintendo would have to bring the Pokemon games to the Wii U, as you know the sales of their next gen console have been poor and there is almost no stand out games. However, releasing a Pokemon game on this console would surely bump up sales, as many of us purchased a 3DS to get Pokemon X (there are tons of good games for the 3DS as well but X and Y probably persuaded us to purchase one) and I think a Pokemon game on the Wii U would have the same effect.

    Personally, I'd either want the main games to stick to being handheld only, or that there be versions for both the home consoles and handhelds (like SSB4). In terms of the former, I can see the main Pokemon games being moved to the home consoles in order for Nintendo to sell more of them, but I'd dislike it because home consoles are expensive and I can't afford them until many years later. Though, I also feel like if the main Pokemon games transitioned to home consoles, they'd stay on there and not return to the handhelds; thus, Nintendo may lose money on the handhelds. The latter seems more plausible: there could be many different features exclusive to the home console game and to its handheld counterpart (for example, alternate storylines or places to visit) that make it worth getting both. It'd also be good for those who only have a home console or handheld, as they wouldn't need to buy the other if they don't want to. As for having the Pokemon games on other consoles, I can see them being available on Sony's consoles, but not on Microsoft's. (Well, actually, I could see there being PC Pokemon games; there have been Pokemon games for computers in the past, so it's always possible.)

    I'd play pokemon on an Xbone. Why? Because I've beaten everything else I have for it, until Destiny comes out in 4 weeks, I have no games I want to play indefinitely on it ;-; I sit in parties with friends and play pokemon, or Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare. Oh, or Guacamelee. But that's not gonna hold me over forever.

    I always have my home-consoles plugged into large television screens, not small ones. If I were to play some handheld Pokémon game on something as big, its graphics would surely not be as much of a good quality, which I know I won't be too fond of, sadly (I've played Pokémon games on TVs before by connecting my hacked PSP, but didn't quite like the experience), even though it would be extremely cool.

    Nonetheless, if I were to play main series games on any non-Nintendo console, it's going to be my Xbox 360. There are a couple of reasons for it, with first and foremost being its controller--it's very easy to use, and comfortable to hold. Second, I'm generally used to it.

    I would prefer that the main-series games stay on handhelds, though I would still play them if they were on consoles. Handhelds are just so much more practical for me (plus, I haven't bothered to buy a Wii U yet because the game selection seems kind of limited and I don't have a TV at school). I may get a TV soon, which would make consoles easier (i.e., I wouldn't have to wait till I saw my parents to play them, which is my current setup), but it's still not as convenient to play that way. I also like playing Pokemon before I fall asleep at night, and that wouldn't work as well with a console because I don't plan on having a TV right in front of my bed.

    That being said, I wold like a Colosseum/XD-like game for a console. I really enjoyed those, and I want another adventure of that sort. I just don't want the main games to be moved to a console at the expense of their handheld presence.

    I'd prefer if they stuck to handhelds, because it'd be hard for me to get a hold of the newer consoles such as the WiiU. I like how the Pokemon games are capable of being portable, as it, in my thoughts, gives me a feeling of going on an adventure with my Pokemon if I step outside with my DS in hand, and having them on a home console would ruin that feeling I get.

    Pokémon = Pocket Monsters. Monsters which you can carry in a pocket. With handhelds you simulate the feeling of walking around with Poké Balls. Being in a handheld is the core of the series.

    Usually the consoles had only battle simulators, but considering the 3DS is capable of great graphics (although it's a little on the slow side), there's no more reason for console Pokémon games.

    Most people are coming down on the handhelds...I'd personally like an extra main series game in a generation VIII on Xbox One / 360 / PS4. I think if it was done right it could be incredibly good visually, although the effort that would have to go into making battle animations look good (we can't settle for how the games have flamethrower coming out from behind a pokémon's head depending on how the sprite is settled on the screne) would make that a bit unfeasible.

    But back to handhelds...iOS? Nintendo are quite similar to Apple in that their main selling points are exclusivity on brands such as Mario and Pokémon. The fact that all iPhones have pretty powerful graphics...it'd be a step back from 3DS, but not much perhaps? It'd also boost iPhone charger sales as everyone would run down their battery so fast they'd need them everywhere, so Apple would be up for it :P

    I'd like them to start a separate series on Nintendo's home consoles with a more action orientated battling style while still making the main series on the handhelds with the traditional style. But that's a perfect world wish, so it will never happen.

    That's so weird haha my brother walked in when I was playing Pokémon yesterday and he was musing about the possibility of it being played on a larger console which got me thinking about it :)

    In all honesty I'd prefer the series to remain on handheld systems; while I enjoyed the likes of Pokémon Stadium I wasn't as fond of Pokémon Colosseum which is more along the lines of the handheld games anyway in that it's more adventure based. And after having seen what they can do with X/Y, I'm honestly excited to see how far Pokémon can go on the handheld systems :)

    A refurbished Wii U costs less than 20 dollars more than a 3DS. o_o;

    They can't just port the games to the console; it would have to be a complete overhaul. Just doing what they have except bigger wouldn't really work, mayyyybe they could extend the edges of the map that you can see but the towns are designed specifically for the viewport already there so they'd have to design towns and routes around the new viewport.

    I don't think the way the games are made now could be sent to the console.

    I agree with this, Pokémon was more meant for the portable consoles than it was home stuff. It'd be a lot more work for them to make, Colosseum and XD were nice but it's not something the series could really make a jump to so much as those were a side thing. Admittedly, some of the towns that have been designed in 3D would look pretty good in HD, though.

    Nah. The main series has always been a handheld game. I'd feel sad if I couldn't carry my pokemon with me, and open it up when I'm bored. Also I do not feel that the main pokemon games wouldn't need to take advantage of the extra hardware. They're great without it.

    I can't see them moving the main series onto a different console or something like that anytime soon. Since Gen I, Pokémon has been on a handheld console, well at least the main series. I'm sticking to that they'll keep it on their handheld systems.

    As far as I know, there was a reason why the main series was made for handhelds. Basically you can take your handheld everywhere you want and meet other people who have the same game and interact with them (battling, trading). While the internet kinda makes it easier to interact with others...well ever played with your Wii U while riding on a train?

    Also I don't have a Wii U and I don't intend to buy one, so please no main series game on a home console! {XD}

    I'm on the same boat as everyone else here; handheld is their comfort-zone when it comes to main-series Pokémon games, and they're always getting great results every time something new is released. I don't see them moving out of it any time soon. They might release games for home-consoles that would relate to main-series, but for now, I believe this is as far as they'd go.

    They need to build on The Pokemon Stadium as a series and I find it hard to believe they haven't yet.

    I am no fan of the NES systems these days as I feel they are far too "robotic" and I don't think really work as any sort of a threat to Microsoft nor Sony and because of Nintendo having all these different alternative consoles such as hand-helds it really rubs the salt into the wounds in terms of a positive outcome of sales for the Wii-U.

    I just wonder how many consumers own both a Wii-U and a version of the Ds? I wouldn't suspect many they would go for a rival brand for variety to get best value for money.

    There is far more differences between Sony's version of a handheld and the entirety of the main Ps3/Ps4 systems then they are with Nintendo's two consoles.

    I think the smartphones these days are massively affecting hand held sales due to highly addictive apps that will work as a strong substitute.
