Give me your job Live. :(

I have a nice job now but it doesn't pay much and ends when school does.

We aren't allowed to work here anyways lol. Even part time jobs, iirc. It's against the law for anybody under 18 to work.

I'm planning on applying for a job that I'm somewhat certain I'll get. I have experience working at CVS, and the stores are enough alike to really set me apart from most of the other candidates that would probably apply there. But it's a part time job, and with my experience with part time jobs, relying on getting hours isn't very good for you, so in order to keep myself busy, I'm going to be volunteering at the library and Habitat for Humanity. Admittedly, I'm really only doing that to make references and pad my resume for the future. I think I'll change my intents after a while of volunteer work, though. Those are the only places I know around here that accepts volunteer service, but I'm sure there's plenty more. I'll probably look around for an additional part time job as well.

Once that happens, I'll be happy and busy until I can go back to school and get an on-campus job.

Good luck with that, Nick! I hate having to apply formally for stuff like that lol. Uni was annoying enough so I'd hate to have to do it for a job too. Shame that's exactly what I'm gonna have to do when I get to said uni, haha.

I've got a job working in a guitar shop whenever I'm not busy with school. It's so flexible I can just come and go as I want more or less, haha. And I ref football matches sometimes too but I've been doing that less lately. School and health's been busy taking everything over lol.

Nah seriously I got so lucky lol. I've been playing for... nearly 11 years now? And always being going to that shop regularly, so the staff there already know me fairly well and get that, at the time of applying, I was just a 16 year old with no money looking for a job between school hours. It's a pretty big shop but not some huge chain or anything so it was easy for them to be relaxed about when I come and go I guess, haha.

Man, I wish I had that kind of luck. :(
All the employees at the Gamestop up the street know me well, but every time I applied they never hired me. Figured they would have hired me since I wasn't just some stranger looking for a job, rather a regular customer.

Also, that's cool you've been playing guitar that long. :O

Never work at a GameStop. I've lived and learned from game developers and spoke to many people that worked at GS, and both groups agree that working at a game store can be awful.

Anyway, I understand why people would interview you. I wouldn't interview you so much for an answer as much as to analyze you clearly and decide who's a better worker. Because resumes lie. A lot.

The same exact thing happened to me. I tried applying several times at Gamestop and was never called for an interview or anything, and I go there all the time to buy games.

I could take up a job...but that would screw up my study habits even more. :(

*Sigh*

I think the same could be said about my study habits. Though not having a job also screws up my study habits.
Either way, my study habits are suffering. :|

But yeah, jobs are exhausting. Back when I worked at a pharmacy it would exhaust and depress the hell out of me, despite being a fun job where I got to meet loads of people.
Once you get out it feels like there's not enough time left to do the things you need/want to do and relax at the same time.

The only jobs I ever held were through the university... if you don't like being awoken at any and all hours of the night and/or dealing with rampant stupidity and drunkenness, do NOT become a Resident Assistant. Such things are all part of the job description, and oh the stories I could tell if they wouldn't get me infracted.

Yes, those crazy freshman guys do some pretty sketchy things, and my fellow RAs and I always had to clean up the mess.

Current job situation: Lots of job rejections, only one interview since the new year and that ended up being a sales/commission job I ended up not wanting anyway.

Resident Assistant sounds awful.
I don't understand why some people go to college and just completely devolve from human into ape. I get the whole "freedom" thing, but does that mean you need to.... well... stuff all over the place?

Personally I hate hearing crazy college stories. It makes me worry about whether or not my ex-girlfriend is OK. I'm sure she's sick of me checking in on her. x[

Oh hey alright I slept in and missed my doctors appointment. That's neat.

My job told me today that if I kept working over the summer on making a mobile app for them that they'd still pay me. :))) That's nice! Plus I have a few options that I'm working on as a real summer job, and my boyfriend is going to visit me at home right after school ends, life is goooooood.

I'm still trying to find a job. Maybe I'd have better success working during the summer when I'd be free the entire week.

I've had no success trying to find a job when I can only work a possible 4 days a week.

No, Live. Do not direct the DCC back into weather talk. Bad Live.

IT GOT COLD AGAIN WHY GOD WHY

Where in the world are you? :P
Every time you post something weather related, it's usually what the weather's like here.

As for a summer job, i'm taking care of yards. GETTIN BUFF, GETTIN TAN. Jersey shore maaaaan.
Everything I just said was a mistake.

IT'S COLD HERE TOO. It was like high 20s last week and today it was -5. ;___;[/could not resist commenting on weather]

I would love to work at a toy shop for discounts but I don't think I could deal with the inevitable children who'd be in there all the time. xD;
