I have good self restraint because of past experiences. When I was much younger there where instances where I would yell or act out in public places just because I wanted attention or because of the fact that I had little to no self control. In the end, it became so embarrassing because my friends would laugh at me so naturally I stopped. I developed good self control over time and now I can pretty much hold back on anything.

Self restraint isn't a bad thing at all, unless you're craving for attention or something.

Speaking of self restraint, I'm holding out on wasting money on Pokemon cards because I recently really want to collect them for no reason whatsoever.

I used to collect Pokemon cards, but as of late I have no interest at all. The games are enough for me I guess.

Same here, but recently i heard of my fave game also releasing trading cards... there goes all my money again... -_-

I never really collected the cards. I was never allowed to in the first place, so that's probably why. I never really understood how to play it in the first place.

Oh god, don't talk to me about Pokemon cards.
I have a ton of them, including some first release versions of some of them, but I didn't take good enough care of them, so a good portion are in really rough shape. ;-;

As for the self-restraint topic, believe it or not I'm pretty strong in that field.

It's odd. My interest for Pokemon cards seemingly started to creep in starting early January this year but recently it feels like someone's brainwashing me into thinking collecting Pokemon cards is the best thing ever or something stupid like that. Maybe it's because I got lots money to burn unlike in 6th grade when I actually played with them I had to beg my mom to get booster packs once a month.

I gave away all my Pokemon cards to a friend who really wanted to collect them, but looking back on it now it was a retarded decision on my part.

I've never really expressed an interest into the Pokémon TCG at all, or any TCG at that. Though I do like to try new things every now and then, maybe the Pokémon TCG wouldn't be a bad thing for me to get to learn.

I do have an abundance of old Pokémon cards, though.

Yeah sometimes I regret giving all of mine away that I spent a load of money on. I guess the main reason that I don't want to collect them anymore is because I don't really have the money to spend on them. I am trying to save everything and I know if I started to collect them...I'd end up spending hundreds if dollars at a time. I don't want to do that. When I was younger though, I didn't care so I just blew my money on them.

This sucker could literally cost upwards of thousands, though it's well known even outside of TCG realm.

However some of the newer cards interest me, too. Some super rare cards can still fetch $30-40 apiece I think.

Oh god, lmao. I so remember that card and I never got it. I really wanted it though ;~;

Holy crap, I have that Charizard! D=
I frickin' loved it too, so it's actually in really good condition!

Out of curiosity, how does one tell if their card is a 1st edition? That is probably an dumb question, but I have very little knowledge of cards anymore XD

Look at bottom left of the Charizard picture.

Oh ok, haha. I didn't expect it to be something so obvious, but apparently it is! That is nice to know though, so if I stumble upon some old cards that I might happen to still have in storage I will know if they are of more value :D

It's not.
But I do have a First Edition Dark Wartortle! Also in good condition!

Damn, I'll have to look through them all to remember what I have though.
