I honestly am slightly dreading Christmas. The last two years, it was less pleasant because of various things I was dealing with at the time. I'm just hoping that it won't happen again this year. x;
On the upside, I know that at least one of those problems is pretty unlikely to come back around.

I would at least hope the 3DS has a discount this Black Friday... it's quite the hot item from Nintendo this year that's for sure

In that case, prepare to share friend codes! I hate buying PC hardware that I never use, I bought a video card last year but probably played less than 100 hours of PC all year long.

I really, really try to stay home on black friday. Way too many crazy people.

Usually I travel up to Ocala to see family up on Black Friday and the traffic is horrible around the shopping plazas when we're trying to go find somewhere to eat.. and even finding somewhere to eat on Black Friday can be a hassle.

it gets thaat bad? over here it's only like that on boxing day. and i guess we might be getting black friday and boxing day ^^ if you're not familiar, it's basically black friday after christmas.

I've heard of the concept of boxing day, but I never understood it, and I'm not sure how widely it's used around here in the US if used at all :P

It's that day people like me get their real Christmas presents (because it's all tech related stuff :P) I remember in 2011 or something there was a tsunami or hurricane in Southeast Asia, and it basically screwed over the world supply of hard drives (cuz most of the manufacturing occurs there). How does this relate? I think it was on a boxing day and I couldn't get all the hard drives I wanted methinks.

I would hate if if I went to a store to look for something only to find it was all sold out.. and not all hard drives come from Asia, John :p some of them do come from here in North America as well

Yeah, well Seagate and WD both had plants in Thailand that got screwed over when the flooding hit. Also, SSD's are cool, but hard drive requirements for games just get bigger and bigger :(

It is indeed, but from what I've read, it's also celebrated as a holiday as well in Canada.
