My parents were the same, until they met my Advanced Algebra with Trigonometry teacher. After we had a parent-teacher conference with her to discuss my near failing grade, my mom turned towards me and told me to just get a "C". I ended up getting a "D-", but my mom wasn't too angry. If you're wondering just how close I was to failing, how about a 60.68%. She was my least favorite teacher, half of the class failed just about every year.
 
Algebra and trig aren't hard concepts if they're taught properly. If half of the class is failing, then she might just be a bad teacher.

Earlier today I got some kind of invitation to honor society, I don't know if it's a scam or not but it said I was in top 15% of the class last year. Guess what my mom said, "Try to get in top 3%, my dear."

Sometimes I think parents expect a little too much out of their kids and puts too much pressure on them. I know I felt that way a LOT.
 
Internet is just an outlet for one to get away from their real life pressures... sounds like something that a psychologist would say.
 
I never try to push myself too hard now that I'm aware that all it matters is whether you can put what you learned into good use.
 
Sometimes i really do feel the need in having to push myself because I've spent days on end now hoping to call back a potential employer, but I haven't done so yet, and it's gonna hurt me in the long run if I don't have enough money to start school in January.
 
Okay, maybe I have a little bit of a life. Like, a tiny bit.

Aha, my friends and I were debating which was sexier, Italian or French.

What do you guys think?
 
I mean, I was talking about languages, but I guess John was thinking of women. Idk. Italian men seem hot though. The way they toss those pizzas around.
