Melody Hendricks

Melody steps off the bus, stifling a yawn as she looks at the city. The Festival won't start for another few hours, but that means she'll be able to get some food first. She walks down the street, wishing she could levitate, but she knows she needs to keep a low profile. Everyone looks so happy, it makes her want to sing.

"Believe it or not, I'm walking on air! I never thought I could be, so free~e~e! Flying away on a wing and a prayer, who could it be? Believe it or not, it's just me!"

She slips into a local diner, ordering herself some pancakes with LOTS of syrup.

Rex Dart

Outside the city, two young boys are looking for Pokemon. They aren't having much luck, and the younger one complains.

"We're never gonna find anything, are we?" The other boy shushes him. "You hear that?"

Both boys stop, hearing a deep, loud snoring. "W-w-what is that?" "I don't know. It's big, though. Maybe it's a Snorlax!" The boys head on down the road, excited to see the large creature.

Instead, they find a mountain of a man asleep in the shade of a tree. A Fennekin lies curled up on his chest, while a Sylveon and Cubchoo lay beside him. A Pidgeotto roosts on a tree branch nearby. Rex snores loudly, and the boys leave in disappointment.

Rex wakes up shortly thereafter, yawning as he gathers up Brian's Pokemon. "Wake up, Kit. Wake up, Sparkle. You too, Wings and Snowy." The snoring continues, and Rex rolls his eyes as he checks behind the tree. A Snorlax lies sleeping in a ditch, the source of the loud snoring. Rex shrugs as he resumes his journey to Ecruteak, finally arriving just before 6 A.M.

Pokemon
Spoiler:

Orion woke up in his room. He had rented a room in Ecruteak City for the Autumn Festival. Orion never, ever missed a party. He threw his sandals on and slid out of bed. Shuffling over to his closet he shoved on some clothes, being the Autumn festival no one would question his odd, tyranitar-like features. He threw open his door and headed out into the city.

"Wheres all the good food at?" He grumbled to a tourist that was passing by with a tray of breakfast

The man pointed in the direction of a small cafe.

"Thanks man" He said slapping the guy's food into his face, laughing while he ran to the cafe.

He walked into the cafe, and sat down. A waitress came over to him and asked what he wanted.

"I'll take whatever you recomend" He said winking.

She brought him out the most expensive thing on the menu. He laughed and devoured his food. When she returned she was expecting him to pay. He laughed at the thought.

"Cash or check?" She asked looking at him inquisitively.

"How about you just let me go to the festival? I'll even let you hang out with me later." He grinned, using attract on her.

She giggled, "okay, here's my number. Call me!" she yelled as he walked out of the cafe and into the street.

"That was way too easy" He chuckled and went on his way, searching for something to do.

Phoena:

Phoena had woken early. She had been having nightmares of an explosive battle of legendary pokemon and she had been caught it the middle of them. Right before the attacks had hit, she had launched forward in her bed at a hotel near the large pond toward the north side of the town. She looked out the window and the climate had changed season from summer to autumn over night.

She got out of bed and rubbed her head. She couldn't sleep, and when she finally did, she had the nightmare. She looked at the time, it was nearing 6 a.m. She looked around and yawned. She looked over at her costume she had picked out. It was a Phione outfit, a pokemon that shared a name extremely close to her own. She had fixed her hair into a long ponytail, similar to what Phione had on their heads. She put the hood on that was shaped like a Phione head, but had a hole near the top where she could put her hair through. She now looked exactly like a Phione, almost, if not for her having a normal human's skin tone and she had no desire to use paint. She knew that everyone would know what she was, perhaps. She ate some stantler jerky that she had bought with the outfit the night before. She didn't want to eat too much. She knew that she would be sampling food throughout the whole day. She waited for the sun to get further up in the sky, as she had no desire to go out at night.

Shadow:

Shadow paced back and fourth in his room, trying to figure out what to dress up as. He didn't really want to be a fire type. Even though the town was full of hybrids, he didn't want to show his true typing. Shadow was sure that secrete Team Rocket members might be around. He thought about everything, but nothing came to mind. He thought about not even dressing up, but what? He couldn't think of anything. And no one in the place he stayed, seemed to be awake yet. Normally he wouldn't be anyway. So instead, he dressed up and warm clothing, but not as warm as that he wore in the Ice Cave. He wore a simple cloth jacket with blue jeans. He wrapped a dark blue scarf around his neck like most males did with scarves.

His pokemon were still sleeping, so he decided to go talk to Morty while they stayed behind, but his Glacieon awoke and followed him out. When he had operations in Johto with Phoena a few years back, the three had become good friends. He walked through the early morning halls with Glacieon following him. He would only pass a person here and there all in which were just coming in for the festival. The halls were hold Johtoian style building from the inside and out. The floors creaked under his foot steps as he tried to keep quiet. He could smell fresh eggs cooking in the kitchen of the dance hall. But he ignored the food.

Before he could get out, he heard a fan girl cry.

"EEEEEEEKKKKKK! A Glacieon! It is so cute!" A female in a kimono rushed over to him. In fact he knew this girl from his last time here.

"Zuki? Man you have grown." Shadow said.

"Wait? Shadow? Is that really you? Oh wow it is good to see you again. How long as it been? Where is Phoena?" Zuki asked, overwhelmed with questions.

"Yep it is me. Nice to see you again. And I think it has been 3 years. As for Phoena... well let us just say... we haven't really seen eye to eye." Shadow said, looking back at yesterday.

"Oh I am so sorry. I thought you two would be together forever. But... you have changed... and you have a mystical vibe about you." Zuki announced.

"Huh? Really? Well I have changed a little. Guess you could say I went through a.... drastic change..." Shadow said.

"Oh I am sorry for holding you up. You must be going to see Morty, but before you go, I need to ask a favor." Zuki said, giving a slight bow.

"Sure go ahead." Shadow said.

Zuki looked up, "Well you see, we were planning to give a show tonight. But we needed one of each Eeveelution. If it isn't too much to ask, do you think you could assist us tonight with the show? We can show you everything... also... we need a.... well..... a Ho-oH. Do you think you could take this outfit and dress like a Ho-oH? I know it is sudden and all.... but... you are the only one we can turn to at the moment. Plus, you are pure of heart when it comes to pokemon, and Ho-oH is only said to show up for pure hearted trainers. We have the outfit and everything. It is the only one of its kind. Please?" Zuki used puppy dog eyes.

Shadow put his hand on his head. He sighed, knowing that she would get what she wanted one way or another. He didn't have a costume anyway, "Sure I can help."

"Great! Here come with me!" Zuke exclaimed and dragged him away to the back of the building where the Kimono Girls would normally ready for a show.

???

A man... or was it a pokemon... walked into the town. Constantly changing forms. At will he could transform into any one and any pokemon he so desired as long as it or they were around. He smiled as he turned into a little girl dressed in a pichu outfit as he passed her. He walked through the city, constantly changing. He would sometimes act like a normal person from time to time to buy something he wanted. Being seen by no one and if he was seen, he would quickly transform and lose them. He was a Master of Illusion and so was his pokemon.

Arryn; Ice & Dark

Ecruteak City, 5am

Arryn rolls over, arm draped lazily above her head and she peers from beneath it. The alarm clock with a built in radio rang obnoxiously in the compact room. She slaps sleepily at it and winces as it clatters to the ground.

"Fine," she kicks at the sheet until her legs are free and sits up.

Fortunately, her room had some spare robes to change into; the dress was uncomfortable enough during the day, wearing it to bed was less than ideal.

The rucksack with all her belongings had been pushed - kicked, really - underneath the bed before Arryn promptly passed out. She squats to retrieve it and dig out suitable clothes for the day. While everyone looked quite amazing dressed the way they were, Arryn would only feel uncomfortable and instead opts for her usual style.

Sneasel - she hadn't decided on a name yet - had slept on the comforter in the corner, his broken claw dangerously close to his eye. Arryn pads across the room, bare feet on wooden boards and carefully moves his hand away. The action stirs him awake. He yawns, arms stretching high above his head and come to rest in his lap.

"Rise and shine," she raises her voice to rouse her sleeping Absol at the foot of her bed, sprawled across the mattress. Madox remained in his Pokeball after finding them shortly before teleporting to Ecruteak City.

Shadow bumps her hip roughly as she jumps down from the bed, showing her displeasure at the time of day.

"How is it you're even grumpier in the morning?" Arryn pulls her boots on and works at the laces. Shadow and the Sneasel still had to get used to each other, possibly why Shadow insisted on the bed.

Arryn takes a quick glance at her reflection in the full length mirror hung on the wall and is satisfied what a quick shower the night before and rest had accomplished. I no longer look like road kill, so that's a start. Still, she piles her hair into a ponytail atop her head before exiting the room, hesitantly.

When Shadow had suggested the place, Arryn was too tired to deliberate on other options. Besides, she's never been to Ecruteak City - or any place out of Kanto, for that matter. While in such a foreign place, all she could do was trust his judgement.

Valkyrie, Lucas, and Proton
"Val...we might be on different sides now, but we can still enjoy the festival together, right? Just like we did every year..." If possible, Lucas' ears and tail had drooped even more as Val had told him to leave.

"It's not you I have the problem with."

"Well, Lucas, you've found her and I don't want to be here any more than she wants me here."

"I take it you're leaving then. No doubt to report my treachery."

"Of course."

"Team Rocket is so small a threat...and it was bound to happen." Val shrugged. Her focus turned to Lucas, not even noticing as Proton left.

"We can do this festival together, right? Pleeeaaase Val?" The Psychic/Electric hybrid was displaying a masterful example of puppy eyes. Yet Val didn't seem to be affected. Desperate, he played his final card. "Val...it's tradition..."

"Grr...fine. But Lucas, you have to remember that we are not allies anymore." Finding herself suddenly wrapped up in a tight hug from the younger hybrid, she just growled again and rolled her eyes. "Let. Go." Lucas obeyed with a pout. "Thank you. Now, I'm trying to find somewhere to eat. Somewhere open at such an early time."

"Ooh! Ooh! No problem! I'll sniff something up!" Lucas' nose began to twitch. Then he tensed and took off at top speed. With Gliscor clinging to her shoulder and Hydreigon following close behind, Val ran after him.

"Arceusdammit Lucas!" He'd just ran off without warning. Then again, he always did. She and her Pokemon caught up to the energetic boy outside a diner and he gave her a smug look. "Yes, I know. And I never said I doubted you."

"I didn't even say anything!" The pair went inside, grabbing a seat. Their orders were quickly placed, and as they waited, they chatted. "How's Persian doing?"

"Fine."

"Your other Pokemon?"

"Fine."

"Aren't you going to ask about mine?"

"Fine...how are yours?"

"Effie and Thunders miss you. I've got a full team of six now, but I'm not giving anything away!"

"Alright." Val glanced out a nearby window. Hydreigon had been too big to fit through the doors, but didn't seem to enjoy being in her Ultra Ball. So the Dragon/Dark type was patiently waiting outside. She was silent from then on, ignoring any and all attempts Lucas made at conversation. When their order came, she ate in silence as well, continuing to ignore him. After paying, as they left, she was silent and ignored him. While she fed Hydreigon the extra bacon she'd ordered just for the Pokemon, she was silent and ignored him.

But he still didn't get the hint and kept on talking to her.

Gliscor eventually got tired of listening and hid in his Ultra Ball. Val kinda wished she could do the same thing. It now seemed to be somewhere around 6:30 am. Two and a half more hours until the festival began. What to do until then?

Tulip stirred a little in her sleep then woke up next to Orchid and quietly got out of bed.

Tulip went and got ready for her big day. She had gotten probably like 100 costumes from the shop. She put most of them in this little bag that you shrink, so it doesn't take so much space.

[PokeCommunity.com] Darker than it Seems... [IC]

Tulip giggled looking at herself in the mirror she looked perfect. She skipped out of the room, leaving Orchids costume for her when she woke up.

Tulip smiled, letting the sunshine hit her as she went outside and took a twirl. The festival didn't start until later so Tulip was going to do some training with her Pokemon. Tulip made her way to the forrest and let out all her Pokemon.

The Pokemon stretched some of them haven't been out of their Pokeballs in a very long time.

Bellossom did a little dance, and Togekiss flew around in the air.

"Im so sorry I haven't let you guys out in a while." Tulip said softly. She felt really bad.

"Well are you guys ready to battle?!"

The Pokemon cheered. Then they started to train. Tulip worked on their individual ataacks and group attacks until she felt that they were ready for the tournament.

MEANWHILE

Orchid woke up and frowned. It was too early for her to be up. She rolled out of bed and saw the outfit Tulip left for her and frowned.

"What the **** is that?" Orchid said sighing not wanting to see how pissed Tulip would be so she got in the shower then put on the outfit and the wig.

[PokeCommunity.com] Darker than it Seems... [IC]

She rolled her eyes. She looked good but still a little ridiculous. She went out of the room and to a near by Diner to get coffee.

She sat at the diner sipping her coffee, while some people gave her strange looks.

She sighed and finished her coffee and left without paying for it. She walked around the city, twirling a Shadow ball on her finger.

Lydia

Seeing the changed Deacon, Lydia had to hold back her horror at his transformation. Shadow, Deacon, and maybe even Brian had changed types over a short period of time. Shaking her head Lydia followed Shadow and Arryn to where they were staying, going into her room Lydia hid in the bathroom so no one could see her, turning off the light Lydia breathed heavily. The thought the Hybrids were changing types because they were unstable scared Lydia, who wanted to find balance for the world and herself. At the same time the possibility to change to a type she preferred gave her a little hope. Closing her eyes, Lydia reached deep within herself and summoned power she had not used for years.

Seeing she still had her old second type she stopped. Exiting the bathroom she found Aciri waiting for her outside the door. Leaning down Lydia telepathically asked Aciri, "What is it?" The Vulpix looked at the hand Lydia had used to summon the energy. "I'm sorry I am not comfortable doing it again. I do not like to use those abilities," said Lydia. The Pokemon hung its head sadly and walked over to the bed. Lydia frowned and went to bed herself.

The Next Day

Lydia woke up before her Pokemon companions, looking outside she saw the sun was soon to rise. Quickly getting dressed, the woman left her room quietly. Leaving the hotel, she quickly walked for the outskirts of the town. Looking around she spotted a hill overlooking the town. Focusing her energy she teleported on top of it. Folding her legs under her body she closed her eyes as she began to levitate as she began to meditate on top the scenic spot.

Several minutes later a strong voice interrupted her deep thoughts, "I hope you do not mind me joining you." Startled Lydia's legs quickly touched the ground as she turned around to see a man standing a few feet away. He wore grey khaki pants and a white shirt with a black jacket. He was carrying a small bamboo box and he had a pair of strange double edged swords on his back. His hair was as dark and despite him looking close to Lydia's age his face showed more wear and tear on it. His eyes were an unsettling shade of blood red, and his various scars only added to his threatening appearance. Lydia slowly nodded to the man as she did not want to be rude. As he got closer Lydia tried to get a feel for him, but his emotions were calm and controlled.

The man gave the hybrid a respectful bow and walked up next to her and sat on the grass next to her. He pulled out a pair of small metal cups out of the box and carefully sat them down on the hard earth. He then pulled out a small thermostat which he poured the contents into each of the cups. To Lydia's surprise he offered her one of the cups and said in an emotionless voice, "Sorry that I intruded on your thoughts, but I was told this was an excellent spot for viewing the sunrise over the city. I do not get to enjoy peace often and I try to take advantage of any chances that present themselves to enjoy the small things. By the way would you like some tea?"

Lydia took the cup as she continued to eye the strange man trying to figure out what he meant. She then telepathically said to him, "Thank you, my name is Lydia by the way." She sat down next to the man taking a careful sip of the hot drink. Her eyes grew big as the pleasant taste of the liquid entered her mouth. "This is good, did you make it?" exclaimed Lydia.

The man nodded with a slight smile as he replied with a thank you, but did not give his name. The tea seemed to settle Lydia's nerves as she sat quietly next to the man as they watched the sun rise together. The man refilled Lydia's cup once but other than that the two did not talk. Once the sun had risen the man quietly packed his things and stood to leave. Lydia stood as well and said, "Thank you for the tea." The man looked at Lydia and gave her a small bow before turning and walking down the hill. Lydia watched him leave wondering who he was and why he had come. She regretted not talking to him, or finding out his name as she teleported back to her hotel room.

A few minutes later she was in the lobby with Aciri waiting for the others to emerge for the day. Looking around Lydia noted there were a lot of people in Pokemon costumes walking around. She began to wonder why people were dressed up, and if she should get one.

Melody Hendricks

Everyone in town is getting so hyped for the festival, and a lot of people are already in costume. Some of them are really extravagant, too. Melody almost feels bad for spending so much time to get the colors right, without actually changing her appearance any. Other than wearing the skirt, that is. She's starting to miss pants, and she's glad she decided not to levitate today.

Her train of thought regarding wardrobe malfunctions derails when she sees a girl in an Absol costume twirling a dark orb on her finger. Either that's an impressive costume, or this girl is hiding a secret...

"Hey! 'Sup, dude?" Melody jogs over to Orchid, looking at her hand. "Sweet party trick! How'd you do that?"

Rex Dart

"I'm from out of town. Where would I go to get a room?" Rex asks the first person he sees, a man dressed as a Milotic. Honestly, all these people dressed in costume...

"A room? Well, you'll want the dance theater. They're offering free rooms for anyone participating in the Festival. Love the costume, by the way. Black spiky hair, leather jacket... Let me guess, you're a Mightyena?"

"This is how I always dress." Rex almost growls. He doesn't appreciate catty remarks about his outfit.

"Oh! Sorry, I just assumed, with the Festival and all... I'll just leave you alone, good sir..." The man saunters off, stopping to look at a string of lights shaped like Gourgeists.

Rex just sighs, heading in the direction the man pointed him in, Brian's Pokemon following closely. He walks past a clothing store, not even bothering to look inside. The door is too small for him, they certainly wouldn't have anything in his size. Also, he refuses to play dress up.

"I still have some dignity." He says to Sparkle, holding the pink cat-creature in his arms as he enters the lobby. He finally spots a familiar face. "Hey! Lydia!" He heads over to her, breaking into a big smile.

Delysia - Road to Ecruteak - 2 AM

Delysia cherished the feeling of cold wind blasting her face and running its cold fingers through her clothes. The crisp night air had even more of a chill than normal, autumn was definitely around the corner, if not here already. The trees were already starting to change color, illuminated in the headlights of her ATV. She would have preferred a motorcycle, but sometimes you just have to make do with what you can steal. Which in this case was the station ranger's new shiny quad bike. She slightly regretted stealing it from him, but only slightly.

It had been easy, almost too easy to do. She had mastered the skill of pick pocketing long ago, but in this case it was a breeze. The guard had fallen sleep at the station that led away from Mt. Silver, and with the amount he was snoring she doubted even a room full of Loudred could have woken him up. Slipping the keys to the station garage was a cinch, and she didn't even need to hot-wire the quad. Also in the garage had been a couple Humvees, but she steered clear of those, disliking cars. Those especially drove terribly, they handled more like tanks than any conventional vehicle, and it took forever to accelerate.

She grinned as she shook her head, letting her short hair whip in the wind. She really should have been using a helmet, but she couldn't help it on a night like tonight. The air just felt so crisp and she loved the wind against her skin. Admiring the moon, she flipped off her headlights, driving by the light of the nearly full moon alone. The moonlight shone down upon the road giving her a beautiful vista of the valleys below the mountain stretching out in the pale glow of the moon. Catching a glimpse of a sign post, she barely saw before the sign flashed past "Ecruteak City: 23 Miles". As she drove she let her mind wander, finding herself visiting her memories of the two strangers in the mountain.

Despite their oddness, she had enjoyed their company. She had gotten the idea of traveling to Ecruteak City from the woman Val. She had overheard the two of them talking, which she had noticed was a particularly bad habit of hers, that Val was traveling to Ecruteak for some sort of Autumn Festival. Delysia didn't like the crowds much, she tended to feel claustrophobic. But large numbers of people did mean there was going to be lots of pockets to pick, belongings left carelessly on benches, and most likely drunk people too far gone to keep an eye on their wallets. She wasn't proud of being a thief, but she had come to terms long ago that living meant stealing. And to be honest, most people could do with some stealing from.

People she didn't like. Too often they were cruel to each other, and more often to pokemon. That was one thing she had noticed about Val in particular, she had been fair to the pokemon she had caught and didn't force it to follow her. She had found more than a few hybrids like that. Maybe it was just that being abused for much of your life made you more compassionate to those who also endure through abuse. Then again, some of those abused hybrids had turned their anger and cruelty back on their pokemon, so she didn't put too much credence into that belief. Her mind turned to a darker place, remembering past experiences. She shook her head, trying vainly to dislodge the painful memories that refused to leave her mind.

She was suddenly snapped back into reality with a siren blaring directly behind her, accompanied by the red and blue flashing lights of a police car. "Shit" she swore under her breath. Driving at night without headlights, and probably speeding too. The quad itself was legal on the roads, but she had no license or insurance. Her mind raced through options, struggling to find the best solution to escape the situation while doing as little damage as possible. All the time she thought the cop took his sweet time getting out of the car, pulling a large bright flashlight and shining it in her face as he walked towards her.

"Ma'am, you do know that driving without your headlights is extremely dangerous, right? You were going the speed limit, and the moon is full, but still. Another car wouldn't have been able to see you." She hung her head guiltily in response, stammering out a few apologies. The cop sighed. "Ma'am, have you been drinking." When he got a hesitant shake of the head in response he yawned tiredly, "Just walk the line please, I just want to make sure."

Delysia groaned, getting off the quad bike. Her only saving grace at this point was that the officer hadn't asked for her license or registration yet. As she positioned herself on the white line that marked the side of the road, she came up with an idea. After taking a couple careful steps she deliberately tripped towards the cop, stumbling awkwardly. After another couple steps that stumble turned into a full out charge and the officer's outstretched hands meaning to catch her balled into fists. It was too late though as Delysia used the move close combat directly in the man's chest. Relief flooded through her as she felt her fists impact the kevlar vest underneath, knowing she wouldn't harm the man too badly. That's not to say it didn't hurt though, he would have a few broken ribs at least. The cop stumbled and tripped backwards toward his car, bumping his head on the bumper and leaving him feeling dazed and confused. Delysia took no chances though, reaching into her concealed pocket in her backpack and tossing a handful of a few dozen poison spikes directly underneath the police car before twisting the ignition and screaming down the roads to Ecruteak like a zubat out of hell.

Ecruteak City - 4 AM

Delysia moved from shadow to shadow in the dark sleeping city, as if one of the streetlights could spot her and wake up the whole city to her presence. That probably wasn't the case, but she couldn't be too careful. She had already seen two police cars racing towards the road that she had come from. She swore under her breath again. Had she been pulled over another ten miles back and Ecruteak probably wouldn't have been alerted. But now they would have to assume that she had come here. They probably had her description too, making matters worse. Glancing around for options she saw a shop with a large sign saying "Autumn Festival Costumes - 25% Off Sale". She grinned, "Now that's bloody convenient. Lets go shopping."

A half hour later she was back on the street with a bundle of clothes tucked under one arm, dashing once again from shadow to shadow back to the woods near the city. She carefully picked her way through the dark woods until she came to the place where she had concealed the quad bike. She had considered ditching the thing, but it was useful transportation, and she had been confident that she could hide it in the woods. If the cops found it, then so what? She could ditch it just as easily. It was carefully camouflaged though, turning the vehicle into what actually looked like an orange bush next to a boulder. Unless you were really looking for it, you wouldn't spot the reflective headlights poking out of the not-bush, or the gray wheels that didn't quite match the coloring of the rock they were next to.

She sighed with contentment as she arrived at her makeshift camp, casting off her clothes and changing into the costume that she had found. She had felt guilty about breaking into the shop. They would probably need a new doorknob for the back door, and she felt bad about taking the costume too. She had left a small pile of money on the counter to pay for the costume, and she could only hope that the cops wouldn't be able to connect the dots by the end of the day. By then, she should be long gone with her supplies and a full belly. Pulling off her clothes she awkwardly changed into the new ones, bouncing from one foot to another as her bare feet touched the cold forest floor beneath her. When she was done she set her C-Gear on the rock and had it take a picture of herself in the pre-dawn light. With a brilliant flash from the camera the picture was taken, and she hurriedly took a look. She smiled when she saw the image of herself. I don't look half bad, she thought. At the very least, it should keep the cops wondering for a day or two.

Still smiling, she set an alarm to wake her up at seven thirty, and curled herself under the blanket she pulled from her pack. Later, chores. Now, sleep.

Deacon Masterson

Deacon snores loudly as the night changes to day. He had told Shadow the previous night about the Dance Theater who in turn had recommended it to everyone in the group who needed to stay for the night. Deacon's snoring was that of a dragon, and one man was banging on the wall opposite Deacon from another room to try and wake him. Deacon roared loudly as the man took back his hand, terrified. From there on the man stopped trying to interrupt Deacon's sleep, as Deacon grinned sheepishly. After a while of more sleeping Deacon woke up and looked around. Deacon slowly sat up and shook the covers off himself before changing back into his Salamence Gijinka costume. Deacon walked over to his door and opened it, heading out into the hallway.

It wasn't long before Deacon saw Rex and Lydia standing together. Deacon walked up to them and greeted them. "Hey, Rex and Lydia! How are you guys doing?" Deacon asked them. Deacon looked the two up and down before noticing they weren't in any costume. "Huh, how come you two aren't wearing costumes? This shall not stand. I'm taking you both to the costume shop right now!" Deacon said to them. He grabbed Lydia and Rex's hands and lead them outside of the Dance Theater. Deacon walked with them until they arrived at the best costume shop in town. Deacon walked in with both of them, then turned to look at them. "Now we're not leaving till you both pick out a costume. I'll pay for both of them." Deacon insisted. He was intent on seeing two of his best friends dressed up. Rex might not go for it, but Lydia was another case. Deacon knew he could convince her to do so.

Jack Frost

Jack was dreaming his dark dreams again until the sunlight pierced through the window in his room and he woke up. Jack sat up and threw the covers off himself. Being part ice type, he didn't like being too warm anyway. Jack quickly got ready and dressed up into his Abomasnow Gijinka costume. Jack walked out the door into the hallway. After seeing no one there, he walked outside the dance theater and looked around. He spotted one man walking by who looked like he didn't get much sleep and took him by the arm. "Hey, do you know where the best food in the city is?" Jack asked the man. The man pointed to a nearby diner. Jack walked up to the diner until he noticed Melody was already there. He noticed she was talking to another girl who was dressed up and twirling a Shadow Ball on her finger like a basketball. Jack walked up from behind and smiled. "Hey, Melody. How are you doing? It's nice to see you made it." Jack smiled as he talked to Melody. "By the way, who is your friend there?" Jack asked her.

Pokemon
Spoiler:

Brian was starting to get nervous, he was late and he couldn't find his group. He checked around, but the mass of people running around was distracting and he couldn't see anyone in his group. Did they leave without him? He was starting to give up hope. He walked over to a cart that was selling various foods, he was starving as he hadn't eaten breakfast yet. He picked out some sort of fried thing on a stick, he wasn't sure exactly what it was but it tasted good. He also bought a few caramel apples for his pokemon, they were staring at the treat the entire time he was ordering his own. He pulled some money out of his shoe, emergency cash he kept there in case he needed it. He thanked the street vendor and handed the apples to his sylveon who wrapped his ribbons around them and held them out for the other pokemon to eat. It was just then he spotted Arryn and he waved at her to get her attention, they still had a chance to win this competition.

Valkyrie and Lucas
"Vaaaaaaaal!"

"What?" the Normal/Ghost hybrid snapped, annoyed with Lucas' whining.

"I'm boooored!"

"We go through this every single damn year, Lucas! This is why you're not supposed to arrive at 5 in the morning!"

"But you did..."

"I have no concept of time, I was traveling all the way from the Kanto/Johto border, without any sort of electronic device. How could I know what time it was? You, on the other hand, have been stationed in Goldenrod base since we became partners, happen to own a very nice digital clock, and ha- ooof!" So distracted she had been by chewing out the younger hybrid that she hadn't been watching where she was going, and bumped right into some boy in an Eevee costume. "Watch it!" she growled, her gaze tracking him as he ran a short distance away and happened to bump into someone himself. At the costume shop. Had she really walked all the way around the city, and come in a full circle, without it noticing it while trying to ignore Lucas' rambling? With a snort, she recognized the man the Eevee kid had bumped into. That giant, from the hybrid group that Gray ran.

"Woah, that dude's big!"

"No one cares Lucas," she huffed, grabbing his arm and tugging him away from the costume shop. Hey, she didn't have to like people to protect them. That was the group she was part of now, and Lucas was a Rocket hybrid. It was in her own self-interest that he didn't interact with any of them.

"Hey, wait a minute!" The Psychic/Electric hybrid pulled himself from her grasp and darted back the way they'd come. "It's the costume shop! I wanna see what they have this year!"

"It doesn't matter," Val grumbled, following him into the shop. "You do the same thing every year: pretend that your ears and your tail are your costume, and that you're dressed in an Espeon gijinka costume." While he ignored her in favor of the browsing, she kept close, doing her best to keep him from taking notice of the small group of hybrids. There seemed to be four of them. Rex, that Eevee boy she'd ran into, that Dark/Dragon idiot that seemed to think he was better than her due to having a type advantage, and some girl.

Unfortunately, Lucas caught her glances towards the group, popping up next to his former partner to peer over a costume rack at them. "Hey, it's that poor guy you slammed into earlier. And the big man. Woah, does that one have robotic limbs? You think it's part of his costume? Ooh, that girl's kinda cute. Probably not my type though. Why were you looking at them? Do you know them? Are they friends of yours? Is that why you left Te-"

"Do you ever shut up?!" Val snapped, rather loudly, as she shoved him away. He stumbled a little, then shook his head with a grin, used to her behavior.

Lydia

Lydia turned toward Rex and smiled while telepathically saying to him, "Good morning Rex it is…" She was interrupted by Deacon who entered the lobby as well and greeted the two. It was not his fault for the interruption as he had no idea Lydia was talking due to her communication link only being to Rex. The enthusiastic dragon trainer walked up and quickly figured out both Rex and Lydia were not wearing costumes and decided to fix that himself. When the newly changed Deacon took Lydia's hand she flinched and jerked her hand away from him a little. It wasn't enough to make his grip break, but it was enough that he likely noticed her trying to pull away. It did not stop him, and Deacon walked the pair to a nearby shop Lydia did her best to not show her discomfort with his new typing.

Once inside the shop, Lydia was released to look around. She had no idea what pokemon she should dress up as, or if she even wanted to. A friendly sales lady walked up as Lydia glanced through the Psychic pokemon section and asked, "Do you need help?"

Lydia responded telepathically without thinking that it might freak the lady out but quickly realized this mistake and corrected it, "Yes, I have no idea what to dress up as… I am sorry I have to communicate like this because I cannot speak normally I hope I did not startle you."

The lady kept her smile and replied, "O you are a psychic! That is awesome! Let's see maybe a…" Just then the woman spotted the bored looking Aciri sitting next Lydia and an idea formed. Looking at Lydia with an excited glance she asked, "Is that your Vulpix? How much is your budget?"

Lydia looked at Aciri before replying, "This is Aciri and she travels with me. The man with a costume with wings said he would pay for mine as I do not have any money myself."This answer brought a sly smile and a wink from the woman as she took enthusiastically took Lydia's hand.

"Do not worry we will get his money's worth," said the woman as she took Lydia to a different section. What original was just going to be just a costume, turned into a full makeover once the sales lady discovered Lydia's unique lifestyle and that she had never done things like put on make up, shave her legs, cared for her nails. Before Lydia knew it she was leaning back in a comfortable chair with one lady washing her hair, one doing her nails, and another working on her feet. Then came the painful waxing, make up, and the hair dying (a temporary dye she could wash out with a special shampoo). The young ladies kept talking about how Lydia would wow all the boys and it made her feel a little uncomfortable but she did not resist. Finally Lydia was allowed to put on the costume over an hour later.

Walking out into the main part of the store finally, Lydia felt strange in these unfamiliar clothes and the design of it made her feel a little self-conscious as she stood in the middle of the shop for all to see. Aciri seemed to approve as her tails wagged and a little smile appeared, but that likely had more to do with the costume being a Ninetails than how Lydia actually looked.

Spoiler:

Deacon Masterson

Deacon walked with Rex and Lydia till they arrived at the clothes shop with Brian in tow. Once Deacon had tried to lead Lydia, he had felt she resisted a little. Deacon understood in his mind though that Lydia as well as the others might be uncomfortable with his new look, but it didn't knock him off balance. He also knew that he felt guilty about what had happened earlier to Lydia and about The Haven. Deacon kept these thoughts to himself for now though. He didn't want to ruin the party before it even got started. After having gotten inside the clothes shop and telling Lydia and Rex they couldn't leave until they were in a costume, Deacon smiled as Lydia was lead away by a sales clerk to go try on a costume.

Deacon was stunned when Lydia came back after a full makeover and costume change in an elegant, fire type Ninetails Gijinka costume. "Wow, your costume looks great on you, Lydia! Thanks for taking my advice." Deacon said to her. Deacon walked up to the counter and paid for the costume. "Geez, this is expensive. But it's all worth it for a friend." Deacon said to her as he paid for it. Once done paying, Deacon walked back to Rex and looked at him. "Whatdaya say, Rex? I'm all dressed up as a dragon. Why not you?" Deacon asked him.

Shadow:

In the back of the dance theatre, after being pulled by Zuki across the building, he was forced into a chair where the other Eevee Sisters were waiting.

'How did they already know...' Shadow wondered.

"Ah there he is, quickly quickly! Let us quickly get the costume ready!" Sayo yelled.

Quickly the sisters started running around like Scraggy with the their heads cut off. There was a prick and poke here and their.

"Ouch ouch! Hey stop pocking me!" Shadow said, but the sisters continued to quickly work.

Over on the other side of the dress room, Glaceon played with the other eeveelutions that the females had. They still needed an Leafeon and Sylveon for a complete set, but he still hadn't been given the details about exactly what he had to do later on. He accepted blindly after telling Arryn that no one outside the group could be trusted. However, Shadow was good friends with the Komono Girls and Morty of the gym, as well as a few gym leaders throughout the world.

"Stop being such a baby Shadow! You are tougher then that!" Zuki scolded him as they continued to attack his hair and clothing.

'Do I even want to know... No I don't think I do... Me, Noivern and Krokorok wil be outside waiting.' Lucario's voice entered his head.

Shadow tried to put a wig on, to make his hair seem longer. He wasn't sure why. He thought Ho-oH had more of a crest on its head, but he didn't bother asking as he would just get scolded. He knew the Kimono Girls knew more about the legend than himself.

After some time passed, they stepped back. "Yes! It looks amazing!" Naoko announced.

Shadow got up out of the chair and looked in a mirror. Although not exactly a Ho-oH costume, he looked extremely similar to the mythical phoenix. Shadow actually loved it.

Spoiler:

"We didn't make the wig took long, we put it up to make it more like a crest and put a green ribbon in it. The tie around your neck isn't needed, we know some people don't like ties. It is a tragic thing really. We also didn't use the make up for the eyes or the talons. We didn't want you too look too much like a female." Sayo said.

"What do you think?" Miki asked.

"I love it, although it is a bit feminine, I think it looks good. Doesn't look too feminine without the talons and such. I really like the cape like robe. Makes it look like the feathers of Ho-oH." Shadow said.

"That is great to here! Well we will tell you when the time comes! Try not to get the costume destroyed! Also, I think Morty has been waiting on you. Sorry to have gotten you behind! Now, off you go. We have to get changed now and there is no way you are watching! Shoo shoo!" Zuki said pushing Shadow away from them.

The girls giggled as Shadow blushed at the thought of even watching them getting dressed. Glaceon followed behind. Shadow looked at the time, it was now 8 a.m. The first event would been in an hour.

As Lucario spotted Shadow, Shadow's jaw dropped. Lucario had dressed up like a Mewtwo, but it was obvious it was a costume. Krokorok had a beret on and a pain brush, making it look like a Smeargle. And Noivern looked like a Yveltal.

"Wh... where.... nevermind." Shadow smiled.

'What, you human can dress up, but we pokemon can't? Please, we want to enjoy the festival as well.' Lucario said.

"I'm just surprised. Come on, let's go. We need to meet Morty." Shadow quickly exited the Dance Theatre and headed toward the gym. As he ran toward the gym, the outfit blew in the wind, almost looking exactly like a miniature flying Ho-oH. People watched in amazement as he ran down to street. He looked around for everyone, but couldn't any. Suddenly he caught sight of Rex and the others inside a store. Shadow opened the door and quickly greeted them, his pokemon following close behind.

"Oh hey guys! Nice to see all you made it. Anyway, we better head to the Gym. I need to talk to Morty so I am going to go on ahead. Meet everyone there!" Shadow said, letting the door shut.

And as if planned, the megaphones through out the city blare out.

"Attention everyone! The first event of the day is about to start! Everyone meet at the Gym if you wish to take part in the event! I have names form everyone in the city thanks to my ghost types! Be warned, if you cause trouble, the unseen Shadow will put you asleep until late and you will not be able to wake up!" Morty's voice boomed through out the city.

Shadow was first to arrive and before anyone was out, he entered.

"Ah Shadow, finally you are here. Was wondering when you would show up." Morty greeted, putting down a radio like thing.

Phoena:

The skies had brightened up as the time turned to 8 a.m. The intercom sounded, giving everyone a message about the upcoming event. She adjusted her outfit and looked in the mirror, checking if everything was ok and not too much was reveled.

Spoiler:

She closed her eyes and smiled in the mirror, putting her hands together. "Ok! Let's go meet Morty!"

She knew from what Morty had explained that there would be groups that were randomly chosen by ghosts types. She knew Morty probably already had the groups and she wanted to know who she was grouped with. She kept her pokemon in their poke balls for the time being. She kinda wished she had found a Lugia outfit, but she wasn't concerned now, maybe later if this one was to get messed up. Why you may ask, well the story is a bit bigger. Ho-oH and the legendary beasts were not all the pokemon who were involved in the legend to what post people believe. Lugia was also involved in the Legend and the both legendary birds had actually once lived in the city together.

She continued walking down the street, sampling different foods as she went, but she kept the stantler jerky. People were starting to arrive at the gym, but she took the back way in so that she could talk to Morty. And as she entered, a Lucario dressed like a mewtwo snarled at her.

'Cario cario!'

She stopped, dead in her tracks. Morty looked up.

"Oh hey Phoena, did you come with Shadow?"

And that is when Shadow turned to see her. His eyes glared at her, but he was passive. Phoena's heart sank.

"Stand down Lucario." And with nothing else, Shadow turned his back to her to talk to Morty.

???

He watched and smiled. But then a kid dressed like an Eevee ran into him. He almost attacked the boy as he ran away after saying sorry. But he knew that wasn't his goal. Not when they were in a group like that. And definitely not part of that group. Not yet.

Deacon Masterson

Deacon was waiting for Rex to respond when Shadow busted into the costume shop and told the group they needed to go to the gym. Shadow was dressed up in a nice Ho-Oh resembling costume, but before Deacon could comment on how it looked a giant megaphone came on sounding out that the first event would start soon. "Darn it. We're out of time. Sorry, Rex, but you'll have to get a costume some other time." Deacon said to him. Deacon grabbed Rex, Brian, and Lydia by their hands and lead the three out of the costume shop and through the streets till they arrived at the gym. Rex was the only one not in costume, but he looked burly enough and his hair was just right that he looked dressed up anyway.

Deacon lead the group inside the gym until they got close to the origin of the voice of the megaphone. "Hey, Shadow. We're here." Deacon said to Shadow as he walked up to him. "By the way, who is your friend here?" Deacon asked Shadow as he was talking and looking at the man who had set the microphone down. Behind the man a little ways away was a girl dressed in blue with blue hair, but Deacon didn't know her so he didn't acknowledge that she was there.

Jack Frost

Jack was waiting for Melody to respond about who the girl twirling the Shadow Ball was until a loud voice on a megaphone sounded loud and clear. "That's the bell for the first event, Melody. We need to go." Jack said to her. He grabbed her hand and lead her through the streets until they arrived at the gym. Jack lead her inside until they were inside the gym among a ton of other people that were filing in. Out of the corner of his eye Jack noticed the pesky twerp Deacon was there, and dressed up as a Salamence Gijinka too. His friends were there too, around him. Jack knew he couldn't do anything to Deacon now though. If he tried anything the ghost types within the city would be commanded by Morty and one way or another Jack would get kicked out.

Jack wanted to enjoy in some festivities for once, and not have to deal with work. Jack turned his head so it was only facing the gym leader again along with Melody beside him. Luckily there was no way to tell that Jack was himself as he was dressed up in his Abomasnow Gijinka costume and his blonde hair had been dyed black for the occasion. Plus none of the hybrids besides Deacon had encountered Jack before and lived to tell the tale, so none of them would even know who he is in the first place. Jack awaited eagerly with Melody for the next announcement, a grin on his face.

Valkyrie and Lucas
As the announcement rang out, Lucas instantly switched to single-focus mode. "Let's go, Val!" He grabbed her hand and took off. His Electric typing and the training he'd went through to become a lightning bruiser made it difficult for Val, who'd gone for more of a glass canon approach to fights, to keep up. Even with him pulling her along. "The first event!"

"I am aware. Let go of my hand."

"Nope. We're here." And so they were. And they didn't seem to be the only ones. "Hey look! Your friends from the costume shop!"

"I never said they were my friends. Or that I knew them at all."

"You didn't need to say anything, Val. You though about how they were part of the group your new master leads -- his name is Gray -- and how you think the one with mechanical limbs is an idiot, don't really mind the big one, and don't really know the other guy or the girl. You also thought about how you wanted to keep my attention away from them, because I'm still a Rocket."

"Damn your Psychic typing, Lucas," she snarled, eyes narrowing.

"You didn't even notice when I began reading your thoughts. In fact, you foolishly left them unguarded, and forgot that I could read open minds. You're losing your edge, Val." He suddenly grinned, tail flicking around and ears perking up. "But since we're in Ecruteak, I have to behave! No worries...for now. Oooooh! I wonder who I'm partnered with for the two events that I signed up for. I can't wait to find out!"

"Wonderful. I hope you get along with whoever you're paired with," Val growled, taking a few steps away. She stopped as his hand closed around her wrist in an iron grip, though he continued to grin, looking as friendly as ever.

"Won't you hang out with me until I know who I'm paired with?"

Pokemon
Spoiler:

Everything happened so quickly it was hard to remember everything. Brian had asked Rex a question, but before he had a chance to respond Deacon interrupted him and then Shadow burst into the building. Before he knew what was happening Deacon was pushing them out the door and dragging them down the street. Brian winced when he noticed Deacon's hands were made of metal. He felt like vomiting, but luckily he hadn't had time to eat yet.

Deacon pulled them into the gym, where Shadow was already talking to the gym leader Morty. Brian smiled when he saw that Shadow was also in a costume, and that his pokemon were all with Rex. He scooped up his cubchoo and cradled it in his arms. When he looked up he noticed someone else in the building, it was the blue-haired girl!

Brian screeched like a little girl and almost passed out. He pointed at the girl, a frightened look on his face. He was unable to get any words out. There were tears streaming down his face. He had a nightmare last night about her coming back, he was starting to believe that he was a psychic type. It scared him, he was always terrified of psychics reading his mind. Now he was one, he shook uncontrollably as his nightmares of the incident started to resurface in his mind.

Spoiler:

Rex Dart

Lydia smiles at Rex, her words entering his head. Good morning, Rex. It is- Her words are interrupted by another voice, this one physical. "Hey, Rex and Lydia! How are you guys doing?" Rex is glad to see Deacon, but is less pleased when Deacon grabs him and tries to run off. Rex notices his grip seems stronger, almost vice-like, and Lydia seems uncomfortable with being grabbed. Rex reluctantly follows, not sure what Deacon is babbling about. Costumes?

As they reach the costume shop, Brian hugs him, appearing out if nowhere and gasping for air. "Rex, where are my pokemon? And why aren't you in a costume?"

Rex smiles at his young friend, taking the portable sleep sacks off his back. Cubchoo and Fennekin poke their heads out, and Sylveon emerges from inside Rex's coat. "I've kept them close, kid. I think your bird is outside, perched in that tree." Brian smiles, hugging Cubchoo close.

"Now we're not leaving till you both pick out a costume. I'll pay for both of them." Deacon gestures to the racks, and Lydia is apparently kidnapped by a helpful store clerk. Rex glances around the store, looking at all the costumes. "Yeah, no." Deacon looks insistent, so Rex pretends to shop. As he expected, they don't have his size. He briefly looks at various make-up and hair dye sets, but decides against it.

Finally, Lydia comes out, dressed like a Delphox or something. Deacon pays for her clothes, coming back to Rex. "Whatdaya say, Rex? I'm all dressed up as a dragon. Why not you?" Rex lets out a low, frustrated growl.

Around that time, Shadow appears, asking them all to meet him at the Gym. A voice over a loudspeaker requests the same thing. Deacon seems disappointed. "Sorry, Rex, but you'll have to get a costume some other time."

"No costume can contain me. My clothes are special ordered. From the day I was... 'born', my hair has not changed, so dyes won't work. Just drop the subject, please." Deacon gathers everyone up and heads for the Gym. Rex willingly follows, leaving the clothing store behind.

When they arrive, Shadow is talking to a man. Everyone appears to be in costume, but no one bothers Rex about not wearing one. Presumably they think he's dressed as a Dark type. His thoughts are interrupted when Brian suddenly shrieks, pointing at a woman in sheer terror. Rex had always admired his team's incredible talent for keeping a low profile. (Sarcasm.)

He scoops Brian up, holding him in his arms like a toddler. He moves away from everyone else, keeping his body between Brian and the woman. "What's wrong, kid? Do you know that girl?"

☆☆☆☆

Melody Hendricks

"Hey, Melody. How are you doing? It's nice to see you made it." Someone speaks up behind Melody, interrupting her super secret espionage attempt. She turns to glare at the interrupter, coming face to face (well, her face to his chest) with an Abomasnow. She yelps, jumping into the air in surprise. Remembering her cover (and realizing it's just a man in a costume), she immediately touches down on the ground, hoping no one noticed.

"Hey! Frosty! I didn't know it was you! Good to see you!" She grins nervously.

""By the way, who is your friend there?" Jack gestures to Orchid. "Um..." Before she can answer, a voice invites everyone to the Gym. Jack grabs Melody's hand, making her even more flustered. ""That's the bell for the first event, Melody. We need to go."

"Wait, what? Whoa!" Jack leads her out of the diner, guiding her through the busy streets. She doesn't resist, glad for someone so large to clear a parh for little ol' her. They make it to the Gym, where dozens of other people are lining up. Jack gives the evil eye to someone, but Melody doesn't recognize them. With all the costumes, it's hard to recognize anyone.

Melody looks around, but no one is paying attention to her. She floats up so she can be eye level with Jack, and can see what's going on. "Isn't this exciting? I've never been so excited! I mean, except for when you broke open my locker and recovered my prized possessions, but honestly, what could top that?" Hopefully, this first event proves exciting. Melody hasn't gotten out much, and feels ready to explode!

Shadow:

Shadow turns away from Phoena and doesn't say anything. Shadow still hadn't forgiven her for what she had done. But at least she didn't work with Team Rocket, at least not directly. He knew he had become a target, but he didn't know the person to hunt him down was Phoena. So he wasn't sure who he was mad at. Currently he was probably mad at anyone who was opposing him. He hoped that the day would go a bit smoother with everyone in the same place and with actual plans instead of random stuff happening.

"Well... ok then... I see that you two are currently seeing eye to eye. So I will not ask more. Anyway you two better take a spot in the crowd. So we can get this underway."

Shadow nodded and he and his pokemon walked toward the end of the crowd. He eyed everyone, but he couldn't pick out anyone, but Rex who was towering over everyone else.

It was then, Deacon, or who he thought was Deacon came up to talk to him with the others.

"Hey, Shadow. We're here. By the way, who is your friend?" Deacon asked.

Shadow looked over at Phoena who had already started walking away, "I don't know if we could be considered friends anymore. But we used to work together before I joined this group."

He looked at Deacon, who seemed to have metal limbs, but dressed like a salamence, "Those don't look like part of the costume? What happened?"

It was then Brian, screeched, pointing toward Phoena. Rex took Brian in his arms and cradle him. Shadow wondered how Brian knew Phoena and why he was so scared of her. She was a bounty hunter and as long as he wasn't a wanted person, he would be fine. Shadow also knew that Brian wouldn't be a target for a few more years, as bounty hunters only dealt with adults and refused to go after anyone under 18. He knew Brian had some how found out he was going to the Ice Cave and wondered if he had spied on him and Arryn's conversation back in the forest.

"Brian! Don't worry about her. She isn't after anyone. And she wouldn't attack anyone now." Shadow said as he turned his attention to Deacon, but then he caught who he thought was Lydia. Shadow blinked a moment, having a hard time even telling who she was.

"L-Lydia? I am surprised you dressed up. I am not currently sure where the others are at the moment. I left early on... actually.... I didn't actually leave because the Kimono Girls asked me for a favor later tonight with Glaceon and then basically forced me into this outfit. But oh well." Shadow said.
_________________________________________________________________________

Phoena:

Phoena couldn't blade Shadow. What she had done was cruel and not her normal way of taking care of targets. She had taking up a spot on the opposite side of the gym. She let out a small giggle when she saw the boy, Brian, point at her.

I can't believe it, that boy was actually a hybrid. He seems young to. I guess he thinks I am part of Team Rocket. Maybe I will scare him later on. Ahaha that would be great. Phoena thought, trying to keep her mind of Shadow.

He was no longer a target for the time. She had done was was asked of her and that was to put him in the ground. They never said to kill him directly.

Morty:

Morty scanned over the large mass of people who had entered the gym. He sighed as he walked over onto a podium with a mic.

"Attention everyone. Settle down." Morty spoke into the mic.

After a minute or so, it was finally quiet enough for him to speak.

"First off let me welcome everyone here. Pokemon, Hybrids, and Humans. Some of you may know that I am Morty, the gym leader here. As I have said before, there will be no fighting outside of pokemon battles. I know some of you do not like pokemon battles, so later on, you are welcome to avoid the event." Morty said.

He let it soak in and then continued.

"I will first read the history of the town. More notable the Bell and Brass Towers. Once I am done, each group will go to one of four landmarks of the city. The Brass Tower, which is now burned. The Dance Theatre. The Bell Tower and here at the gym. Each group will answer one question and then return to me by Noon. If answered correctly, you will earn 1 of 4 pieces. Then there will be one final question when everyone is gathered." (IRL Time End of August. This will be adjusted based on how long it takes people to get back to Morty.)

"So without further wait, listen carefully." Morty took a deep breath as he looked over everyone. After scanning the crowd, seeing some ghost times hovering above to watch the crowd, he started the history lesson as he liked to call it.

"Hundreds of years ago, my ancestors decided to build two towers, the Brass and the Bell Towers. These two towers were meant to foster the friendship of pokemon and people and now hybrids. This is one reason we keep this city as a safe haven for all. Many people, mostly my ancestors, have climbed to the top of the towers to commune with the two legendary pokemon that once lived here. Ho-oH and Lugia. One day about 150 years ago, the Brass Tower ignited into a raging fire by a bolt of lightning, but then a sudden downpour doused the flames. The legendary pokemon Ho-oH fled from its own tower. The legendary pokemon, Lugia, flew away from the tower and said to have retreated to the whirl islands where it would from there on live. No one knows why Lugia did this, possibly due to have been caught on fire by the tower and dived into the water to put itself out. Sadly not all pokemon survived, three nameless pokemon perished in the blaze. Legends say that it was possibly a Jolteon, Vaporeon, and a Flareon, but nothing is known as fact." Morty allowed everything he had just said sink in before continuing.

"Ho-oH briefly returned and resurrected the three pokemon into legendary pokemon now known as, Entei, Suicune, and Raikou. This three pokemon embodied the events of the fire, lightning bolt, raging flames, and sudden downpour. It was then, Ho-oH flew off in search of a pure-hearted trainer. Ever since then, stories tell that the pokemon have been seen only a few times. While Entei, Suicune and Raikou represent events of the fire. Ho-oH is said to be the Guardian of the Skies and Lugia is said to be the Guardian of the Seas." Morty finished.

The trainers talked among themselves for a moment, before Morty once against started to talk.

"There will be 4 types of groups, A, B, C, and D. Each letter signifies a location.
A is the Burnt Brass Tower.
B is the Bell Tower.
C is the Dance Theatre

I have chosen the groups at random. This will allow intention between people you may not be used to. Once you answer the question, you may go on else where in the city so you are not stuck waiting. Now for the groups. Note that these groups will change with other events. You will not have the same group.

Group A1 - Delysia, Arryn, Tulip and Brian.
Group B1 - Shadow, Phoena, Orion, and Val.
Group C1 - Orchid, Melody, Alek, and Jack
Group D1 - Rex, Deacon, Lucus and Lydia."
