Lydia

Lydia wanted to go with Arryn, but she understood why she needed to stay. Creating an orb of energy, Lydia held it out and it split into two orbs as it floated over to Arryn and the Vulpix. A second later they were teleported away as Lydia mentally said, "Good luck," to the pair. Lydia was alone except for the Fletchling. Taking off the outer cloak and putting down her staff Lydia sat in her mediation position on the soft green grass. She wanted to help, but her role was to wait for the others to return. As she mediated she considered what she had said to Arryn, and the words of both her now dead mentor and Masumi.

Standing up slowly Lydia closed her eyes and focused on her memories of past lessons.

Speed and precision is the key to this fighting style. Evade and block and create openings then strike like an Arboc, aiming for the pressure point… Your agility and speed are amazing, and how you use your abilities to augment them further means you should be able to outmatch any normal human… Keep practicing you were off target again, remember precision is the key… Settle down you will gain accuracy; just because the basic movements come easy to you doesn't mean everything should…

Lydia entered a stance she had not used in years. She then began to practice the movements as best as she could. The fighting style was rare as it was difficult to master, and was only usable if mastered. To an outsider Lydia looked almost like she was dancing around with her hands and feet darting out suddenly at random intervals. Her fingers formed a knife like blade instead of a fist and they relied on a precision strike to sensitive areas of an opponent to be effective. Her lack of practice meant she was rusty and she knew her movements were off. She might have looked good as she attacked air, but if she fought a real opponent she would be in trouble. She could revert back to the other easier fighting style she had been taught, but that one would likely evoke the same problems as before. So she would learn to master this one instead, or at least try.

Despite the fact she was practicing a fighting form, it brought a smile to her face. Memories of hours of drill and practice with the old master filled her mind. She missed him, he had been a father to her. He had taken her in and treated her like she was his own. He taught her about the forest, about Pokemon, and the elegant art of self-defense. He seemed to focus more on self-defense despite it being Lydia's least favorite lesson, but now she understood why: He wanted her to be safe. He knew his days were coming to an end, and that Lydia was scared to use her offensive powers. So he drilled her hours on end, and even sparred with her. She always accused him of trying to make her violent, but he continued to make her practice. He was right though, she needed to know how to defend herself for he was not around anymore to protect her.

Finishing up the exercise, Lydia bowed respectfully to the air before folding her legs underneath her body so she could meditate once again. She needed some time to think about what actions she needed to take. She had been protected and hidden away from the world for too long. The other Hybrids were more powerful than her, but their minds were weaker. They resorted to using their strength first, instead of seeking alternatives before attacking. She was the opposite; she only sought alternatives, and had allowed herself to become weak. She needed to seek the balance between the two, strong both in body and mind. To understand when to seek a peaceful solution, but have the strength to strike when she had no other option. She would need to learn from the others as well as herself to find such balance.

Shadow:

Shadow laid in the block of Ice. He thought heard someone follow down the hole, but there was no way to tell. He was hardly alive at this point.

Krokorok quickly responded with a sandstorm, but was stopped by Eevee with a Shadow Ball. Ghost type moves didn't do much to a dark type, but Eevee quickly explained to Krokorok that the boy named Brian was from the group that Shadow was a part of.

The two pokemon watched as the boy tried to heal Shadow. Although it worked to stop the healing, it would soon reopen. Shadow couldn't move and there was no way Krokorok dared move the ice in fear of Shadow shattering with it. Krokorok looked up as stalactites now crumbled from above, falling through the hole form the weakened cave. Krokorok quickly grabbed Brian and threw the boy across the room, out of harms way. Krokorok then used sandstorm and blew Glacieon off to the side. It then caused the sandstorm to spiral into a maelstrom of sand, knocking most of the sharp, falling rocks, away from everyone. One however, was in his blind spot and it crashed through the ice that Shadow was in. It pierced the ice with great force and there was nothing stopping it from stabbing Shadow's stomach. Glacieon quickly used a full powered ice beam to freeze the stalactite in place to avoid it from going all the way through the body of Shadow. The ice cube that Shadow was in, started to turn red from seeping blood from the new wound. The ice was doing its job that Glacieon intended for it to do.

With Brian out of energy, Krokorok afraid of breaking too much of the ice, glacieon unable to do anything else, and lucario and the other stuck in their pokeballs, all the could hope for now was that someone would come along. Someone who was a friend.

Lucario concentrated in his pokeball. Using aura to locate someone. But no one was around. Lucario strained himself with all his might until he found the aura of Arryn. Strangely it was somewhat similar to Shadow's aura. He couldn't figure out why. Maybe because the bond with Arryn was the strongest Shadow had to someone other than to Sara and his pokemon.

'Arryn, this is Shadow's Lucario. I am using telepathy to contact you through aura. Shadow is in bad shape and his life is slipping away. The one you call Brian is also down. He tried to save Shadow and did, but it was stalactites that fell next and pierced Shadow's ice shield that Glacieon had formed. The one named Orchid, I am not currently sure about, but I think she lives. Possibly stunned at what happened. She had not said anything. Please hurry.

Lucario fell to his knees, unable to do anything else for the time. The strain was too great and the power was far too knew to be used efficiently. He wasn't even sure how he had gained the power to do something at such an extreme. The bond between Lucario and Shadow was almost to the max it will possibly ever be.

Deacon Masterson

Deacon was sitting on the stump bored out of his mind waiting for Tulip to respond. He sat there with his head in his hands, looking around for any sign of the others. Deacon sighed and stood up, but then held his arms to his opposite shoulders and shook. "Hey, Tulip. Did it just get cold or is it me??" Deacon asked her. Deacon was suddenly shivering really badly. Deacon looked around and saw that the ground of the edge of the forest began to ice over. Deacon jumped back a little bit. "What the heck?? How is this ice being formed?!" Deacon wondered aloud. Deacon then looked towards the sky and saw something he wasn't expecting. Up above was a giant ship with sails, powered by jet engines, and coming straight toward where Deacon and Tulip were.

"Woah, what the heck is that?!" Deacon wondered aloud again while looking at the ship. The ship edged closer and then stood in the air, hovering about the air above Deacon and Tulip. "Wait, I know that ship! That's the Plasma Frigate! But what is it doing here??" Deacon said while looking at the ship. The Plasma Frigate descended until it was hovering just above the tree line. A giant gangplank came down from the ship and extended to the ground where Deacon was. ???: "I can answer that for you." A mysterious man said as he made his entrance. The man walked out of the hull of the ship and down the gangplank till he was facing Deacon. The man had blonde hair, wore a white lab coat, and had black clothes under the white lab coat. Most notably though he was wearing a blue brace sort of thing that extended from his lab coat to around his head. "I have come here to recruit you to help me with something." The man said.

Deacon looked at the man a couple times before recognizing who he was. "Wait a second. You're Colress of the disbanded Team Plasma! What are you doing here?? And what makes you think I'm going to help you with anything??" Deacon said at the man with hostility. Deacon began to charge his fists with dark aura, about to attack Colress. Colress simply lifted his hand and out of nowhere the three infamous Shadow Triad appeared out of nowhere on three sides of Deacon. Before Deacon could react or defend himself, the shadow triad grabbed a hold of Deacon by each of his arms and his wings at the back of him. The Shadow Triad instantly teleported their selves and Deacon inside the ship to the inner hub control room. Colress looked at Tulip who seemed lost at the situation. "Sorry about this. I will be dropping Deacon off in Ecruteak City where the one named Shadow told you all to go. You can meet him there if you start walking now, it's not that far away in fact." Colress said to her.

Colress walked back up the boardwalk ramp and looked back at the forest, before turning around and lifting his hand up giving the signal. The drawbridge was raised until it was closed onto the ship. After that the Plasma Frigate suddenly used its jet engines to get higher and higher into the air. When it was in the cloud a good distance in the sky, the two jet engines on the back of it powered up and the flying ship could be seen sailing off into the distance. Deacon found himself in Colress' laboratory room aboard the Plasma Frigate while the Shadow Triad were still holding him from escaping. "Let me go!! LET ME GO!!" Deacon said as he squirmed angrily. He roared a hearty dragon roar as the shadow triad were beginning to have trouble holding him in place. Colress walked up to Deacon and stood a couple feet away before talking to him.

"Deacon, why do you think I need your help?? Years ago I wanted to bring out the power in Pokemon and joined Team Plasma to help me do that. They fell apart and disbanded though before Ghetsis and his lackeys joined Team Rocket. I have been trying to bring out the power in Pokemon for years, but to no avail. Now I hear about you hybrid group through intel I have and find out that you are both human and Pokemon. How interesting!! I tell myself my new goal in life shall be to bring out the 'true power' in hybrids!! Now I find the perfect specimen in yourself to try an operational procedure where I will alter your body and make you the strongest hybrid there is. Will you help me in this endeavor, Deacon Masterson??" Colress explains this all to Deacon with a calm, calculated face.

"You say you want to bring out the true power in me since I'm half Pokemon, but how do I know you didn't join Team Rocket as well when Ghetsis did?? This could all be a trick..." Deacon said as he had given up struggling to the Shadow Triad's force. Colress looked at Deacon in the eyes and responded. "Ah, but that you see is where you are wrong! Deacon my boy, I never joined Team Rocket when Ghetsis did because my motives wouldn't get anything out of joining them. I want to discover the secret to maximizing a Pokemon or hybrid's potential to the max as my life goal, not destroy you hybrids like Team Rocket wants to. If I helped Team Rocket and you all got destroyed, wouldn't that make it impossible to use one of you as a test experiment??" Colress said to Deacon using the standard conversational hand gestures.

"I guess you are right, Colress. And I admit I want to become stronger, but where is the safety in this?? And what do I get in return for helping you??" Deacon asked the scientist. "If you want to become stronger, you will from this experiment. I will simply use a new method to change your typing and give you strong moves while using your hybrid DNA to create the perfect fighting machine. The procedure is one hundred percent safe as I have the most cutting edge technology in this day and age." Colress said back to him. "Alright then, Colress.... I'll do it. I'll let you make me stronger and bring out the true power in me..." Deacon said back to him.

"Excellent!!" Now if you could just enter this chamber I have here the procedure will start. Also, I am going to be using two Pokemon to do this. I will need your Salamence and I will be using my Klinklang as well." Colress said to Deacon. Deacon nodded and made a loud whistle noise that only his Dragon Pokemon could hear from far away. For a while nothing was heard, but soon enough a giant flapping of wings was heard and Salamence boarded the Plasma Frigate in the sky. Salamence walked up to Deacon and nuzzled against Deacon, knocking him over. "Haha, hey, Salamence. How are you, buddy?? I need your help with something. Will you help me become more like you??" Deacon said to his Pokemon. Salamence nodded and walked up to the chamber on the left of the triangle and went inside until the doors were closed.

"Great!! Now I will send out my Klinklang! Go, Klinklang! I need you for an experiment!!" Colress said as he took a Pokeball off his belt and threw it into the air. Out came a big stainless steel-looking Pokemon formed of two gears. Klinklang hovered in the air and went inside the chamber on the right of the triangle in Colress's laboratory. It hovered inside until the doors were closed. "Excellent! Now Deacon my boy, if you will enter the southern chamber of the triangle we can begin the experiment!!" Colress said to Deacon. Deacon obliged and walked to the southernmost chamber in the room. Deacon walked inside and the glass doors shut. "Wonderful!! Now we can begin." Colress said aloud. Colress went over to a machine platform in front of the three chambers and pressed some buttons. Two tubes were connected to Deacon's chamber from the other two chambers. After a whirring of electricity came on Colress flipped down a switch and the process began.

"Ahhh!!!!" Deacon screamed inside his chamber as he felt the effects of raw mutation. A green light encased Salamence and Klinklang in their respective chambers, and then shifted through the tubes until it entered Deacon's tube. Deacon continued to scream in pain until the dust cleared and the process was complete. The glass doors opened to all three chambers, and Deacon slowly walked out of his. The new and improved Deacon Masterson had two giant red wings that looked like Salamence wings that were connected to Deacon in his back and were the result of Deacon's earlier black colored wings becoming more like Salamence's through mutation. Deacon's hair was now a gray, shaggy color like Steven Stone's instead of his old red-colored hair. Where Deacon used to have arms and legs were now two bulky mechanical arms and two bulky mechanical legs made of steel. Deacon stumbled a bit and was about to pass out before one of the Shadow Triad caught him. A couple minutes later water was splashed in Deacon's face with a bucket by another Shadow Triad member. The Shadow Triad left the room with Colress and Deacon by their selves seeing as they weren't needed anymore.

"Amazing!! Spectacular!! Stupendous!! I've brought out the true power in you as a hybrid through pure science!!" Colress said giving his signature salute pose. Deacon looked at Colress and then walked to him slowly as a loud thud could be heard each time Deacon put a foot down since his arms, legs, hands, and feet were made of steel now. "Thank you, Colress. I now see that the darkness of my past is gone. I am steel-solid and stronger than before, thanks to you. Your experiment was a success, and didn't have any mind-altering happenings that would cause me to freak out and destroy your lab like what happened in Team Rocket headquarters when I first became a hybrid. I now see that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant to how they act. It is what they choose to do with the gift of life and power that truly defines them. I will redeem myself to the world and help take Team Rocket down." Deacon said to Colress.

"Great. Thank you, Colress. I now see the light and the darkness has left me thanks to your experiment." Deacon said to Colress before walking near the edge of the ship. "You're welcome. Please use your new abilities to their full potential so I know I have brought out the true power in a human and Pokemon at once, a hybrid. We have arrived at Ecruteak City. Thanks for taking part in my experiment. Bye for now! Your friends will meet up with you soon at the dance theater." Colress said to Deacon. "Return, Klinklang. You have done your job well." Colress said as he pressed the middle button on Klinklang's Pokeball and it returned inside it. Deacon's Salamence walked up to beside Deacon as they stood there, waiting. "Thank you, I will, Colress." Deacon said to Colress. The Shadow Triad appeared and grabbed a hold of Deacon and his Salamence, teleporting them to the ground in Ecruteak City.

Colress looked at the two specimens as they left. "I'll be watching you, Deacon..." Colress thought to himself. Deacon and his Salamence were teleported to the ground as the Shadow Triad vanished shortly after, leaving them alone in Ecruteak City. Deacon's Hydreigon, Altaria, Goodra, Dragalge, and Garchomp came out of the grass and walked up to Deacon, admiring his new look. Deacon and his six friends walked up to the dance theater and went inside, grabbing a table with a bunch of chairs for when the others in the hybrid group arrived. In any other circumstance the people in the city and dance theater would be afraid and scared of Deacon and his Pokemon, but they all understood as well as Morty that Ecruteak City as a safe haven for humans, hybrid, and Pokemon alike. Deacon was sitting down as his wings retracted and he drank a sodapop he ordered, out of energy from Colress's experiment. Deacon looked through the glass wall pane outside and noticed that it was getting darker, as well as bit by bit, the green leaves in the forest and wildlife surrounding Ecruteak City were becoming brown little by little.....

Deacon Masterson Hybrid Trainer Typing Change

Deacon Masterson: Steel/Dragon/Flying Types Now that Deacon is a Dragon, Flying, and Steel type he is not weak to many things, but he does have his flaws. For starters he is much, much slower than before, and because of his steel type limbs he can't fly anymore or dance through the air. He can still use his flying-based attacks, just not as fast as before. He also still has one weakness, and that is to Ice types seeing as both his flying and dragon types are weak to it. Deacon hates ice types, and gets scared when they are near him/try to attack him. He calls himself a dragon master, but can't deal with ice types too well, so he tries to avoid them on purpose. Deacon also has weakened endurance now that his body is degrading so much from the added experimentation, and this makes him susceptible to getting hurt badly when a hit is landed on him.

New Hybrid Trainer Appearance: Deacon's body and chemical makeup has been drastically changed from the experiment he volunteered for. The only part of Deacon that looks human his above his legs, his waist, stomach, chest, head, and face. He still wears his triangular shades like before, but his red hair is now gray and looks like Steven Stone's hair. Deacon's old black dark angel wings on his back have been mutated and grown more than twice their size to a red color looking like Salamence wings. Finally, Deacon's arms, legs, hands, and feet have been replaced with mechanical limbs made out of steel as well as mechanical fingers and toes for good dexterity overall.

New Hybrid Trainer Moveset: Fly, Brave Bird, Draco Meteor, Flamethrower, Bullet Punch, and Steel Wing

New Hybrid Trainer Moveset Execution: For in battle to use Fly Deacon will fly higher into the air than his opponent. After waiting for the opponent to make their move, Deacon will dodge it and then zoom down diving slicing into the opponent, damaging them and knocking them back. For Brave Bird, Deacon will fly into the air with his wings. After that he will go low to the ground and then increase his speed to maximum velocity in a Superman position slamming through the opponent as hard as he can. The move does serious damage, but hurts Deacon somewhat when he's done using it. For Draco Meteor Deacon will scream into the air with a dragon type roar with his hands and back extended. Not more than a couple seconds later will hundreds of meteors rain down on the opponent, making it hard to dodge them. While the move is extremely powerful, afterwards it causes Deacon's offensive power to fail harshly. For Flamethrower Deacon will suck in air with his mouth, and then let out a banter of flames at the opponent encasing them in fiery flames. The move also has a chance to burn the opponent as well. For Bullet Punch Deacon will point one of his steel hands into a fist at the opponent and use his other arm to press a button on his first arm. His hand will leave his bulky mechanical arm and fly towards the opponent at a speedy pace until it rams into them and can continue to send them back. After the move is done Deacon's hand will fly back to him using fuel and attach back onto his arm. Bullet Punch has increased speed priority and it happens so fast that it makes it hard to dodge this move. For Steel Wing Deacon will flew into the air, and then dive diagonally down at the opponent as his red wings turn solid grey until he turns at the last moment and rams one of his wings into them. After the move is over and Deacon lands his wings will turn back to normal color red again. On rare occasions after using Steel Wing Deacon's defense will be raised a little bit.

New Hybrid Trainer Mood: Thanks to Colress, the darkness within Deacon has left his mind and body completely, and he is offensively and defensively solid as steel. He also loves being a Dragon and enjoys the freedom of flight.

Orchid

Orchid sat quietly, thinking abot what Shadow had said. She rode the Sawsbuck, staying close to feel the warmth. She said nothing and had really no idea what was going on. She was kinda in a state of shock or something.

What Shadow said... It cant be true. I dont have a life. All I know is evil. I am evil. I should'nt have to change... Love means never having to say you're sorry... I cant be loved. Im rotten to the core.

That was the moment Orchid made her decision. She chose evil. Now she wouldn't be too evil where Tulip and her got kicked out of the group but, still evil. A trouble maker if you will.

Orchid snapped back into reality and looked around.

"Huh...? What happened?" she asked, scowling.

Orchid looked over and saw Shadow in a block of ice and laughed.

"HAHAHAHAHA. THIS LOSER. OH MY GOODNESS." she snickered getting off the Sawsbuck letting it rest. She walked over to the block of ice and kicked it lightly.

"Shit... this may be serious... How do I help him... Maybe my poison can melt the ice. Its done that before..." she said nodding. she placed her purple finger nail on the block of ice letting a steam of poison fall over the ice block. It didn't do much. It melted a little but not enough to help Shadow.

"Okay... Um... Maybe..." she placed her pointer finger in the middle of the block and sent a leech seed into it. The seed wrapped areound the block of ice. It started to absorb some of the cold, so Shadow was a little warmer but still not enough to free him.

"Only one last thing we can try." she said closing her eyes and starting to focus.

"Selene. Help a sistah out." she mumbled touching her heart.

From her heart she pulled a huge mallet made of yellow light. It was huge, however Orchid didn't turn the light into a solid just yet.

"Im going to break the ice and free him. It has to work... It has too."

MEANWHILE...

Tulip sat there with her jaw open as Deacon was abducted by a very handsome man and flown away in a rocket ship. She closed her mouth and frowned at the thought of being alone. She hated being alone. What good was a boyfriend if he was just going to be abducted.

Tulip sent Gardevoir out and hugged the pokemon.

"Can you teleport me to Ecruteak city?"

Why not teleport yourself? The Gardevoir said telepathically. She reached out and grabbed Tulips hands.

Close your eyes and focus on Ecruteak city. If you need to say the word Tropelet over and over again. Ready?

Tulip nodded and closed her eyes focusing. She thought of a lovely botique she had visited in Ecruteak.

"Tropelet... Tropelet...Tropelet..." she whispered, she felt nothing at first.

She looked around and frowned and started to focus even harder. Ecruteak city, repeated in her mind, as she saw the botique in her minds eye.

"Tropelet... Tropelet... Tropelet!" she said a little more confidently. She felt something but she just kept going. The feeling was incredible. It felt like she was being hugged by angels. Her body was warm, and tingily.

Then the feeling just stopped and all she felt was the cold air of Ecruteak city and the excrusiating head ache she had. She fell to the ground, that took quite alot of effort.

You did it Tulip! It took alot out of you, but you'll be okay. The more you work on it. The better you'll get. Gardevoir said happily.

"B-but how?" Tulip was very confused, her vision was clearing up and she stood up, however her head felt awful.

Cant you see what is happening here? You are becoming a psychic type! We have been connected for so long, maybe Im rubbing off on you. the Gardevoir said cheerfully.

Tulip looked around and saw a new botique. She decided that she would go, shop some then try and find the group. She was still processing what she was just told.

"Thats amazing. Well thank you Gardevoir. You may return." Tulip said smiling at the Pokemon. The pokemon bowed and went back inside the pokeball as Tulip went inside the store.

A woman with white hair, sitting at the front looked at her then smiled.

"Hi there! Im Rayna. You're new here I can tell. Well come on back here! You see what I do here is for 100 pokebucks, I give you a beautiful outfit and wig and make you look like a pokemon sort of. Its really neat would you like to try it?" the girl asked.

Tulip almost exploded she was so excited.

"YES, I WOULD LOVE TOO." she screamed running to the back.

Rayna followed her and fixed her up. Working her magic. She then took Tulip back out to the front so she could see herself. She looked beautiful.

"Oh my god! I look beautiful. Thank you so much. I will totally be back!" Tulip screamed running out into the street.

Pokemon
Spoiler:

Brian was lying on the ground, just waking up from his "nap". He felt like he had been sat on by a snorlax. He felt oddly happy though, but he couldn't put his finger on why. He looked around, hoping to remember where he was. Then he saw everything, Orchid and Shadow, and the blood. He gagged.

He felt an odd sensation that made him feel stronger. He looked over at shadow and noticed he had some weird orb. When Brian saw the orb he felt a connection to it. He couldn't explain it. He just knew he had to touch it.

He stretched out his arms and pulled himself along the ground. It was painful, but he felt like he needed to do it. He felt a compulsive urge to grab that orb. He got close enough to the block of ice shadow was encased in and he reached over touching the ice above the orb. He burned his hands bright with fire that was almost tinged blue with heat. He let out a scream as his flame was extinguished for good. The pain was unbearable, he pushed himself way past his limit and he could feel every muscle in his body burn. But it was all worth it when his hand closed on the orb.

Brian vanished. His mind was going wild with crazy thoughts as his body was slowly degrading. He knew he needed immediate medical attention. But even though he was concerned about himself, he couldn't stop thinking about how he had abandoned shadow. He could care less about that annoying girl Orchid, but he felt like shadow had a connection with him. Like Brian meant something to him, like a father. He felt pain, but this time emotional. Shadow reminded him of his dad. He wanted to help, but like his father's death he was useless. Brian then realized where he was, back in the forest. He tilted his head up, crying out in pain as he did so. He saw Lydia, she was the source of the psychic link he felt with the orb. He tried to speak but all that came out was a soft mumble and a small squeak.

Brian wanted to sleep, but he knew if he did so now he would surely die. He wished for a miracle, for both himself and shadow. Then he noticed the cold, his lack of fire typing was confusing to him. He felt the true temperature for the first time in a while. He tried to move but the pain was too much, he turned just enough to face Lydia and whispered out a faint "help".

Arryn; Ice & Dark

Teleportation was nothing new to Arryn since meeting Tulip. Yet when she and Aciri were suddenly standing at the mouth of a cave, Arryn sways on the spot. She scowls when her balance returns. Aciri tilts her head.

"You must be used to this," Arryn steps into the cave, fingers tingling with an odd sensation. Something has happened here. "Teleporting and such. Must be nice."

She feels odd talking to Aciri like she does with Shadow and Madox, but there's no helping it. The company of Pokemon was more welcome than humans, and greatly craved above Hybrids. Pokemon are great. Humans are good. Together? Not a great mix.

Not that far into the cave, Arryn halts as an unfamiliar voice fills her head – Arryn, this is Shadow's Lucario. I am using telepathy to contact you through aura. Shadow is in bad shape and his life is slipping away. Her feet carry her forward immediately, searching for any sign of struggle that could point her towards Shadow.

Arryn picks up her pace as a gaping hole in the floor of the cave up ahead catch her attention.

Please hurry.

"Shadow?" She kneels carefully at the edge, worried the ice will give beneath her weight. Aciri shows the same level of caution as she joins Arryn's side.

Both their bodies, Shadow and Brian's, can be seen from her perch at the edge. As can Orchid's laughing form.
Arryn drops down. She lands ungracefully on her foot and knee, the impact loud and the snow explodes in a mist around her. This is my kind of place. Aciri follows down but lands with more poise than she was capable of.

Orchid's failed attempts to free Shadow from the ice don't go unnoticed and Arryn watches for a beat, curious as to why the witch tries so hard to free him. It won't last long. She will find a new play toy soon enough.

"Move," Arryn waves her aside, placing both her hands on the solid block of ice coated in frost. "Use that mallet and the whole damn thing will crush him."

The ice was solid, unwavering. It would take a large amount of control to crack the block enough that Shadow wasn't hurt in the process, and Arryn didn't trust herself with that level of responsibility just yet. She considered her options and looked back at the curious Vulpix, waiting for an order.

"Melt this halfway, Aciri," Arryn requests of the fire fox and backs away, far enough that the flames wouldn't be an issue. Fire and I are not a combination that goes well.

Aciri stands at a safe distance and uses a carefully constructed stream of fire to lick at the ice, coaxing it to melt. Water trickles down the sides as the ice thins. Arryn holds her breath as the fire gets closer and closer to Shadow.

"Enough, ok, you did good," Arryn steps forward, and then backwards immediately when the heat reaches her.

Lydia's Vulpix halts her actions, seemingly pleased with the progress she made on the block and Arryn inwardly curses herself for not bringing along her shard of ice. It has never been this far before, but I can still feel it. I can do this.

Melting ice wasn't easy for her – Water types excelled with that, as she knew one for her short time in Celadon. The two often 'played' with their powers, back when Arryn didn't care for who created her into some twisted mutant. I wonder if she was aligned with Team Rocket, too. Was my time with those three a complete waste of my time?

Arryn shakes away the unsettling thoughts that aren't clearing her mind; she would need the utmost control to free Shadow without further complications. Arceus forbid I hurt him when all he has done is save me countless times.

She inhales, pressing her fingertips into the ice first, getting a feel for the solid and weaker parts of the surface. Around his waist was the most solid part, which she had to be careful around. She focuses on his torso and exhales, urging the ice to weaken further. It gives, small cracks splitting the exterior.

Pressing her fingertips down, the ice around his chest gives. She concentrates on breaking those bits away, freeing his upper chest and head.

"Shadow? Can you hear me?" He must be cold enough already, I shouldn't touch him. Arryn chews on her lip, troubled and kneels down to concentrate her efforts around his legs.

Starting with her fingertips, she inhales and exhales as she did with his torso, now working into pressing her entire palms into the surface. The ice cracks with the sound of thunder, as if lightning just struck close by and it startles her, enough that she wrenches away from the block, afraid of causing damage.

Fortunately, the crack broke a large piece of solid ice away from his left leg, but his right thigh was being threatened by a sharp stalagmite, caused by her own doing. If that gets his artery, it's game over. Her next breath is more to steel herself for the possible outcome if she fucks this up.

"I expect extreme gratitude if I manage to get you out of this, Shadow," she mumbles, resuming her position with one hand braced on the ice and the other wrapped around the dangerous icicle.

With a sharp, quick movement, she snaps the icicle away from his artery and it clatters to the ground. That could not have gone any better – and something tells her that she used all her luck up for the day.

"Brian," Arryn glances over at the boys' still body and shakes his arm gently, attempting to rouse him awake.

Lydia

Lydia was in her meditation position sleeping when Brian teleported next to her. His sudden appearance via teleport woke up the lightly sleeping Lydia, and her tired eyes slowly opened. By the time Brian asked for help, Lydia's hands had already begun to glow as she started to heal his body. Using her mental abilities Lydia sent energy into Brian's body reinforcing its efforts to heal itself and helping to focus and direct its efforts. The energy flowed over his body like a flame focusing on areas of the gravest wounds first before spreading to other areas. At the same time her psychic powers played modified his mind's ability to communicate by blocking off his pain receptors from his brain so he could not feel the pain caused by his rapid healing.

The boy was wounded, scared, and drained; Lydia had felt this many times before from healing Pokemon so it did not break her calm demeanor. Calmly reaching further into Brian's mind, Lydia mentally spoke to him to keep his mind off his current condition, "Hello, I do not think we have been formally introduced, If we have I am sorry it has been so chaotic over the last few hours such memories must have been lost. I am Lydia. I hope my telepathic method of communication does not scare you. I was born with a deformity that has prevented me from using normal speech for as long as I remember."

Smiling Lydia continued while looking perfectly calm and collected, "Your wounds will be healed shortly. I have seen much worse and healed it. I know you joined the group not too long ago, and I am sorry for not conversing with you sooner, but I was upset earlier. I try not to lose control of my emotions as it can be dangerous for me, so I had to focus on the main issues that concerned me at that time as well as trying to calm down. Now that is enough about me… let us talk about you. If you cannot speak yet that is fine, you can just shake your head, or you can try to communicate telepathically. If you do not know how I can teach you if you like."

Shadow:

Lucario felt what he could from inside his pokeball. Starting to become annoyed with the fact that he couldn't do anything. He would talk to Shadow about what Lydia said after he had recovered. Lucario couldn't muster up enough energy to use telepathy with the girl who seemed to be close to Shadow. Lucario was surprised in the fact that even Orchid tried to help, yet Brian had left.

Lucario though Brian had been part fire type. He could have used fire to help melt away the ice, while giving some energy to Shadow. With Shadow's flash fire ability, he could have absorbed the flames and possibly even healed. All he could do now was try to rouse Shadow.

'Idiot! Wake up! Arryn is here! Everyone is trying to save you while you do nothing, but sleep! Wake up or I will punch you in the gut again!' Lucario used telepathy from inside the ball.

__________________________________________________________________________

Glacieon watched the master ice user. Observing on how she could help the new human. After a moment Glacieon walked over to Arryn. The pokemon wrapped around her leg in gratitude. And then Glacieon attempted the same thing Arryn had done, but at a much smaller scale, only freeing where the pokeballs sat. Krokorok then walked over to unfreeze the pokeball with its warm breath. Lucario and Sneasil were the only ones to emerge. As Noivern didn't like ice at all. at least not surrounded by it.

__________________________________________________________________________

Lucario emerged from the pokeball next to the Sneasil that was a gift to the girl. Lucario could see Arryn's work. He put a slight paw on Shadow exposed check. He studied carefully. If that ice was to melt completely, without healing, Shadow would die. He looked around for the one named Brian, but he had gone.

'Shadow, you need to freaking wake up. Like now! Arryn, Glacieon, Krokorok, Sneasil and even Orchid are trying to help you. I am sure Noivern would as well, but he is tired and extremely week to ice. Now wake up you freaking idiot! Brian left. So you have to take an active role.'

_________________________________________________________________________

Lucario's voice boomed in Shadow's head.

Seriously Lucario... that mean... but that is how you are. Guess when you have been as close as we have been, you tend to do things like that and laugh, taking no real offense from it.

Through the Ice, he could since a warm touch, but it wasn't warm. It was an icy touch, but to him it was warm. A different warmth that wasn't fire or the sun.

He tried to move, but couldn't. He realized he was frozen. Thanks to quick thinking of Eevee... no Glacieon now.

"I expect extreme gratitude if I manage to get you out of this, Shadow." Arryn said, yanking an ice spoke away from somewhere on his body.

He thought he heard a different name, one she tried to help, "A...Arryn.... Brian le....le...left....t...t....to....too...took the orb Ly....Ly....Lydi....Lydia gave m....m...me." Shadow managed to say, shivering, freezing.

'Your awake! Shadow! You need to manage so type of warmth... wait.... One moment.' Lucario's telepathy said.

Not the best time Lucario! I don't have a moment! Shadow thought, he opened his eyes. Seeing Arryn

Arryn.... By the pokemon gods.... I am so glad to see you... Shadow had another thought.

______________________________________________________________________

Sneasil, realizing that this was probably the girl the boy had mentioned, walked over to the girl is put a hand on her legs with his broken claw, offering his help. Sneasil was now happy that he finally go to meet this girl. And the human had not lied. They were both alike. Much more than Sneasil originally had thought.

____________________________________________________________________

Lucario walked over to the vulpix, knowing it was a fire type. He would have told the girl, but he no longer had the power to use telepathy at all. So new a skill, he had already over used it. He was tired. For a slight moment, Lucario talked to the vulpix. Which had told him that the trainer was not her's, nor did she have one, but would take a suggestion if needed.

Lucario looked at Arryn and Orchid. He walked to were Orchid now was. He didn't care how a human was, as long as she wasn't a threat, at least she didn't seem to be right now. Lucario bowed in a japanese fashion and turned. He summoned a bone rush, but not to attack.

Lucario wasn't sure how humans spelled. So instead he fried to draw a scenario in he ice cave wall, but solid enough where it wouldn't fall.

He drew a flame on the wall and then an arrow pointing at the block of ice that was being worked on that contained Shadow. He then walked to Arryn and tapped on her shoulder, ''Cario Lucario cario.' Lucario said, pointing at the at the wall. The flame and then the arrow point at the ice cube.

Pokemon
Spoiler:

Before Brian even knew what was happening she was healing him. He felt no pain as his entire body tingled, like the nerves were unable to communicate with his brain. He attempted a smile. It didn't work as he intended, as parts of his face were numb from the healing. Half of his mouth smiled while the other half just hung there. It was probably an odd sight, good thing he didn't have a mirror.
He was surprised when he heard a voice in his head.
"Hello, I do not think we have been formally introduced, If we have I am sorry it has been so chaotic over the last few hours such memories must have been lost.

He was feeling better already. "How can I learn how to talk like that?" he rasped "I'm not psychic" He started to think that this girl was crazy. But then he remembered his dreams and how he teleported. "Am I psychic?" He asked, his voice almost normal.

He sat up and looked around. He noticed his note still sitting on the tree. "They, didn't even notice I was gone?" He looked at Lydia, then he said "It doesn't matter anymore, I'm just going to Ecruteak city. It's been stressful for everyone, it doesn't surprise me that they didn't notice my note." Even though he said he didn't care, he did feel hurt. He started to walk away, but he turned around and looked at Lydia. "I'm sorry, I've been acting weird for a while now. I just can't seem to get used to being a Hybrid. If I've been mean to you at all, I'm sorry."

He sat down again, he was worried about Shadow and was embarrassed that he left.

"I, left him. He could be dying and it's all my fault"

Brian stared at the ground, moving the dirt around with his finger. Then he stood up, crying as he ran towards Ecruteak city.

Orchid

Orchid felt all the kindness in her heart die as she heard Arryns voice.

"Move, Use that mallet and the whole damn thing will crush him."

"Then maybe I should use it to crush you." she watched with her arms crossed, as Arryn came to Shadows help.

"Now you move. He could use someone not made of Ice to help him." she turned to mallet into a blanket and put it over Shadow.

Orchid didn't say anything as Shadow stood up. She didn't know what was happening but she didn't even care. Shadow didn't even thank her. She tried to help him even if she failed.

Orchid marched over to the Sawsbuck and jumped on its back. She snapped and the Sawsbuck took off. It raced down the caves of the Ice cave leaving Arryn, Brian, and Shadow there.

"Adios bitches!" she screamed. The Sawsbuck took her all the way back and too the front of the cave.

"Thank you so much... You can go." she said smiling. The Sawsbuck licked her cheek and trotted away.

Orchid sighed and started walking to who knows where. She walked for a while until she saw a young man. He was a cute guy but he had a peice of paper that interested her.

"Hi there." she said batting her eyelashes snatching the paper. The boy looking at her body, almost drooling.

She read the flyer. It was for the Autumn Festival, a double battle tournament huh? She would have to sign up for this but she needed some Pokemon.

She kept walking the feeling of Tulips aura getting stronger as she walked. She looked at the trees and the the dirt and wished she would've had that Sawsbuck or something to carry her around.

Then she saw some ugly, butch looking bitch walking up. The girl scoffed when walking past her.

"I think the strip clubs the other way." The butch bitch said.

Orchid stopped spinning around and glaring at her.

"You shouldn't mess with people. There are VERY dangerous people around." Orchid said with a smirk whispering something then touching her chest.

She pulled the mallet from earlier back out and smirked at the girl, a look of crazy in Orchids face.

The girls eyes widened as Orchid pulled out the weapon made of light. Like a flash Orchid dashed towards the girl and hit her in the ribs with the huge mallet. The girl flew and hit a tree falling to the ground.

Orchid let out an evil laugh straight from a Disney movie and skipped over to the girl. She checked the girl out and found 4 poke balls. She smirked taking them and leaving her with one.

Orchid skipped away an into the forrest near Ecruteak City.

She took Pokemon number one and sent it out of its Pokeball.

A Scolipede was the first Pokemon.

She opened the second Pokeball.

It was an Arbok. Strong, Poison types. Just her type of Pokemon.

The third Pokeball.

It was a Malamar.

She smiled and sent the forth Pokemon out.

It was a Toxicroak.

This Butch Bitch had some amazing Pokemon.

"Hello Pokemon. I am your new master. My name is Orchid. Please Obey me. Im just like you. We will be the strongest." Orchid said smiling. She created a poisonus bubble in her hand to prove she was like them. The Pokemon all looked at each other and decided that they would obey Orchid. She seemed like a good enough trainer.

Orchid smiled sitting down with the Pokemon.

MEANWHILE...

"Hello my name is Serena! I am a Gardevoir! I look human you say? No, this is magic. If I was a human I couldn't do this could I?" she smiled speaking. She pointed her finger at a near by tree and a weak psybeam came out of her finger. The crowd Ooed and Awed and put money into her container. She took the money and put it into her purse smiling.

She skipped, wondering where she was supposed to meet everyone. She went into a near by store and bought a new C- gear. Tulip thought she could just use this to call Shadow and ask but it was a new C-gear, she didn't have his number. She sighed sitting down as kids smiled at her as they walked past.

"I guess Ill just go shopping." Tulip said walking into the nearest store.

Cubchoo

[PokeCommunity.com] Darker than it Seems... [IC]

Cubchoo ran through the cave, his paws slipping on the ice. He fell numerous times, but he kept going. He saw the light at the mouth of the cave, and then stopped. He grew up in this cave, he knew every inch. There were spots on the wall that were larger than usual.

"Cubchoo!" he yelled, in a short while two large Abomasnow came to him. They both asked him what was wrong. He replied with his discovery and they both went to investigate.

"Snow, Snow" One said, he had started to dig at the wall next to one. The explosive detonated. "SNOWWW!" it screamed in pain, however it was still standing strong. The other decided to throw a bolder at the other lumps of ice, detonating them one at a time while the other Abomasnow held the roof to prevent a cave-in.

Cubchoo thanked them and ran off, signaling to the flying pidgeotto and yelling to explain what happened. "Cubchoo, choo!" "Pidgeyotto!" They yelled back and forth until Pidgeotto agreed to take cubchoo to Rex. Just as they took off they noticed an odd-looking girl run out of the cave.

Lydia

"Yes, I can feel the energy in your mind, but…" Lydia started to respond before Brian noticed the note. She calmly watched him as he talked then started to walk away. When he returned and mentioned he was not used to being a Hybrid, Lydia smiled warmly at him, "It is a difficult thing for our bodies to accept as these powers are not natural. They interrupt the balance of our bodies and minds we were born with. We all struggle with the unbalance, but everyone deals with it differently. Most embrace it the wrong way and let it dominate and define them fully."

The other Hybrid didn't seem to be heeding her words as his fears and worry dominated his mind. He then mentioned Shadow and as Lydia formed an answer he stood up and ran off. Shaking her head slowly she said to him as he ran away, "You need to learn how to control your emotions and not let them control you. If you need help… find me. For now I must wait here until the others return."

Looking up, Lydia looked at the darkening skies as she her mind drifted in her head, 'Balance… is it even possible for us? I wonder, does each of us struggle with a basic instinct that these powers feed into our inner turmoil: anger, fear, lust, or pride? I know I have all four, but my biggest struggle currently is fear. It prevents me from fully accepting myself. If I conquer that, will another take its place as the dominate negative emotion? Of course positive and negative are needed for true balance so I cannot rid myself of such things fully. I wish you were still around… you always helped me when I needed it. I am not ready for this, and I do not think I ever will be mentor.'

Shadow & Arryn:

Arryn heard multiple explosions from above, afraid that the cave was about to crash down on all of them. She watched the massive hole, to her relief nothing fell. She watched as Glacieon had done the same thing she had done, but Glacieon's was a much smaller area.

She watched as other events happened and a Sneasil walked over to her,

"Umm, hello little guy. You have a broken claw and scars. Me and you are a lot of like. I would have loved to have captured one myself. We even have some matching scars. Too bad no one seems to notice them now days, but too much has happened I guess. Shadow has a good choice in pokemon. Even though his dark typing is gone, which makes me slightly mad, but oh well. Nice to meet you, I'm Arryn." The Sneasil smiled back at her, seeming to like her.

Arryn studied everything on Shadow, to her relief, Shadow spoke and she listened.

"Ar....arr...arr....arian.... arryn... f....f....fi....fi....fir.....fire." Shadow shivered.

"Shut up you idiot. I should really hurt you for getting yourself into something like this. If me or you weren't at less than half our energy, I would punch you in the head. You owe me. I am trying to figure out how to get you out of this.... let....me.... oh fire..." Arryn said in a serious voice, but also a caring one. Worried that she may kill Shadow by accident.

Arryn felt a paw on her shoulder and turned to see Lucario. Lucario point to the wall. She studied the illustration. It was a flame with an arrow point in the direction of the Shadow cube.

"Ugh more fire... but wouldn't that hurt Shadow? Unless... did he also gain an ability to help battle fire?" Arryn asked.

Lucario nodded. With a deep sigh, Arryn turned to the Vulpix... "I am sorry Vulpix, I forget your name, but would you please use a flame attack on the ice please? Don't worry about burning Shadow... he probably deserves it for making me come all the way out here even though I love it."

Vulpix nodded and used fire. The fire engulfed Shadow. Shadow could feel his body absorbing the heat and slowly healing himself. He could feel the ice melting away and the ability to move. Luckily his clothing did not burn off.... otherwise this would be extremely embarrassing for him and he would probably die. Finally after a while, his body was freed and very little of his strength returned. He tried to get up, but the ice was too slick and he fell multiple times. It didn't help the fact that he was still hurting from the betrayal and pain in his chest and stomach.

One last time, he forced him self up further. He started to shake and wobble. Slowly he got to his feet, but he slipped. He started to fall forward, but with a quick reaction, Arryn managed to get in front of him and catch him.

"Arryn... thank you..." Shadow said.

"Don't thank me yet dummy. We still need to get out of here." Arryn said.

After managing to get his footing, with the help of Lucario and Arryn. He pulled out Sneasil's pokeball. He stopped Arryn.

"Arryn... here... this is Sneasil's poke ball. I came here to catch you one and to see if Eevee wanted to evolve. This... This is thanks for allowing me in the group. Allowing me to stay... and now saving me."

"But Sh-" Arryn started, but was cut off when Shadow shook his head.

"No. We are even Arryn. But I must warn everyone... we can no longer trust people outside of the group. I trusted a friend today, and although there seemed to be regret from her, she nearly killed me. I can no longer be a voice of reason and no one should. We do what needs to be done and we survive." Shadow said, putting the pokeball in Arryn's hand.

Arryn just nodded, "Thank you. Now let us get out of here... today has been so long.... I hope tomorrow will be calm."

"Agreed, probably the worst birthday ever." Shadow said, not meaning to.

"Birthday?" Arryn turned to Shadow, "Today is your birthday?"

Shadow blinked, "Yeah... I guess I didn't tell anyone."

"You are so stupid. Why do guys have to think they have to do everything alone? Especially on their birthday? We could have celebrated, but I guess it would have been destroyed... just like the house..." Arryn rolled her eyes.

"We do stupid things and want to do it alone. Some want to just be alone and don't care about anyone, but themselves. While others...." Shadow paused, "While others do it so that those that he cares for doesn't get hurt." Shadow finished.

With that, their was no more talk. They silently made their way through the cave. It was impossible to go the other direction, so instead, the went toward the Blackthorn City entrance, but on the way. All the pokemon stopped and looked at a weak wall. They all nodded and started to dig together, creating a totally different tunnel that lead to a secrete grove that few humans even see. As they exited into the night time, the pokemon collapsed the entire path they had just made so no human would ever find the entrance with out spending hundreds of hours doing so. Glacieon and Sneasil both launched ice type attack and froze the tunnel solid.

Shadow looked up, and his mouth dropped. Arryn did the same as they both supported one another to stay standing. They looked at a scene that look so unreal that it was impossible to even think it existed. There was massive cedar and pine trees, covered in snow that had many types of pokemon. The snow created by the temperature of the Ice Cave. Snow softly drifted down so gently that it was so very calm. A hot spring was in the center where a quadruped pokemon stood and looked at them. It's eyes pulsed with peace and tranquility. The pokemon had a long mane that looked black in the night. The pokemon glimmered like a glacier in a full moon. It howled a musically, soft tone and then disappeared with the north wind.

It was then a Froslass pokemon appeared and with great power, it talked to the two hybrids with telepathy that only a very strong Froslass could ever muster.

'This is a place only few humans or hybrids have seen. A secrete from humanity, untraceable by any means. You two have shown the light in your heart, by helping those around you. You may not be perfect nor completely pure. But the guardian of the north wind has watched you. And would like to give thanks by showing you this great area. No human or hybrid can find this forest, nor can they stay here and it is unlikely that you will ever be able to return. This world is much darker than it seems and in time, the world will need to work together to overcome a greater threat foreseen by countless pokemon. And the world will turn to the hybrids.' Froslass waited.

"Tell the Guardian of the North Wind thank you for letting us to see this." Arryn said.

Shadow was still speechless as the snow reflected the stars and moon that peaked through clouds. A tug came at his belt, and without permission, Krokorok took tapped an empty pokeball and clicked in 1 shake. Shadow smiled as he had added a new friend to his team.

'Now, you must leave. Let me give one last gift in return, a free ride back to where the one of the forest remains. No human or hybrid will ever return here. Not in a very long time.' Froslass announced, eyes glowing.

Both Shadow and Arryn looked at the almost mythical place one final time before appearing in front of Lydia and Brian. All pokemon present, including the Vulpix.

"My god.... finally.... It is warm again... There is one thing I am certain of.... I will never forget this birthday.... ever...... So very much has happened, it is almost unbearable. I am so tired and hungry... ugh Lydia..... please please please.... teleport us to Ecruteak City so I can rest... so we can rest..." Shadow pleaded.

Arryn and Shadow still supporting one another, both completely and utterly exhausted from the night before and the day that will ever be seen as one hellish birthday in Shadow's eyes.

Jack Frost

Jack was taking a nap for awhile while Melody was sleeping at the bunker across from himself inside Team Rocket Headquarters' Barracks. Jack was dreaming. He wanted to dream about Melody, but unfortunately he was dreaming about something very different. He was dreaming about the one named Deacon Masterson, and finally being able to kill him. Jack disliked Deacon very much and wanted to either see him in chains or dead. Jack knew it would have to wait though. Team Rocket didn't have any plans for the next day. After snoring really loudly Jack woke up and opened his eyes a couple times. He looked around. The barracks looked dark, far too dark. Jack slowly got up and shook the covers off of him. He went over to a window on one side of the barracks and opened it.

"Ah...that breeze is nice..." Jack thought to himself as he sniffed the fresh, cold night air. It fueled him as well. Jack was sniffing the air when a flyer was flying through the air. In stereotypical joking fashion the flyer happened to flutter towards the window and hit Jack in the face. "Ack!! Ack!!" Jack said as he stumbled while shutting the window with a piece of paper attacking him. Jack took the paper off his face with one hand and then read it. It was a flyer for an upcoming Autumn Festival taking place in Ecruteak City. There was supposed to be some nice, fun events going on and lots of people dressing up for it as well. "Ooh, an Autumn Festival! I better go find a costume if I want to attend it myself..." Jack said out loud. He walked over to Melody and shook her, waking her up. "Melody, look! Read this flyer! I'm off for now, I'll be in Ecruteak City if you want to catch up!" Jack said to her. He shoved the flyer into her hands and ran off.

Jack ran off into the cold, night air like a giddy child, outside the Team Rocket Headquarters. Jack kept running until he got tired of it and began to walk the rest of the way. Jack kept walking until he made it to the clothes shop in Goldenrod City. Jack walked inside. It looked nice, like a stereotypical clothes shop with a counter, a person at it, a dressing room to the left and right of the counter, and TONS of costumes on the racks to choose from. Jack kept looking around until he found the perfect costume. It was an Abomasnow costume, and would hide his identity completely while at the festival. Jack picked it up and took it to the counter. "So, would you like to buy this costume I'm guessing?? It's very nice, and stitched well too." The clerk said to him. "Yes please." Jack said to her. Jack paid for the costume, and then used the dressing room to change into it.

Jack came out of the dressing room dressed up like he looked like an Abomasnow. Jack shook his costume which dropped powder fake snow as an added feature each time he shook. He had a white overall over his body and face, as well as green gloves and boots covering his arms and legs. He was also wearing a pair of shades he picked up at the store. "I love it! Thanks so much!" Jack said as he ran out the door and waved to the clerk. Jack then walked into the night air and took out a Pokeball from his belt. He threw it into the air, and out came a Heracross buzzing in the air. "Heracross, take me to Ecruteak City please." Jack said to his Pokemon. Heracross thought Jack looked funny, but obliged as Jack hopped onto Heracross's back, and Heracross flew into the night air. Jack was riding Heracross through the sky for awhile until they descended and landed in Ecruteak City. Jack returned his Pokemon, and then looked around. It looked like the Autumn Festival was already being set up. Jack went to the dance theater and rented out a room to sleep for the night, since they were accepting people from all over the region and other regions to stay until the Festival started. Jack snuggled up on his bed and once again drifted into a deep sleep, hoping to dream about Melody. He wanted to dream about her. He didn't. Instead he dreamed of something much, much darker....

Deacon Masterson

Deacon Masterson waited with a bored face at the table he had reserved for the hybrid group at the dance theater in Ecruteak City. "Hmm, if I'm going to participate in the Autumn Festival I'm going to need a costume... I already look like a Salamence, so why not that?" Deacon thought to himself. He got up from the table and walked outside, letting the host know before leaving that he would still like that table reserved for his friends. Deacon walked into the night air and came across the local clothes shop in Ecruteak City. Deacon walked into the clothes shop and marveled at the inside. The shop had the stereotypical clerk, counter, dressing rooms to the left and right of the counter, and lots of racks set up with clothes and costumes.

Deacon looked around a while until he found the perfect costume for himself. It was a Salamence one, and would cover his metal arms, legs, hands, and feet. It also came with a pin-tail that Deacon could use to pin the fake Salamence tail to the back of his pants, green jacket, black gloves, black pants, and green boots for himself. Other than that there were wings that it came with, but Deacon discarded those since he technically had real Salamence wings already. Deacon walked up the counter and put it on the desk. "So, this is the one you want, huh?? Okay." The clerk said to Deacon. Deacon jumped happily and paid for the costume. Deacon went into the male dressing room and changed into the Salamence costume. After finishing changing, Deacon left the fitting room and marveled at his new costume he was wearing. He looked cool he thought as well. "Thanks so much! I love it!" Deacon said as he ran out the clothes shop door, waving to the clerk. Deacon walked back to the Dance Theater and notified them his friends would be arriving soon. Deacon walked inside and sat at the table he had reserved for his hybrid friends, drinking more of the sodapop he purchased from earlier.

Lydia

Lydia looked up at the pair for a second before standing up. Smiling a little, Lydia began to form four spheres as her telepathic voice entered their heads, "Good to see you three are alive. I think we could all use some rest after all that has happened." She then released the orbs and they floated to each of the three hybrids and Aciri, engulfing them in a bright light. A second later they were in the middle of the city, with some startled people standing around them. Telepathically speaking only the Hybrids and Aciri Lydia said in an uneasy voice, "I meant to teleport us to the outskirts of the city… well at least I did not teleport anyone into anything. I need to me more careful when teleporting places I have not been."

Looking around Lydia forced a smile at the people around them as she continued talking to her companions in a still shaken voice, "Here is some strength to help you two get somewhere to rest." Lydia secretly sent strength into Arryn and Shadow to help them reach their destination. The small stream of magic would be hard to for anyone to spot as Lydia was uneasy using her powers in front of normal humans. "Please lead the way, I have been in the wild far too long, and do not know where one might find a place to sleep in a city," said Lydia her voice showing her discomfort with her new surroundings as well as her discomfort with how inaccurate her teleport had been.

Deacon Masterson

Deacon looked at his watch and realized that his friends should be here any minute now. He walked outside to check if anything was happening, and saw Lydia, Shadow, Arryn, and Brian teleported smack dab in the middle of the city. "Well, looks like they're here... Though they could have teleported somewhere safe instead of the middle of civilization for peak's sake..." Deacon thought to himself. Deacon walked over to the group until he was in front of them and looked at them. "Hey, guys! Where have you been?? It's me, Deacon. Geez, Arryn and Shadow, what happened to you two?? It seems like every time I encounter you two you look beat up.... Come, come. Follow me guys. I have a table reserved for us inside the dance theater." Deacon said to them. Deacon lead the group to the Dance Theater, past the host and inside to a table with chairs for each of them. "There's also rooms available for rent to sleep for the night here at the dance theater, in case you guys were wondering..." Deacon added.

Melody Hendricks

Melody wakes up when Jack shakes her, making half-hearted sounds of protest.

"Melody, look! Read this flyer! I'm off for now, I'll be in Ecruteak City if you want to catch up!" She blinks in confusion, looking at the clock as Jack runs off. "12:34? Why's he up so early?" She looks at the flyer in her hands, bolting upright. "O-M-G-O-S-H! I almost overslept!"

She rolls out of bed, levitating herself just inches above the ground. She removes the loose floorboards under her bed, revealing the duffel bag hidden safely away, containing everything she'd need to pull this off. She resists the urge to giggle in anticipation, silently floating off to the Hybrids' locker room to prepare...

☆☆Later!☆☆

She had saved the hardest part for last, especially considering how drastic the change is. She looks over her handiwork in a mirror, practically glowing. Her long black hair is now an icy blue, though her natural pink stripes had been dyed an even lighter blue. She frowns at that, wondering why her hair color is so strange, but she is starting to like the two-tone color. Now comes the tricky bit: styling her hair into those curly things.

She works at it for a while, before deciding not to bother. Her hair is simply too long, and she refuses to cut it short. "Oh well! I'm sure everyone will understand what I'm going for." She just ties her hair back into her usual ponytail, although her usual red hair tie clashes with her new blue look. But it's her favorite tie, and she's feeling rebellious. Everything else is so bright and blue. Blue shoes, blue socks, blue skirt and underwear, with a creme-colored blouse and gray jacket. Finally, a little gray backpack with soft spikes on it, to mimic the shell. She makes sure her microphone is hidden from view, strapped to her thigh. She doesn't plan on using it, but she's not letting anyone take it from her again.

Spoiler:

Finally, her costume is complete! Now nothing will stand in her way! "Ecruteak City, here I come! Time to rock this town, Melody style!" Gathering the rest of her things, she takes the early bus to Ecruteak, excited for the Autumn Festival.

Pokemon
Spoiler:

Brian kept running until he saw the edge of Ecruteak city. He slowed to a walk, looking around to see if he could spot anyone else. He didn't notice anyone right away, but he did notice some fliers blowing around. He also spotted some taped onto the lampposts. He walked over to one and glanced at the poster. It was an advertisement for an Autumn Festival. He then noticed the flocks of tourists. Some were in costume, others weren't, but most of them either had a costume or were already wearing it.

Brian laughed as a little boy dressed up as a pyroar ran up to him and growled. Brian pretended to be scared and the boy ran away giggling. Hmm, maybe I should get a costume, he thought. Brian walked over to a costume store and entered. Imediatly the clerk yelled out to him.

"Hey! Welcome to the Costume store! Are you looking for something specific?"

Brian shook his head and smiled, then he walked over to the racks and started looking for a costume. He saw so many different pokemon costumes. But he knew which one he wanted when he saw it.

"I'll take this one" He said pointing to an eevee costume.

"Ooh, great choice! That's 100 pokedollars."

'WHAT!" Brian exclaimed

"Well, when you wait until the last minute the prices go up."

"Nevermind, I'd be cheaper to make it myself!"

Brian thought about that last line. Hmm, maybe he should make one himself. He left the store, and went to a craft supply store. He bought a bunch of materials for his costume and a backpack, his total purchase coming to 47 pokedollars. He smiled as he checked out, taking his materials and leaving the store. He walked over to an area where some people were conversing and sat down, starting to make his costume in the middle of the city. When he finally finished he put it on, with all the commotion nobody even noticed him making his costume. He walked over to a window and looked at his reflection, not bad. It wasn't as good as the costume in the store, but it was close and less than half the price.

He started to search around for his friends, not sure what to do himself. He thought he would never find them when Lydia, Arryn, and Shadow appeared in the middle of the city! He ran over to them, just as he noticed Deacon walk over too. Now all they were missing was Rex, Tulip, and Orchid.

Spoiler:

Phoena:

Phoena turned in the image to her boss that she had received the job from. Her face obviously showed sadness in what she had done, but in her head, she hoped for Shadow to have survived, although it would have been nearly impossible.

"So it is done then? I got to say, I am surprised. I worried the job would never be done. Not only how quickly you found him, but also the way you have finished the job. He is dead correct?" The employer asked, still doubt in the words.

Phoena narrowed her eyes, "I was told to put him in the ground and that is what I did! Do you honestly dare think I would lie? Do you doubt my own work?"

"No Miss Phoena, not at all. Here is the money. I suggest maybe going to the Autumn Festival. To clear your mind. I know it must have been hard to do what you did."

Phoena took in the words, "We will see."

Phoena left the building. The hills and mountains north of the Lake of Rage were now covered in snow from the drastic change in 1 day than what should even be possible in the pokemon world. But in the pokemon world, it only took a single day for the season to change when they are supposed to. What was green now, would be orange, yellow and red tomorrow.

She had always wanted to go to the Autumn Festival, but she had hoped it would have been with Shadow. It broke her heart knowing that she did what she had to on his birthday. She wondered what she would dress up like, but at the time, it was not known.

Shadow:
Back in Ecruteak City, everyone had grabbed something to eat at the Dance Theatre and who ever wanted a room go one. Shadow had locked himself away from everyone else for the remainder of the night. Needing to go over everything that had happened. He wished everyone a good night and walked into his room. It was a room for himself and that he was glad. He didn't have to bother or be bothered by the others.

All of his pokemon were out of their pokeball now, sleeping. All, but one, Lucario. Recovered a small amount of energy, Lucario was able to use telepathy to a small degree.

'Shadow, we need to talk.' Lucario's voice entered his head.

Shadow turned away form the rabidly changing scenery outside to look at Shadow.

"Yes?"

'I believe you need to free us form the poke balls. When we were in them, the pokeball were frozen shut. We couldn't come out when we wanted to. I could have helped a lot easier.'

"I see. I think Lydia is right. Having pokemon restrained in a poke ball is not the right away of action. But what If I need to protect you all? I don't want you getting hurt." Shadow said.

'Do not worry for us. Even if a dangerous activity came up, do you think we would sit ideally in the poke balls anyway? We would have come out regardless of your command to help you.'

Shadow looked outside as the time turned to 10pm.

"I guess your right." Shadow said with a smile.

Shadow took out the poke balls and placed them on the floor. And looked at them. With a deep breath, his brought his foot up and smashed them with his foot. His pokemon were no longer bonded to him and were now free. But they did not leave. They all simply looked at him and smiled and nodded.

The sun sets................ The sun starts to rise........... The new IC Day has now started. Everyone has went to sleep in Ecruteak City or is on their way. All events will be controlled by Me or Shattered.

Shadow looked time as his eyes opened. Not much light was filtering in.

5 a.m.

He got out of his bed and opened the curtain. The sun had no yet risen, but would slowly start rising. Events would not start till 9 a.m. So there was time to get ready, get something to eat and hang about.

Shadow was sure that he was the first one up, not yet having an outfit. He was going to speak to Morty the night before, but he was way too tired to do so. Shadow took drink of water, which he was glad he could still drink. He threw his legs over the side of his bed and sat there for a moment. He looked at his pokemon who were all still sleeping, together. He started to change into more casual clothing that he would walk around in his own home in, waiting for the others to wake.

Valkyrie
Val turned to her other three Pokemon and called them over to her. Persian rubbed against her hand, purring, while Gliscor happily swooped over to perch on her shoulder, while Feraligatr just lumbered over to pat her shoulder. With Gliscor happily hissing something and Persian and Feraligatr following along, she went back the way she'd come, searching for Gray. She let him know that she was leaving Mt. Silver. Every year, right around this time, Ecruteak had a big autumn festival, and Val never missed it. She didn't really want to start now. "If you finish here within the next few days, I'll be in Ecruteak. If the festival is over before you're finished training, I'll return here." She turned away, her three remaining Pokemon returning themselves to their Ultra Balls as she went back the way the small group had come, emerging from the tunnel to the raging snowstorm that usually blew around the mountain. Apologizing for the cold, she called out her new Hydreigon. "I need to get to Ecruteak City." Already displaying a rebellious streak, despite having allowed itself to be captured, it growled softly and turned away. "Please?" Her hand stretched out, rubbing softly against one of its smaller heads. "It's for a festival. I go every year. There'll be many different games, lots of sweets, and even a big battling competition. You'll get to be part of it if you want." Hydreigon let out a more curious growl this time. "Sure. So, will you give me a ride?" All three heads bobbed eagerly in a nod. She mounted the Dragon and it took off with an excited roar.

After an hour or so of flying -- she promised herself she'd find the HM for Fly -- they finally arrived in Ecruteak. She dismounted and allowed Hydreigon to remain outside of its Ultra Ball. Soon, Gliscor was back on her shoulder, while Persian and Feraligatr were also following alongside her with excitement. "First things first..." Val mused quietly. Her path took her straight to the same costume shop she went to every year. "Which one this year....?" Persian mewed, padding over to sniff at a costume. With a smile, the hybrid nodded. "Alright, you bossy kitty." Persian carefully grabbed it from rack, Feraligatr helping arrange it on the feline's back to make it easier to carry, while Val went up front to pay for her purchase. Then the small group went back to the changing rooms. Val took the costume and entered, while her four Pokemon waiting outside. A minute or so later, her armor, belt, and old clothing were tossed out from behind the curtain. She soon stepped out after the items. "There we go. What do you guys -- and girl --" she added, with a glance at Hydreigon, "think?"
Spoiler:

As her Pokemon all voiced their opinions in their own way -- Persian purring, Feraligatr nodding, Gliscor clacking his pincers together as if he were clapping, and Hydreigon growling happily -- she happened to glance out a window and realize how dark it was. She must have spent more time at Mt. Silver than she thought. She'd been up all night! Surprised that the shop was open so early, she shrugged a little. She didn't feel tired either... Come to think of it, she'd never really seen a Ghost Pokemon sleep. Perhaps they didn't require sleep and she, as a Ghost type now, didn't either? In any case, she knew the festival didn't really start until around 9 in the morning. She had about four hours to kill. "I may not be tired...but I sure and hungry. Skipped right over dinner," she grumbled. "I don't remember having lunch either. Let's go see if any food stalls are open yet, or if there's a restaurant open." The five of them exited the shop. The city wasn't as empty as she'd have expected. It wasn't exactly busy, but obviously people were coming from all over for the festival, because even at 5 in the morning, there were some arriving. That must be why the costume shop was open, as it was a rather popular one. At the sight of other people around, however, Val's smile vanished. She ignored everyone she came across as she silently began her search for something to eat. Eventually, Persian and Feraligatr got tired of trekking around the city and returned themselves to their Ultra Balls. Gliscor opted to remain perched upon her shoulder, and Hydreigon seemed as focused on food as Val was.
Lucas and ???
"Autumn Festival!" Lucas grinned as he passed beneath the arch that signaled the entrance to Ecruteak city, his purple-furred nekomata tail thrashing around excitedly and his Espeon-like ears flicking around every which way.

"It's 5 in the Arceusdamn morning."

"So what?"

"There's another four hours before it starts."

"That gives me four hours to find and get you into a costume." The Psychic/Electric hybrid grinned at the man accompanying him. Both were members of Team Rocket, but their chances of being recognized as such were pretty low. Lucas never wore the uniform, and the one he'd managed to drag along was just wearing a black t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. And, of course, the black beret-style hat that he never seemed to go anywhere without.

"Like hell you're getting me into one of those things."

"B-but I'm your friiieeend..."

"I often wonder why I bother with you."

"Because the Boss put you in charge of my, and my partner's, training and since then, you've somehow gotten too attached to both of us. Then again, nothing with you ever makes sense, psycho."

"Why couldn't you just go again this year with your partner?"

"She's out on her mission, remember?"

"Last I heard, she'd died and been taken back to a base and was revived. There was no word of her being given permission to continue the mission she failed."

"Dude, cut Val some slack. No way she'd fail a mission. Or die. Come on, I'd have totally seen you moping around if your crush died. Even if she did get revived."

"Silence yourself, Lucas. Before I decide to do it for you."

"Sure thing man. Hey, you participating in any events?"

"No. I don't even want to be here."

"Stick in the mud. I'm going for the battle event and the trivia. I don't need a Ghost type. Got all the six Pokemon I need." His nose began to twitch, ears perking up. "Hey! I knew she'd be here! Totally smells different, but that's Val's scent alright." Lucas turned and scampered off through the city. The man he'd been with gave a short-tempered growl and followed.
Valkyrie, Lucas, and ???
Running footsteps caught Val's attention. Though they were audible, they were also light and quiet, like a cat's. So he had come. Early, as usual, it seemed. But he wasn't her partner anymore, and she could hear another set of footsteps with his. If she knew Lucas like she did, then the person accompanying him... "Hydreigon, I-"

"Val!"

"Damn," she muttered under her breath. Gliscor flew off her shoulder, and a few seconds later, someone had slammed into her, wrapping his arms around her waist and nuzzling her cheek as he purred.

"I knew you'd come. You're such a stickler for tradition. Why didn't you wait at the base for me? Oh, is that Hydreigon yours? When did you get it? That's soooooo cool!"

"Shut up."

"Aww, you haven't changed."

"Neither have you. And I'm not too happy right now. You've done me no favors by dragging him along."

"You don't sound even remotely pleased to see me, Valkyrie."

"I'm not, you psychotic freak."

"Look out! Lover's spat in progress~" Lucas teased, dancing away as Val swiped at him.

"Look, Lucas, our partnership..." Val huffed and pinched the bridge of her nose. "It's over. Team Rocket has lost my allegiance."

The cheery boy wilted, ears and tail drooping. "O-Oh...wh-what do you mean?"

"This was going to happen eventually. And this damned city...I can't do anything about your betrayal right now," the green-haired man sneered. "Who is it?"

"I'm sorry Lucas. It was nice working with you. As for you..." Val eyed the other man as Gliscor returned to her shoulder. "You know very well I'd never reveal who my new master is. But I'm going to warn you now. The duration of the festival...when it ends...when I leave this city...from now on, you had better keep well away from me, Lance."

"Vaaaaal," Lucas whined, ducking behind her as the green-haired man's face twisted into an ugly snarl.

"That name holds no meaning for me, Valkyrie."

"Oh, I'm sorry. You'd prefer the particle name then, Proton? And Lucas, you can leave! You are still a Rocket and I don't see you leaving those pathetic criminals any time soon."
