    I found it so hard to believe, coming just not too long after his birthday and the release of Blackstar. At least we all know he has been an influence to many artists and the album was a perfect parting gift.

    Rest in peace to a legend.
     
    He was such a musical genius. Not afraid to spice the pop formula up with unconventional chords. His addition to pop music has been insane, and it's always sad to see a musical titan go
     
    Today the world cries. We lost an actual legend who touched countless lives. Rest in peace, David Bowie.
     
    This was such an unexpected death for me, as I had no idea he was fighting cancer for 18 months prior. The man was a genius, in the sense that he started and continued many trends from the '70s (like his funky clothes and hairstyles :P). Definitely one of the most iconic artists over the years that I'm sure we all listened to growing up, this will certainly be a remembered day. Rest In Peace, David Bowie.
     
    Looks like 2016 went off on a terrible start isn't it? Achromatic is gonna so heartbroken when he hears about this, because he's a major David Bowie fan in this forum.

    Except that he already did hear about it... but still, these past couple of weeks have seen the loss of a lot of music legends, such as Natalie Cole and also Lemmy from Motorhead, so to have this happen just weeks after them proves how bleak the year started for the music industry.
     
    goddammit. this is so terrible. will be spinning his records in memoriam for years to come.

    Well this put a damper on my day. I may be 17 but I love David Bowie. He was one of my favorite music artists. I didn't grow up listening to him or anything but he really did make some amazing music and I'm truly sad to hear about his passing.
     
    I have never heard of him before but it is still tragic for someone like him to pass away. May he rest in peace and I send my thoughts and prayers to his family.
     
    It all seems so sudden, Bowie seemed to just keep coming up in my life last week leading up to this so it's just amplified the shock that he died after there being no knowledge of him being ill.

    I'm glad he got to go out on his own terms with the release of this send off album. Hopefully no label executives decide to start piecing together posthumous albums.

    Thank you everything Bowie. The music, the movies, breaking down social barriers, the fashion, everything. An inspirational man with unmatchable work ethic. R.I.P.
