Do you battle all trainers in the games?

personally i battle all of them because I'm a completionist, but i've watched several videos/let's plays where the person playing actively avoids battling all trainers if they can, even for a regular playthrough/non-challenge. what about you??

I do, although I'll sometimes skip trainers so I can go back and battle them with Pokemon I have yet to add to my team, because grinding in the grass, or baiting and switching against stronger trainers, takes about twice as long as just straight-up battling a trainer with Pokemon around the same level.

When I was younger, i'd be like "Ugh leave me alone, I just want to get to the next town!"
Now i'm like, "Bring it Coward!"
Of course, i'd back track after every trainer to a Poke Center, heal, switch some 'mons, save, then go back on the route.

It wasn't until Pokemon Emerald where I decided to do that, and then rechallenge some (Especially between Mauville and Slateport) If I could take them all on at the same time I would give it a go :P

It really annoys me when I have to leave trainers out on a route. I always try to fight them all

I try to fight them all if I can. Gimme that EXP! Though I did have a funny encounter in Sword recently where I skipped an early route trainer by accident and came back to face his level 13 Budew with my level 94 Galarian Rapidash. Oops.

In the older games I'd say yes but now I'm pretty sure I miss some here and there.

I battle most trainers in the game. I usually skip a few (usually the trainer classes that I like; this might sound weird but I feel guilty about defeating some of them) but for the most part I want all the money and experience I can get.

I'm also known to leave some trainers in order to have a Pokemon I catch later on battle them to help them get up to the same level as the rest of my team.

yes, though i sometimes skip past them and come back later if my team is hurt. skipping them entirely seems like a waste of gameplay

I always felt like I had to battle every trainer when I was younger, but in the more recent games (especially with forced Exp. Share), I tend to skip a few trainers, since I don't want to be too over-leveled going into important battles.

When I know I have enough levels and money, I'll just skip them to save time. Also last time I wanted to beat every trainer in one of my Nuzlockes I challenged this totally optional trainer in Ecruteak City and I lost my Butterfree because of it.

Yes, I usually get into the habit of battling every trainer on each route. It was pretty much entirely necessary in DPPt in order to fill up the Regional Dex and gain full access to the post-game areas like Stark Mountain.

The way I play it is usually adviced to battle as many trainers as possible. That is: when you try to beat the games without grinding and with a fully realized job driven party consisting of Pokemon of any type of viability it helps if you take on any trainer in terms of more EXP and money.

i battle the majority of them. some of the ones i skip if i can't be assed to (like if im rushing towards a gym or something) but for the most part, i battle most trainers i come across.

The only time I won't is if my team is overlevelled. If not, yes, I try to beat as many given trainers as possible.
