It's really dependent on the series, but I generally prefer anime. You can do so much more with a series when you take into account the music, the voicing, etc.

But like I said, it depends heavily on the series.

I tend to like manga more because of the art and (usually) more detailed plot line. I also much prefer being able to use my imagination to picture a scene, rather than having it layed out in front of me. Novels without pictures do this best, but manga still allows some sort of imagination with just still images. Anime and film on the other hand, leaves next to no room for your own imagination.

That said, I watch anime a lot more often, simply because it's easier to watch whilst doing other things (usually talking on MSN) I also prefer to have reading items actually in my hand, but seeing as I don't have any money to buy things with I can't afford to buy manga, so reading it on the computer screen takes away from the experience a bit I think.

Although sometimes anime can be a lot more artistic, the only example I can think of is Bakemonogatari, as I haven't really watched that many series. So anime that is more creative, and a bit different from all the other series, gets my vote for being the best. But in general, manga > anime.

Nowadays, I am leaning more to reading manga rather than watching anime, considering the manga has better art, the storyline is more detailed and well-presented, and it is more 'mature', in a way. The series is better told by reading a manga.

However, I do watch anime also, a lot actually. I tend to read the manga first, then watch the anime, and compare them afterward. Sometimes, an anime ends with many holes in the plot and after that, I continue the chapter from the manga.

I like anime better because I don't want to read all that much.

I love both Anime and Manga. Sometimes, I like to sit down and watch a good Anime while I find it easier to lie on my bed and read a good Manga while listening to my PSP. I think someone posted recently abut how some titles aren't Manga worth and vice versa. I tend to read Gundam Mangas, but I don't get that impact of the action if I see the Anime itself.

I still say both, but there's one point that makes me shift towards Mangas: They are cheaper to buy. I pay like, $10 for most titles while I don't know how much money you have to shell out for a Anime DVD these days.

I like both for different reasons. In cases like FMA, where the first anime had an original story, then equal.
In Dragon Ball, for example, the manga's faster paced, and even though I enjoy things like the Garlic Jr. Saga, 9 episodes of powering up made me like Z's manga better.
But I enjoy Kai, becaise with a faster story, it's more cinematic.
I like the Naruto manga better, because of no poorly handeled filler or half-hour speeches/flashbacks.
Really it depends.

I have never really enjoyed reading Manga. Read a couple but i guess it just doesn't do it for me. I'd much rather read a novel.

So Anime gets my vote.

I failed at this comment. Recently rediscovered my love of manga, Its not 100% down to the series.

i'd have to say both, due to the fact that whenever i watch an anime and totally got into it, i also read the manga. ^-^

I DO have an ambition on being a manga artist when I'm an adult (and let's not comment on that), but usually I just prefer anime because - even though there's all these fillers sometimes - I just like to multitask, and for manga you can't do that. Plus it catches your attention more by being "animation".

When I watch the anime version for a series, I don't usually go read the manga unless the anime was /quite/ disappointing and the manga shows the whole story. Other than that, no.
When it's manga I read first I don't mind delving into the anime.

I read manga sometimes though, just not frequently. :/

I'm primarily a manga reader due to the fact that I can cover a lot more in a lot less time. The only time I watch anime is when a good fight comes out, and even then I only go for a good AMV of it.

I love me some fight AMVs~ <3

I like both equally and I have no mangas at the moment but getting some soon and like anime to entertain me whether there is filler in the anime or not.

Depends on the series. For example, I prefer Pokemon manga over the anime, Shugo Chara anime over the manga, and I like the Naruto Shippuden manga and anime equally. However, I watch more anime than I read manga.

I like both, so-so. Although sometimes you just have to agree that the manga is better than the anime adaptation.

It depends, I like both, but sometimes I don't have time to read the manga so I'll go with anime.

I will prefer anime always and forever.

I wish that all anime could be exact faithful adaptations of their manga counterparts.

It's just that music is major to me and so is being able to tell what exactly is going on. It really isn't clear in a lot of action manga. Either that or I'm just dumb.

If we lived in a perfect world and anime had exactly the same plot and impact as its manga counterpart, then anime.

Too bad that's not true.

I prefer the original work in each instance; if it was a manga first, the manga. If it was the anime first, the anime.
