Do you remember what the first game you beat was?

Out of all the games in this series, do you remember the first one you beat? I considering "beating" being, at minimum, defeating the Elite Four in most cases, but for Johto it can be for getting through Kanto (and not necessarily beating Red since that can be quite hard). What was yours?

My first game was Sapphire, but I was too young at the time to figure out how to beat Steven. The first Pokemon game I actually beat was Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team, as Pikachu with a Torchic partner, and the first mainline game I beat was Pearl, with a de facto Solo Torterra run.

Pokemon wise? Never finished stadium 1/2 as the rental Pokemon aren't ideal for battling over leveled computer players. Diamond, my best guess? I had to level grind legendaries to beat Cynthia. Now, I just defeat her over and over with my lv 100 cresselia to farm pokedollars and level up the rest of my boxes. Battle tower's brutal, so I'm not including that for 100% completion, even though it should be.

The first game I beat was HeartGold, although it took many tries. I almost beat FireRed years ago when I was a child, but I didn't know what I was doing and pretty much gave up.

Red...kind of? Shared the game with a sibling. Cannot remember who tackled the Elite Four (or if it was done together).

Becomes hazier if you are asking about a solo completion. Definitely beat Gold solo. Played (and shared, to some degree) most of the games before that too, though. Beat Pokemon Snap, Yellow, probably Stadium, and Pinball (full Pokedex).

It was Silver although Silver was NOT my first game. It was my second.
My first game was Yellow but I remember getting through the E4 and then being unable to defeat the rival champion battle. I ended up getting a friend to do it for me. Therefore, technically I did not beat Yellow.

For Pokemon it was beating Diamond. Even though I first played Yellow I never knew how to get to Saffron City or find HM surf so I gave up. I had a level 92 Empoleon with nothing but HM moves and a level 55 Dialga that curb stomped the Elite Four. I remember Cynthia being a bit hard yet somehow my Dialga survived and landed a critical hit with Roar of Time against her Garchomp. It came down to my Empoleon using Cut against her Milotic to win as I had run out of PP for all other moves.

It's easy. The first game I finished was Yellow. Which was also my first game. I had to use a walkthrough in one old Pokémon magazine to get through it, because I got stuck several times.

Blue. Though I watched my brother beat Red (that was "his" version while Blue was "my" version) first.

(We used the Game Boy Player accessory for the SNES so we could play the games on our TVs and watch each other play through our respective games. And we'd continue the tradition of each of us getting a different version of the games till I left for college.)

My very first game was Pokemon Crystal, I was 8 years old so I was clueless about what I was doing, didn't have access to the internet to look things up, and even then I somehow beat it, passed Kanto, and even beat Red after trying a few dozen times
I even remember the team I used, it was Typhlosion, Kingler, Suicune, Gyarados, Arcanine and Noctowl. I still don't know how I managed to beat Red with that team, but somehow it happened

Not sure if Diamond counts because I couldn't get past Lucian, so my cousin helped me, by trading me some pokemon. Without that my first one was SoulSilver.

Either Red or Blue depending on whichever of the two I had first.

SoulSilver was the first game I beat, it took me a long time to beat the E4 + Lance since I had a party of 5 (from what I remember it consisted of an Ampharos (my ace), Pidgeot, Kadabra and Feraligatr, but I don't remember who the 5th member was), but would dodge absolutely every trainer I could which meant I was severely underleveled. Eventually I lost so many times against the E4 I essentially had all their teams memorized, and leveled up just enough to cheese Lance with a pile of Hyper Potions / Revives and Perish Song.
