As long as there is a male and a female and they are in the same egg group, you can breed them. It does seem rather hard to believe, though...I'll have to try it out myself xP

No, it didn't work because it doesn't exist xP Why would they program Yoshi into the game? (Then again, why would they leave a Missingno. Pokemon in it either...)

Wow. That is just...wow. lolz.

I do the flying away from the gambler thing all the time...Missingno. is teh awesomenest to beat. But then again there's the lv. 7 Magnetons...Mews...and others of the sort.

It just shocks me that people would believe half this stuff.
 
I have heard many of these stupid rumors but the one i will never forget is How to get Ho-oh as a starter...

you had to catch a female ditto and breed it with a bulbasaur....
then once you receive the egg place a pokemon in your PC and shut off the power while it was saving...
then restart your game and Elm will give you Ho-oh

that was dumbest thing i have ever read, yet when i was younger i attempted this many times XD

shame i never knew ditto was genderless...
 
Mine is something like if you click some rock about 150 times (it's close to where articuno is found I think) you'll be able to catch a togepi =)) =)) even though togepis didn't even exist when blue/red and yellow was made =)) =))

It was because Togepi was introduced in the anime before they went to Johto </3

I was stupid at the time and tried =))

In R/B/Y/G/S/C, it is possible to get to the Orange Islands via Bill's Backyard after talking to the guy in Celadon City when you've filled up your PokeDex.

ooooh I forgot about the leaving a pikachu (I think) at a daycare center, waiting for it to grow to something stupid like level 99, grow it to level 100 and it'll evolve into something (I can't remember what, I'm sure it was something stupid :laugh:) rumour.
 
Here's another one.Egg Hatch a Dratini and evolve it to Dragonite by fighting Magikarps. Then go to the Rocket building and there will be a guy who gives you a CeleBall for having a Dragonite by Magikarp training. Go to Azalea and find Kurt. Kill him with the Dragonite and steal a GS Ball. Then, you can catch a Celebi!
 
lol I've heard loads of mewthree crap aswell =))

Why would they make mewthree, isn't two enough? :laugh:
 
Go to the S.S. Anne truck. Use the move Strength 1000 times. After 1000 times, the truck will move. In it's place, Sabrina will appear, and battle you with a Lv. 100 Mew. If you beat Sabrina in battle, she will give you the Mew for free. It will know Psychic and Grass-type moves.

This is just one of the gems I've seen over the years when it comes to Pokemon, or, more specifically, truck rumors. These "do a certain event X number of times" seem to be the most popular to make up, especially any that involve Mew.
 
It's been so long I don't remember many of them too clearly, but most involved Mew/Togepi/'Pikablu' (Marill), fighting various people a zillion times, Bill's yard, that blasted truck, non-truck-related things with the S.S. Anne, or increasing the chances of capture/critical hits by holding down certain buttons.

Actually, I still hold Up+A when capturing out of habit, just 'cause it feels "wrong" if I don't, even though it obviously has no effect whatsoever.
 
^ I'm the same, I always press B when I catch a pokemon =)) I read somewhere once that it increases the chances, it's obv untrue... but it's an old habit now.

When I first got Yellow my friend told me that if I beat the Elite 4 20 times I could go to the Orange Islands... I believed him... I wasted three days on that... XD

I've always wanted them to make a game for the orange islands tbh :( it would have been awesome.
 
Ratiosu, that was sarcasm. Anyway, another. In G/S/C, capture every pokemon and go to Red's house(after beating him at Mt.Silver) and he will fight you with only a Lv.100 Mewthree. Win and he gives to you. Also, catch the 3 legendary dogs, transfer the 3 legendary birds from R/B/Y and a women outside the Kanto magnet train station will give you a GS Ball.
 
The Mew under the truck rumour takes the cake for me. It is sad that some people still believe in that rumor today. :/

Another rumor I heard was for the second generation before Crystal came out. When you catch 250 Pokemon, you have to see Prof. Oak in Kanto and he will give you the GS Ball for the Celebi Event at Ilex Forest.
 
My friend told me that if you have your Pokemon for a really long time they die. He said one of his Pokes had a heart attack and almost died... He apparently revived it somehow, don't remember how... He was really into his story like he believed it himself. I think he did, in fact. And I was just standing there, nodding. >.>
 
It had to have been a rumor that I came up with... xD

I felt like messing around with one of my friends one day and I told him you could enter your rival's room and start taking his stuff. Then Officer Jenny would come on a really fast bicycle and arrest you.

That had to have been the biggest pile of crap that I've ever spewed out of my mouth. :laugh:
 
I heard this really dumb rumor once about how you could get like an additional 99 items of whatever you wanted in pokemon red/blue.

First you have to put an item in the 6th item slot in you pack...
Then fly to Viridian city and talk to the old guy up top and watch him catch a weedle...
Then, IMMEDIATELY fly to cinnabar island and surf along the right edge...
You'll apparently see a bunch of lvl 120 pokemon there and a weird glitch pokemon or something, you're supposed to run away from the glitched pokemon and then you'll get 99 of whatever item you have in your sixth slot.

It sounds really stupid doesn't it?

Oh. Wait a minute...
