Elite Four Members

[Hiatus]

There are many groups of Elite Four out there, consisting few of the toughest Pokémon trainers of their respective regions. In Hoenn, we have Sidney, Phoebe, Glacia, and Drake, and they specialize in dark, ghost, ice, and dragon respectively. Kanto and Johto share their league, mostly, and they have Will, Koga, Bruno, Lance, Karen, Lorelei, and Agatha; they focus on psychic, poison, fighting, dark, ice, and ghost. Sinnoh Elite Four members specialize bug, ground, fire, and psychic, and their names are Aaron, Bertha, Flint, and Lucian. Unova has Shauntal, Marshal, Grimsley, and Caitlin. In-games, for the first time ever, you're able to face them in any order of your choosing. Finally, in Kalos region, we've got Wikstrom, Malva, Drasna, and Siebold.

Anyhoo, from all these Elite Four, which would you consider your most favorite and why? Which did you have the hardest time facing? Why was he or she so hard for you? Have you ever gotten the chance to see any of them in anime? If so, which moment would be your favorite?

I liked Hoenns elite four. They all seemed to have cool designs and put up a solid fight.

Collectively, I would say that the Hoenn Elite Four are the best.
They were some of the more challenging opponents ever fought. Especially Glacia.

But, my absolute favourite member of all time would have to be Lorelei, she was the prettiest trainer of them all in the older games.

I also liked her anime adaptation: ice-cold in combat, tender outside.
Plus she promoted her personal videos. Thanks 4Kids. XD

Kalos has to have my fave Elite Four to date, they all have pretty awesome designs. Siebold and Drasna have to be my faves. Drasna has that always-happy face and Siebold is the first Water E4 member as well, which is a nice change. I also love Wikstrom's knight theme, very fitting for a Steel specialist and fits with Aegislash being his ace as well. And Malva is even a Team Flare member, which is a nice little twist in personality for an E4 member.

Hoenn has always had my favorite E4, maybe because y played it so much, but i think they put up a pretty solid fight, have nice teams and typings and over-all good design. I especially like Phoebe, who looks like she is from Hawaii and for some reason uses Ghost types...i always found that a pretty unique combination. The Kalos E4 would have to be my 2nd favorite, for breaking the whole Dark/Psychic/Ghost/Fighting pattern and using some very different types.

Another one that i'm probably the odd one out on, but I personally liked the Unova Elite Four. Granted, their types weren't that creative in the long run, but I really liked their characters. Marshal especially because he was training under Alder, so I found him an awesome character for one. And you see him on Twist Mountain in BW2, which was nice. Their teams are alright for the most part, but Challenge Mode makes them even more interesting.

[Hiatus]

My favorite Elite Four would most likely have to be Lance. Love his character design, and he also gets to become champion in Johto league. Plus, he expertise in dragon-types, which I'm sure is not very easy; as we've seen in the anime, dragon Pokémon could be quite difficult to manage at times. Toughest Elite Four would've to be Drake, maybe. When I had first fought him in Ruby, he managed to take my team down without breaking even a single sweat. :P

I'm a sucker for originals, so I still think I like Lance and Lorelei the best. Lorelei was so incredibly tough to beat in Kanto, then Bruno and Agatha were kind of a breeze before Lance's terrible Dragonite. Lance was the original dragon trainer, which I think is awesome enough to get him a place in my favorites of E4 members. But Lorelei might be the very best. Her design is pretty with her glasses and red hair, she was ominous in a good way in PokéSpe manga (and eventually turned to the good side iirc!) and it's cool that she's dealing with ice types. Cool. Get it. Always had troubles with her Lapras, and sometimes Jynx and Slowbro too.

Definitely NOT Unova or Kalos. They got nerfed bigtime because of the four-Pokemon-only and face-in-any-order crap that made them have weaker Pokemon.

To be honest, the Sinnoh group are probably my favorites. Mostly because of how tough Lucian was (that Bronzong). Hoenn's aren't slouches, either, and have overall better typing. Really, Sinnoh having Aaron and Bertha first was meh. Two easy types to deal with.

My ideal typings for an Elite Four would be Ice, Ghost, Steel, and Dragon. Hoenn has 3/4 of those, and its Champion is the 4th in two of the games, which is one reason why I find them to be a good experience.

Of course this is the E4 as a whole. I don't have any particular favorites, oddly. Mabe because all too often they're not really major factors in their games like some gym leaders and the champ are?

My favorites would be Phoebe and Karen for not being your stereotypical Ghost and Dark type trainers. Phoebe has a great name and fresh, youthful design. I admit her team was monotonous with 2 Dusclops and 2 Banette, however. As for Karen, her team is a lot of fun to spar with because of her Grass/Fire/Flying party members, and she has a good philosophy about using your favorites, so I'm still a fan.

Many of them seem to be just crafted or shoe-horned in for the part and have little personality. I do like how some of Kalos's members have outside hobbies, like Siebold being a chef and Malva being a news reporter.

I like Sinnoh's Elite 4 in Platinum; they gave me a pretty good challenge. It would've been nice if the Kalos and Unova Elite 4 members had 1 more Pokemon in each of their teams, tbh.

I thought the Unova Elite Four was pretty cool besides Marshall or whatever his name was because I'm too lazy to look it up rn.

My top two members are Karen and Lady Caitlin. I love their types and their design and their "personality."
