Night Five

After the events of the previous day, the decision on who to burn had been obvious.

Of course, it wouldn't have been wise of honey to be present for today's events, so the current task was to track her down. Thanks to the protective spell around Haven, she wouldn't have been able to leave, and chances were that she was hiding close enough to observe the remaining citizens.

"Isn't that right, honey?" Zami held up a strand of hair before handing it to Naku. He took the hair and placed it over a candle, a bit different from the one he had used when they killed GreenFlame.

The strand of hair caught fire and Naku let go of it. It floated above the candle as it burned. Naku muttered a few words and the flames changed colors, from orange to green to blue until eventually they glowed with an iridescent luster. A light breeze passed by, catching the flames, which instantly grew into a colossal stream of fire that weaved between the buildings of Haven. It was only a moment before honey fell from a nearby rooftop, set ablaze by all the colors of the rainbow.

The roar of the fire drowned out her screaming, and in a matter of seconds she was naught but a pile of ash. Enchanted flames left nothing of their target.

As the flames dissipated, Zami clasped her hands together. "Now that that's done, all that remains before us is to find the lone killer that plagues our dear town, and we can be sure that he stands here among us. For now, return to your homes. Nothing good comes of fighting nightmares once the sun has set."

honey is dead. She was a Hellspawn!

Day Six

"It just comes down to us," arachnidsGrip stated, stiletto in hand.

Weiss Schnee simply laughed. "I may be a creature of two faces, but you are the true deceiver! Boldly beguiling the boring bodies of this backwater borough!"

arachnidsGrip raised her arm. "You should be proud. You've managed to elude capture this long. You're the only threat that remains to Haven, and now it's your turn to die."

"Ooooh!" Weiss giggled. "She is bold!" His hand twitched. "But is she strong?"

arachnidsGrip lunged forward, lashing out at the Mogwai. She stabbed at him, aiming for the heart. Weiss twisted, reacting faster than arachnidsGrip could move. He produced two daggers, one in each hand, twirling violently. His right arm came down and lopped off arachnidsGrip's hand, the one in which she held her stiletto. She fell to her knees, clenching her jaw to keep from yelling out. Weiss Schnee continued to turn, completing his assault in one swift motion. arachnidsGrip's decapitated head fell to the ground.

Weiss chuckled. "Apparently not."

From above, a figure loomed.

The Hellspawn were all dead, now even the traitor had fallen. Perhaps the Mogwai should be thanked for that, but he was a threat, and threats needed to be eliminated.

The figure dropped from the rooftops, silent as the night itself. Raising a bow, it launched a poisoned arrow directly into Weiss Schnee's heart.

The Mogwai let out a gasp. "Heeheehee, someone knows how to play!" He choked, blood pouring from his mouth as he continued to laugh.

The figure left both bodies in the street.

The Siren, Mogwai, and Hellspawn were all dead, but there was still a traitor among the remaining three Havenites.

arachnidsGrip is dead. She was a Hellspawn!

Weiss Schnee is dead. He was the Mogwai!

@Nakazumi, in your story you constantly refer to Weiss Schnee as a 'he', but she's in fact female.

When I was reading this, I thought: Yay, this went pretty well. That's a victory already! But then there happens to be another traitor... Great. This game really is getting to reveal itself as something overcomplex. I don't think there is anything we can base our votes on, so that makes it 50/50.

I'm guessing for Orpheus, because of this post, stating how he isn't the Mogwai instead of saying he's a Havenite. But as I said, there isn't really much to base our votes on.

haha, this last person really hasn't been actively utilizing their role, so that would be why

For all you wondering, yeah: I'm the Yaksha. And, no, at no point in the game have really utilized my role. Not that I really had a role in the first place. I mean, I'm supposed to be a double agent or something like that, but all that I have to my name is that I can't be identified by the seer. I haven't been in contact with the hellspawn or anything like that... I didn't even know who they were at any point.

Eh... It's been a really fun game anyway. c: I'm not putting up a fight or anything. I'd probably die anyway so #yolo. :p

the Yaksha certainly had a much tougher time of it than the Nymph, that's for sure

they were a kind of beta-test for that type of role, since I'd never actually seen them implemented, so it was a little rocky. The Nymph was successful, but not the Yaksha, so I'll keep that in mind for any future games I create, haha

I'll conclude the game tomorrow when I get home from school. c;

All I ever wanted was peace... It was hard for me to live a lie, on the constant threat of elimination, but as my head tore off from my body, I felt a sign of relief. I was free.

I know my death was a heroic one, stopping the Hellspawn from ever killing more Havenites, and trying to kill the Mogwai for the safety of all.

I must say thank you to the Yaksha, even though you had deceived us, with the daemon ways, you still killed off the Mogwai for me and surrendering, and I'm grateful for it.

Now that peace has come back to Haven, I must move on, and so as my other comrades who died valiantly.

The only thing I've ever regretted is that I never got that chocolate pie that me and Foxrally could have shared.

All of the Havenites' deaths plus mine were heroic, and we hope that you would remember us, always...

RIP SPOODERGIRL, YOUR EFFORTS OF SAVING HAVEN WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN.​

I think it could be a really cool role, but it does need some changes.

Epilogue

"So you're a daemon."

A gentle breeze blew through the nearly empty town of Haven.

"Yes."

There was a peaceful silence. The sun was shining brightly. It was a beautiful day.

"Then we have no choice but to burn you."

"I know."

Zami and Naku looked over the three remaining Havenites, which was soon to be brought down to two. gimmepie and H.A.N. had proved to be the only survivors, save for Orpheus, who had now revealed himself as a Yaksha.

Orpheus was quiet as he was tied to the pyre. The last pyre. The final death.

"Orpheus, you have done nothing to harm us and you managed to kill the Mogwai, so I say this without malice: see you in Hell." It was the only place a daemon could go, after all.

The fire was lit, and the last daemon was gone.

Haven had been hurt, but it had endured.

The danger was gone.

For now.

Orpheus is dead. He was the Yaksha!

The Havenites are victorious!

Yay! Great job, everyone. I loved reading through the thread as though it were an unfolding story. Awesome storytelling, Naku.

I love how you guys really thoroughly contemplated and exhausted basically all of Naku's hints.

Basically.

Reisen's will was found in a locked chest within her house, along with a small array of weapons.

This should really have tipped off that I was Vigilante lol.

I'm still sad, though. My role could have been used better. Nobody listened to us when we said we were Town. *pouts*

I should really have been Siren though, because you can rearrange Reisen to Siren(e). Then I could have charmed you all and controlled everybody. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

And I don't think anybody thought that you could be both a lover and have another role. I may be wrong there but I know I didn't give it a thought. /shrug

I'm honestly kind of salty about this game for a few reasons. Partly because I died because I was unable to access the internet (but that was my fault, so it's not really about that). But it's mostly because of the Nymph.

So unless I've missed something, the Nymph is a Mafia member for the sake of most announcements, but is working for the Innocents. Thus, they know all Mafia member's identities, and can help to control who the Mafia kill, in addition to seeing their other plans.

Doesn't this mean it is extremely hard for the Mafia to have any chance of winning? Not only do the Mafia have no way to tell a Nymph without the Nymph confessing (which is pretty much not going to happen at a point where the Mafia aren't already screwed), but they know all their identities and can give all that information to the Innocents in one post if they want to, thus killing the game.


So again, unless I'm missing something, the Nymph just sounds like an over-powered, game-killing role. Yes, I may be slightly salty, but that doesn't make this any less unfair.

I would like to thank the people who have helped to colour my white colourless soul red with their blood. :)

Although I didn't win, I'm still quite proud of myself for lasting so long. I honestly thought I would have been killed in the early nights or had the bad luck of the Seer finding me out xD (Targeting Sphealo was completely random tbh and I love the confusion it caused xD)

As the Nymph, I had so much fun being the traitor, that I actually adopted Foxrally's SPOODERGIRL persona ;)

But, I do agree with GreenFlame, although it was hard to trust sources, especially since this is a game of trust and betrayal, I do agree my role was a bit overpowered. From Faeries & Daemons, it quickly became Follow what the Spoodergirl Says... But, maybe if the Yaksha role was utilized very well, like I did, maybe it could balance out the Nymph a bit... Maybe Lilith could know who the Yaksha is, and should keep that a secret from others?
