I mean, like drinking hot cocoa and watching a thunderstorm go psycho outside your house is something I would think to be one of the coolest moments ever, or one of the 'high points'.

And YES, Black Jack is completely awesome... especially when the science gets out of hand.

Casey doesn't strike me as the sort of person who watches very much television, so he would probably float around the others' recommendations. Ditto with Grant. Sheridan would probably be into such things as xxxHolic and Mushi-Shi, Black Cat at a stretch. Caro would definitely dive for the shonen and gag anime, probably wasting away waking hours with Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo (did I do that right? xD), Inu-Yasha, and Bleach. (Naruto probably wouldn't fly for him.) Zero would have a secret fanboyish obsession with Chobits, but otherwise refuse to watch anime.

Jericho, assuming there was TV 500 years ago XD :P would probably watch something like Naruto or Dragon Ball Z, something wherein the protagonist is a little too good at what they do, kind of like those shows where you could predict the outcome, just because it is that obvious.

What anime shows would your fan fic characters prefer?
The only Otaku character in NG-137 would have to be Kana. She practically watches every single anime she can lay her hands on, but these are some of her favourites.

Hm, writing? Didn't do much because I was busy with school and work, but because I'm having a three day weekend (yay, Martin Luther King Day! :P), I'm able to get some writing done. Actually, I might be able to post the next chapter of Heart of the Sea tomorrow. :3 Might not post Chapter Three though till after midterms. >.>

And funny you guys should mention work. Last month I came to work on a Saturday, but there won't be much students coming to the dorm restaurant because it was finals week and practically everyone went home already. The supervisor then asked a few people who would like to go home early since he won't need much people for that day. There were then just me and a few people. I stayed because I needed the money. XD

Bunny and Jacob are the kind of people that don't watch anime due to them watching to watch more "educational" programs and are busy with their archeological research and looking into mythology, but Fate/Stay Night might be a good candidate because that's the only anime I know so far that has slightly historical/mythological undertones. Since Jacob is in jail…he might get a kick out of that show. :P I would have same the Pokemon anime and movies since the show has the plates, but the characters are practically in that universe because I referenced certain events from that show. >.>

Jenny would go something more with police work like Death Note and Majin Tantei Nōgami Neuro . She'll also go for something with slapstick comedy like Chobits and to-LOVE-ru (I actually haven't seen that anime yet, but I read some of the manga ^^; ).

Damus doesn't watch too much anime either due to him before being a traveling coordinator and then a fisherman, but he would probably go for something relating to fishing. Actually, he might even watch some Pokémon episodes that features contests and Pokemon fisherman. That would be more lenient since I only base a couple things from the anime like how contests work and there are no references of certain events, so… XD;

Funny you should mention Black Cat as I based the look of one of my characters from Sven. XD; That man is a gentelman, I tell you! :P
 
Bay: I actually just was thinking about an anime that Sheridan would like to watch and thought of your old signature. xD I can't say I based any of my characters off of any Black Cat ones, though.

I honestly don't think Leah would watch any anime as she would stick to western shows. Though, if she did, I assume she'd like Full Metal Alchemist and even some romance anime like Vampire Knight (even if she would never admit it). On the other hand, Ed would like Digimon and Ally would probably love Card Captor Sakura.


Uh, also, I kinda need some advice. You see, I used to post my story on Serebii, but I stopped around chapter five because the posting system was pretty annoying (I didn't like how I had to re-italic my words). Now, I kind of want to start posting there again, but I'm just wondering if I should even bother. I have thirty-five chapters written and even if I update twice a week, it'll still take me over two or three months to get caught up and that's not even considering the new chapters that will be written in their wake.

So, what do you guys think I should do? Should I even bother?

Warning, the writer of the post is extremely tired so it may not make sense, but the author assures you that in his fatigued mind, it certainly made sense when he posted it...
Well, do you think you want to? That's the crucial question you need to ask yourself. I mean, posting a fic on any site is rather pointless if you do it just to get praised. Most people do it because they love to write. Considering you're re-posting a fic, do you think that it's worth re-posting. Would anyone read it? Do you do it for the reviews? Of course we all love positive reviews, but you'll have to consider if anyone bothers to leave one at all.

tl;dr: If you love to write and show off to the world that you're 'hot stuff' go for it!

For one thing, if you want to italicize your words in Serebii, just press the little A/A button above the YouTube button in the top left corner of the text box. It's on PokéCom too, and it's ativated, which is why font formats are retained during transfer from Word document to Internet. Though for your main problem, I would wait until you've finished the series and can look back on it enough to see how you fell short as a writer. Rewrite it, and post it then. Serebii is very picky about who they choose to support, and if you don't meet their standards they'll either A. ignore you (I'm getting this treatment) or B. release Yami Ryu a vicious reviewer on your thread. You want your story to look its best, and posting thirty-five-chapter-old work isn't exactly it.

At least you spelled "vicious" right.

I second Giratina's advice to edit your previous chapters once you finish posting the fic here. That way, you kind of start off fresh with your current skills, instead of your skills thirty-five chapters ago.

As for how to get noticed on Serebii, I would say "be active in the community", but I know that Giratina has been posting in the Café over there, in pretty much all the topics. That's really the only advice I can give (except maybe have a pretty pretty banner in your sig advertising your fic) aside from reviewing other people. 'Cause being active is one of the best ways to get noticed. That and being a dedicated writer, so they know that you'll stick around.
 
Alright, thanks for the advice, guys! I'll finish my story first before posting it over there again. Though, I just hope that when I finish it, I won't just think, 'screw it' and won't bother. It's a bad habit with me. :/


Unfourtunatly, my exams have sucked up all my time so my fic progress hasn't been going well (I haven't even started my next chapter). Curse you Bio exam, curse you! My school year would have been so peaceful without you around. D:

When was the [Pokémon]/[Other] thing implemented and why? *blinks* I didn't see anything 'bout it in the rules for this section (yes, yes, I did look 'em over since I've been gone nearly a year; heck, I might've missed the portion 'bout it though; if I did, sorry to have done that).

When Other Writing and Pokemon Fanfiction and Poetry were merged. They were merged because someone made a thread wondering about why we had two separate writing sections even after the two different roleplay sections (Other Roleplays and Pokemon Roleplays) were merged.

Yada yada.

Forums merged. The prefixes "Other" and "Pokemon" were included so that the stories wouldn't get all confused together. This way, people can find original/other fandom stories, or Pokemon fanfics.

Anyway, I'm back from my extended holidays and I am currently working on my Twilight fics not that anyone reads them :P

Lisa likes anything heartwarming; i.e., To Heart, Hitohira, Clannad, and the like. She also likes herself some magical girl shows like Cardcaptor Sakura :P

For someone who likes the excessively violent anime, one only needs to look to Fred the Dog Master.

For an actual show... just to be ironic, Hellsing's anime/OVA. "Oooh, so tha's wha' they do in their spare time when I'm not botherin' Iscariot!"
 
I'm back momentarily, but I'll probably be gone again for a good while after I post this because I'm busier now than I've ever been in my life, thanks to school and the first girlfriend I've ever had.

What anime shows would your fan fic characters prefer?

Jack Norwood definitely prefers shows with lots of intellectual showdowns, like Death Note. He enjoys nothing more than a battle of wits between a rogue genius and a genius working for the establishment.

Emma Henderson enjoys shows where the emotional meets the cerebral, as in Neon Genesis Evangelion. She also goes for heavy pseudo-scientific content, Ghost in the Shell being a prime example. There's nothing she disdains more than gratuitous violence, though, so works like Akira are off her list.

Sean Crowe isn't very honest with himself, and is under the impression that cartoons are for children. He's never watched an anime, but he does recall connecting very strongly to the film adaptation of Watership Down (which is distinctly atypical of western animation) as a kid.
