Well I've got to say that was really fast, mr (or mrs) mod removing post from poetry section person XD (I was going to report it, but got sent to an invalid link because the post had already been moved to a closed place).

I wonder if that happens often :S People stealing other people's work, especially from work here and on the same page too X_x

It's unfortunate people are so inconsiderate in that manner :/

Which brings me to the question:

What would your character do, had it found out that some work of theirs was being copied by another?

By the way... I have no idea what happened. I just see bolded questions and go "OMG I MUST ANSWER THIIIIS". Still, if a thief was found out and finished off... good work, whichever mod did that.

Otherwise I am just chilling out right now, listening to Crystal Castles, and not doing my fic... Must... Have... Motivation...

I think the 2 looming essays I have to do are on my mind more than anything... Second week of school and I already have one 1000 essay due at the end of the month, as well as a 5-7 page essay due too... About Ethics and Shakespeare, respectively. However, I will do everything in my mental will to get it done asap... As Mass Effect 2 will be released during the same week, and I want to play that...

What would your character do, had it found out that some work of theirs was being copied by another?
Assuming we're referring to my antagonist since he's the only one who does any work that involves patents, then I suppose he'd file a lawsuit for everything the opposing party had, plus anything his children might earn too just to prove that he can make people suffer.
In essence, he's thrusting the opponents family into poverty for generations to come.

Lisa would file lawsuit after lawsuit, hiring Larry "The Knockout" Jones, the meanest, nastiest SOB of an attorney in my fan-fic, and thus insuring her victory in court and even more money in the bank.

As for what I (as an author) would do, you need only ask a certain member of this forum (though not active in the FFL). Bay knows who I'm talking about...

Casey would shrug and figure that they were probably better off with his really lame writing.

Caro would get extremely mad and not do much else.

Grant would sigh wearily and go on with his life.

Sheridan would go all Adam Canfield (yeah, Adam Canfield, it's the best example I can think of right now) and try to dig up what they did and make it front-page news on whatever newspaper hasn't been bought and controlled by the local monopolizing company happens to rule over Holon at the time.
 
If my fic were stolen, Eric, the character I named after myself in my Digimon fic here, would get his Agumon (who looks like a mix between Taichi's Agumon in Digimon Adventure, and Masaru's Agumon in Digimon Savers) to destroy the thief.

Agumon would Digivolve to Greymon, then RizeGreymon, and if all else fails, Degenerate back to Agumon and Biomerge to VictoryGreymon, to fight the fic-stealer.

Hmm, we get these type of questions a lot.... Wes would go after the guy himself, I suppose, and get his revenge via his Pokemon who would be indigiant about it as well. Rui would be rather annoyed about it, and... would go and tell that person off, or get Wes to do something about it. XD

Johnson would try to throw them in jail and fail at it, Sherles the same minue the failing part, Miror B would kick them with his dance steps...

Because I assume we are all crazy here, is there certain conditions or things that have to be met, before you can start writing?

Nothing really for me, except musics. I really do like working with music to keep me going, heh. Although I can work without it fine, I suppose, I just like listening to it constantly. I also like planning out scenes many times in my head, but I don't believe that's that weird... =/


Also peoples! There's the Beta thread that could use more people. =P It is currently understaffed atm... =/ *shot for advertising but feels it needs to be said in a vague hope for...something*
 
Are there certain conditions or things that have to be met, before you can start writing?

Like you, I like to have some music playing. And I also play out the scenes in my head multiple times. Other than that, nothing really.

My work decided to take off some hours of mine... Even though it is only 4 hours, I still don't think it is cool, and might talk to the manager about it...

Otherwise school work and sleep seem to be my thing...

Bob, if it meant more inclination to do some fanfic writing in general (as a sort of motivation), I might not mind. XD
 
One day I went to work and found I was only scheduled for one hour. My co-workers asked me to stay longer, but I said screw it. My mom didn't want to pick me up so soon, so I walked the freeway home. It was a kick ass day.

lol... I'm not so sure how American law works, but in Canada, if you show up for a scheduled day of work, and are told you are not needed, or are given under 3 hours of work, you get paid 3 hours of work regardless.

I love those days when everything seems to go your way. XD

Once, back in Malaysia, I woke up to find out there was a Thunderstorm outside. One of those Southwestern Monsoons that used to hit Malaysia before Global Warming became serious. I got up, bathed and admired the pouring rain while drinking some hot cocoa. To top it all off, it was a Saturday. *Screw Global Warming.*
 
Mizan, that would definitely be one of the high points of my life.

Anyway, my WRT hasn't gotten much training lately. I think I'll need to go level-grinding on some Writer Blocks before I go and face Chapter 13 again (or, alternatively, deciding on a title for The Super-Secret Project You All Knew But Forgot About). Hopefully I'll beat him this time... of course, I'll need to finish fangirling over watching the Black Jack anime first. :3

Let's see... Sadie would probably send them a message asking thme to stop, and that if they don't she'll go to court or something. She'd find a civilized solution to it. Either that, or she'd ask them to give her credit for the original idea.
Rena would walk up to their front door and say it to their face - STOP COPYING MY WORK, YOU BUM! (Her exact words)
Dalton would do pretty much the same thing Rena would, only he would force them to delete all the files before leaving.
