One reason why I didn't use LMGTFY is because it forces the search history onto you. It's not bad if one is searching for the proper way to punctuate dialogue, but I do recall one time it would have resulted in porn. And I don't want that forced onto me or anyone.
Though a way to avoid that is by actually telling the person what it is that you're linking them to. The example I gave was just a random tinypic link without any explanation as to what it was.
Also, by directly linking someone to the results, I find that it causes less wandering around lost on the Internet. I mean, what if someone is wrong on the Internet!?
My first fanfic was actually never posted. I didn't post anything until last year-ish, when I had been writing for a while. My first fanfic is sitting on the floor of my old room, buried in a box. I wrote the entire five-notebook worth by hand.
What do you do if you loose interest in your current fic and have ideas for another?
I toss the new idea around in my head for a bit, to see if it has any worth. If it does, then I write it down somewhere and work on it for a bit before I lose my strong feelings to write it. But I keep my main focus on my current fic.
Then again, I don't actually focus on one fic at a time. Just yesterday alone I worked on two multi-chapter fics and wrote four one-shots.
Also, it's "lose", not "loose".
While writing, have you ever been hit with the sudden realization, "Woah, I'm controlling a Mini-Universe!"?
Not really. I don't control my characters. I act more like a god who writes down what they do. I sit back, watch to see how my characters make it through whatever situation I find them in, then write it down. Sometimes I might poke them to get a certain result, but generally I don't control them in any way.
