I thought it was such a relief to find out that the clothing customization features were kept from Pokémon Versions X and Y! I mean, there's nothing wrong with characters that don't change their clothes, but it's refreshing and a relief to know that GF at least had their ears to the rails to hear the feedback on how the people wanted to see the feature make a return. What do you think about the customization? Do you use it or do you just not care?

Ah, yes, it's so nice to have choices. One thing I was particularly excited to have stumbled upon is that the hat is actually removable! One thing that bugged me about X/Y's customization was how you had to wear a hat, so it's nice to see that with my setup, at least (female, the hairstyle that has "romantic" in its name; I forget what it's called), that you don't need to wear a hat.

I've been skimming through the new clothes shops as I get to a new town. I haven't changed anything aside from my hair. I'm super picky with clothes in real life, and Pokemon is no different. I haven't found anything in particular that I want. I'm just waiting until I encounter some pretty dresses! I did like the fact that we were able to remove the hat.

I have to admit the clothing options this time around fit a lot with the climate of Alola. I'm now trying to buy all the clothes as a postgame sidequest, and maybe I might try out the clothes dying feature too one day.

I haven't gotten the game yet, but ill definitely look for an outfit that matches what I wear in real life. I live in Florida, which is tropical enough to fit Alola I guess:

    -my hair
    -flip flops
    -shorts
-casual button down shirt (with white undershirt or nothing if thats whats available in the game) or T-shirt

I dont want to spend too much money on clothes because I would rather spend it on pertinent items, but I think it would be fun.

Clothing customization is good and all, but what I didn't like was the way they do the hair cut and color. As a matter of fact, I had to waste 10000 pokepounds, for absol-freaking-utely nothing! They don't show any sort of sample of how the cut and color would look like on the player's face. I actually wasted my first half on some gosh-darn hair style and the ash-brown color, which only served to make my face look all the more disgusting, and I spent the next half on making things back to the original.

Customization for male players ended up getting the short stick again, because in case if anyone knows, the male players were screwed over in the customization options by having slightly less options than female players.

Here, it's just as worse - the male options are literally half of what the female options are. Face it, X/Y and now S/M are definitely much more worth playing as a female trainer if you're a fan of the customization.

It's nice that we had more choices, though I was a little upset that all of the graphic shirts for men were t-shirts while for the girls they were either tank tops, or not available.

I also found out that certain colors of the clothes are version exclusive. I'm playing Moon and most of the clothes I was able to get were mainly green, blue, navy, purple and all those "cold" shades. Granted, Festival Plaza has the option of dying your clothes in different colors but you have to admit it's annoying when you want a certain color and it's not the one mainly found in your version.

Maybe I just need to play as a girl and deal with it, haha.

    lol at that

But I guess the customization was intended to appeal more to female players, given girls' typical love of fashion. Also, girls can wear skirts and pants, as well as having typically longer hair meaning more styling options.

I just -love- the clothes in these games.... I keep buying things and changing my outfit almost daily. I'm totally not like that irl though. haha

The great thing about character customization in Sun & Moon is how early you can access it, that was one of the first things I did when reaching the first major city. I'm also impressed by the wider selection of clothes and accessories too!

Does this apply to hair too? Are there certain hairstyles and hair colors only available in one of the two versions?

I'm sure the hair options aren't version exclusive.

The fact that the clothes are version exclusive for certain colours is to likely encourage use of the dye stands in Festival Plaza. That's just my speculation though.

It's nice to see so many passionate about the customization choices in the game. I am a bit irked about version exclusive items though. I was hoping that both would be able to benefit from the same outfits so you would be able to choose from a more varied selection. Maybe the options change during the times of day? Has anyone verified that? I remember Pokémon X and Y versions requiring return visits as their stock changed daily.

I can inform that the clothing selection doesn't change on a daily basis. You are stuck with the same options based entirely on what version you have.

I'm not that crazy about the clothing options really. I know it's Hawaii but having only t-shirts and tank tops to choose from is super boring.

Not to mention you look ridiculous when you're climbing the icy mountain.

For the most part, I'm happy with the customization choices. Especially the hair! I love my pink brown pigtails. I do think X&Y had prettier clothes overall though, and I'm a bit disappointed there are no dresses at all this time around (unless I missed them?)
