Final Day: Day 30 - Favorite Anime

Day 08 - Favorite Acion/Adventure Anime

Just like CarefulWetPaint, Action/Adventure are the main Genre I watch of anything and everything. Most entertaining, must have it within my blood :P

Action: Code Geass
Straight up action within every episode and about 3/4 of all the episodes are all action pack battles of some sort.

Adventure: Tears of Tiara
Very adventurous, kept me interested for the long haul. Some voice actors were kinda annoying, but it didn't ruin the show for me!

Day 07 - Most Treasured Anime-Related Merchandise
Probably my figurine of Sakura Kinomoto in her iconic pink neko costume :) Unfortunately part of her wand broke off while I was moving from my college dorm, but still... it's Sakura-chan... in her pink neko costume :P

Day 8 - Favourite Action/Adventure Anime
For me it's the Gunsmith Cats Bulletproof OAV. Girls, guns, muscle cars, high explosives, illegal smuggling... what more do you need from an action show?

Day 08 - Favorite Action/Adventure

Hmm... I guess it can be considered as an action/fantasy anime, so I'd say Angel Beats. I liked this anime, even though I was disappointed by the end, and that it would have deserved one or two others episodes... (it's only 13 episodes long)

Day 08 - Favourite Action/Adventure Anime
Cross between Pokemon and Mew Mew... But I'm gonna have to go with Pokemon. The adventure element of that sure is what makes me love it so much, plus the battles are just awesome. x]

Day 08 - Favorite Action/Adventure

Easily Baccano! It's what part of what sparked my recent interest in anime again. Its action sequences were nicely animated, the storytelling method was intriguing and kept me interested throughout the whole series, and, most importantly for me, it had a really fun cast of characters.

Day 08 - Favorite Action/Adventure Anime

Slayers

Spoiler:

This is primarily since I've been watching it recently, but Slayers has a great balance of comedy and action. Also Explosions. Lots and Lots of Explosions.

Day 09 - Favorite Slice of Life

Clannad is an amazing series. I highly recommend it. Yes, romance is a major part of this series. This Anime is perfect for representing how life can be and as a guy it does get a bit emotional for me. What can I say, I'm only human, and this Anime will get you good with your emotions. Clannad expands through several seasons, including a "Clannad: Afterlife" story. Another Anime is very similar: Kanon

Day 09 - Favorite Slice of Life
Yotsuba&! (Yotsubato!) by far is probably my most favourite. It's quite a popular series about the life of a young girl and just her daily adventures throughout the world.

I'm not sure how to explain why it's so great, but the author just perfectly depicts how a child filled with such wonder and curiousity would respond to the little things in the world them. Things that are normal to us, but absolutely amazing to a child, like a new toy, or the cameras at the shops that show your face on a screen as you walk past (see below). It might be hard to understand if you don't have a younger sibling or child yourself, but it's magical in a way, and really adorable.

If you haven't read it already, you should.

Day 04 - Anime Guilty Pleasure

Does Mirai Nikki count? Oh wait, I think Lucky Star can be considered as one, haha. I've seen a few episodes and frankly enjoyed them for odd reasons. And people could possibly think I shouldn't even be watching that anime. But yeah I haven't seen all the episodes so it's a minor deal.

Day 05 - Anime you think had the best/most intriguing art

Going for most intriguing and answering One Piece. I think the non-conventional style that the creator used for this series was spot-on for its unique behavior as an action/adventure anime. I enjoy watching the characters in this style and I can't believe I almost pushed this anime aside when I first saw it because of the art. But now I think it's one of the interesting ones there is.

Day 06 - Favorite AMV/MAD

Spoiler:

Thing is, I don't watch AMVs/MADs so I'll just throw in a random one I happened to encounter and like. Final Fantasy VI to Full Metal Alchemist OP2. Hope this is okay since it doesn't depict an actual anime. Hey it's one of the only few of these things I liked this much! Sigh, consider this a use of the cheat, then.

Day 07 - Most treasured anime-related merchandise (if you don't have any, something you want)

Probably the stacks of anime DVDs that we have. My brother and I used to collect them until we resorted to the internet. Oh and a few manga volumes.

Day 08 - Favorite Action/Adventure

Saving Hunter x Hunter for later so I'll go with the incredibly short Angel Beats! as my pick. I love this anime and wish it were longer. I also enjoyed watching its quirkiness and the students in action, along with the plot and enjoyable characters. And it's got a lot of heart in it despite being largely action-oriented. Really funny, go watch it.

Special mention to Mirai Nikki since I'm not sure where else in the favorite series it can be mentioned.

Day 09 - Favorite Slice of Life

K-On! I just liked it a lot and watched the first season even though I felt like I shouldn't be watching something like it. Now I forgot about it pretty much, and I don't know if I'll ever catch the second season. That reminds me, this could fit in the Anime Guilty Pleasure category, too.

EDIT: And how can I forget Nodame Cantabile. Goodness, my memory's getting really bad.

Day 9

I don't think I could pick a favourite, so many to choose from. Azumanga Daioh, Nodame Cantabile, Haibane Renmei, Aria the Animation, Hidamari Sketch, Nichijou, Moyashimon, Beck, Bakuman and Yotsuba all scored 8+

I wouldnt mind watching one though to see what they are like. Any suggestions??

If you want one with some sort of plot I'd go with Nodame Cantabile or Beck, if you'd rather just laugh I'd try Nichijou, Azumanga or Hidamari Sketch, if you want a relaxing show you can't go wrong with Haibane Renmei or Aria.

The genre isn't for everyone but it's probably my favourite.

Day 09 - Favorite Slice of Life
Make me choose just one? That's probably the hardest decision I'll ever have to make, so I'll include three that I consider among my favorites:

To Heart, Sentimental Journey, and Kita e: Diamond Dust Drops. I like these series because there's nothing over-the-top about them. They're simple, relaxing shows about the everyday lives of the characters and they make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :)

Day 09 - Favorite Slice of Life

Azumanga Daioh. It's really the only one I watch that's real-lifey, but its awesome and relatable. Plus its damn funny at times x] Love Osaka she's my favourite; plus the gym teacher ahah <3

Day 09 - Favorite Slice of Life

Natsume Yuujinchou/Natsume's Book of Friends. Or at least it's the most slice of life-esque show I've seen. From the soft-coloured animation, to the music, the series is just very relaxing. I also enjoy the supernatural aspect that it has, with all the spirits and their varying personalities. And despite these elements, I can somewhat relate to Natsume's not wanting to be a bother to anyone, and the show has yet to fail make me at least teary-eyed by the end of each episode (though I haven't seen the 4th season yet).

Day 09 - Favorite Slice of Life

Aria the Animation/Natural/Original
Spoiler:

Not really pure realism here, but this is definitely one of the most calming shows I've ever seen.

Day 10 - Favourite Sci-fi/Mecha

Would definitely have to be GITS. Its a great sci-fi anime imo. I really like it a whole lot and the idea of taking someones consciousness and transplanting it into a cybernetic body so they can continue to live was very interesting to me.

Day 10 - Favourite Sci-fi/Mecha

Heroic Age
The whole Mecha/Sci-fi/Space/Action genres definitely grabs my attention thanks to this Anime. War in space, different worlds, action packed, what more can you ask for?

Day 10

That is a two way tie between The Ideon: Be Invoked and Serial Experiments Lain. Be Invoked just made my draw drop, such a stunning conclusion to what was a pretty average series.

Day 05 - Anime you think had the best/most intriguing art
FMA and Nodame cantabile

Day 06 - Favorite AMV/MAD
I don't really watch AMV/MADs.

Day 07 - Most treasured anime-related merchandise
I would like to have a few DVDs of some animes

Day 08 - Favorite Action/Adventure
Tears of Tiara and Fullmetal Alchemist

Day 09 - Favorite Slice of Life
Nodame cantabile, K-ON! and Kaichou wa Maid-sama!
