    Welcome to Third Generation's featured thread- the Poll of the Month! Seeing as this board's a bit slower than most on PokéCommunity, we'll be doing monthly polls rather than weekly ones, but the premise will be the same- pick any of the options from the poll above, and feel free to post about your choices. Also, if any of you have a question that you would like to see featured as the PotM, feel free to send me a VM with your idea(s), or leave it with your post in this thread. If your topic gets picked, you may even be awarded with a special emblem! Now with all that said, this month's poll question is:

    "Which family of Fire type starters do you prefer?"

    Both popular choices among Pokémon fans, the Torchic and Charmander lines are often selected favorites when asking someone their favorite starter Pokémon. But this month, we put the two families head-to-head to see who will reign supreme. So the simple question is- who are your favorites?​
     
    I voted for Torchic line because I liked Hoenn's starters better plus it's a more unique design compared to Charizard. Blaziken is really the only badass chicken while we already have loads of other badass dragons.
     
    Blaziken is a killer. Bur Charizard is ultra Killer. Charizard is my best and favorite Pokemon.
     
    As much as I've come to appreciate the Charmander line over the years (I love Charizard as one of the most iconic Pokémon of all time, and it's great all around as well including two awesome Megas), Torchic was the starter I eventually went with for my main file of my first game- Emerald. Blazer blossomed into a Combusken, and I gave him to a friend who trained him up quite a bit. As a Blaziken, I used him quite a lot for most of my adventures in Hoenn. Blaziken was my favorite Pokémon at the time, and Blazer was my best buddy in the games. He was often somewhat of an imaginary friend for me at times (as were many other of my friends from Emerald), and I adored Blaziken's appearance in Destiny Deoxys.

    While my love for Blaziken today is sadly nowhere near where it used to be, I always appreciate it for being a primary source of my passion for Pokémon in my childhood. I've since moved Blazer up through Platinum, then HeartGold where he finally reached level 100, I believe during a battle with a trainer's Lucario, then to White, and finally to today's games, bringing him back to his old home of Hoenn in Alpha Sapphire. I've rematched the E4 with him like the good ol' days, and even named my initial Torchic in the game after him as well. I've had many good memories with him, and he's still with me today, and plan to bring him through all the future generations to come.


    Needless to say, I prefer the Torchic line. :)
     
    I like Torchick's line over Charmanders because I like the versatility of Blaziken. Charizard doesn't do anything special. Hydreigon is a better sweeper (dispite his x4 fairy weakness) Talonflame is better with the same STAB typing, but Blaziken is only even threatened by being a speedy Fire Fighting sweeper by Infernape, who doesn't have a Mega or even a powerful hidden ability like Speed Boost (which is OP af)
     
    Torchic and its evolutionary line are my least favourite of the Hoenn starters, I still have never picked it in a playthrough of RSE or ORAS. Charmander on the other hand is my favourite starter from Kanto, I chose it in my first ever playthrough of FireRed and fell in love with all three of those fire breathing lizards xD
     
    The Charmander line is my favorite line of starters, and has very special meaning to me. So I voted for it.

    Not that I don't like Blaziken--it's the signature Pokemon of my favorite anime character--but Charizard is just better to me.
     
    The Charmander line. They are my favourites in the Pokémon world. Charmander, Charmaleon and Charizard are the three awesomest Pokémon ever(Well, according to me).
     
    Charmander's evolutionary line for me, Charmander was my first starter and Charizard was my first level 100 (same game, Red) and the line's very dear to me. Was a bit difficult at first since Torchic was my first Ruby starter (excluding XY, I always picked the Fire starter first) and no doubt the one I had the most fun with, but in the end Charmander's line took the cake. ♥ Still love them both to death though. ^^
     
    I choose Charmander line because:
    *I adore Gen I pokemons
    *Charizard which it is a flying/dragon type whom are my favorites after the dark type ofc.
    *The looks also count, the entire line have a badass design and concept...

    As much as I love Torchic, Charmander was the very first Pokemon I ever started with. Its move set is no laughing matter. Neither is Blaziken's, but for me, the Charmander line will hold the top place in my heart
     
    I chose the torchic line cause I love blaziken and all but also because I feel that charizard is so overused and at this point boring :P
     
    I chose charmander line, because of charizard, yes my first starter.
     
    I was big into the TV series when I was a kid, so with Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander being the main Pokémon characters (and my four favourites in all of the games), I have to give my vote to the Charmander line of evolution.

    ...But if I could, I would obviously vote for Pikachu ;)
