Fresh cut Christmas trees smell so good

we have an artificial one and always have, my mum is allergic to pine and my cats have a tendency to pull it apart anyway so a fresh one wouldn't last very long. Think its going up on Wednesday.

Unless you can find me a mini-tree or something to put into this apartment, then there's no tree being put up here, artificial or real. Hasn't been one in this apartment ever since I moved into here, I can't be bothered. Although I haven't seen anybody use a real tree in like...ever, really. Not that I've known of, at least. Maybe I have seen them in use and just didn't realize it.

(Sudden thought, maybe I should find a bonsai tree and a small string of lights, and that could be my christmas tree.)

We've always used a fake tree, but in recent years we've put up Scentsicles...which you basically hang inside the tree and they make it smell like a real tree. They're only like $3 on sale and last most of the season, and real trees smell amazing so it's worth it to at least get a little bit of that experience.

My household has always put up an artificial tree. I wouldn't want to put up a real Christmas tree simply because of the amount of care it'd need, such as watering and also the fact it can pose to be a fire hazard, especially with the factor that the lights can get hot enough to cause the tree to catch fire.

I just use our fake tree and buy all Glade's seasonal ****.

So today we decided to put up our Christmas tree and I didn't feel like digging our old tree out of storage so I convinced my parents that we should just get a fresh one.
oddly enough my mom and i also went into town today and we got fresh tree! we've had the same christmas tree for 19 years
What kind of plant lasts, dead, with green leaves for even one week, let alone two decades? Are they treated with some sort of preservative?

the artificial kind we store in our basement. however, i'm not too sure about how long the real tree lasts. it seems like the problem with the real tree isn't quite the fact that it turns brown but rather the needles falling off. i informed of any preservatives added to the tree but they told us to water it everyday and they really pushed us to buy tree conditioner.

My family uses an artificial one. One year we actually got a real one and it was awesome! Honestly, an artificial tree saves money over time and it may be easier to put up and down.

I got real trees for 20 years. It's been two years that my parents bought an artificial one, and I'm still mad lol. It's not the same and it will never be...

I was referring to an old artificial tree in storage lmao. I don't think that it's possible for a real tree to last longer than a few weeks :x

You know, I thought the only reason I ever wouldn't have a fresh Christmas tree was because I couldn't - which just so happened to be the case the last couple of years due to my apartment lease being a tad stuffy. Buuuut... honestly I've just gotten used to having artificial trees.

They sell those little sticks that make 'em smell like pine anyway... BD

We always have a real tree. Most people here seem to use real trees, I only ever knew of one family who used a fake one. Then again I don't know so many people's traditions D: We haven't bought the tree yet, that usualy happens one day before christmas (or on christmas some more years ago but that got too stressful). I like the smell of real trees and we never light cnadles when we aren't watching (and only for a short time anyway), so...

Our family never uses artificial trees, we always get them new. But I do see the appeal of the ones that can be re-used, even if nowadays i'm not the one who does the picking for it.

To be honest the appeal isn't that much. At least to me. A good artificial tree will cost about $150 or more while a real one is only about $60 or so. While it's true you can use the artificial one many many times, you have to store it and sometimes it gets bent or broken. I just find it easier to buy a real one and then toss it or burn if afterwards.

I grew up with artificial trees, and I've never actually been in a house with a real one, either. So apart from the scent, I don't really see the hype in getting a real tree, plus I've heard it's really messy thanks to the falling needles. This reminds me, they're selling real trees in the City centre for around £15 for the biggest ones and about £5 for the smaller ones, so it's a really tempting bargain.

Dunno if we put up the Christmas tree at the house yet. It's probably not a real one this year because the dog's literally allergic to everything!

We never use a real tree because well we can't be bothered with the mess it creates. It might smell great and add to the Christmas spirit, but my parents despise having to clean all the thistles up from the floor and furniture, haha.

Going out and either chopping a tree down or buying a fresh one is always something that I've wanted to do! Every year from since I can remember we set up an artificial tree and it's just not the same imo! I think we do this because my dog is allergic to everything and it's less hassle. When I get my own place I want my own tree though.

I live in an apartment and we did use our bigger artificial tree for a couple of years, but keeping it all the way down in storage was annoying and dirty. Wasn't in that great'a shape, so for the last two or three years we've used a smaller artificial tree. It's cute, but next week we wanna get a bigger one again. Still fake. We haven't used a real one in years. Only done that maybe four times in my life.
