Been meaning to post this a few times now, but I keep forgetting to.
Last weekend I went to my first pony convention, and I was actually surprised that there were about 1000 people there when I went on Sunday. I actually had no intentions of going, but got dragged along since my friend said she didn't want to go alone. I wish my phone had been working when I was there, since there was a lot of great cosplay and a bunch of merchandise worth seeing. I only picked up a few small things (a couple stickers, 2 small prints, and a Funko mystery figure which turned out to be Lyra), but I wasn't planning on spending any money when I went in, haha.
I did get a chance to meet a few of the voice actors on the show though, which was pretty cool. On top of saying a quick hello to Michelle Creber (Apple Bloom), Vincent Tong (Flash Sentry), Peter New (Big Mac and others), and Maryke Hendriks (Gilda/Sonata), I got to chat with Rebecca Shoichet (Sunset Shimmer) for a bit, and managed to snag
an autograph, while my friend got a picture with her. She was actually very talkative, and said there were a lot of good things coming up in the show soon, which was exciting to hear!
To be honest, I felt a bit out of place when I was there since I'm not quite as hardcore a fan as most of the people that showed up, but it was definitely an interesting experience to say the least.
