You're forgetting that GF focuses a lot on their home market (Japan), so if they were willing to give the Japanese fans only three days to pick a starter based on their middle evolutions, I can easily see them willing to do so to the worldwide fans. Besides, I'm sure that they've caught on to the fact that Corocoro leaks days early by now, so we'll actually have 8-5 days. The same goes for a video reveal...some of them have been leaked a day or two earlier.

You do have a point, but I still see it as too short of a timeframe to make a final decision on a starter.
 
We've already had two trailers in two days, but we'll see if they can pull off a third and make this a weekend with enough news to keep this section interesting.

I could see another trailer coming out today but we'll see if what gets revealed does debunk the Rainbow Greninja leak or not.
 
It would be nice to get something today, I just don't know whether it's likely considering we already got an announcement with the opening ceremony.
 
Are we really getting something today? Sounds like it could just be something that was interpreted wrong?

Also, in regards to upcoming news. How soon before release (for 5th and 6th gen) did they start revealing version exclusives? We're so close to release now and yet we know very little about what makes each version different.

We know very little at what is in the games as is. We just now started getting something other than pokemon. We still don't even know the names of towns like what was pointed out earlier in another thread I think. And we almost get them instantly. All we know is Melemele Island and Akala Island.

XY was June with Skrelp and Clauncher. However, I am not sure if it was confirmed they were version exclusives yet.

BW was also in June with Reuniclus and Gothitelle. However, again, I a not sure if they were confirmed version exclusives then.

I think we will. Rockruff is supposed to have a secret so that's something to look forward to about. Besides that, I expect more Pokemon, maybe some more trial captains, and some Megas( if we are getting any new ones this generation.) I feel they might put some more focus on Z-crystals since they seem to be a huge thing for SuMo's marketing, but considering what we've gotten so far, anythings goes.
 
I still think we may get another trailer this coming week. If they want to be surprising, it would come right after worlds when most think news is done for the month and then are surprised like last month.

It may not show new pokemon, but I still think we will have some sort of gameplay trailer. If not this week, then we probably won't get any new news till the 1st of September or so.

I agree in that we barely know nothing about the locations in Alola because during 5th and 6th Gen pre-release we usually had a location in the new region known by this point. It is also very surprising that June came and went with no version exclusives for 7th Gen known, since we still only know Solgaleo and Lunala's status as version exclusive due to being the mascots.

Also, I'm pretty sure Skrelp and Clauncher's version exclusivity was not confirmed upon their reveal, but the CoroCoro released in July 2013 did reveal the first version exclusives that were confirmed upon reveal which were Swirlix and Spritzee. As far as I know, Skrelp and Clauncher's status wasn't confirmed until late during pre-release, if not after the game release already.

Reuniclus and Gothitelle I recall were confirmed version exclusive upon their first reveal in CoroCoro as well.
 
Is there any updates about when we'll be getting news other than through CoroCoro? Or, will we have to wait until September for more news?
 
Just realized that Mega Evolutions were first officially announced in August 2013, that's two months before the release of X/Y. I'm wondering if they're planning on doing the same for S/M? We have an imminent CoroCoro leak that promises the announcement of the secret behind Rockruff's evolution, this happens to be during Septembmer which will be two months before the release of Sun and Moon.

CoroCoro typically releases on the 15th of a month (unless if the 15th is a Sunday, during which it'll release the day before instead I think) but the scans usually get leaked around 3-4 days beforehand.
 
I loved seeing those additional scenes. Looks like we'll have some nice interaction with the Trial Captains. I thought we would just recieve the mission, do the requirements, and then talk again to the Captains to complete it, but I guess I was wrong! Also, the way Totem Pokémon appear to battle you is amazing!
The riding Pokémon feature is looking pretty great. I can't wait to ride a Mudsdale.

And yeah, Alolan Ninetales really looks gorgeous.
 
not 100% sure it's something new, but it was to me.
I noticed that when mini or changed after being hit its type changed.

I suppose just because you're an evolved form doesn't mean your pre-evolutions would get an Alola form, it seems. I wonder if this would apply to Alola Meowth, and whether or not Persion would also get an Alola form.

Also, the way that Slandslash made it rain icicles is awesome.

Exeggute is the seed to exeggutor so wouldn't need to have a different form as the exeggutor form difference is about how it has evolved/adapted to its surroundings.

Persian I am certain would have a different form because its evolving from something that has adapted to be different to its pre evolution, much like sandslash and ninetails.
