Hahaha what if everyone just killed off the very first episode and the next twenty episodes for both seasons was just following the normal lives of the White Walkers.

[spoilertitle='S7E02: Stormborn' stuff]I have no love for the Greyjoys or anyone who died in that battle really, but obviously this will have huge ramifications for Daenerys' plans - this does mean now more than ever she will really need to ally with Jon so eh, we'll see how this pans out.

Do you guys have any hope for Jorah? I appreciate Samwell's efforts but this is Game of Thrones so I don't want to get my hopes up.

and OH MY HEART, the scenes in the North

The tension between Sansa and Jon have been killing me, especially with Baelish's ominous looks, but they balanced it so, so well; I'm constantly torn between "this is a really touching moment" and "will Sansa actually betray Jon" - I am a bit afraid of him making an enemy of Baelish like that though, he's a scary man to cross. But to be fair, that wouldn't be the moment to make Baelish turn on him, clearly you can't trust him no matter what.

I actually didn't understand what Arya meant when she said "that's not you" to Nymeria so I looked it up, and the context the showrunners gave was sweet imo. It's supposed to be a parallel to herself and what she said to Ned in season 1; she is not domesticated and neither is her wolf. When Ned told her she will grow up to be a pretty lady with a lord for a husband and live in a castle with her children, she tells him "that's not me", because she's wild and has her own path in mind, and now that she wants to tame Nymeria and have her by her side, she is saying that she understands "that's not you", because clearly she's meant to be wild and with her own pack.[/spoilertitle]

Reading that bit about Nymeria actually makes a lot more sense now; I was with you when I was super confused when she said that line - I'm curious if Nymeria will actually play some kind of role in the future or if that will be it.

Can we talk about that amazing naval battle? The ramifications are huuuuge. I was under the impression that the "treasure" that the uncle was going to bring Cersei? For awhile I thought he was going after Tyrion but nooooppppe Cersei is going to get some motherly revenge now. She'll most likely torture/kill the Dawn daughter in front of that woman as payback for killing Cersei's daughter. It's gonna get goooood.

Also very happy that my Unsullyed hero finally got with the aide. That scene was a tad too long for my liking, but I'm sure it was done to meet the wants of the show's fans who probably asked for it. However, I have a strong feeling he is going to get killed at Casterly Rock - there ain't no happy endings in Game of Thrones.

I know it was always going to happen, but hurrah Jorah is saved! I know he's destined to get some heartbreaking ending were he dies protecting his Khaleesi, but I still hold that faint hope for it to all end well for him.

Other than that, it still felt a bit slow in many places until the redeeming fight on the ships at the end. What a great scene, with some amazing acting from Pilou Asbaek & Alfie Allen. Good riddance to the sand snakes. Euron has came from nowhere to become a big player this season.

That Nymeria explanation above is much nicer. I assumed it ran off because Arya had become unrecognisable as a member of the faceless men.

Reasonably good episode, but I'm sure there is much better to come this season.

This was a pleasing episode. It wasn't the fastest but things progressed nicely and there were some fairly significant events. Cersei now has a slightly better chance at defeating Dany but it seems like, with Jon going to Dragonstone, Dany will eventually join the fight against the White Walkers. This will probably be after some battles with Westerosi armies so the build up isn't wasted, but with few episodes remaining overall, winter will become an overwhelming factor for the entire story.

With Arya almost certainly going to reunite with Sansa, I imagine Baelish will be taken care of. As much as I enjoy his character and what he has done in creating the chaos he thrives in, he won't be able to do much when the White Walkers attack. He wants the throne and Sansa, not really something he will be able to grasp once winter properly hits the capital.
I would be surprised if he makes it out this season alive.

Euron is a boss. He has grown on me this season. His season 6 appearance at the Kingsmoot wasn't too satisfying but the new look and general performance is spot on.
A genuine threat, I have no idea where his and Cersei's characters are going with winter coming to King's Landing and the show coming to an end.

Oh, so that's what the naval battle is from one of the trailers a while back. But yeah,
I agree the battle there was cool and that will cause some big changes further down.

Man, I nearly cried during the Nymeria scene. The explanation makes it even sadder. =<

I definitely think (/hope?) Nymeria's going to come back at some point - considering the portrayal here, I doubt she will ever be Arya's companion in the same way the other wolves were to the other Stark kids, but I think she will show up again to help her in later episodes. Otherwise that seemed like a fairly pointless encounter, and everything happens for a reason in GoT. :P

Aw man I didn't even think of that, is there still a Sand Snake alive? I saw two of them dead on the bow of the ship, but if one is still around, killing her in front of her mom definitely seems like a Cersei thing to do. I just assumed they were all killed off there since the Sand Snakes have been so painfully unpopular among fans and extra, made sense for them to just off them all in one scene, lol.

Oh my god yes. Say what you will about Theon's character but Alfie is such an underrated actor - his face in that scene was brilliant, you could literally see him "Reek" up and you can imagine the PTSD/memories going through his mind in that moment.

That was a pretty good episode, some significant stuff went down and I loved the Nymeria reunion, it was pretty touching. Can't wait for this week to see Jon and Dany meeting which should be super interesting.

Also, that naval battle was pretty epic, felt bad for Theon though, it's as if he just switched on Reek mode. But when you think about it, he did the best thing, if he had challenged Euron, both him and Yara would have died, but after escaping, he can report back to Dany and plot revenge.

It's not unreasonable that Theon made the best choice possible to give him the chance to fight another day, but part of me believes that the more straightforward and therefore the possibly likelier explanation is that he just reek'd out and he's broken plain and simple. Although if that was the case, they would've hammered the point home just by killing off Theon and Yara right there. Perhaps they want to undermine Theon's "recovery" from Ramsay even longer by drawing it out? It would certainly give me something to be shocked about (which I haven't really been for the past season). Of course, if he is alive, that allows him to get back at Euron like we've all been saying and would make redemption, not downfall the end of Theon's arc. We've seen quite a bit of redemption lately though the Hound and Jaime though, so I don't know if we need any more happy endings. I don't think Theon or Yara are necessary in the plot any longer, so on balance I think their story will end disappointingly and bloody.

I've been watching Vikings too and I have to say, very well done by Pilou Asbaek. He plays a very convincing fantasy viking. That scene where he mounts one of the Sand Snakes on her spear in the air was definitely inspired by when Rollo did the same in Vikings.

I'm hoping for twists and turns, however. Especially regarding Jon vs. Dany and Littlefinger vs. Sansa. It's not really exciting to watch the protagonists just get what they want. I want drama.

It would've been suicide for Theon to fight Euron, because Euron's cronies would join in and cut him down. Going by TV logic though, they would stand aside and watch (see: S5 Sand Snakes)... But that'd be poor writing.

Was that Yara's entire fleet? If not, this will give Theon a second chance to lead the backup fleet, save Yara from Cersei, etc. Agreeing with Kanzler, they would've killed him if he wasn't going to make a comeback. Dunno if he'll be successful though.

I'm curious to see how Dany will react. Will she break down and whip out the dragons, etc. like Olenna suggests? If so, at least one of the dragons is bound to die to that crossbow. The big black one is going to die eventually to either that or the White Walkers. I doubt they'd pass up on the drama.

I really enjoyed this episode, especially the final scene at Highgarden (although, who wouldn't enjoy that?).

A lot of people seem to dislike Dany now, but I think the stance she took in this episode was entirely reasonable. She has no reason to listen to Jon's claims about the White Walkers and she was even generous enough to give him the Dragonglass. I could understand people previously disliking Dany for various reasons, but this episode didn't provide any reasons to convert to hating Dany so it's a strange one for me.

Pilou Asbaek again kills it as Euron, I'm looking forward to seeing him for the rest of the season. I feel like he's the last big character we're going to see introduced, so we should enjoy him as much as possible.

Speaking of next week, it seems some hackers have stolen 1.5 TB of data from HBO, including a lot of Game Of Thrones stuff, so beware of spoilers.

I really loved this episode, it was kinda good how they just avoided the massive battle scenes to get to the cool conversations at the end. Euron just gets better and better as well he's so funny.

I think it's gonna be interesting to see all the Stark children's relationship with each other now they've changed so much, obviously Sansa was quite weirded out by Bran and I think it'll be a similar situation when Arya returns, now she's even more violent than ever.

Just wanna touch on Dany and Jon as well, she really didn't have a reason to believe or help Jon, like honestly, look at it from her point of view, she's been preparing for many years for what she's about to do and sacrificed/suffered a lot, Dany isn't just gonna give up everything to go and destroy something she's never even heard of before from the word of a man she's never met.

Yeah, like everyone else I thought Dany being skeptical over Jon is reasonable. Something tells me those that are mad at Dany for not trusting Jon are probably hardcore Jon fans being like, "she's being very mean to him" haha.

Speaking of great conversations, that scene with Olenna Tyrell at the end, dang. Grandma thug for life, haha.
