Gender Changes.

Eh.. No, I'm right thanks. As much as I hate having woman issues, I don't really see myself having a sex change. o.o Plus, girls don't attract me, or I'd be a gay man. XD;

:x

It does slightly creep me out, not gonna lie. However I wouldn't discriminate against anyone who has or wants to have one. Myself, I'll never get one.

They are not exactly the same thing at all Gay and TransGendered.

I didn't say they were exactly the same? You misinterprated my post; I have never heard of someone who is heterosexual having a sex change though.
No need to bring my rep down for it, the topic starter made the title 'gender change' rather than the correct term 'sex change' I take it you didn't give them bad rep; telling me to do some research, excuse me if I don't know the correct term for everything I don't want to spend my time learning the correct word for every horrible thing people do to their bodies.

Yes, I totally would. I kind of already am "both" gender-wise though, so I'll probably end up switching back and forth. Oh, what fun. :D

No thanks :[ I like being a male, even if it does complicate things with whom I'm attracted to, etc. I just wouldn't want to be a female XD;

I wouldn't personaly.. But I'm not against others doing it.

But I wouldn't mind being a woman for a day.

And be straight? Har har, you are a funny one.

It's like a man having an operation to make his penis bigger because apparently he is 'straighter' than other men; not all gay people have to change their sex, it's as if people who do have sex changes are apparently 'gayer' than other gay people; they still have the same sex organs and once your born a male/female your stuck with that for the rest of your life whether your gay or not.

Um actually most transexuals are straight.

Yes, and I plan on it.

Transpride!

...You are so awesome. When did you come back? XD

Anyways, I think it's kinda effed up, to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely nothing against homosexuality, that's totally cool with me. I just...don't understand why anyone would want to do that to themselves. I mean, anyone who's ever considered getting a sex change...have you ever seen the end result of those? Guys, it won't make you look like chicks, just...dudes dressed in drag with boobs. Seriously.

It's a personal choice, and I respect other people's views on this, i just think it's really...unnatural...

Spaekle is back to make clarifications!

  • Yes, sex is physical and gender is mental. I didn't really expect many people here to be like OH HELL YEAH I WANT ME A SEX CHANGE, because it doesn't work that way. Your gender tends to be something you don't really think about or notice unless it doesn't match your sex, and in most cases it does.
  • I think we need to bring up the conditions that cause people to desire sex changes. Gender Identity Disorder or "gender dysphoria" is a real condition where one has a strong, persistent feeling that they have basically been born into the wrong body.
  • You may wonder, isn't that just a mental disorder? The answer is no, it isn't - they've tried to 'cure' people of being transgendered just as they've tried to 'cure' people of being homosexual, and in either case it's almost always ended up being abusive and traumatic for the one they're attempting to 'cure', and hardly effective at all. To put it bluntly, the problem's not up there.
  • It is often difficult for a male-to-female transsexual to pass as female; and I feel very bad for women who have that problem. You may have learned in sex ed that the 'default' sex for humans is female; it's more complicated than this, but for the sake of simplicity I'll just say that the male body is somewhat of a 'deformation' of this female prototype. Female-to-male transsexuals can have testosterone injections and ultimately end up looking exactly like biological males; their voices break, they grow muscles and hair, et cetera, just like a young boy going through puberty. This is because their body is female and making the transition is, in a way, 'deforming' it just like what happens in the womb. With male-to-female transsexuals, however, it's not really that easy because you can't really go backward. Surgery can give MTF's all the parts they need, while it's really really hard to give an FTM a penis. Both sides have difficulties with the physical transition.
  • Believe me, the last thing most transgendered people want is to look like freaks. They're ordinary people who just happen to have a serious condition, and the fact that society doesn't realize the seriousness of it makes it even harder on them. Transitioning is often the best chance they have at being happy with themselves.
  • Gender identity =/= sexual orientation. Not every male-to-female is attracted to men, and not every female-to-male is attracted to women. They often do, and in that case they identify as heterosexual, because mtf's are women and ftm's are men - their bodies are just wrong. It is, however, possible to be transgendered and gay.
  • Transgenderism has been observed in other animals just as homosexuality has.
  • Additionally, many transgendered individuals are aware of what they are as early as four or five.

I didn't mean to talk anyone's ear off and I realize this was probably just meant as a lighthearted question, but there is a lot of misunderstanding going on in this thread and I feel the need to clear it up. :V

Well, to be honest, maybe for experimenting, but not in a normal life. The opposite sex is very interesting to me, but not to the point of transgender. I find it to be strange why anyone would want it other than experimenting, but its their choice. I have nothing against it because its their body. I was wondering over them a while ago because does the person that dates them count as bisexual even if they didn't know? Graagh, its a complicated system.

Definitely not. 8| I don't have a problem with the people who do; I mean it's their life and their choice.

The very thought of surgery kind of scares me, anyways. I'd only get surgery on anything if it was absolutely necessary, which in this topic it is not.

Absolutely not >:o
There are a lot of perks about being a girl, and in my total unfeminist way, I like using them to my advantage ;3
Blame PMS for everything and call yourself too dainty to do laborious things like sports and the like. Also, I don't need to go out and prove my feminineness to the world like guys try to do with themselves. It's much easier to be a girl, I feel bad for all of those 'I need to be macho' men.

That's a negative. :| Quite frankly I like my parts where they are right now, and surgically removing them? The thought makes me wanna curl up and die.

besides. GIRLS RULE, BOYS DROOL. take that.

No. No I would not. Ever.

I didn't say they were exactly the same? You misinterprated my post; I have never heard of someone who is heterosexual having a sex change though.

Actually on Tyra there was a story of a guy who felt as if he was a gay woman and got the sex change.

I have always been curious about being a guy, even in my younger toddler days, but to completely change all my parts? Well. Um. No. Just...no. At least people wouldn't look at me funny when I say something pervy. Because it's so terrible for chicks to be pervy funny here.

Anyway, no, I would not change my sex. I like being a girl too much.

People that do, then, hey, it's their choice. I'm not going to hold anything against them for it, and if anyone decides to attack them for it, I'll fight right back. It's stupid to make fun of someone for it.

Er... no, I would never have a gender change. I'm happy with being some random girl... even though I like playing dodgeball, I will NEVER, EVER have a sex change.
