Used to love chess. Got seriously bored playing a game of "memorise the opening". It was like playing a video game only from reading the walkthrough step by step.

For all he was a despicable human being, Bobby Fischer was right. Fischer random is so much more fun.

of course if you play it enough it gets really boring. it's the same pieces & same board every damn time lol. tis why i only play once in a blue moon nowadays.

also, you know Bobby Fischer. i just gained so much respect for you.

it's alright! not the best flick i've seen by any means, but they made it pretty tense for a movie about chess lol.

lotsa chess lovers complained about several "hollywood" style errors tho

true, but it was pretty odd how evil they portrayed Boris Spassky (Fischer's opponent for that cold war chess championship thing), even though irl they were actually pretty good friends. just can't stop yourself from creating a main villain can you hollywood?

Yeah, well him and Fischer had a lot more in common than just chess...

I will definitely give it a watch sometime!
