PC: Get-Together 2024

Hello! I am here for the challenges event of course ✨ the Olympics sound like a great occasion to try the save swap challenge again!

I can help co-host this challenge, if you want.

I can probably do some Jackbox.

GP I can host some Pictionary if you want to lessen the burden on yourself (I almost got scared that no one remembered but good thing you did).

I'll also do the VGM Sharing (revamped) again if no one else minds. I checked and last year I had people try to identify 100 songs and rank 50 so yeah I've learned my lesson.

Can also do Jackbox if you guys want to share burden.

Yes please thank you both so much

I'm hoping to host a long term Archipelago event, in a team versus team format. Would run from the beginning to the end of GT (or whenever a team wins). I have made some specific implementations for archipelago to work with GT, that I have already tested.

[ Archipelago - Magma V Aqua ] would likely be the final name of the event.

Shouldn't matter how many people are on each team, it should be fair regardless.

Hi, this will be one hectic month for me, hopefully more time next month... I'd like to do something relatively easier to organize as my first.
An event I thought would be great to try things out is a Pokemon GO event:
- Longform event: Participants sign up with a screenshot of their profile page, points are calculated from the change of numbers between the start and end of the event: distance walked and pokemon caught
- Daily event: A Pokemon is chosen at random, participants can earn personal points by catching the biggest/smallest/heaviest/lightest of that species during that day.
- Achievements: Team points given for meeting thresholds: x km walked, x pokemon caught, x exp earned, x pokestops spun, taking part every day.

I've never done an event before so this'll be a test run.
I'm also willing to help with other events that require minimal attention during the GT but somehow noone else is willing to organize, I have a few of these on my list so may make another post later

I would say rather than keeping walking/catching Pokémon, it will be better if it done on Go battle League. Because walking is not possible for people who live in adverse weather, like here where weather is still over 40°C, and soon will be followed by monsoon. Hence going out will be luck-based.

Unfortunately PoGo does not allow players to challenge eachother to a battle, unless they're close to eachother or have been friends for a long time.

As for giving challenges like play x battles against random trainers, I personally find that to be less interesting. Besides, walking to catch Pokemon is more of what PoGo is supposed to be like.

I can add an extra achievement for battling, but it wont be the main focus of this event.

Where will this be axactly?
The events will be posted here on Pokecommunity, but its advised to also join the discord channel, as that is the best way to connect with your team members and receive notifications on what exactly has to be done on a specific day. Its easy to get lost on the forums and some events need cooperation.

You are senior here, so you can decide the things better than me.

I consider Pokémon games more for battles, hence thought to give that info. Although I do agree with you that most people who play Pokémon GO don't enjoy battles as it requires certain amount of planning, and naturally most are collectors.

😃 😀

Just to confirm I plan on hosting an E&M event again this year.

If no separate A&M event happens then I can add in questions from that as well as all the usual categories 😊

As a trivia thing?

Spoiler:

Okay, everyone hosting an event should now have access to the Event Organiser forum. Make sure you read the pinned threads before getting started!
