A simple question, that might take some remembering for people who've been fans of Pokémon for a longer time.

What was your original team?
As in, what 6 pokemon did you go through the game with the first time? Did you switch them out often? At all?

Take a trip down memory lane!

That was getting to be quite a long time ago for me....

But iirc, my original team on my Yellow version 15 years ago was Pikachu, Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur, Pidgeot, and....something that I don't remember but it was eventually replaced by Mewtwo or something.

I believe it was something like Emboar, Patrat, Joltik, Deino, Heatmor, and something else. I had no clue how to switch my party Pokemon outside of battle.

Much like Zekrom, my first team was nearly 15 years ago, so I can't tell you much outside of having a Zapdos in Yellow that replaced my Pikachu once I made it to the Power Plant. Other than that, I can only assume that I had a Charizard and/or Pidgeot, and I believe a Gyarados. That said, I can't even remember my original 6 back on the 5th gen games, so it wouldn't surprise me if I'm way off, haha.

And since this is about the games moreso than the series as a whole, I'm going to move this over to Pokemon Gaming Central for you.

First Pokemon game I ever really played was Pokemon Black. =D I didn't have to share it with my stinky siblings, didn't have to keep lending it for trades. IT WAS MINE, ALL MINEEEEEEEEEEE

They seriously kicked ass! =D Krookodile was my main man, of course. He wiped out everything! He didn't even die once in the game! I'd totally recommend him for any 5th gen team.

My first game was Diamond and I can remember is Luxray, Infernape, Dialga and maybe Floatzel. Not sure what my others were. I got really attached to my Luxray so I remember him the most.

Yeah it overlapped so many types, but this was all before I got smart when it came to teambuilding so yeah it's just to show how dumb I was when I was new to the games. At least I learned from said mistake, and the Roselia I had was the one which won me a Master Rank Beauty Contest so it's still special.

my very first was actually bulbasaur. no idea who else i had in the team i have done it so many times. in blue i had 80 % of all time blastoise, and vaporeon. cant remember the others( but then it is been 15 years or so...)

While I am not so sure of Blastoise (and Venusaur, kinda), I am fairly certain of Charizard being there. Can't forget how much I regret replacing Fire Blast with Fire Spin, and how I trained Venusaur all the way to lv33 in Diglett's Cave alone. Blastoise might've been Lapras instead, since I do recall training my first lapras at Cinnabar Island, before facing Blaine. It was Lv15 but swooped butt even until I reached Blaine himself, KO'ing Arcanine with Sing and a bunch of SURFs.

I remember having trained a Butterfree, mankey, krabby, snorlax, Haunter (caught as one), Sandshrew, Magikarp (yeah, the 500 pokedollar one, which i got tired of training), Jigglypuff, spearow, Nidoran M, Flareon, Pidgeot, and Dugtrio. It was a huge pain trying to get my first Bulbasaur. God. I just had to say that.

One of the first teams I also recall just as clearly was from some 12 or 13 years ago. We just moved to our new house, and my sister and I were basically tasked to watch the house while my mom and dad were picking up the remaining boxes at the old one. We then played thru yellow together. I took over only around Silph co. She loved Mankey and Haunter, so we had it til the League. I took Jolteon for our Eevee, while still keeping Pikachu. Lapras was the fifth, our surfer, and I'm not so sure if we had a sixth - Since I recall that we were struggling by the time we battled Agatha. Might've been Pidgeot, if anything,

The first Pokemon game I ever played was Yellow and in my first playthrough of it I had Pikachu and Mr. Mime (I didn't discover the wonder that is Nidoking until I replayed the game) and I pretty much only used those two throughout the whole game until they both hit lv100. I also remember using a Master Ball on a Jigglypuff, because I thought it was the only way to catch it. In the newer games I have tried to make more balanced teams, but eventually I always end up with a Pokemon with much higher level than the rest of my team.

My first team consisted of Blastoise and some random stuff that I never used. I think at the E4 there was a Haunter in there, too, which evolved into Gengar at some point and after the League Mewtwo joined the group.

If we're talking about my first real team, then it would be Blastoise, Venusaur, Charizard, Nidoking, Scyther and Venomoth in Blue. A really powerful team, the only opponent they couldn't overcome was a corrupted save file, unfortunately...

 

[Hiatus]

My original team was in Pokémon Blue version, which I've put together when playing through the game around age of six.

Unfortunately, I don't precisely what my members were. Though, I do recall having Blastoise somewhere, as it is the Pokémon I've started off my journey with; Bulbasaur and Charmander were rather cool, but Squirtle, in my eyes, seemed to have been superbly cute, making it difficult for me not to choose it, haha. Plus, it's also the mascot of Blue.

As far as old teams go, only one I do remember would have to be from my first run of Emerald; it had consisted of Absol, Blaziken, Breloom, Gyarados, Claydol, and Metagross. I had tendency to replace them every once in a while so that I could try other Pokémon out, but put that aside, it would remain more or less the same. Sadly, I've never got chance to try this team out with any of my friends, as none of them had link-cable at the time (and neither did I). If it weren't for that, it definitely would have been a different story.

O_O This was extremely long ago for me. I only remember having Charizard and Pidgeot, I honestly don't remember any other Pokémon :P

The only Pokemon I remember from the team I used the very first time I ever played Blue was Blastoise. I don't remember any of the other five I used.

Well, I can't remember my exact original team. I was a stupid kid and only over leveled my stater, which was a Venasaur and used the rest for HM slaves. I think I had a Pidgey for fly and that's all I remember.

My very first Pokémon playthrough was sixteen years ago...The only thing I remember having was a Blastoise and a Raichu...ironically two pokémon that I don't particularly care for today. XD

I don't remember my entire first team. It was Pokémon Blue. As I was a stupid kid, I had traded away my starter (Charizard) , so I had no starters on my final team... IIRC, my Pokémon back then were... a Ninetales, a Kabutops, a Mewtwo, an Articuno, a Venomoth... and someone else, I can't remember who.

I remember settling on this team after a few victories over the League, and I even leveled them up until level 100.
