Do you have any goals for the near future, or short term things you would like to accomplish? It doesn't have to be anything seriously big.

I would like to hit 1000 ELO in chess. This would make me feel accomplished. I've been rising at a rate of about 100 points per week. Eventually I know I'll hit a wall, because right now I don't need to learn tactics or theory. I can just do board scans to make sure my pieces are guarded, and it's enough to win by attrition. Right now I'm steadily approaching a rating of 550.

An interesting topic thread Zeo, kudos to you~!

Goals hm... I've started these past 5 years when I started changing myself for the better and began my healing as well spiritual journey of finding myself and getting 100% well, finding true peace and to find happiness once more in my life. That I tend to live in the present moment only now and not focus nor worry for my future. Since it could always possibly change, in my opinion I bealive that.

    ● Goals:
•🌿1. ) Live a healthy lifestyle and stay fit and active~ ( about 50% there and still going now )
•🌿2. ) Focus on my arts and crafts possibly selling my work not for fame or money, just to help and make others happy and smile~
•🌿3. ) Maybe find a true friend or experience what a romantic relationship really is like~( If never finding such things I'm 100% happy being alone/single the rest of my life )

Eliminate the rest of my credit card debt
Get a promotion and pay increase at work (or a new one)
    Aesthetics

In five years, pay off my car and move to the Midwest

I want to keep exploring the medical field and do more to support women's sexual health in New Jersey. It's been so rewarding even doing the boring paperwork side of things because I know each paper I file is another young woman who we can help and feels safer in our care.

I also want to commit myself tenfold to my art, but really break away from anime. I love my waifus don't get me wrong, but my true skills are somewhere else and I want to start focusing on that instead of appeasing randos on Twitter for NSFW art and quick cash.

Lastly, just silly stuff like finally reaching Hunter Rank 999 before Monster Hunter: Rise drops!

    SHORT TERM GOALS
    - finish the Reading Challenge 2021 that i impulsively signed up for in January. it's almost been 2 months since then and i still haven't finished a single book lol.
    - finish Pokemon Unbound. can't remember how long it's been since i first downloaded it, but i'm still 7 Gyms in lmao what
    - buy a drawing tablet and practice digital art
    - return to a consistent workout routine and eat a little healthier everyday

    LONG TERM GOALS
    - get a stable income freelancing full time. hopefully work less hours and be more flexible with time
    - learn more about investing
    - buy a house, marry gf, get a big and small dog together

I did just hit 550, so it's quite nice. Not quite my big "goal" but a bench mark I wanted to reach.

I am trying to save up enough money to buy a house with a property large enough to install a flag poll.

I think I need around 30K for the area, I have 10K in the bank.

    Love threads like this.

    Some short term goals include:
    - Placing in the top 100 of an event for an idol game I'm playing in
    - Finishing two pieces of writing I'm working on, one for March 1st and the other sometime before March 4th
    - Focus on building healthier habits (I need to drink more water often, for example)
    - Finish some games I've started playing but haven't finished, Metroid Prime 3 is the first that came to mind

    And some long terms:
    - Getting into college, or whatever's happening there. Quarantine is really weird and I'm not trying to get in if I'm being pushed into online classes I'll fail
    - Keeping a consistent and healthy sleep schedule, since it affects my mental health more than I thought at first
    - To keep pushing myself, things like being more social, talking to more people, and raise confidence
    - Yeah stable income would be cool I guess,,,
    - Moving in with my boyfriend

I want to get a job in the summer and that's about it.

    Short-term:

    - Start going to bed around 11PM/12AM - I recently had a septoplasty + turbinoplasty to help me breathe better as my nose has been majorly blocked my whole life. As a result, I was often getting poor quality sleep and falling asleep early in the evenings to the point it started interfering with my schoolwork because I could not make myself stay awake to complete it. Now that I am recovering and able to breathe much better, I'd like to go to bed at a more normal time and have the time to catch up!

    - Resume exercising after surgery and rebuild my way back up to running 10km every 2nd day. I want to start ideally with just hiking again (7km --> 15km --> 20km) and then transition back into running and building up my stamina again by redoing the training program I did last year.

    - Give myself a minimum of 2 hours of free time at the end of the day to decompress as I have the tendency to create to do lists that never end and feel the need to be productive, even when I am extraordinarily burnt out.

    - Finish reading 25 books this year - so far I am on 10 so I'm hoping to keep it up!

    - Practice debating - I have always been a public speaker and never taken the time to learn how to debate properly but would like to given its relevance to my degree.

    - Learn how to do makeup properly as I have been putting it off forever and it looks nice :D

    - Save up enough money from my part-time job to pay for braces myself

    - Go to driving school and finally start learning to drive after 3 years of having my license

    Long-term:

    - Finish my university degree

    - Get admitted as a lawyer in Australia

    - After a few years of working in Australia, get qualified to practice overseas and perhaps move abroad (US, UK etc.)

    - Continue working in jobs that are socially-impact focused and if not possible, engage in volunteering where I can in my free time

    - Save up enough to go on a tour around Europe

    - Eventually feel ready enough to date and hopefully settle down sometime in the future?!
