Gym Leaders/Elite Four Speculation

Every region always brings us a new lineup of Gym Leaders and Elite Four members, each specializing in a given type. What are you hoping to see out of the possible new Gym Leaders/Elite Four etc? Like what types they would use? Or maybe what designs they could be based on to represent that type? Or maybe what the new badges might be called?

I'd hazard a tentative guess that we're getting at least a Water Gym based off of this building. It's ridiculously big but note the Water types plastered around the edges and the pokeball emblem up top.

Of course, it could turn out to be some sort of museum or private-owned mansion like the one in Kalos or something else altogether if that even is a final screenshot of the finished in-game design.

I actually want to see the Gyms NOT employ a strict one-type deal. Maybe have Gyms be based around certain strategies, have Gyms do a central theme to them having types centered around that theme. Stuff like that.

I have to go with what everyone else it saying, I hope for a dark type gym. It's long overdue, I also wouldn't mind having a flying type elite four member. I don't think we've had one so far, so that would be a nice change.

I actually watched this video by a YouTube named MysticUmbreon which is his theory on why Dark-type Gyms currently don't exist. Apparently he points out that Gym Leaders are meant to be a positive, role-model figure who serves to run and protect their city/town, and with Dark-type being called "Evil" in Japan it seems to be against that kind of role.

And if possible, try having a Fairy-type Elite Four/Gym for a continuation of the Fairy-type domination.

i came into this thread with the express purpose of saying in big letters "Dark type gym" but i see you all have that covered.

so considering there's a "Moon" and apparent night time theme, maybe there's a good chance we'll see a Dark type leader. if it won't happen because of the type's Japanese name, that's truly a missed opportunity.

i mean Eevee's Dark evolution only happens are night are you really gonna miss how great of a theme that is.

Can we have a Grass Type Elite Four please? It is astonishing we have not had it yet.

I have a feeling we will get a Rock Type Gym early on as is normally the case and a Poison Gym as the seventh or eighth Gym.

More to the point though can we please have some character development of Gym Leaders. In Kalos The only Leader who got anything was Korrina.

Dark type and Water type are mostly linked to the moon.

I could see a Water/Dark gym.

I really want a Normal-type Elite Four member. We've never had one of those; it'd be a nice change from the standard Dragon users we're always getting. I expect we'll wind up with a Fairy-type Elite Four member as well.

Version exclusive Gym Leaders would be awesome, too. It'll never happen, but I'd love it if it did. It'd really personalise the experience, and give me an excuse to play both versions myself for a change.

I'd like to see the Elite Four have a bigger role in the story or post-story in this game. They're supposed to be the strongest trainers in the game and yet they mostly just sit in a room and have very little character development. If the region (or world) is in crisis I would like to see them take a bigger role, like Steven/Wallace did when the whole planet was getting wrecked by Kyogre and Groudon.

What I mainly want to see are things that haven't been done before. Not just a Dark gym, but an Ice gym that isn't 7th or 8th, a Steel gym than isn't 6th, a Rock gym that isn't 1st, a new female Water specialist, a new male Ghost specialist, an Electric specialist who isn't light-haired, stuff like that.

As for the Elite Four, please let them use types besides the overdone Ice/Fighting/Ghost/Dragon/Psychic/Dark. Just because the Indigo League used those types doesn't mean that every single other E4 needs to have those types, too. I'll still never forgive Hoenn and Unova for so blatantly regurgitating the Indigo E4 types when they could've easily done something else, something that Sinnoh (Bug/Ground/Fire/Psychic) and even Kalos (Fire/Steel/Water/Dragon) deserve kudos for.

And, speaking of the E4, can GF start treating their characters with respect? They're supposed to be the region's strongest trainers, yet are usually more cardboard and less developed than even the most boring Gym Leaders. They were the only important trainers excluded from the PWT, and they're rarely, if ever, seen on the anime.

I was thinking more along the lines of all of them being exclusive, rather than just one or two~

Also, having some Gym Leader antagonists again would be great! Haven't had one of those since Giovanni, and it was nice battling him at the end of the first gen games in a more official capacity; it was a nice resolution to things.

I think something cool might be version exclusive leaders for the last gym! For the Sun version we could have a Fairy typed gym leader and for Moon we could finally get that much anticipated Dark gym leader. BW had this but both were a Dragon leader so this would be a little different. Would be cool to have a little more distinction between the two games :)

3rd: Ground
4th: Dragon

Just my thoughts tho.
